The location is good & very convenient. Unfortunately our room smelled like terrible mildew/mold and the hallway smelled like disgusting body odor.
The staff were friendly and did give us an air purifier to help with the smell. It helped but wasn't pleasant.
There is a spa functioning on the first floor and I did get a masaage which i enjoyed.
Overall, I was very disappointed and would not recommend.

My experience here was alright. The room wasn’t the most spacious — I could open my two suitcases, but it was a little annoying having to walk over them and maneuver around. The hotel does have a laundry room, which I appreciated. However, just a heads up: the dryers don’t really dry. I was surprised to find my clothes still quite wet even after hours in the dryer. I wish the staff had mentioned this beforehand when I asked them about the laundry room. I later realized this might be common in Japan, where people often air-dry their clothes instead. Just something to keep in mind!

This hotel is situated at the prime area of Gion. Subway is just a few minutes walk away. Most of the attractions are nearby. The staffs can speak English very well and very helpful. Room is adequate for 3 persons. I will definitely booked this hotel the time I visit Kyoto.

The hotel is located in Gion area and it was amazing. The staff speak English and the check-in/check-out process was quick and smooth. The rooms are spacious and clean. Few steps away is the Hard Rock Cafe and the main shopping street is across the hotel from the main road. Gion is packed with sightseeing shrines and temples. Some of them have a light show at night. This hotel is awesome. I’m definitely coming back again

Great location between the busier shops and the more traditional areas of Gion. This hotel room was huge compared to some of its counterparts in Tokyo. Comfy bed, great bathroom and shower. Walking distance to trains and buses. Loved it.

The hotel lobby was very basic and very small, but the room we stayed at was surprisingly big (compared to the other hotels we stayed at). The area was overall safe to walk even late at night. The man who checked us in and out, Mr. Niimi was pleasant, polite and helpful. He was very helpful in getting us a taxi to take us to the train station. On the day of our departure, we asked to store our luggage and the woman at the front desk (she was very petite, had a short “bob” hairstyle and wearing a mask) was rude and she was rather short/terse with us. She wasn’t friendly and it was difficult to talk to her. That’s why I only gave 4 stars for staff and service.

A great little place to stay in Gion, staff were very attentive and approachable and spoke English which helped me as my Japanese was very limited. Great area, we could get buses to Kyoto station frequently and then go out from there to all the sites. Family mart close by for lunch and dinners if you did not wish to dine out. Loved our stay.

数回目の滞在で、京阪四条駅から近くて便利なので使用しています。和風のホテルで、コーヒーと緑茶のサービスが室内にあって助かります。ただ、チェックアウト時間が10時と早目なので、もう1時間遅いと嬉しいです。

A real hidden Gem

An economy hotel but excellent location (Gion), friendly staff and comfortable bed! Laundry room is available (coin operated) -very easy to use. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic - walking distance to the train station and food area over the bridge. The room is small and cleaning is per request and the beds are very comfortable. Its clean and very practical. There are many places to eat and shop in the Gion area including all the tourist sites. Great hotel and a real hidden gem !

Like every Japan hotel, the rooms are small so we expected that. It is extremely hot outside so it does not help that there is no air conditioning in the hallways or elevator. The air conditioning in the room is not the greatest either. It is right above the bed and changes constantly making it either too cold or hot. The hotel room however is clean and staff are helpful

Great Stay in Gion

Loved the location and nice, clean rooms. The hotel provided free luggage storage while we were out of town for one night on a day-trip. It also has a nice little restaurant, Gyoza8, which serves up a good selection of Gyozas. Only downside is that they don't provide room cleaning service unless you ask for it.

No room with a view but a good option for a short

The rooms were as exepected, small compact but definitely clean. The staff was great and friendly, prompt on check out(they’ll call or knock at 10 AM).

The neighborhood is ideal as it’s across the bridge from everything, a brisk walk. In terms of culture, across the bridge is more metropolitan and cosmo where the hotel is is definitely a working class community.

We also noticed that the street becomes what looks to be lady bars or clubs at night, mainly thurs-sat. So don’t be surprised if you see plenty of Japanese business men by the droves hitting up the clubs.

Como nossa passagem por Kyoto foi muito breve, talvez se tivesse pego um hotel próximo a estação tivesse sido melhor. A localização do hotel é bem no fervo, como dormimos de janela aberta, sentíamos um cheiro muito forte de cigarro e frituras a noite toda. Além de barulho. Mas talvez se a janela estivesse fechada teríamos evitado. Para nos locomover lá, andamos bastante… novamente, não sei se pela localização ou pelo meio de transporte da cidade mesmo. Mas no geral atendeu a nossa necessidade e corresponde ao valor da hospedagem.

Piccolo Hotel molto carino in una traversa del Corso principale di Kyoto. In posizione tranquilla giri l’angolo e ti trovi tutto il centro di kyoto a piedi. Utile la possibilità di utilizzare lavatrice asciugatrice con pochi yen. Vicino alla fermata del bus, fondamentale per girare Kyoto. Consigliatissimo.

위치가 너무 좋아서 두번째 방문입니다.
교토 최고의 번화가인 가와라마치라서 데라마치, 기온, 산조까지 도보로 이동가능합니다. 버스노선도 많아 교토지역 어디든 접근이 편리합니다.
교토에서 제일 인기있는 관광지인 기요미즈데라는 걸어갈 수 있고, 아라시야마는 한큐 열차를 이용하면 빠르게 갈 수 있습니다.

호텔로 올 때 오사카쪽이라면 게이한 기온시조역이나 한큐 교토가와라마치역에서 내려서 걸어오면 됩니다. 간사이공항에서 온다면 보통 교토역에서 내릴텐데 짐들고 버스타는것보다 택시로 오는걸 추천합니다(교토역에서 택시요금은 2000엔 안쪽)

이번엔 방이 1층이라 로비에서 바로 들어갈 수 있는건 장점이었지만 창문앞이 막혀있던건 단점이였네요.

이외에 사용한 수건을 복도에 내놓으면 수건은 매번 요청하지 않아도 채워주셔서 편리했습니다.

1층에 세탁기와 건조기가 있고, 대기할 수 있는 공간도 있어서 편리하게 사용할 수 있었습니다.

Très bon hôtel, bien situé dans Gion.
Propreté, chambres qui ne donnent pas l’impression d’être à l’étroit, toilette séparé de la salle de bain, climatisation, équipements à disposition et rangements.
Machines à laver dispo en libre service pour 200Y (+100Y pour dose de lessive) et 100Y pour 30 min de sèche linge.
Point négatif : la clim n’a que des boutons écrits en japonais…
