The staff were amazing. Very caring and attentive. I used the spa facilities during my stay, and although the massage therapist was lovely, the facilities were not. It was not in an established room, but rather within a see-through material structure. This allowed no privacy. During my massage, I could hear crying children on one side and a couple arguing in the other. A proper spa facility, with privacy, nice smelling linen, music, etc would have added a lot to the overall experience.
Also, though the idea of the accommodation was really cool, it was somewhat rundown and could do with a coat of paint, new pool furniture and laundry services.

A lovely relaxing stay at this beautiful property. All staff were so welcoming and polite. The food was absolutely delicious.

The rooms are beautiful and better than the pictures. I loved all of the small touches - filtered glass water bottle replenished each day vs plastic bottles, including mini bar snack options, beach bag and pashminas and the suggestions on where to eat and visit.

I have already recommended this place to family and friends and will definitely be coming back here to stay.

Not as advertised! Beware

Completely inaccurate listing. The location is completely different. The room has no beach views, views of trash outside the windows… you can’t see outside the the windows as blinds are drawn (for a reason) horrific views. There’s no pool at the property, the photos are of a different location no where near the room. The shower overflows into the room. Air conditioning wasn’t working properly. Booked 3 nights checked out after a night and the property wouldn’t refund the remaining nights even after mentioning the problems and inaccuracies in the listing, such a terrible experience right at the start of an holiday. Hotels.com also failed to refund as the property wouldn’t allow it… even if the listings completely inaccurate!

Nice - But not quite what we expected

We stayed here over the Easter weekend. The main place with the pool looks amazing.

Unfortunately though, we had booked a \"deluxe\" sea view room which was quite a distance from the actual main hotel (and this isn't made very clear on the room listing).

As such we never got to use the pool or facilities at all which was a shame.

Also, the room had really weird power outlets so you couldn't easily plug in any travel adaptors which was annoying.

Plugging in a phone charger near the bed and it just fell out of the wall. You had to wedge the charger into place using the bedside cabinet. Completely bizarre and never known anything like it before.

Even the refrigerator plug couldn't be used as it had a weird notch thing that wouldn't allow another plug to be plugged in.

Seems trivial but was really inconvenient for no apparent reason.

The rooms also weren't really \"Deluxe\" - they are more like wooden shacks. This is fine as that is in keeping with the area of Bingin but I feel describing them as \"deluxe\" is again slightly misleading.

Overall was an ok stay. Not quite what we expected from the flashy listing but it did the job. Would I stay again? At the main facility possibly yes - the deluxe beach view room? Probably not. There are nicer properties here (such as Bale) for cheaper

Interesting set up. Waterfront apartment or pool Bure. Both a distance from each other. Apartment requires some hairy stair walking, so if you knees are shot stay at one of the buries. Simple but Lovely set up with very helpful nice friendly staff. A very relaxing vibe. Limited meal options but other choices available within walking distance. Not ideal for small children but great for late teens and above.

We stayed in the ocean view room. Stunning panoramic ocean view from the front patio. Great breakfast and friendly staff. You have to navigate a steep foot path with stairs to get to the rooms but the staff help with bags. Loved it. Highly recommend.

The pool area and restaurant area are stunning and really well maintained. We just stayed in a standard room and it was ok, a bit overpriced compared to other places we have stayed. It was quite basic and very dark with no view at all. Would like to have stayed in one of the other rooms or the beach location. It was a nice and peaceful day lace to stay.

happy to run you down the road. Breakfast was just perfect. The location is quiet and the pool area is a welcomed sanctuary. The decor is very cool and you won't have any trouble taking amazing holiday snaps here. There is a fantastic Italian restaurant just down the road which is a must to visit, you won't be sorry. I want to keep this place a secret so it won't be booked out next time I want to visit. The beach is a 10 minute walk with a lot of stairs involved but that adds to the character of the area. Beautiful. Relaxed perfection.

Good place to enjoy Bingin Beach and local area

Really nice hotel. Beautiful pools with comfortable seating all around it. Was nice to interact and meet other guests at breakfast and during our time lounging around the pool. When we first arrived we had booked a Seaview room which we did not realize ahead of time was actually about a 15 minute walk from the hotel location and down several sets of staircases which got very dark at night and was fairly difficult to come and go from because we were dealing with a knee injury. We ended up switching rooms and they were very gracious and helped us right away into a beautiful room with a lofted rooftop. All in all we had a great stay and really enjoyed the clean Decour. The breakfast is delicious. And it’s a close motorbike ride to all of the restaurants downtown. Probably too far to walk to most other locations in “downtown Pecatu” but not a problem.

Most beautiful weekend at Sal Secret Spot

Sal Secret Spot officially became my favorite hotel after our stay this weekend. The most beautiful hotel and the rooms were welcoming and comfortable. Above all, the service was impeccable. Every single worker there greeted guests with a smile and made sure every aspect of their stay was wonderful. Diego and Nila became almost family to us. We will recommend this hotel to everyone, and we will be back again!

I was expecting a lot before going there from insta& social media photos..
Area is the busy bingin beach area which lots of small hotels around..bingin beach area is not a clean place. Locals and chickens on the street..
staff is friendly but most hotels in bali was friendly staff..
Room definitely needs maintaining at least painting.. or fixing broken windows.
First room we stayed superior room, it was expensive than standard room.. i can see its littie bigger bathroom(littie bit of pravicy) but the room has no light.. when you close the door of room... so dark and needs to turn om the lights during day time...bathroom floor painting was bad.. at least painting floor will be nice. Too many chicken and bird is making a sounds from 4:30am until 7:30 you cant sleep late..
To get to the bingin beach was walking distance.. but if you needs to go somewhere around uluwatu, get a bike.. you cant get a taxi and only you can get a driver which is very expensive compare different place.. overall I expected a lot but if you fix few things it will be nice place..

Relaxing hotel very cool vibe and great feel. Pools and daybeds awesome as were the cocktails. Decor is fantastic and chic boho atmosphere.
The only improvement would be more bathroom amenities we felt it lacked the basics and electrical points were very hard to find. Could do with extra pillows and blankets.
Overall we did enjoy our stay.

Beautiful spot but mixed feelings

My friend and I were going to stay here a few nights, but we ended up only staying for 1 night and moving hotels after our 1st night stay. This place is beautiful, the staff is amazing, BUT we had an ocean view room and didn't realize what a production it was going to be to get to the Seaview rooms. If you get a Seaview room please be warned of what this entails. You will need to take a golf cart from the main hotel to this dirt parking lot which is about a 5min drive. Once there, you hike down the side of a cliff with very sketchy steps (the staff will help you carry your stuff) and once you get to your room, there's no phone to call the front desk if you need anything, a lot of mosquitos, and the electricity goes off and on. It's a beautiful view, very peaceful and serene, and perfect for those who only to want to surf, but the view wasn't worth the inconvenience of the room location when you want to go explore Uluwatu. Since there's no room phone, you need to track down staff, ask them to call a golf cart to come pick you up in the dirt parking lot, climb up those insane steps which are completely dark at night (apparently because locals don't want to attract more tourists) and then take a ride to the main hotel and order a cab there. If you have a scooter - then you would just leave your scooter in the dirt parking lot. It was a lot of work to say the least and if we stayed in the main building next to the pool, I don't think we would have left!

Beautiful gorgeous hotel near Uluwatu beach.

Stayed at Sal's on our last day in Bali, and I wish we had spent a couple of days there! It was the perfect little resort to chill and unwind, small and intimate (there were probably less than 20 villas) and a gorgeous two level pool with sundecks.

The interior is very white, reminiscent of a Santorini accommodation (as so many others have commented on) and decorated tastefully here within wooden touches and greenery. Beds were comfortable with our queen bed feeling very luxurious, and the nighttime lighting was pretty romantic.

Attached outdoor bathrooms were lovely, responsive hot water and good water pressure. Toilets flushed well and there was adequate toilet paper.

The hotel can help arrange for transport to certain areas at a fixed price as they pair with local drivers. It can be a bit pricier, but it's a standard price so there's no worry about being cheated. There's also a scooter rental nearby which I think most visitors probably took advantage of.

Breakfasts were fantastic (although not buffet - a choice from an ala carte menu), fresh fruits with an option of a couple of things from their menu with toast and juice and jams. You could also order from the bar as you lounge at the pool, which is a bit of bliss!

Staff were always polite and lovely. Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our time at Sal Secret Spot tucked into a beautiful location in Uluwatu. Would highly suggest the Deluxe Seaview Rooms as they have breathtaking views and steps away from Bingin Beach and the great beach restaurants.
Yes there is a bit of a hike to the room which is about 10 minutes how we staff manage the bags so it wasn’t that bad!
I would only say if walking up or down hills is an issue it might be best to get a room by the pool and not the beach.
Food was decent at The hotel but much of our time we rented a scooter and explored the many beautiful restaurants in the area.
Great hotel for couples!! Especially the Deluxe Rooms with the view!

The staff at Sals were all fantastic. We had a room down by the beach and although there are lots of stairs .. It wasn't too bad. Great exercise and the views are worth it. Loved that you could have breakfast at the beach rooms so you don't have to climb the stairs unless you want to chill by the pool which we also loved. Definitely worth a stay!

Perfect spot to escape!!!

I stayed in the silver room overlooking beach. There are a lot of stairs and a walkway to navigate when returning to your room at night. There are torches however and if you’re fit you’ll have no worries. Loved having breakfast cooked each morning and just walking downstairs. Rooms are rustic but have everything you need aircon, safe etc. I would recommend checking out the cashew tree a restaurant with in walking distance. I hired a scooter right near Sal’s for less than $9 a day and Uluwatu is less busy more relaxing spot... safer to ride around. You won’t be lacking choices in food... so many organic places offering vegan/vegetarian options like Buddha bowl. I was in heaven... Hope this review inspires someone to love life and check out this place for a week.. I loved it.

Secret Spot I Can't Wait to Rediscover!

Sal Secret Spot was awesome.
We stayed in a deluxe sea view room and the view was SO worth it. Most incredible view of the trip- we loved sitting out on the balcony and watching the surfers. It was a shared balcony with the other three rooms, meaning if you have any room other than the very last one, you’ll have the other guests walking past your window. I was a little worried about the privacy aspect but it really wasn’t much of a problem. Make sure you have some small change on you to tip the staff that carry your bags down the path. Don’t know how they do it every day!
I saw a lot of reviews about said path and how it was super treacherous and really long. In all honesty it was a lotttt better than what I was expecting due to these reviews. Don’t let the walk put you off if that’s a deciding factor on what room to pick!
One thing that probably could be improved room-wise however was the wifi. Although not a biggie and not a necessity when on holiday, we wanted to make dinner reservations each night that we stayed and it took a longggg time to process. 2 or 3 times we lost internet connection completely but the staff happily restarted it.
The pool in the main complex was to die for. We ended up spending close to a whole day lying out here drinking cocktails, which was not actually the days plan! It’s so quaint and funky and rather ‘insta-worthy’; on a few occasions we witnessed some pretty professional looking bikini photoshoots taking place haha.

We were patrons of Sal's Wood Room for only two nights, but alas it was a delightful stay! It's located in a secluded area of Bingin and therefore would be perfect for those, (particularly couples) looking for peace & privacy. Bingin Beach is approx. 10 mins away on foot but one would have to descend a flight of stairs to access the beach. The staff & their manager Miguel were welcoming and attentive, and for that we are deeply grateful to the team. The rustic picturesque decor is spot-on & we particularly loved the rooftop lounge in our room. The restaurant has a chillaxing vibe with great music playlist, although food choices can be limited for long stay. There arent many choices outside the bungalow either. It's best to rent a scooter to go to other nearby attractions like Blue Point, Padang-Padang Beach, etc but transportation can be arranged by the concierge upon request. Our only minor complain would be the wifi speed, but other than that, bellisimo!

It is however very close to the beach. The other location has a pool. The beachside spot requires you to wald over a not well maintained path and up a steep flight of stairs. Help with bags is great though and service friendly.

Beautiful hotel with incredible ocean views

We stayed at the apartment overlooking the ocean and I can honestly say it has one of the best views I have ever seen. There is a surf break right in front and we spent hours watching the surfers do their thing, very enjoyable. It is worth noting that the ocean view rooms are about a 10-minute walk from the main hotel and pool area and you have to go down steep stairs but this was not an issue for us. Breakfast is served in the apartment. There is not much to do in this area (unless you are a surfer!), the beach is not really swimmable but for a couple of days to recover from our jetlag this place was great. The staff is very friendly as well.

An absolutely beautiful eco resort

I loved everything about Sal Secret Spot. It was a luxe yet eco resort offering a unique experience. The shower is an outdoor shower, which I had to get used to but I loved it in the end! It's the right amount of feeling closer to nature, yet treating yourself to the luxuries of a holiday as well. Breakfast was great, the food and drinks were delicious - all I drank was dragonfruit juice! Staff are such lovely people as well, always made feel at home.

I'm not quite sure why this hotel has such fantastic reviews, we found it to be pretty average. We traveled around Indonesia for a month and this was the worst hotel we stayed in the whole time and the 2nd most expensive. I guess the Bukit Peninsula is pretty expensive, but for the money it was a disappointment.

Part of our confusion was that most of the reviews seem to be for the seaview rooms that are separate from the main hotel. We didn't stay in these rooms, but the regular rooms by the main hotel DO NOT HAVE VIEWS. In fact, no where in the entire hotel has views- not the lobby, not the pool, and not our room. As our room was advertised as \"Room with a View\" and this view consisted of more or less a rubbish yard next door, we were pretty disappointed.

Aside from that, the place was quite average. Breakfast was good, but the hotel is SUPER small. Be prepared to be within 30 feet of the other hotel guests at all times- there is one breakfast table, one table at the pool, and a handful of chairs. As our room had no balcony or veranda, we were stuck in the common areas a lot of the time.

Also, the overall vibe of this place was VERY young. Most of the guests were in their 20s, as were the staff, and it had a sort of \"young, stylish\" vibe that even my husband and I found off-putting (we're in our early 30s). I think there were literally two chairs with backs in the entire restaurant/pool area, so I wouldn't recommend it for older guests.

Stayed at Sal's and have mixed feelings about the place. The setting, the buildings it's self are lovely, the pool area is stunning, food and breakfasts are great and there's always bingtang ready to order :).

Like the title said this place could be epic if attention is paid to the small details. Issue with the cleanliness of my room on arrival which was sorted immediately (can't fault this for a second), the staff are fantastic and management are great but there are small things like towels and bedding hardly being changed, sheets not fitting the bed properly, stained sheets not thrown away, paintwork is a little scruffy in the rooms (everything is white so I'm sure difficult to keep prestige). For over $100 a night I'd just expect a little bit more attention to detail; spoke to some people poolside who were on their honeymoon and they agreed.

Saying all of this however I would stay at Sal's again :)

This gorgeous, beautiful and tastefully designed place was a wonderful find!
Our room was lovely, with much welcomed air-conditioning and mosquito nets.
We loved the semi-outdoor bathroom and the pool area was great.
A very relaxed and comfortable stay, and secluded from the hustle-bustle of some parts of Bali.
The restaurant was fine - not outstanding. But there are also great restaurants walking distance in Bingin.
Sal's staff were also friendly and gave us lots of advice on what else to explore in Bali.
We would definitely come back again.

Absolute hidden gem!

Sal secret spot is a well hidden gem! Super close to Bingin beach and offering a great pool/outdoor area also. The staff are amazing and super helpful. Will definitely return and has been a standout in terms of accomodation in Bali.

Ridiculous for the priced we paid

We stayed at Sal 1 night and could not believed we had paid $150 for that stay. The hotel is in front of a dump. The main hotel is under renovation but that is not the worst. Our room was in the 2nd hotel closer to the beach and in the middle of Bingin cliff. It takes you 10 min to walk there through a maze going down steep hill with no appropriate steps. No lights at night and we got lost trying to find our way back. I have to say the staff was very nice and the view from the room was beautiful but the breakfast is less than average and the instant coffee is awful. if you pay more than $60 per night for this it is not worth it !! We were very disappointed.

Unbeatable views, amazing staff

Stayed in the beach view rooms. Uninterrupted views from your room of Bingin beach. Staff were helpful with any queries. Highly recommend. I would stay there again.

A hotel ready to do anything for your pleasantstay

We had a wonderful stay at Sal, thanks to the GEneral Manager and the staff. I havent seen many hotels who go out of their way to make a guest have a pleasant stay; Sal is definetely one of them.

En couple en juillet 2024 bel hôtel au niveau de la réception très bien entretenu très propre bon petit déjeuner bel piscine avec ses fauteuils flottants ronds notre chambre très belle face à la plage
Le problème est pour l’accès chemin
À escaliers difficile d’accès et pas propre mais je recommande les chambre au niveau de la mais pas face à la la mer voilà

ホテル自体もこじんまりとしていて、宿泊者同士の距離が近く、コミュニケーションが取れて楽しかった。
ロケーションとしては不便だが、居心地が良かった。
ちなみにシャワーは水しか出ない。
