I would have liked if the room had wash cloths, string attached to 2 windows were missing & I wish that the hotel had complimentary coffee / tea inside the room. Other than that, the hotel was in a great location, the staff was great and the room had a beautiful view.

Quiet and nice pine trees right in front of the hotel. About 20mon walk to Chodang-dong, various restaurants. Nice room as well. Will definitely come again.

Modern, clean, excellent breakfast. View of ocean from room and plenty of walking path on park across the street. Several restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Small room did not have any closet or drawers for clothes, so it was truly living out of the suitcase.

They did not give notice that there was major construction next door to our side of hotel, not would they offer discount.
But the location across from beach was great. And while you are technically not supposed to swim (no life guard), there were a few. But the view and walking trail through woods between beach and hotel was very nice..and not a far walk to Gyeongpodae Beach.
Location was quiet/remote - good if you have car, not great if you don’t. If you want nightlife/restaurants within east walk, stay near Gyeongpodae beach

A great suite - what a view
I stayed in one of the corner suites. The view was outstanding. Even better than the image on the website. The room was large and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, as were the chairs.
I didn't watch the TV as I was reading and just looking at the view. I like this hotel because it is just across from an undeveloped, unspoilt, and very quiet stretch of beach - the nicest I have seen in Gangneung and probably the nicest I have personally experienced in South Korea. As a result, I spent a fair amount of time on the beach. Unfortunately, a huge development is being built next door to the hotel. I hope it doesn't ruin this area of beach, but I am doubtful.
Breakfast was a do-shi-rack/bento box to be eaten in the room. This was surprising, but it was tasty nonetheless.
The room was not the cleanest though. Dusty in parts and even a bit of dried seaweed on the bedside table. However, I really enjoyed my stay overall. I was sad to leave the suite due to the view and the amount of natural light. I hope to go back soon.

Highly recommended Avvio hotel in Gangneung.
I stayed in Avvio hotel for 2 nights in the early of Jan 2023. It was such a beautiful room with view towards the sea and pine tree. Inside this room, there was a cozy corner where you could relax. Especially, the receptionist (Ms. Jisoo) of this hotel is very kind and helpful. She really supported me to get my phone back when I accidentally lost it in the taxi. Many thanks to her hospitality which makes my trip memorable in Gangneung.

Avvio is AWESOME!
I stayed at Avvio for a week. And I got to say it's a hidden gem nestled amongst a slew of hotels and motels along the beach. What it may lack in terms of certain amenities. It more than makes up in relaxation, service, and quality. Got to give 2 thumbs up to the hotel staff! Along with the amazing view in our room, they made our choice to extend our stay at Avvio easy. Also definitely recommend their western breakfast buffet. It's worth it. Looking forward to my future stays here.

Enjoyed our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Avvio hotel during the winter Olympics. The building was attractive and clean. The rooms were comfortable with great views of the ocean. The staff was excellent. The only downside was the food service. Breakfast was served each morning from 8am-930a and it was very good. But beyond that there is not much in the way of food and beverage to purchase. You can't get a cup of coffee except during breakfast. But overall a very nice stay.

I enjoyed my long-term stay there during the PyeongChang Olympic Games. The building is brand new and clean with tasteful decoration. Breakfast was okay. The hotel staff lacked a little bit of professionalism, but they were eager to help. Felt more like B&B than hotel.

This was a beautiful hotel. We were concerned when booking it as there were not many reviews and didn't really know how far the location was from everything, but took a chance and we were very happy with our decision. 5-7 minute taxi ride from Gangneung train station and was 10-12 minutes away from Gangneung Olympic Park. Hotel staff went out of their way to help us. An example of this is that we were unable to get a taxi one day so one of the staff members offered to drive us to the venue. The room is done very well and had a balcony with a beautiful view overlooking the Sea of Japan. Bed was very comfortable and there were enough outlets to charge all of our devices.

Brand new hotel across the street from the beach. Stayed here during the 2018 Winter Oympics. Extremely nice staff that went out of their way to help us order food for our group of 12 late at night, held our luggage (a lot) after we checked out until our train at night, called us a taxis every time, etc. Rooms were new and some had very beautiful ocean views.
Location is new so not every taxi driver new the location right away. Had to reference an older hotel next door to get to the right place.
Lastly, similar to many international destinations that don't get a deluge of foreigners, easier if you speak a little Korean here.

룸컨디션, 청결도, 인테리어 제품 모두 청결하고 심플하고 좋습니다. 706호 기준 파노라마 오션뷰로 방에서 일출이 보여요. 조식도 할인받아 13,000원이었는데 그 가격이 맞나 싶을만큼 훌륭했어요.다만 옆에 호텔이 들어오는지 공사중이라 다소 시끄럽고 주변에 식당이나 편의시설이 아직은 부족한 점이 살짝 아쉽습니다. 그래도 옆에 대형호텔 완공후엔 편의시설이 채워질테고 현재 가성비를 유지한다면 아주 좋은 선택지가 될 것 같습니다

주의하세요. 호텔스닷컴에는 조식포함으로 되어 있으나, 식당이 아직 오픈하지 않은 가오픈상태였어요.
조식 포함가격으로 예약했기 때문에 클레임을 했지만, 호텔스닷컴은 자신들이 직접 업데이트하는 사이트가 아니라는 이유로 해줄 수 있는게 없다는 답변만 하면서, 어떠한 보상도 받지 못했어요.
가오픈 상태여서인지 모르겠지만 방에는 옷을 걸어놓을 가구나 옷걸이도 없었어요.
샤워기는 연결부위에서 물이 세어나오면서 제대로 사용할 만큼 충분한 물이 나오지 않았고, 샴푸 거치대 문제인지 샴푸를 펌핑하는것도 힘들게 되어 있었어요.
오직 하나 나를 만족시킨건, 침대에 누워서 일출을 볼 수 있었던 것.

가오픈 상태여서인지 모르겠지만 방에는 옷을 걸어놓을 가구나 옷걸이도 없었어요.
샤워기는 연결부위에서 물이 세어나오면서 제대로 사용할 만큼 충분한 물이 나오지 않았고, 샴푸 거치대 문제인지 샴푸를 펌핑하는것도 힘들게 되어 있었어요.
오직 하나 나를 만족시킨건, 침대에 누워서 일출을 볼 수 있었던 것.

바다뷰 말고는 모두 아쉬움이 많았음.
양쪽 통창으로 바다를 직관할 수 있는 경치는 최고였음.
하지만 바로 옆에 건설이 이뤄지고 있어서 창문 커텐을 활짝 펼수가 없었고, 옆에 건설이 이뤄지니 차량에 먼지도 많이 쌓임 (지상주차장)
생각보다 주차장이 협소해서 놀랐음.
서비스도 호텔이라고 볼수 없을 정도로 별루였고,
내가 이용한 층 복도는 천장에서 물이 떨어지고 있었고, 복도에서 냄새가 좋지 않았음.... 아무리 비가 많이 왔다고 해도 왠지 무방비 상태로 그냥 놔두는 느낌?
조식은 생각보다 간편하게 먹기 좋았어요.

바다뷰랑 청결상태 매우 만족스럽습니다. 밤에 갑자기 감기기윤이 있어 프론투에 상비약 문의해보니 잘 챙겨주시더라구요. 조식도 호텔 규모 생각하면 만족스러운 정도였습니다. 다음에 또 오고 싶을 것 같습니다! 다만, 냉장고랑 내선전화가 제대로 작동되지 않은 부분은 조금 아쉬웠습니다.

조용하고 호텔앞에 소나무향에 바다가 보여 푹 쉬다가 와 좋았읍니다. 그리고 조식까지 간단하게 제공하고 아침에 밖으로 나가지 않아 괜찮았읍니다.

무늬만 호텔같은 느낌
일단 체크인 하는 3시에 로비 락스+거품 청소하고있는 호텔을 처음봤어요 들어가자마자 여긴 뭐지 싶음. 그리고 바닷가 호텔에 씨뷰로 갔으면 당연히 창문이 깨끗해야하는거 아닌가요..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 전사람 지문+얼굴 유리에 닿으면 생기는 기름자국도 있구요... 루프탑이래서 올라갔는데 테이블에 황사자국 그대로있고 그냥 관리를 안한거같은 느낌이였습니다. 호텔과 모텔의 사이에 있는 느낌이였어요. 그냥 조금 돈 더 보태서 네임드 가심이 나을듯합니자

강릉 바다뷰 호텔 찾았는데 완전 만족했어요!! 아침에 방에서 일출까지 볼수있어서 넘 좋았습니다:)

방은 크지 않지만 깔끔했어요. 해변으로 가는 길이 붐비지 않아서 좋았어요. 오션 뷰 였는데 아침에 해돋이를 숙소애서 볼 수 있어서 너무 좋았습니다. 다음에 또 이용하고 싶어요
