This property is located on the beach with great vistas. Has several pools but in my opinion they are very shallow. The restaurant does not offer an a la cart menu but rather a fixed meal and was the worst meal experienced for the price.
However, the hotel is really nice and the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help.

The property is beautiful. The restaurant waiters are the best!!

On the lowlight, the shower’s hot water didn’t properly work, and the beach in front of the hotel was quite dirty.

Overall we’d stay again at this hotel, but it’s a little bit overpriced.

Great hotel with limited dining options

Dear iec and staff were great. Just lack breakfast lunch and dinner options.
Breakfast could improve with more hot breakfast. Only a buffet lunch available which is very limited. Pool cafe only does sandwiches. Hot food or even French fries would be good. No fresh ice cream either. Dinner is a set menu with limited options. We had no chicken option for the whole week we stayed there. Also there’s only one restaurant in the area so dining is limited. So hotel should give more choices. We had to take at 25 euro taxi each time we wanted to eat in the nearest town. Pool and beach are lovely! Classic room was disappointing as the balcony was really a ground floor terrace which looked on to a big hedge so no sunshine or sky view from room for the money we sprint really expected a better room!

The air conditioning system is older and the thermostat in the room does nothing. We were there during a hot night and had to request a fan. The restaurant is not good at all. They run out of food several times during breakfast and getting a coffee is a chore. You can read other reviews about the dinner service being rude. Definitely not 5 star, OK, but they should adjust their prices.

Very nice stay, would stay again

Overall a perfect stay. Facilities are fantastic staff very professional + serious so at times appear a little unfriendly. Offered access to a room late (1700) on day of check out for showers etc. at no extra cost which was great.

Some observations to pick areas not so good: price of onsite items is v-expensive. X2 versus Santa Teresa Gallura in a lot of cases. There is no alternative given the location but I guess this is what happens when you are a captive audience. We didn’t eat at the hotel and opted for one of many restaurants in STG. €20 taxi for a 5 min drive (get the shuttle bus in) negates the extra you would pay for eating in the hotel.

Only other point which annoyed me was no water in the room each day. It was 30degrees and I would expect a bottle per person per day. There is water in the mini-bar which you have to pay for.

Uncomfortable Rooms and Scary Maitre D's

I read some of the same problems in other reviews, but didn't believe the, they were right. First let me say that it is a beautiful property. They seem to act like they are a 5-star hotel, but they aren't. We weren't expecting a 5-star either. Some of the staff acts a bit arrogant, very arrogant. Pools are cold, the sea is warmer.

The reviews about the rooms smelling bad are correct. You open the door to your room and wow, does it smell horribly musty.

The mattresses are rock hard. No comfort whatsoever. Not very inviting. The room was pretty and nicely appointed as well as the bathroom though.

Let's talk arrogance. The maitre d's were downright scary. We arrived at the hotel around dinner time and asked the front desk if we needed a reservation for dinner, she assured we didn't. The maitre d' acted like it was such an imposition because we did purchase the dinner plan. He was rude and like I said scary. There were plenty of tables, but he was in a huff having to seat us. Needless to say we decided not to have dinner there again. Until the last night, we decided to give it another go because of convenience. This time they sent us down to the other restaurant because we didn't have the dinner package. Again, the maitre d', a different one, was just as rude and scary as the first one. We just about walked out, we should have! Food and drinks expensive too.

Staff friendly and welcoming. Hotel décor traditional, fresh and clean. Beautiful horizon pools overlooking the clean beach with plenty of sun beds and Lilo's to use. Helpful lifeguards and waiters. Variety of delicious buffet and menu foods. Gorgeous cafe at the other end of the beach with sandwiches and cocktails for lunch at good prices, friendly staff and great views. Plenty of places to explore, hike, hidden beaches, friendly local town. Recommend hiring a decent car for the hilly journey over an hour drive from airport. Credit to Fredderico and Antonio who were wonderful. Thank you

We were very pleasantly surprised by the nice upgrade we got after arrival! We had a wonderful room with the sea view. You really feel like you are in a 5 stars hotel, service is top and location is amazing. From the hotel you can go on hiking to wonderful hidden beaches. A highlight was the privat beach and the beach chair reserved for us. We will definitely come back!

Only thing i wud improve is texture of sheets for cotton and although mattresses are brand new and tall are not boxsprings and add more schedules to.shuttle or provide if need to go to sta teresa for bus to airport /taxis are very expensive

The location was fantastic. The beach was very close and good for swimming. There were several other beaches and swimming areas within easy walking distance as well. The restaurants on site were a little expensive but there were other dining options within walking distance as well. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately this hotel is not even close to 5 Stars. Our room was very old fashioned, the bed was too hard and the bedding uncomfortable. The shower leaked to the floor, which was annoyingly wet all the time. Mini bar was in poor condition and no SKY TV. Air Con also very poor. The Ala Carte restaurant and Cocktails well overpriced. We only ate there on the first night, very disappointing so didn't go back. Only good thing was the sea/pool view and the staff. They made us feel very welcome and were really helpful. They surprised me with the bottle of bubbly on my special birthday, which was really nice. This hotel needs a big refurbishment if they want to advertise themselves as a 5-Star place.

The location is fantastic and the beach is clean but the forced structure of what time you can eat and where you can eat is a little dissapointing.

There is no service by the pool, you MUST sit at the pool bar.
No Alcholo apart from Wine/Beer is served with dinner. For anything else you MUST go to the rooftop bar AFTER you have finished dinner
There are 2 restuarants on site, and you have no choice in which one you are allocated. to request either option, you have to make a booking prior and it depends on availability.

The waiting staff bring your receipts out to sign for the drinks even before you have been given your desert.

The food is ok, but gets very samey after a few days, theres only so much pasta, cheese and cold cuts you can eat!

It was clean and the amenities were nice, but when you are spending so much time in a resort i would only give it 3 stars

It is also clearly catered towards the Swiss/German holiday market and not so much the western European market.

before you book, An honest and fair review

When booking this hotel, the pictures really sell you the room, and the location seems perfect. on landing (Olbia) we took a taxi to the hotel at a cost £140.0 this was not what i was expecting, so it would be cheaper if you hired a car.

When we booked in, the view is breath taking, i booked a Superior Double room. we were greeted by a friendly porter, when he showed us to our room, i was totally gobsmacked by the very poor standard of the room, it is a square filled with the cheapest of beds, and some very old furnishing. i felt if i was sold a lie. i immediately went to reception, to express my concern, and that i was not impressed with the standard of the room. as it was a booking that you can cancel, i exercised the right. however it was 9pm in the evening, and finding a new hotel at the time would of been difficult.
the manager suggested we stay one night and discussed the costs in the morning. to which i agreed. we asked if we could be booked in for dinner, to be told it was fully booked...! then at the last minute they found us a seat. at a cost of £45.PP the food was not brilliant, but it was not poor. i was shocked at the price. the next morning was another debacle, where the use of a language barrier was in full play, with the treat of police, i agreed to pay 50% of the cost of the room.
i am not saying you should not stay at the hotel, but i am saying it is not what is in the picture, . the hotel is rated as a 5 star. it truly is only a 2/3 start at best...!

Have enjoyed this hotel but will not stay again

We have stayed at this hotel for at least the last five years. Views, beach, pool fantastic, but the property is getting run down. Plenty of staff but not much service. No internet, very poor TV. Five star rating but overpriced.

Some good points!

Negatives...no wifi all week, staff don't offer info about shuttle buses, kids club etc, bed very hard. Nothing to walk out to in the evening. No pool service.
Positives...lovely view, kids club staff very nice, nice to have choice of beach or pool. Good variety for breakfast but don't replenish all sitting.

Right on the beach

the grounds were beautiful! Right on the beach, several pools to choose from. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were a bit dated for the price, need some updating like bigger TV with more channels, clock radio, newer furniture. But, I would definitely go back!

Location is fantastic, The swim on the beach and the view from the pool overlooking the beach was worth the stay here. However this being a 5 star hotel, maybe in the 1980's but not now. More like a 3-4 star hotel that is old and needs a makeover. The place is in a fantastic location and has potential but seems to be long past its use by date at present. Wireless and breakfast was ok (nothing special). For the price paid it was not worth it.

Nice hotel with a private beach

Hotel is about one hour drive from Olbia airport, perfectly located at Capo Testa. Classic Rooms are a bit dated with rustic feel, but clean and tidy. Infinity pools are nice, but there is also a private beach with free sunbeds, parasols and towels for hotel guests. The beach is sheltered from Easterly wind, you only get a nice breeze. Hotel arranged an impressive cocktail by the pool with extensive buffet, again free for hotel guests. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is free too. Hotel is only 5 min drive from the town of Santa Teresa with many nice restaurants.

Might work for you, it didn't work for us.

Hotel was smaller than the photos suggested. Lifeguards seemed to be looking to create issues rather than solving them - didn't feel friendly. I think this hotel caters more for the local and Italian market. For the price and for a five-star hotel it didn't feel special.

Despite a small corner of the beach being cordoned off with a rope to mark it as private for the hotel, hawkers were relentless in their pursuit of a sale and, despite there being hotel staff on hand, no attempt was made to stop this from happening and the pursuit and number of the hawkers seemed relentless.

On the second night the air-conditioning didn't work and we had a fraught night but didn't complain, the second night when it was apparent at 4.30pm, having returned to the room, that the air-conditioning would not be on again, I requested a move to a different hotel. To be fair they obliged and the new hotel, part of the same group - was like entering a different world - and it was a proper and wonderful 5-star hotel. I marvel at why the staff at Capo Testa don't go to Colonna Resort for training because they are chalk and cheese. Also beach had lots of black material on it (probably seaweed but there was lots of it and on the second day jelly-fish).

I have reviewed Colonna Resort on Trip Advisor and have given it 10 out of 10 - really marvellous staff and fantastic facilities - as you would expect. So don't judge the whole group by this one hotel and maybe we were unlucky.

Family Hotel - not enough value for the money

Typical Sardenian Family hotel, but far too expensive for what is offered. Hotel beach rather small and packed with sunbeds, sunumbrellas could not be opened due to wind (in July). Public beach next to it. Poor Sport activity offer from third party (no sailingboats). Breakfast is OK, but Halfboard is uncreative pre-cooked food. Loud in dining room due to many kids. Waiters partly arrogant. Not possible to by beer at beach, we had to go to reception-bar and get two for 14,- EUR! Awful live music at evening bar. Only for old people.
Overall impression is that the hotel is far beyond its good times.

Déceptions et contrariétés

L’hôtel se situe dans un bel environnement avec une mer cristalline mais ne mérite pas ses 5 étoiles
Nous avions réservé une chambre supérieure avec vue mer latérale qui coûte 100euros de plus que la chambre classique.
En fait il s’agissait d’une chambre qui était identique à une chambre classique et on ne voyait la mer qu’une fois sur le balcon.
La chambre était la plus éloignée, même la wifi fonctionnait mal. Elle était petite, la salle de bain petite et la douche digne d’un hôtel 1 étoile. La climatisation était vétuste bruyante même éteinte. Après moult discussions fatigantes le jour d’une arrivée on nous propose une autre chambre: un peu plus grande meilleure vue sur mer mais Clim plus bruyante et un placard ridicule pour ranger ses affaires.
A la réception aucune compréhension notamment de la directrice pas sympa. Aucun geste commercial nous a été proposé et on nous a même réclamé le jour du départ de payer une bouteille d’eau.
La salle du petit déjeuner en sous sol est sinistre pour un hôtel au bord de mer
Prix injustifié pour un hôtel qui aurait besoin d’une vraie restauration
Seule la plage dépendante de l’hôtel était agréable

It was just a one-night stay. The hotel has a fantastic location and amazing facilities with 3 pools. Rooms are large, clean and quiet. However, and it is a standard in Italy, pillows were not great for such hotel. Breakfast just above average (no fresh juice and no à la carte service)

Wenn man einen ruhiger, erholsamen Urlaub mit gutem Essen und traumhafter Lage zum Strand verbringen möchte, kann ich dieses Resort nur empfehlen.
Gut gelegen, bietet alles was man braucht und ist sehr ruhig mit hilfsbereitem und freundlichen Personal.
Auch einen Ausflug ins nahe gelegene Städtchen kann ich empfehlen

Evitez cet hôtel...

Parmi les nombreux hôtels où nous avons séjourné en Italie, c'est le seul qui nous a obligé à payer une chambre supplémentaire pour notre bébé de 8 mois, car leur système informatique ne permet pas d'enregistrer deux adultes et un bébé dans une chambre double! Le séjour nous a donc coûté le double, même si nous avons dormi à trois dans la même chambre!

La VMC fait un bruit d'enfer. La douche a deux robinet \"C\" et \"C\"... allez comprendre lequel est l'eau froide?
Après votre douche, il y aura une grande flaque dans la salle de bain.
La porte d'entrée de la chambre frotte sur le sol, il faut forcer très fort pour l'ouvrir.

Bref, à part le coup d’œil sur la piscine qui est jolie...(mais ne comptez pas trop nager, car les bassins font 50 cm de profondeur presque partout) et le restaurant qui est correct, ce lieu reste globalement à éviter.

Die Lage und der Blick ist traumhaft. Die Anlage selbst ist sehr schön angelegt. Die Zimmer, besonders die Bäder müssten einmal renoviert werden.
Leider hatten wir sehr viele Ameisen im Zimmer.

Die Lage des Hotels ist einzigartig. Sehr saubere und gepflegt Anlage. Die Zimmer werden zweimal am Tag gereinigt. Anfang Oktober war ein Restaurant bereits geschlossen, was zu längeren Wartezeiten beim Essen führte.
