Great location for beach stay

We stayed 4 nights at the Bombora surf camp. Overall our stay was good, the pool is in good condition and refreshing after the beach. The room had comfy beds, a good location and AC. The only downsides would be the sliding doors to enter the room don’t close completely so geckos can get in and the bathroom/shower don’t have AC in them (so very humid). It didn’t bother us, but at night the hotel is close to a bar so we can hear music until 1-2 am.

Loved this tucked away spot! Our suite was great. Absolutely no complaints. Had a beautiful hillside view. When we initially arrived, my friend and I booked a studio for a couple of nights, and the shower water seemed to have a bit too much chlorine, but there was an outside shower by the pool that we’d use and that water seemed perfectly fine. We spent most of our time at the nearby beach.

Bed is like concrete with a tiny thin pillow like you get on a plane. No fridge to keep water cold or hair dryer. There was work going on opposite pool so felt awkward laying out. Door isn't fully sealed to room so loads of bugs get in, there were 17 spiders in the bathroom, so it was apparent it hadn't been cleaned well. More like a hostel than hotel.

Super friendly and helpful staff, had a great room upstairs with a view of the mountainside and nature. Not the most ideal for a business trip as there’s no desk in the Superior room, but it was perfect for our short stay! Would definitely recommend.

The staff try & I feel they do their best with what they have. The room itself was quite dirty & below par. We found a used RAT Test (COVID) on the ground behind TV when plugging in a phone charger.
In terms of noise, we were woken up on numerous times at 3-4am with people coming home. Not really recommend for a family, as this felt more of a Hostel style accommodation.

The room was consistently damp and smelt like mould with mould in the bathroom and centipede bugs all around. It was quite dirty. They then messed up my surf lesson booking 3x, and when they finally booked it they then didn’t tell the instructor I was an intermediate and bringing my own surfboard after I asked them to confirm this. The instructor then couldn’t take me out that day and also asked for extra money the next day. Worst of all, on checkout they escorted me to back to my room and pointed at a mud mark on the sheet and then tried to charge us 400k before even putting it in the wash (mind you it had been raining for 3 days). I refused to pay this as it will easily come out in the washing machine. It was also horrible customer service and made me question whether they actually wash their quilt covers after every customer. The breakfast was not very good and an extra cost. Apart from that it’s a good location and a nice pool area. I am not sure why with the amount of staff they have they don’t keep the rooms in a better cleaning condition.

We Got put into Room 101, and a very repulsive smell was there… we told the reception the day after, and got transferred to a new room, good service. New room turned out to be without the smell, but because of poorly ventialation and badly closed doors to the bathroom in both rooms, everything got very moist. The beds were like a wet towell that couldn’t dry.. nothing to say about the service, but the rooms were not up to standards.

You definitely get your money’s worth because it is quite cheap. Felt more like we were staying in a private hostel. Our sheets didn’t get cleaned and we never got additional toilet paper so we stole some haha. But the pool was beautiful and the location was prime for beaches. So just don’t expect to much and you’ll be fine!

The property does not look like the photos advertised. The pool and seating area are completely different to the photos. I checked into the property for 3 nights but left after one. The cleanliness of the rooms was a disgrace. The towels were filthy as were the bed sheets. However the nail in the coffin was the horrendous off egg smell of the room which got progressively stronger through the night. The design of the shower tray was poor meaning that when you showered water would shoot across the whole bathroom floor and actually leak into the bed room. The toilet flush also emitted a foul odour too. It was impossible to see clean in the property. The staff were friendly however this did not mitigate the poor standards of the property.

Property was alright. I've paid the same price in Bali and got a lot better. Maybe it's cheaper for Uluwatu, didn't stay in the area long enough to find out. Nice pool and cheap food. Just couldn't get over the really humid and musty smell in the room. I'm not picky but it was pretty strong.

You can do better - not worth the cost & Not clean

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The bed was gross and the sheets hardly looked clean. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. Went to shower shortly after check in and the drain clogged. They were nice enough to change our room but the next one looked the same (sans clogged drain). The towels were fluffy and warm but stained and smelled so rancid that we couldn’t use them. The bed made for an impossible sleep from springs digging into our sides, while half the mattress was collapsed and excessively creaky. It was quite noisy outside the main door as well as through the bathroom window which faced the alley, which woke us up both mornings. The toiletries in both rooms were not properly stocked - had to ask for toilet paper in the first room and in the second had to use shower gel as hand soap. Little things that shouldn’t be missed. The safety deposit box was not operational, having only 1 of the requisite batteries needed to function. The walls were marked and stained, and the room was poorly lit. Overall, it looked, felt, and smelled dingy in every way. We’ve been to a half dozen places in Bali and this was by far the worst. You can do much better for the price.

Great little place

I was at Bombora Surf Camp for one week and I was impressed with how the place looked exactly like the photos. Staff was very friendly and the hotel is located near to all main surf breaks (Uluwatu, Padang, Bingin). Although there is a café in the hotel, eating out was always the best option. When I arrived, there was no scooter available for hire but staff was very helpful in finding one for me at another hire location. If you plan to stay here, I suggest sending them an email and request your scooter in advance. It is the best and easiest way to get around the area. The only small issue was that there were some local road works which affected water and electricity for a day as they had to shut water and electricity for all street. Also, the plaace could use a better Wifi which only worked at the reception. There was no wifi in the room. That said, air conditioning was very good and bed very comfortable. I also found people staying there very friendly. Most of guests coming from Europe. This is a place for young adults. Not necessarily a place for a family with small kids. I would definitely recommend it for those going to Uluwatu area.

first I got 2 beds room which didn't look close to the photos on the site, after 2 days complaining, I got king size room, but rooms must get fixed (if its the door, wifi or the wall). overall the staff are very nice and good location too.

On one hand the staff seemed very nice when I was there but on the other there was nobody waiting for me when I arrived at the airport as promised. I waited over two hours and finally had to call to make them send somebody else. I had to leave early and asked for a refund on my last day but instead of replying and telling me no they just continue to ignore my messages even though I contact them several times. He did get me a charger converter which I like however the cost of Transport was completely inflated. I bought a round-trip ticket for over a million and a half and when I got to my destination I found out I could have got the same thing for 300,000 in Gili t. Not super impressed. Be cautious when using their transportation agent. Better to pay one way but only if necessary. Cheaper to book in another town because both the company and their agent charge way too much. Feels like I could have done better tbh.

I was the worst place I stayed in Bali! There were very dirty, a lot of ants and huge cockroaches it the room, they can come inside easily, because the holes are everywhere, it the doors, on the toilet window! When I asker a staff to nail on a Miskito net on the window in the toilet , they were only smiling say me ok, and later when I returned in the evening I saw that they did nothing. I was living there for 3 days and they never cleaned the room for these days and never changed linen. For the nomen and towels I have more comments, they are too dirty, have a lot of spots on them and grey color instead of white. The pool area is very dirty too, staff never take off rubbish around the pool. So if you have left something (a bottle from beer or sigarette buds) there in the evening, you'll find it tomorrow on the same place.

Fine place for backpacking

The hotel is a basic room and place to stay. If your really picky about cleanliness (i.e. Stained sheets) then maybe not your place to stay. Every morning the water stops working for awhile but usually we would be out to the beach by then. Pool is nice, lounge area is good. 15 minute walk to Padang Padang beach. We enjoyed our stay here while backpacking although it is just the basics.

Don't even think about it.

Each night the power went out... eight different times. The hot water didn't work at all, the wifi was the most terrible we've ever dealt with in our travels (you can't even call it wifi) and there were more mosquitos & ants in our room than outside. We work on our computers for our livelihood and they clearly advertise wifi in the rooms on their listing. Their incompetence literally almost cost us our jobs. The mornings were woken to power drills at 8:30am. As part of their construction they turned off the water so we couldn't even use the bathroom. At this point the aircon stopped working as well. I'd guess I averaged 4 hours of sleep per night.

At this point we were already distressed from the living conditions but to add insult to injury the staff lied to our faces. When we asked them to call a Blue Bird metered taxi to take to Kuta the one staff member told me \"Blue bird doesn't come out here\" and then conveniently tried to convince me to take the hotel's private car for $30 because it's \"the only option\" in his words. I took a blue bird out here from Kuta in the first place so I knew something was wrong about this, so I called the taxi company myself and asked to pick me up in the morning. They said it was no problem at all and I had a driver waiting. It cost me $6, literally 500% cheaper than the 'service' the hotel was forcing on me. For anyone stuck at this hotel, call Blue Bird at 62 (0) 851008 99990, don't be conned by these people.

Great stay at bombora

Central hotel between Padang Padang, uluwatu and bingin beaches. You will need a scooter to explore which are available to hire at the hotel. Otherwise most of the good restaurants/warungs and Padang Padang beach are within walking distance. Drivers available to take you to local sights and other surf breaks in Bali. Staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great pool area to relax.

Bombora was a decent stay. Great location with cheap scooters to rent onsite. My only issue was that the room smelled like a bathroom stall. There is only a lose slider door connecting the bathroom/shower to the bedroom and I think this has been an issue before since there were 6 powerfully scented air fresheners giving me a headache after the first night. Not sure if all the rooms smelled like ours but hopefully management will address.

Nice room, clean, AC ok, good Tv and wifi. The service is ok and prople is very friendly. We rented a bike from there to go around (is the best way in that area). They don't have a restaurant but 2 minutes walking is the Buddha soul restaurant. Organic food, amazing! We went there 3 days to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Best option if you want lo eat healthy.

Great price , amazing accomadation

Bombora surf camp was a great stay , from friendly awesome staff , and beautiful gardens that made me really feel like I was in Bali with it's awesome views , perfect pool and super comfy massive day bed , bean bags and my favourite the hammock looking over the hills , plus the nature ( like the frogs down hill chirping and squirrels in the trees ) .
I ended up staying longer then I'd planned .
My room was so comfy , massive bed and crisp clean look , plus the TV with heaps of channels and USB port , aircon and a shower that changed colours with temperature ( so cool ) .
I didn't want to leave it was close to so many of my new favourite things like uluwatu beach , restaurants and Padang Padang beach , and cachos Mexican food :).
I'll always come back here when in Bali , I highly recommend it .

Great atmosphere

The room and linens were clean and secure with a personal safe. Air con worked really well. Also satellite tv in each room. The large outdoor common space was great for meeting fellow travellers. The manager Amitesh was so friendly and helpful. He really goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and to help you out with any questions about not just the area, but Bali as a whole. Bombora was able to arrange for car transport as well as scooter rentals at a very reasonable price. Thank you Amitesh!

Sadly the Hotel is not how it looks in the pictures. The rooms Are super small and dirty. Further there was barely coming Water out of the shower so it was Impossible for me as a Woman to properly wash my hair because there was Not enough Water coming out of the shower to get the shampoo out of my hair again. Also there is a nightclub next to the Hotel wich you hear really loud through the holes in the bathroom wall. There was also no real door to close the bathroom, so this was also Not an Option against the loud music. The worst were the receptionists. The women were really unfriendly.
During our stay we also recognised several people who wanted to change their rooms and Bad issues with the Hotel staff. We ourselfs rented a Scooter from the Hotel and were pressured to pay 220k at the end for some damage we didnt cause or otherwise they threaten to call the Police.

I loved staying at Bombora. The hotel is close to main road and restaurants, but still very nice and quiet. The room was nice and clean, comfy bed and excellent aircon. Staff was really nice and helpful, and pool area fantastic! Made lots of friends here during my first week in Bali.

Photos sûrement prises lors de l'ouverture de l'hôtel. Nous avons séjourné une nuit en septembre 2023, c'était insalubre, moisissure, poussière, rideaux dégueulasses, meubles brisés, draps tachés, etc. Ils n'ont

Really bad condition, dirty and smelly

Unfortunately this was one of the worst places my boyfriend and I have stayed at in Bali. There is one nice woman in the reception, and that’s the only positive thing we have to say about our stay.
The place itself was not in the best condition. There was construction work from early morning to late afternoon, making it very uncomfortable to hang out by the pool because of the noise.
The room was in a very bad condition. The bathroom was definitely the worst. It smelled so bad, like rotten eggs, probably coming from the drain or toilet. My boyfriend and I had to buy some cologne to spray, so that we could be in our room. The floors were NOT clean and there were a lot of animals in the room. Not to mention the worms coming up from the drain in the shower… EW! If you leave your key by the front desk you are supposed to get cleaning, but this was not that easy. One day we asked for it, but when we came back, they had never even been in the room. We then went to the reception and asked for cleaning again, and even told them that they didn’t need to change our sheets or towels, just wipe the floors and take care of the nasty bathroom. 30 minutes later TWO guys walks in our rooms and leaves about 1 minute later, done cleaning. They swept all the dirt under the bed and out to the sides and they didn’t even bother going out into the bathroom?? Where there were still dead worms from yesterday laying in the middle of the floor and in the shower. AC also couldn’t cool the room down…

Detta var ett av dom värsta boenden jag har bott på. Hela stället är fuktskadat och mögligt. Det är så fuktigt i rummet att sängen är helt blöt och det droppar vatten från taket. Detsamma med golven, dyngsura. Vi var tvungna att byta rum för att rummet vi fick först var i så pass dåligt skick att vi inte kunde bo där. Det var en insektsfamilj som bodde på golvet bakom gardinerna. Det var inte städat från dom förra gästerna så det var någon typ av sås på hyllorna. Våra sängkläder och handdukar luktade extremt surt. Det låg nudlar i vasken. Helt enkelt bara extremt dåligt. Det enda som var bra var personalen. De var jättetrevliga och hjälpsamma med tvätt, transport och guide med mera. Men det räckte tyvärr inte för att få ett bra betyg av mig. Jag kommer inte rekommendera någon att bo här och jag kommer definitivt inte komma tillbaka.

Bra läge med trevlig personal och fräscht rum! Fanns en del brister så som handtag som var lösa och tvålpumpar som inte satt fast ordentligt i väggen. Handfatet var lagat och inte så fräscht men i övrigt bra för pengarna.

The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is super friendly and very willing to help you out. During my stay we celebrated the birthday of the owner, she turned 70! I felt so welcomed here, absolutely amazing.

The location is perfect, in walking distance of Padangpadang beach, and only a few minutes by scooter/motorbike to other places near Uluwatu.

I highly recommend staying here.

Grym stämning hos både personal och andra gäster!

Superhärligt hotell med samtidig hostel-stämning med både härligt allmänt häng vid poolen och hos den hjälpsamma personalen! Förutom detta var både hotellet och rummet rena och fina med sköna sängar och kuddar. Vi hade också grym utsikt mot poolen och all natur bakom den. Nära till surf (såklart), men även härliga restauranger och caféer och dessutom hyr hotellet billigt ut scooters så att du även på det sättet tar dig till det mesta. De erbjuder även prisvärd transport. Vi hade velat stanna längre!
