My wife and I had an excellent stay at the Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite on the 22nd floor with a king-size bed, and the room was spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable.

The location was perfect — walkable to many restaurants, shops, and nearby attractions, which made getting around very easy. Service was seamless throughout the stay, and the staff were truly outstanding: friendly, attentive, and professional at every turn.

Everything about the hotel exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Our stay at Marriott during our honeymoon was really perfect. The staff took care of us in the best way, from the smooth check in to the room service for laundry. We had a late checkout and the hotel let us use the facilities and the baggage storage.
Everything worked very well.
The hotel is not very close to the metro or sky trains but they have a free shuttle service and in most of the cases we used bolt or grab because it was very convenient.
The swimming pool and the bar at the last floor were really cool and the view is stunning. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Overrated and Run-Down – Not Worth It!

Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse is definitely an old hotel that desperately needs a full renovation, especially in the rooms and by the pool. Its glory days are long gone, and calling it a 5-star hotel is a real joke.

Let’s start from the beginning – the room is completely uninsulated; you can hear doors slamming in other rooms, the elevator, and even noises from neighboring rooms! The room itself looks terrible – peeling paint on the walls in a so-called 5-star hotel? At the pool, if you swim to the edge, you can see dirt floating in the water and broken pieces of lighting. The gym is dirty and poorly maintained.

And the best part – breakfast. I was served coffee in a mug with a broken handle. A slight moment of inattention, and I could have burned myself!

As for the \"amazing\" view from the top floor – there are plenty of other places in Bangkok with similar views. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

The concierge was very friendly and helpful, we felt very at ease and welcomed. Great location, there is a mini Big C in front of the hotel and walking distance to bus station. Safe and calm area. Cleanliness and overall look of the hotel was top notch, the view from 26th floor was amazing and they also have a shuttle bus system to a BTS station. Looking forward to come back next time!

Smelt like sewerage

the first room we were given smelt of sewerage so we went down to complain about the smell and the man at reception asked if it was cigarettes or sewerage, so he knew exactly what we were complaining about. They moved us and the second room was the same, they had just sprayed some room freshner in it to try to hide the odour. The third room smelt fine and was a smaller room. They are also doing maintenance on the pool so its not a nice spot to sit while they build around you, wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We visit annually and wont be going back there!

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at the Bangkok Marriott Surawongse! The entrance/lobby is beautiful, and the aesthetic extends to the rest of the hotel, from the rooms to the restaurants to the pool. The staff are extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. The buffet on the 3rd floor has a variety of delicious foods. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, and they are nicely decorated. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite which was spacious and comfortable. A nice bonus was the washing machine that I didn’t realize was in the suite until we got there.

This was an amazing first experience in Thailand, the hotel was beautiful and not far from the pier or the markets for easy walking. The only negative was I paid for a room that had breakfast Buffett included, however at check in and at check out they charged me even though I showed proof. It was fixed but a bit disappointed I had to prove this twice and had to have my driver wait for me for my airport transfers in order to get this situation fixed, that should’ve been settled the first time

The hotel is very well appointed. Rooms are clean and modern. Breakfast is truly unbelievable. The 31 floor terrace provides spectacular views of the city. The surrounding area offers a quick mart and a massage place. The pool on the 18 floor is a great area to relax with the attendant clearing towels from sun beds as soon as people leave, making them available to other guests.
The only downside is the M lounge that appears to be below typical Marriott standards.

The stay was absolutely amazing. The room was enormous and clean and the there is also an infinite pool with one of the best views to the city that you can imagine. The hotel is located in the center of the city so you will be very close to the markets, the cultural spots and to the river. Reserve a good time to take a breakfast which includes a big variety of all kinds of food and drinks. They provide almost every hot drink you wish, a variety of fresh juices, teas, coconut, a variety of soups,yogurts and hot meals. They have also an open kitchen were they will cook for you a lot of plates from omelete to egg Benedict as you wish.The basic ones (fruits, vegetables, bread, ham, cheese) I will not even mention. With no doubt it is a 5star accommodation and service.

Beautiful two bedroom suite which was 5 star in quality. Everything was great except when we ordered transportation back to the airport. Marriott charged us 2,500 baht which is 5 times as much as a taxi. Private drivers will take you to the airport for 800 baht, so I feel hustled by Marriott. That is my only complaint.
