I visit three or four times a year but this time was my worse experience all Managment don’t know any thing ,very loud drilling start early in the morning ,all nite I work online and in the morning can’t have rest

Hotel has a good location and vintage look but is going through constant neglect.

Staff is rude, and apparently not interested in dealing with guests, treating them with absolute no respect. The rooms are small, poorly maintained with uncleaned sheets and carpet. Bathroom is going through decay, with stains on the marble floor and walls...showing that it wasn't thoroughly cleaned in ages. Bathroom accessories are broken or at the Verge of breakage.

Overall a below average experience, given that I could have spend night at Marriott by paying 4-5 thousand more.
Breakfast is the only good thing from the stay. I ll definitely not be staying there again.

Karachi has very few high quality hotels. Avari is one of those. The property is clean and most of the staff is helpful and courteous. However it looks like the furniture, carpets and inside of the rooms have not been upgraded for some time and appear dated. The Airport shuttle is on time and helpful.

I had an excellent stay at the Avari Hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—always going the extra mile to assist.

What really stood out were the unique amenities: an on-site barber, currency exchange, and even a fleet of cars available for guests, which made getting around the area super convenient. The room was thoughtfully stocked with extras like a dental kit, shaving kit, and shoe shine kit, which I’ve rarely seen even in high-end hotels.

The food was great, and service across the board was consistently top-notch. The only thing I wish they offered was the ability to buy a local mobile SIM or plan on-site instead of having to go to an external store.

Would absolutely recommend staying here—great value, excellent service, and lots of thoughtful touches.

Disappointing Experience with Poor Coordination an

I booked this hotel through Hotels.com, expecting a seamless experience, but unfortunately, it was far from that. The hotel advertised a complimentary shuttle service, yet none was available upon our arrival. When I called the hotel, I was told they didn’t have a reservation under my name. The representative promised to call back in 10 minutes but never did. I had to call again and was repeatedly told there was no reservation.

After a frustrating back-and-forth, during which I emphasized that I had a paid receipt from Hotels.com, the matter was escalated to the duty manager. The manager eventually found my reservation, but it was listed under Expedia.com. This issue between Hotels.com and the hotel needs to be resolved.

We finally reached the hotel two hours after arriving in the city. While the duty manager offered us an early check-in as a gesture, it felt like the bare minimum given the inconvenience we endured.

The hotel itself is average at best and definitely not worthy of a 5-star rating. It is also significantly overpriced. During our stay, weddings were held almost every evening, particularly at the pool area, making it impossible for other guests to relax there. Perhaps this was due to peak season, but it added to the overall disappointment.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially given the poor coordination, lack of service, and inflated prices.

In Karachi there are not many options for upscale stays. So Avari is one of them. The rooms are on the smaller size and price is steep. Breakfast choices dont change much daily. Air conditioning is a major negative for this hotel. During the Karachi it was not possible to make the room feel warmer. Thermostat changing did not do anything even after bringing it to the attention of the management.

All was great, liked the property and the value it adds to the city and its attractions. BUT, the staff is focusing TOO MUCH on other things rather than the pleasure of their guests. I saw a lot of formality and lack of genuineness. The staff is not trained ( my personal opinion) on diversity and miss-judges people based on their own assumptions rather than trusting the guest’s credibility. Again I say, The property is great.

This was my second stay in December. First stay was for one night and all good. This stay was for 8 nights and booked two rooms for family. I asked in advance for connecting rooms. When we arrived we were offered one room on 9th floor and second on 6th floor. This was not suitable for family with young kids so they gave us two rooms on second Smoking floor. These rooms smelt of smoke and were old and dirty. After complaining, we were offered two connecting rooms on third floor but was charged a lot more money extra. Not very good service as half of our stay, there were no towels in our rooms. These were bought up after a telephone call. Rooms are tired and old and in need of renovation. Would not stay here again

Housekeeping staff keeps ringing the room bell to ask if we need anything. They wake me up at least three times. They are mainly after the tip.
The room key stopped working. I had to go down to the reception to get it fixed 3 times in my 2 nights' stay. According to their staff, it gets deactivated if it is kept near to mobile phone. Funny!

Awful room, uneven and broken flooring, I paid $300 per night for a King Bed but was given a smaller bed so had to sleep on mattress on the ground. Breakfast was terrible, the Executive lounge barely any food worth eating, struggled to get a Diet Coke. Hot water system would push hot water into the cold water system every morning. Very silly glass doors that don’t even join for the bathroom. Staff were friendly but management obviously don’t care. This is not the best hotel in Karachi, they must be giving themselves fake reviews. Will never stay there again!

At check in our room wasn’t ready. The King room we paid for ended up being 2 twin beds. Then they shoved the 2 twins together to say it’s a King. The mattresses were at different heights.
They only cleaned the room 2 x the whole week. They forgot to leave towels & the bath Matt after the 1st clean. There was no hair dryer in the area that says “hair dryer”.
The rest was very good. The people apart from house keeping are terrific and try to be helpful.

Pictures are deceiving. I will never stay at this property.
I got the Executive Suite (most expensive after presidential suite)
The housekeeping staff like Nazia, Danish and Warsha were amazing, super polite and humble.House keeping did the best they could with what they have.
The front desk staff are rude and very unprofessional.
The hotel itself is very old and nasty. There was black water dripping from the ceiling of the washroom through the pot light and smoke coming out of it. The sink was filthy. Bathroom is mold infested. Flooring is old and filthy.
Beds have a sink hole in them, gave me back pain for days.
Waste of money for $250/night.
I had it reserved for 10 nights but checked out after 3 nights.

The Avari NameIs No Longer Prestigious

I’ve stayed at the Avari before without issue, however, this past experience has solidified the fact that I will likely not ever stay here again.

To begin with, I had requested an early check-in of which the hotel knew of and APPROVED near a month in advance. Upon arriving, I was told to wait for a room to become available as they had completely ignored and forgotten my arrival. I waited in the lobby for over 4+ hours to get a room - absolutely unacceptable.

Furthermore, we had paid over PKR 15,000+ tax for a board room to host a few meetings….and they began construction right next door. Very unprofessional.

My stay with Avari was for a week and initially had a bad start with delayed check in and major congestion at the reception area as the lobby is a bit on the smaller side when compared to other hotels of similar stature . Thereafter the internet speeds in the room were just so slow that each time I had to do some work (which was crucial office work) I had to come down to the lobby area despite my complaints to the reception staff for 2 days continuous. Eventually the IT manager arranged a special router with a separate password which then resolved the issue. Apparently that part of the building had issues with the wifi router. In any event the IT manager whose name I cant recall did his part to get my connection stable so kudos to him. Other staff worth mentioning is the front desk young lady by name of Arouba who went out of her way to provide information on mobility and transport as well as assisting with very important documentation print outs which were required for COVID checks. She was very helpful throughout our stay so 5 stars to her as well. Other than that the food at breakfast was yummy with broad variety and options of continental and Pakistani dishes. halwa puree was the best !!! so in the end a great stay !!
