Great place, with a very good breakfast in a fantastic location, just some stairs to beautiful Dreamland Beach and beautiful big rooms with great bathrooms, if one likes bathtubs:)). And the staff is very friendly and professional and just fabulous.

Great location! Just a few steps down the stairs and you are on one of Bali’s best beaches. Room is huge

- Really mouldy smell in room - been having breathing and coughing issues since we have stayed here, and theres mould all throughout the room such as curtains, roof and phone cord

- Staff were going to spray something to kill the bugs while we were in the room. Very bad for health.

Sadly this hotel is nothing like the pictures. It is extremely dated and needs a massive refurb. We were told this is happening next month. It is a lovely location but loads of issues with mould, broken things in the rooms. The pool is green and the decking is broken around the pool. The staff do what they can to help but with next to no options we had to leave as it was just disgusting. We did get a refund for the nights we hadn’t stayed but tbh we are not happy having paid for the 2 nights we stayed as we were just going to put up with it but then a 2/3 metres piece of wood fell off the wardrobe and barely missed hitting my mum and then she found mould on her pillow, urine and blood stains on the mattress and mattress protector. Other than that lovely place…

My partner and I left early from this resort and left extremely disappointed. This place has a rating of 5 stars which i couldn’t believe after arriving there the first day. The security gates at the front are completely abandoned you wouldn’t even think the hotel is still in operation. The place is old and rundown and has an eerie sort of feel to it. Food was also close to inedible. The whole place feels abandoned and dead. The location just makes the whole experience even worse as it has no shops, restaurants bars or anything close to it. On a positive side of things and the only positive thing to say is the staff who were very nice at times and all of this is completely not their fault. My partner and left early as we didn’t feel safe at night time due to its isolated location and abandoned feel. Should be 2 star resort. Close to abandonment.

Very clean, comfortable and superbly courteous and helpful staff. Easy access to the beach but very far from any other attraction. If you plan on staying at the resort most of the time, it’s an excellent choice. However if you want to see Bali and surroundings, budget plenty time and money because it’s a good hour and $300,000 IDR one way to get to your nearest sites.

I would say this hotel needs a lot of work.
As soon as we checked in, the toilet wasn’t working, there was a bag of garbage left by the previous person staying there, They were shampoo and body wash, but no conditioner, overall the place looks like an old Soviet/ Chinese hotel… in no Way, Is This , a four star hotel let alone a five star. The people were great,

The hotel next-door, Jumirah is a better option.

We didn't even stay. We went to the restaurant upstairs to have a beer and some food to wait for our room to be ready for check in (after 2pm). Spent 45 minutes and all we got was a beer. Extremely slow service. We were directed to our room and it was a disaster. Smelled terrible!. Mold in the room, dirty...it was really bad. We called our driver and went somewhere else. We did not get out money back, because of the cancellation policy. Still happy to be able to leave and stay at a different and clean place.

I've noticed that this hotel needs lots of renovation on their rooms and facilities to compensate for the price their offer. The room is big however you can feel that it is not maintained properly. Breakfast menu were not great either, luckily the view from the rooftop is spectacular. You need to arrange your own transport if you want to stay here as the location is very isolated.

It was a pretty clean establishment with a very nice rooftop. The staff were kind as well. We did not have the best stay as it was not how it was advertised and we did not get what we were promised in our reservation. I had reserved a deluxe room with a view. I assume we received the deluxe room but got a view of the parking lot instead of the water. There was also construction going on right next to our room for the entirely of our stay that did not stop. When we asked about when it would be over, they told us it was only for the day we checked in, so we assumed it would be done. Instead it continued and when we brought it up again, they gave us vouchers for anything on the menu (which was very nice). We did try to redeem them for lunch but apparently only counted for very specific dishes. This didn’t matter much. The one aspect that gives the low rating is that we were missing half a door on our balcony but no one told us. Our last night I went to re-lock the door before we went to bed but noticed some air flow behind the curtain. I thought someone had broke into our room. Turns out we just did not have a door and we’re not made aware of this.
Overall an ok stay and if we hadn’t run into these issues my review would be much more positive.

The hotel looked a nice hotel ten years ago that has fallen under bad times. The cleanliness of the rooms and the common spaces was pool. Mold and stains in every corner, around shower, and the toilet, at each point of contact with the ground. There was constant construction and noise. Prices in the restaurant on the roof were way too high for the venue. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend and will not be returning.

Absolutely terrible. The staff had no idea what they were doing when we arrived which worked out as a blessing as we went for a walk around the facilities. This place needs a lot of care. It is terribly run down. Mould has taken over everything. The pool was green. The kids pool looked like a swamp with green slim and tiles loosely sitting in the bottom of the pool. The deck was rotten and we went through the timber - they put a rubber mat over it to cover. Couldn’t walk down to the beach as it was too slippery with thick black mould. We went to have lunch but the restaurant was filthy! The hotel smelt bad. We ended up getting our money refunded and we left before we went to the room. This place needs to be shut as it is a major health hazard. Toxic mould everywhere!

5 stars for what...?

The overall experience was bad, mostly due to my constantly having to hunt someone down for something that was either missing or broken. When I first arrived there was now arm water in the bathtub neither was the mini-bar functioning properly. I made the staff aware of this repeatedly without any avail. Later on I discovered the lock to the balcony door was broken, and this was fixed first after several hours. The housekeeping kept taking dirty towels without leaving new ones, and in the pool area which was never too busy, they kept running out of towels to lend to guests.

In all a very disappointing stay.

The location is a bit far but we enjoyed the serenity it afforded us. The beach was a plus although those steps are a killer esp coming bk up...if we were to stay for an extended period they would def get me in shape!

My wife and I came here for the last two days of our honeymoon after a two week stay in Bali. The low price and nice pictures lured us in. This was our mistake.

First off, this hotel was built in an area where all of the locals were forcefully removed so they could build a resort area. We didn’t know this until our driver told us this. I hate knowing I’m supporting that, even though it happened in the 90s.

The hotel is rated 5 stars (supposedly), but it doesn’t compare to 3 star hotels we’ve stayed at. It’s frankly a disaster.

The rooms smell like a sewer. There is mold in the rooms and public areas. The air conditioning broke our second night. The hotel is still under construction so we woke up at 7 am to crashing noises. The bar and food are not good (I did not have any issues with Bali belly in two weeks, but got sick my 2nd day at the hotel. My wife also got sick).

I don’t blame the junior staff - they are doing their best based on how they were trained. This is a complete failure of management and leadership. Also, again, this is simply not a 5 star hotel.

I cannot state this strongly enough: do NOT stay here. All you will get is a nice view from the roof.

Resort is nice and luxuries. Staff aren’t friendly, breakfast buffet doesn’t meet the hotel grade. every time we called front desk, was no answer, there was a charge for Ice !! You can’t really see the ocean from inside the pool. Beach is 5 min walk off the resort, public beach and to get a beach chair is $10 usd.
There isn’t much in area. We stayed two nights, went to Jimbaran one night and the other to Uluwatu temple each 30 min away.

Its located very far from the city center, there are no shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, or anything for atleast a mile. There is almost nothing to eat for breakfast, the only 2 bakery items are always old and not freshly cooked. Breakfast was a big disappointment. The property is very old and dirty. The staff are rude and unpleasant. There are no robs. The towels were so old they changed their color.

Llama resort has got to be one of the nicest resorts I have ever stayed in. They have thought of everything. The rooms are large and clean and have a bathroom the size of most hotel rooms.

They had a fantastic laundry service and after 10 days of traveling before going on for another this was a blessing also they were able to get our clothes back the same day folded and pressed.

The staff could not have been nicer and will go above and beyond even so much so that we were two hours early for check in and they offered us 15% off a treatment at the spa which was lovely both myself and my girlfriend had the reflexology treatment.

If I am in Bali again I will only be staying at the Klapa Resort. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful

The Klapa Resort staff are absolutely wonderful! We really enjoyed the large rooms, access to the beach, spa and of course the highlight was the rooftop! We enjoyed lots of pool-side drinks and meals from the Klapa Breeze Rooftop Restaurant and Bar. (Staff member, Surya gets a shout-out for being so wonderful at attending the pool area). We would highly recommend this resort, however I would note that food and drinks are rather pricey, but really convenient.

Extremely disappointed. Food at the restaurant gave us a frozen pizza not even cooked well in the oven. The bbq was not a bbq. Needs a lot of maintenance and renovation. Nothing to do around the area. Staff were helpful. Would not recommend to anyone.

We ended up leaving within three days. Paid for 8
Our room was covered in black mould, including the cot matress they provided for my six month old daughter.
The managers atitude was appalling and told my partner \"everything is okay, we don't care\". This hotel is filthy, and run down, and we need our money back.
Breakfast was supposed to be included yet we had to pay $6.50 aus for a coffee. The fridge smelt of hot gas and could not keep our daughters bottles cold.
The bath and shower wouldn't drain. The airconditioner was leaking and staff with safety gear and facemasks came in after we told them we were leaving to scrub the mould off all surfaces. (we have photos of this) my parents and in laws had the same issues with their rooms.
Expedia you cannot advertise this place. It made my 5 month old daughter and partner very sick with welted rashes and other problems. (Also have photo evidence)
This hotel needs to be shut down.

Beautiful property. Amazing views of the ocean and a stunning private beach in the bottom of the many stairways... However, the floors of the room were very dirty (we couldn't walk around barefoot without getting black feet) and there were many, a lot of mosquitoes in our large room. We got bitten overnight while sleeping and it was very disappointing.
The breakfast buffet fruit was very limited (only 2 or 3 kinds of fruits) and no vegan options.
The dividing walls were very thin and we could hear the neighbors talking in their rooms, their TVs and other guests (we assume they were drunk) fighting out loud in the hallways. Had to sleep with earplugs fighting off the mosquitoes....

For a 5 star rating this hotel certainly does not reflect that. There was construction on going day and night that made it near impossible to sleep while listening to the roar of chain saws. Our room was infested with ants, bug and mosquitoes. The room was full of moisture which made the bed and pillows feel wet. The staff were nice but none of them were on the same page with our requests. We got told 6 different answers about the free shuttle service that is offered by the hotel, and then given a hard time when we asked to use the shuttle service because they all had different answers on when the shuttles were to be offered. This was super annoying because the hotel is almost a 15 min ride to the main road and town area and the taxis the hotel offers are very expensive. The only good thing about this hotel was the size of the rooms and bathroom. Other wise would not stay here again, you would be better off to find a homestay in the heart of the town.

The breakfast and view were great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and spaceous.

Unfortunately the swimmingpool was under maintainance and therefore closed during my stay. When I asked the staff when it would be open again, they kept saying “maybe tomorrow”. They should have let people know before booking. The alternative was the swimming pool at Klapa Beach Club, which would have been fine if it wasn’f so extremely busy where all the sunbeds were reserved by Chinese people. Also, the Klapa staff didn’t tell me I needed a voucher to get free entrance to the Beach Club Pool, so I ended up paying.
Also the water pressure was very weak, so showering was quite a task.
Oh and don’t expect anything from the gym, the equipment is very poor. The weights are too light, the treadmill couldn’t keep up with my tempo and the cycle was stuck, so it felt like chewbacca was chasing me.

Overall price/quality was okay, it would have been perfect if these things were fixed.

The hotel is 300 m far from Dreamland beach, dominated by big big waves, so that swimming is impossible. There is absolutely nothing in the aerea: no restaurant or “Warung”, the typical balinese restaurant, and there are no facilities at all. If you don’t rent a scooter or a taxi, you cannot go anywhere, the place is isolated and surrounded by buildings in construction or abandoned. The internet WiFi works really bad either in the lobby or in common areas and in the rooms. Both the restaurants are really expensive and with a poor variety of food, but if you want to eat something you are compelled to eat there or catch a taxi.
Worse of the worse, we had booked and payed the free minibar for the whole week and they denied us the service we payed for. Absurd!
I would absolutely not recommend this hotel, it’ s far away to be a real five stars hotel except for prices.

worth every penny

I've been to bali numerous times and this is the best hotel i've stayed in. Considering the affordability, i honestly did not expect the place to be this grand. the only downside would be that it is not accessible by foot to the shophouses nearby, and it is hard to get grab. We enjoyed our 2 night stay and will book this again if i return to bali.
Three negative but forgivable facts;
1. The buffet breakfast staff stationed for eggs replied me with a impatient tone while i asked if there were any chilli available twice.
2. The pretty pool is actually at the other building and is not open till 10am so we did not get to catch the sunrise from there. The pool is already filled with a lot of tourists by 12 and it was very small.
3. Was at dreamland beach via the beach access for the sunrise but had to run away since 5 dogs ran down to us and there was no locals/securities to protect us

Got what you paid for...

The facilities in of themselves are great. However, frequently the staff didn’t give great customer service because their English was limited. You had to pay to use the pool at the day club even if you stayed at the hotel. The beach access through the beach club was more convenient than through the hotel. The resort is in the middle of no where and some customer was screaming at the counter because there was no mopeds to rent. You were held hostage to the taxis who charged astronomical prices. We got problem when we just check-in. It was 9pm already. We were tired. The room wasn’t cleaned. It had trash in the room, the blanket was messy. I told the hotel staff about the situation. She wanted us to wait and she would send the cleaning crew. I told her that I wanted to change room. She wasn’t happy about it. The cleaning crew talked to her in Indonesian asking her what etnicity was the guest? I was very upset for the etchnicity comment. Then the supervisor came & apologized. She served us cold drinks & gave us a different room.

The hotel was nicely built, and had beautiful beach club with infinity pool. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was nicely done. The beach was so beautiful.

But I felt they were poorly managed. The room card key was in bad shape & peeled off, it was reused so many times. I never knew that those plastic card could peeled until I saw this. The room key’s sleeve was reused. It was discolored & felt icky to touch it. They wrote my room number in pencil on top of the previous hotel’s guest room number. These little things matters & gave the guest a bad first impression about the hotel. So I asked the supervisor for a new key & sleeve.

The supervisor was very friendly & tried to make sure I stayed comfortably in the hotel. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel after those incidents.

Horrible first impression which did Improve

First of all I would like to say that if I had written this after just the first night I would have given the hotel the lowest marks. We stayed 2 nights though, and luckily our stay the second day was much improved.
On the first night when we arrived we entered our room to the most foul smell of urine. The room smelled like someone had peed all over the floors the night before. We immediately told the staff and they then sprayed the room with air freshener and luckily that slightly masked the smell. Next we found that there were quite a lot of mosquitos in the room. After slaughtering around 20 of them we started to get a little frustrated, however these weren't the worst of the infestation. Next came the cockroaches. I smashed about 3 cockroaches in our room before I got fed up and we told the staff again. They said they'd spray the room with poison so we let them. They then emptied almost an entire container of poison into the room and we left for 1 hour. When we came back there were quite a lot of dead mosquitoes on the floor, but then we noticed the room was still hot. We found that the AC in the room was not working.
After pleading with the staff to let us have another room they finally let us move. Our next room had no problems at all, and finally on the second day we were able to enjoy our stay.
Unfortunately the first night was so horrible that I couldn't give the resort high marks, but if we had started with a good room, I would have been happy with the stay

Nice hotel close to a beach but a little lacking

The hotel is very nice, facilities are great for a relaxing holiday near a nice beach. However the issues are that the breakfast is not that nice, very simple and plain. The gym is also horrible but there’s is one dow. The road so you can make up for it. All in all the staff made it great and I got what I was looking for, an escape.

What a great find....

Fantastic hotel with stunning panaramic views and private access to the beautiful Dreamland Beach. Enjoy a massage on your deck lounge in between swimming and enjoying the sunshine. Inexpensive yet a good choice of food and beverages. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Beautiful pool area too. Great cappuccino’s & latte’s available at the Rooftop Bar! Highly recommend Klapa Resort!!!!!

Little things went wrong

Initially had confusion if we could charge any expenditures at the restaurant to the room and were told “no”. Then at the restaurant went to pay the bill they asked if we wanted to charge to the room. Asked reception about a massage, no onsite facilities, after phoning a local spa they went to book me in for 400,000rp for a traditional Balinese massage, but advised they would not pick me up as it was only one person, no offer of transport from the hotel. Then went to attend a spa that was closer, again couldn’t have a pick up or drop off that was only 15 minutes down the road. Was advised could book a taxi that would cost 150,000rp... expensive for 15 minute drive. Then advised they could reduce it to 100,000rp. I told them not to worry. Ordered room service on one of our nights, I ordered the Mie Goreng. Three mouthfuls in something didn’t taste right, I pulled out a piece of hand towel, staff were apologetic and offered a replacement meal which I declined. Hotel was nice, view was nice, a bit far out to try and go anywhere, have to use taxis. Close walk to Dreamland beach

Nice clean hotel. Terrible breakfast. Only a choice of a few beers up by the pool and no bintang. Asked for a towel at the pool and was told they are all being cleaned, so had to walk back to room dripping water everywhere. Need a scooter to get around

Great. However, the information on room's TV is not up-to-date be aware to ask again regarding promotion published in your room. The Klapa Beach Club is managed by different management so you need to pay if you want to swim. Only Entrance is free.

Enjoyable stay

Lovely, friendly staff. Very beautifully decorated and spacious rooms. Delicious breakfast (including pancakes). Cool rooftop restaurant/pool. Lovely nearby beach. Only negative is the surrounding area is a bit of a ghost town!

Far from what you want from Bali. Hotel lies in a graveyard of unsuccessful large hotels. The closest restaurant or corner shop is 5km. Stay anywhere else. Lovely staff tho. We left after an hour of being there and despite not being eligible for a refund they paid for our taxi to our new accomodation.

Over promised and under delivered. \n

Access to the beach required walking through a secluded and perhaps unsafe area as there was a warning sign by the hotel exit.
It was noisy late at night and the building site nearby.
This resort was far and they did not offer free transfers or inhouse entertainment.

Huge rooms, comfy bed, great views from rooftop pool, close the Dreamland Beach. Just a bit far away from anything like cafes, restaurants, spas & shopping, so you will definitely need some sort of transport. Recommend for relaxation, peace & queit.

Nice Calm hotel for some days

- golf nearby
- nice small beach in 8 min distance
- beach mainly occupied by Asien since neighbors hotel has targeted the Asien market
- surrounded of the hotel besides the golf course dirty and uncared
- for three nights quite nice to relax
- rooftop bar and pool not crowded
- weekend buffet not extra ordinary but enough to get stuffed accompanied from nice live musik - very relaxed atmosphere
- hotel food and beverages for Australian and European conditional not expensive for bali condition very expensive
- no spa treatments
- Moden style hotel
- breakfast simple but enough to get filled
- rooms huge with a lot of storage possibility

Hotel and room looked nice but the bathroom had a weird smell. Just before we left we discovered mushrooms growing out of the walls under the curtains. If we had of found them sooner I don't know if we'd have stayed. Breakfast was ok. The pool and view from the roof was great. Not close to many restaurants or shops.

The hotel was understated. New hotel, large rooms, great service (mostly). Great location, however you need a scooter or transport because getting anywhere is hard. Long walk to the main road. In saying that, a beautiful beach is only 5-10 min walk away. Bad points were a lack of organisation of the seafood buffet where they promised a buffet and we get there only to be told there's no buffet left (half way through). Note the point about not being able to easily get anywhere else, and this is why it's a bad point. The service of the hotel staff was great, the service of the restaurant staff was average.
