The hotel is located in the centre of Santa Teresa, within some 300 m of the sandy Rena Biana Beach and near the beaches of Capo Testa, La Marmorata and Rena Maiore as well as the Island of La Maddalena and Caprera Nature Park and the Garibaldi Museum. Visitors may enjoy boat trips to the islands of the Archipelago.
It is some 60 km to Olbia Airport and Alghero Sassari Airport is around 135 km away. This family friendly city hotel is ideal for business travellers and holidaymakers alike and features a reading room with WIFI Internet access and a bar/ TV lounge with satellite channels, a lift and a hotel safe.

This hotel was amazing. The room was so nice. The view was spectacular. The staff was awesome...helpful and very friendly. The location was great because it was far enough away from the \"busy\" part of Positano but close enough to walk to the main shopping areas. Superior room was traditionally furnished, large and comfortable. It had an additional sitting & dining area with bi-folds glass doors that opened on to the balcony. The bathroom was spacious but we couldn’t get the jacuzzi bath to work.
Breakfast was room service only (restaurant was closed), more than adequate in amount and quality for us, and provided for free.
All staff were polite and efficient.
The entrance doesn’t have a wow factor, it’s little more than a reception desk but we weren’t too concerned about that given that the hotel 2 properties away was almost 3 times the price :-)

Beautiful Hotel in the Heart of Positano
We loved our stay at Hotel L’Ancora for our honeymoon! The location is perfect as it is near many good resturants and shops. It is also just a 10 min walk to the beach! Our room was ready early, which was great because we were both sweaty after carrying our bags up (they offer a service to transport bags for £15/bag which we invested in when we left lol). Personally, I felt the bag service should be included with the room with how much we spent on our stay. The breakfast that was included was so yummy and the views were unbeatable! The staff was also very kind and helpful.

The location is where you want to be, right in the middle with everything you need around it. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay at hotel L’ancora was absolutely wonderful. Positano has been my favorite town in Italy, I did not want to leave. This hotel made us feel at home with its amazing central location, great staff, and included breakfast was a big plus!! We even used the transfer service at the end of our trip to Naples train station and our driver was punctual and made sure to get us to the station safe and on time. I truly loved our stay and can’t wait to go back.

The staff for our entire trip to Italy was excellent. Our front desk clerk, Lolanda, was one of the best. FYI: This property is only open ~6 months a year, closed from sometime in November to sometime in April -- that's when they have down time to do upgrades and repairs -- as are many of the hotel properties in Positano. As we've been before, this was our first trip to rent a vehicle and drive into this small, tight, seaport \"village,\" which is a total tourist trap due to so many people, scooters and motorcycles! Yikes. No parking at hotels. Only public lots -- so be prepared to valet for any amount of Euros necessary to leave a vehicle overnight! One last note for travelers driving: the paved road to get in and out is a narrow one-way loop (from West-to-East) that doubles as a pedestrian right-of-way. Of course this Hotel L'Ancora is only about 50 meters from the top of the hill up -- meaning that you have to drive the entire way to pull over and check in. No worries, though, the valets are excellent and worth the added expense. The views are especially great from their Restaurant, and they treat Hotel diners with the utmost respect and promptness!

We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back soon! The view from our room was amazing, and we enjoyed being in the center of the town. The walk down to the beach was right next to our hotel, which was very convenient. There are several lunch and dinner options next to the hotel, and the hotel restaurant is a great choice as well. The service was spectacular. My fiancé and I stayed for 5 days, and the staff was extremely helpful to help plan the proposal and other activities throughout our trip.

VERY HELPFUL how they coordinate porter service for getting luggage to/from the ferry port as Positano steps/hikes daily to/from beaches, shopping & restaurants is insane!

Can not say enough about this hotel! Hands down one of the nicest hotels we've stayed. The staff goes above and beyond, every single one! They gave us suggestions on places to go and places to eat/drink. The views are beyond incredible. The restaurant has a wonderful breakfast spread every morning and dinner was fantastic. They also arranged transportation for us to go to a restaurant off the beaten path called Donna Rosa, which was an authentic and amazing experience. Would like to specifically mention one of the staff, Simon, who, after calling around for us, went by the Bus Depot in another town to pick up my husband's backpack which we left on the bus drive to Positano. Would have been a very costly loss for us as his car keys were in there!!

The hotel sits in the side of the mountains and has breathtaking views of Positano and the sea. The staff were very kind and helpful and looked after us during our stay. It is extremely hilly there and my daughter gets car sick with the hairpin turns, so the hotel arranged for a private car to and from the train. We had the best octopus dishes of our lives from the restaurant. Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace and my little granddaughter loved her fresh orange juice and croissants and fruit. We will be returning to L’Ancora again.

We came from our vacation on Capri and spent the night. It poured down rain so hard but we managed to order room service and stay in. It was still a beautiful trip.

A beautiful hotel in a wonderful location with great views of Positano from both the hotel room and the restaurant. The room had a lovely balcony were we lounged in the sun and the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub that was equally relaxing.
Since the hotel is built on the hillside, the room access was not amenable to anybody in a wheelchair. There might be other rooms that are but when the elevator let us out we still had to go down a short flight of stairs and the up another to get to the room.
The bellboy took care of all the luggage so that wasn;t an issue and the hotel has arrangements with a parking garage so all we had to do was pull up to the hotel and they took care of the rest (at a cost of 50 Euro/night).
The food in the restaurant was good but there were other places nearby that had great food. OVerall, it was a very good stay with a wonderful staff.

She told us there were only 3 ships to Sorrento but actually there are more than 10 ships daily. We have then made a wrong decision as to how to head back to Naples when it came to checking out

We really appreciated the assistance with our luggage. Breakfast buffet in the morning was also lovely. Don’t bother with the restaurant in the evening for dinner though. Food was the worst we had in Italy, service was poor (waiter never brought our drinks and never came back), also there was a cover charge that was not disclosed- for the exact same view we had in our room. Could have just stayed there for free. I would definitely come back to the hotel.

This property exceeded our expectations and has an excellent location, 5 minute walk to everything. This having been our first visit to Positano, we got so lucky with this hotel; I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we come back. The staff was very welcoming from the front desk to the restaurant. The included breakfast was a perfect way to start our day. The room was very large with unexpected amenities like a robe and slippers. We stayed in a classic room with patio (no view) but were pleasantly surprised with a sun room that had a private jacuzzi and bifold doors that opened up to the beautiful Positano hillside. We absolutely live this place!

So many better options -don’t waste on a nightmare
This was the worst part of our honeymoon. Start to finish, awful. We spent much more than we normally would to book this hotel for our honeymoon because it also overlapped with my husbands birthday. I cannot say how much of a mistake it was to book here. We thought we booked a patio, but upon arrival the hotel blamed “Expedia” (we booked booking.com) for misrepresenting the most expensive room I have ever booked. They said our balcony was just a door opening into a wall, then charged us 150 euros per night for a real balcony. The real balcony was uninhabitable due to the diesel smell, which they said was not their fault as it was a usual occurrence from the hotel below. The “view” from the balcony which was expensive and our biggest regret in spending the “upsell” (which when we tried to reverse we couldn’t) was only of the other hotel roof. Truly a criminal waste of money. Not only that, we were given two rooms WITHOUT A SHOWER. I am all for being flexible, but I felt horrified having to do my honeymoon with the cleanliness of odd baths. The side of the tub fell on my leg! I wish we could get these three days back even more than I wish we could get the money back, which is a tremendous amount for us. I apologized so much to my husband for having chosen this place. Also EVERYTHING was an extra charge. Pool at 6PM? €60. Not stated online. Extra. Ice? Extra. Barbara and Giovanni were a joke among the guests for their notorious unhelpful suggestions and misleading statements

The location and view are incredible, after that L Ancora, falls apart, the bed is a poor excuse, the mattress was old, there was only one pillow for each person. The heat and air were subjective, not sure if there was any. We needed to iron some clothing and found that the only way to do this was give them to the front desk and pay 5E each. The breakfast was poor and outdoors, the temp was in the low 50's so everything was cold including us. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and could not recommend that either, my wives chicken was not thoroughly cook and when we let them know they did not remove it from the check. Would pay a little more and stay somewhere else. Also seem when booking through Hotels. Com you are givien the worst room in a property. We notices this throughout our trip and wonder if using Hotels.Com is worthwhile?

We stayed in a room with huge balcony. The view was stunning. The balcony was beautiful with potted flowers and can comfortably accommodate 20 people. We travelled with four other people. Everyday we enjoyed lounging on the balcony eating, drinking, chatting, or just doing nothing except enjoying the view. It made our stay so much more fun. I strongly recommend booking this hotel and a room with balcony.

Hotel L'Ancora was a great choice for us. We wanted to splurge on a hotel to ensure that we would get the postcard view that Positano is known for and for that they did not disappoint. The room we had had a great terrace overlooking the view and beach you could hear the waves, a large bathroom with a jacuzzi soaking tub (no stand up shower) and a very comfortable bed (two full size beds pushed together). The only reason I would say I didn't enjoy this hotel was because of an interaction we had with concierge. We called down to ask for a taxi to take us to a nearby town and were given an outrageous. I assumed that was for a private driver so I asked again for a local taxi, nothing extravagant and he said that that's all they can get. So besides the need to upsell, and the lack of a stand up shower in our room, this hotel is great. Breakfast which is included was great. They have a new outside patio overlooking that awesome view. They also have an \"American\" breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes) with the usual pastries and espresso. It was also centrally located, close enough to the beach, plenty of shops, restaurants and drink options. No swimming pool (you can go to the sister hotel) but the beach is a 5 min walk away. There were also lots of tiny flies everywhere--not sure if that's an issue for the hotel or just because we left a window open!

I was very pleased by this hotel and felt relieved I chose it for our magical stay in Positano. I travelled with my husband and 3yo son. We got a superior double room with an amazing postcard view. I loved waking up and stepping out everyday and enjoying the view. My son loved the jacuzzi and took some epic bubble baths. The location is perfect. High enough to see the spectacular overview of water and stacked buildings but low enough it wasn't a far walk to the beach with toddler in tow. There's a pharmacy and grocert nearby and pretty much close to the center area. The hotel is beautiful and modern. Very clean and customer service is helpful. The only thing was that the WiFi was down our first day there but it was back up the next day & being in this magical place it was all good!

Well kept hotel above the main beach of Positano, with amazing views, close to the center of town. Jr Suite had a great deck and hot tub. Parking is 20 euros per night, and you need cash. Hotel is a little further up the street than indicated on Google maps.

The hotel manager was not letting us in the room since we did not carry our US Passports. Some of us had our passports, but our kids did not. They has Ohio Govt issued Driver's License. He was very belligerent and not coorporative at all. We drove for 7 hours to get to Positano, and finally, he let us in the room. He Never cracked a smile !!!

The staff was incredible- Alfredo and Margherita were absolutely helpful and wonderful. Our room was spectacular and the hotel itself was definitely was definately the best view that Positano could ever have. The balcony was incredible and we couldn't have had a better time. 100% reccomended and we are even thinking of possibly having our wedding there or at its sister hotel. Very pleased with the time we had and would recommend to anyone! Bellissima!
