The property was in a dishevelled state, and the room was so dirty. The owners clearly were not concerned about cleanliness at all. There wasn't a proper reception, just an elderly woman who spoke very little or no English at all. I couldn’t wait to get out of the hotel room.

No hot water for the entire stay, the rooms are very tired and don’t if you stay…. Don’t expect the WiFi to work. For the price it is good value, but keep your expectations low!

Below average hotel

This hotel location is damn good but very old and needs a lot of refurbishing. Water colour in toilet was very brown- when informed the front office guy- he ignored it completely. No apologies or any reason were offered - didn’t give any explanation or assurance to rectify either. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone in spite of the great location.

it's close to anywhere i want to go to.
There is no laundry facilities as it was stated on the amenities. Shower curtain needs to be replaced. Room is big compared to other hotels I stayed in. It's quiet even it's located on the main street.

We loved staying in the place which is conveniently located, with 3 BTS Skytrain stations and Sathorn Pier at walking distance.

For Indians, this location is perfect, as the Indian temple and several Indian restaurants are close by. The morning market, opp Wat Khaek is amazing for street food and fruits, at affordable prices.

The campus itself was enchanting, with a nice old world charm. The architecture is interesting, and supposedly adapted from traditional styles of Northern Thailand.

Silom Village Inn, should actually be marketed as a Hertiage Resort, rather than a hotel. You will find boards describing the history of how this place was started 100 years back, and how they continue to have activities to promote and sustain Thai culture.

The staff is very kind and always ready to help.

Some of the modern, newer rooms which are on the other part of the campus may not be accessible by lift - if you have specific requirement for lift, please mention it at the reception while checkin, and they will accommodate you in the rooms which are lift-accessible, which is what they did for us.

Inside the campus, there's a small fish pond and a big fig tree, which is home to a few birds. If you are a birdwatcher new to Thailand, you may get a few new species right on this fig tree - birds like Plaintive Cuckoo, Yellow-vented Bulbul, Germain's swift, Ashy Drongos, Olive backed Sunbirds etc. were what we spotted here.

In all, an amazing place with character.

I'm not a fan of fancy hotels, extraordinary with its comforts but completely isolated from the local culture and environment. Silom Village, while it could use a bit of sprucing up, inside and out, ensures you feel like you're in Bangkok: motel-like (door opens to the outdoors), never more than a floor or two off the ground, no one hounds you with services you don't need, is walking distance to transportation, Lumpini Park, all sorts of coffees, Wat Kaek and its mesmerizing song, a fantastic morning market, and a variety of indoor and outdoor restaurants. I enjoyed street Thai, Indian, and Hong Kong food in my short visit.

The housekeeper does a very bad job cleaning the room. Please dont stay there. There is better option in BKK.

We strayed in Bangkok, on and off for 4 weeks, visiting Thailand and Cambodia. We had arranged to stay at Silom Village Inn ,recommended by family who also have stayed there, Our plan was while in Bangkok, we would stay at the Silom Village Inn as it is central to many things here. As with most plans, there are changes and additions, When we needed to call and add on additional days, the desk people were always very accomidating courteous and professional. If we needed help moving or storing luggage, just ask, they always were there to help. The area is very busy urban but feels pretty safe to walk around but we were not out too late, If you stay and want the Bangkok breakfast experience, there is a street market 2 blocks down that we enjoyed every morning we could walk there and find breakfast, or some tasty pastries, fruits to take along on our travels. Great photo ops too.

WIFI is AWFUL.

Don't stay here if you have work to do. Room was large , but aircon was 1990s noisy and one speed, not adjustable. WIFI was TERRIBLE. I was told to leave my room and go closer to the router and connect and then go back in my rom - didn't work. Two room changes didn't fix this.

Disappointing condition of hotel.

The condition of Silom Village Inn is getting worse. I have visited the hotel yearly for the past 10 years and yes I can say that the state of the hotel has deteriorated. The housekeeping is terrible, the room floors are not cleaned as can be seen from dirty marks on the carpets. Thank goodness the linen on the bed is cleaned and changed daily and the bathroom is clean. The wifi in the room did not work for 5 days during my 7 day stay. Many guests on business were complaining as you could only use the wifi in the reception/lobby area.The airconditioner was noisy. But then again I heard that NO renovations etc. will be carried out as the properties were sold. The prices for the room are expensive for what you get and is not a 3 star anymore. It is sad to note that Silom Village Inn has lost it's status as a good clean and well maintained hotel. The TV reception was bad as well. The only good thing is that the hotel is in a good location.

This is a very affordable hotel but looking old around the edges. It’s quite a walk to the nearest skytrain station but that doesn’t bother me. Meals are not provided but are available from the cafe in the complex.

The staff was no really helpful, and with poor manners. The hotel is really expensive with no reasons, the room was a twin sold for a double with two single bed close to each other, with 70s forniture really dirty and ruined, ceiling full of spots, dirty walls, stinks of mould everywhere, mould in the bathroom too. Laundry service really expensive. The village its ok but for me totally useless just for lazy tourists, and too expensive too.

Terrible.

Been a long term hotels.com customer. This was the worst room ever. Dirty, moldy room. Urine stained sheets, putrid smell. Terrible front desk staff. It was a last minute booking - couldn't stay there. Don't go budget in Silom. Several hotels next door - worth the extra dollars. Don't get ripped off here.

Onto the main road, fine views of skyscrapers, good in-hotel facilities, the food served here is grt, it's worth trying the sea food here, its the original Thai cuisine. Everything u need is available on the adjacent road like Thai massage, Street food, supermarket, pharmacy, money exchange is all in 200m radius fr the hotel.

Front desk seemed indifferent, even unfriendly, didn't really smile, didn't see other westerners, though it's in a cental area. The Internet didn't work, had to move rooms, then worked a little then didn't work there either. Staff just said they have a lot of people now, Worked some in the lobby. Very low lighting in the first room, reasonable in the second. Light flickering in the bathroom, had to ask twice to get it changed. No hot water in shower, just warm.

Air condition is not working - does not cool the room.
3 of the 8 lights in the room are not working - don't plan to read anything.
TV is not working - list HBO on the list but you cannot find it on any of the channel.
Don't let the pictures fool you.

A very nice hotel to stay in. We booked a deluxe room for 3 pax with extra bed and the room is spacious. Very clean and there are restaurants and shops around so it's very convenient. The only problem we have is that most of the staffs can't speak english (well, most thailanders actually). Walking distance to bts stations which is chong nonsi and surasak. We are very happy to stay here and it is worth the stay for the price.

The hotel is good and it provides cleaning service everyday but the water bottles are not provided for everyday as 3water bottles are allowed free of charge for 3persons. The blanket for extra bed is so pity and was torn but it's clean. The others are pretty fine.

I expected more for the price I paid for

There was an old, rustic feel to the inn. However, wifi wasn't working the whole day the 2nd day which affected us because we relied heavily on it to research places to go and to keep in contact with family. There was a crack in the bathtub, so every time u stepped in it to shower, grey and dirty water oozed out! Gross! No kettle or toothbrush or tea and coffee were provided.
