AWFUL! I honestly have no idea how this hotel can claim it is 5-star. Came to Bali on our honeymoon and decided to book this resort as a treat (we rarely stay in 5-star accommodation). Was so excited to have a premium experience and relax but we were met with the complete opposite. This resort has some SERIOUS work to do if they want to maintain their 5-star claims.

* Rooms have no soundproofing. Kept awake or woken up every night.
* Major construction on both sides of hotel which nobody warned us of
* No where near enough staff around - especially the pool area. No towels at desk. Monkeys knocking over drinks and taking things.
* A staff member called our room at 11.30pm waking us up.
* Rooms in bad shape. Tatty over-used robes. Broken light fixtures.
* breakfast buffet is average. Cold food.

This is just touching the surface. Avoid this place at all costs.

After a slight delay on checking-in (room not ready and a bit slow to resolve), we were shown to a lovely, spacious room. Beautiful pool area and good restaurant and bar service. Walk to beach was a bit hairy down some precarious steps to local beach but great sundowners a short walk along beach (nothing to do with hotel - maybe this should be made a bit clearer). Overall a good experience, would stay again.

--Very nice, luxurious, big and technological rooms
--Modern decor and new
--Very nice & friendly staff

Cons:

-- Saw 2 live roaches in the breakfast buffet in just two visits, literally walking on and around the food. I also had one in my table, over the sugar packets. I could not feel at ease eating there after that. If they have roaches over the buffet I cannot imagine what the kitchen must be like.

-- The ocean is not visible at all from the hotel. I chose this hotel for uts location on a cliff to be able to see the ocean at least. But it feels like as if being in the middle of a forest.

-- The beach is about a 15 min VERY STEEP, And VERY UNSAFE climb, and it is outside of the hotel compunds. No hand rails on most parts of it and very steep steps. It is not apt for seniors or persons with knee/hip surgeries.

--- NO beach equipment whatsoever down at the beach, so you are on your own and on a very tiny beach area with no people around. In other words, not a veach to lounge.

-- Breakfast was not good in my opinion. It seemed large at first but later found that it was more quantity than quality. Most hot dishes were not good, or too stale or too spicy. I could not find mych that I liked.

Lots of monkeys at the property!! Felt quite safe. Just have to becareful with food laying around the monkeys will come snatch you!! Hotel staff usually helps looking after you. I get to witness a monkey stealing the lobby cookie jar!! It was hilarious!! The monkeys don’t bother me, entertainment and drama everyday :)

Long story short when we first arrived in Uluwatu we checked into an awful hotel where we checked out within the hour. We booked Raddison Blu straight away, and within the next hour we were there. It was late at night and the staff were very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us, especially after finding out about the terrible day we had. The hotel is beautiful, the food was amazing and every staff member went above and beyond. The rooms are excellent, the room we had was big, immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. I personally love the monkey’s around the site but they are mischievous so be aware (much like everywhere else) The staff do keep an eye on them and will get them to move away. I got a lovely video of them playing in the pond by reception :) overall i would highly recommend this hotel and i hope to come back one day. Thank you to everyone at Raddison for making sure we had a great stay!

The property is stunning with beautiful gardens, the staff are exceptional. The pool is really big and the perfect depth to relax. There is a bar or club close to the hotel which you can hear the music. Turndowns weren’t done every night. Kids above us jumping and screaming at all times of the day made the stay unpleasant.

The pool area is beautiful, lots of options to lay around, order some lunch and you could spend all day not even leaving the hotel here. Finally, the staff are very kind and welcoming. Access thru the back gate should be later than 7pm or have a security guard to let people in after 7pm to until 9pm, as this was a inconvenience and danger to have to walk the path that is unpaved/unsealed with no lighting along side the hotel or have to go all the way round to the front driveway a long walk back to hotel lobby.

When you pay 5* prices you expect a 5* experience, which Radisson Blu Uluwatu unfortunately failed to provide.

When we checked in, we dropped our bags prior to check in and returned a few hours later to find them still chilling in the heat of the hotel lobby.

The room closets had smudges on them from previous guests and stains on furniture.

When we requested thinner pillows to sleep on, the staff didn't understand what we were talking about and said they only come in one (very large) size.

Staff seemed very inexperienced and got flustered at the most basic requests. Significant language barrier, even with reception staff.

Restaurants that provided room service were both very expensive for tiny portions and below average taste.

Hotel provide 4 x 300ml bottles of water per room per day, which means you have to keep ringing reception to have more dropped off.

The positives were monkeys that we got to see on our balcony but overall there are better alternatives for the money.

Loved our stay, staff were so helpful and friendly, great breakfast (loved that we could request to order hashbrowns and eggs to taste etc) we did not book a sea view room however we had such a nice room with a sea view and pool view so think we was upgraded which is amazing! We also had a small bottle of red wine and a cake with “enjoy your stay” decorated on the plate waiting for us which was so nice! Great location with some really nice restaurants/cafes nearby. (Ours was a favourite for us)

However as it is 5* I do feel like the pool facilities (sun loungers and pool towels) could be upgraded as they were just basic metal ones, that were not cushioned and the towels were starting to show their wear Also I have usually received a glass of champagne on arrival at previous 5* resorts with the option of a glass of bubbly at breakfast too which we didn’t have but that is not a dealbreaker at all, just for comparison compared to previous experiences at 5*, Maybe as it’s not an adults only resort? Also hotel prices for food and drink were weirdly priced with some items being extremely overpriced , £7 for a single corona!!! (but around £8 for cocktails)

We were also allowed to use the spa facilities after we had checked out to shower/freshen up before going for dinner and then again to prepare for our flight! (I did my hair and makeup in there as there was plug sockets by the mirrors)

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at raddison blu and would definitely recommend

Food was delicious at both restaurants. Breakfast buffet had tons of options. Beware of monkeys around the property. Do not leave your belongings unattended. Live DJ and bars were great :)

Photo misleading, no easy access to the beach unless you are super fit. Breakfast spread limited and not great quality I’m afraid.
Rooms are spacious and beds are good.
If you want to see other sites like Ubud, Seminyak, prepare to for 1.5-2hr in car each way. Traffic everywhere.

Loved staying at Radisson Blu Uluwatu. It was complete five stars from everything to the comfort of the bed to the bath salts, shampoos etc. The only thing I didn't like was the Italian restaurant Filini. They charge $8 for a bottle of water. It took 90 mins and my husband hadn't received his beer and the food was barely enough for a tiny human. The prawns were served with 3 prawns and 1 head. 5 x Ravioli. Put a mark on our trip and didn't want to spend any more. We paid $150 for a meal and then went out and ate

The grounds, rooms and hotel are very nice.
Unlike many other hotels in Bali, the service here is extremely economical. Complimentary water (which you also need in the bathroom for brushing your teeth) is limited to a maximum of 350ml per person and will not be increased even when requested. Besides coffee, other hot drinks are only available at breakfast for an extra charge (although breakfast is included).
There is only their own taxi service (7x more expensive than the local taxi). They did not want to order a local taxi driver - and own orders are blocked at the far away hotel entrance.
Service number \"0\" blocked/staffed for hours. If you have questions, you always have to go to the lobby.

Extra hours of commute to your daily tours

I knew Hotel is out of the way from most of the action. But I did not expect their ridiculous policy that I am not allowed to arrange for my own taxi with the local taxi app, unless I walk down a 15 min dark rainy road to the Main Street. Hotel only allows taxis on their property that are arranged through them, at a much higher pre-arranged rate. I am also upset that they no longer offer the free shuttle to the nearby temple with the nightly fire dance. Next time I will not book this hotel or any hotel south of the airport because traffic added two hours to our daily tours (this hotel is far south and away from everything. Their beach (impossible beach) is very small and not worth the 100’s of steps down the hill. Many rocks on beach that bruised our legs from strong waves. Food in hotel was way too expensive but I paid their high rates because we were too tired to walk down to the main road with our baby. There are three other places to eat on main road, but if it’s raining or if you had a long day, you are stuck with the hotels high prices.

If you like peace and quiet this is the place to stay. There’s no shopping or food choices outside of the hotel, so be prepared before you arrive. As it’s secluded there’s no cab or private car service, you would have to depend on concierge to help you to book at a higher price. Otherwise it’s a pleasant resort to stay, which would have been nicer if there were more chairs to relax in shaded areas. It would also have been nice if there was direct access to the beach. They offer a great breakfast spread and free shuttle service to a nearby beach and Uluwatu temple.

We had a wonderful stay. Service, food and facilities are excellent. The hotel is however not very close to the main points of interest in Uluwatu.
