It was clean and staff were pleasant, but all the vending machines were out of order so no water or coffee available

I have stayed here a number of times while visiting family. While it is in the heart of the city square it’s not easy to get to via car as most of the roads leading close to the hotel are closed.

There are no safes in the room, rooms did not have ironing boards or irons. The comforters barely cover beds.

My mom and sister stayed at other hotels in the city and both were far better experiences. Nice quality comforters and pillow.

Centrally located, decent hotel

The hotel is situated in the centre of the old town of Maribor. The room was clean and bright. Breakfast was served with hot and cold plates. Parking is possible on site with a fee of 7 Euro per day. Walking around the old town is close and easy. Supermarket is just around the corner. Heater was on in the evenings and mornings. There were lifts and that made bringing luggages easy. Wifi was strong.

The location and staff were fantastic. We were upgraded to a larger room, which was very convenient.
It is noisy from 6-7 am, when a car would come to clear garbage from nearby construction.
The breakfast was very nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose the hotel again. Thank you!

I did a 2 night stay here. The hotel is right in centre of Maribor and it’s a great location. The hotel itself is very basic if you expect anything more you will be disappointed. The hotel was good for me. Decent breakfast selection. Would stay again if in Maribor.

The hotel is right in the middle of the square with its own parking very close to the doors! The hotel staff were very accommodating. Our air conditioner in our room didn't work. They immediately moved us to another room. Breakfast was to go because of corona. They provided pre packed meals of two sandwiches, Apple, yogurt, water and hot drink of your choice to go.

the hotel is ok. especially since it is in the city center, the position is exceptional. the only problem is that there is no mini bar and they could put at least a bottle of water in the room. it is true that you can buy one but if you want water in the middle of the night you don't go downstais in your pj.

The best thing of this hotel was the location.other than that was maybe one of the worst hotels I’ve been in. The price doesn’t match the quality and the service . The hall way smelled like a hospital. Very outdated. And it was a bit noisy since there was a group of students on a school trip. Staff was not helpful with directions as far as hotel parking ( which turned out to be better ) we just parked in the street for free vs paying €6 euros . We stayed in Piran the night before right on the water in a 4 star hotel for 65 euros and here was more expensive and there was no comparison.

It was an ok hotel, again dog-friendly, but had to split the family during breakfast as the dog was not allowed (no signs or information prior to breakfast). Room was a bit out-of-date but had aircon that decided not to work on a very hot night. The bathroom was old and needs new plastic as a bare minimum.

I stayed in Hotel Orel for eight nights.
It's location is very convenient, right in the town centre. There'is a large plaza outside the hotel, and it's very relaxing to have lunch or afternoon tea under the sun,especially inSeptember or October.
There're lots of shops and restaurants in the area, and a supermarket is just about 5 minutes away.
Getting around by taxi is easy and it cost less than €10 to get to most nearby areas.

A five five floor new hotel, the Orel has good space and is located well in Maribor. I found street parking within a five minute walk. Bed was so comfortable that I woke thinking I was home. Quiet.
Only issue: while the shower is big, about a double stall, the shower head and controls are in the center of the long wall; turning or scrubbing the body can lead to accidental adjustments of temperature and pressure. Bad design in an otherwise great bathroom.

Unfortunately the photographs are misleading as after showing the rooms available there is a photograph titled indoor pool and the next titled outdoor spa. On arrival we discovered this was a partner company offsite but we could use for €12 each!

In the city center, free parking,very clean & cozy

Stayed for only one night:

- Free parking - you have ring the bell in front of the pedestrian area ramp and drive over the square itself to get into the hotel parking
- Breakfast included - breakfast was diverse and very satisfacory
- Spa - the hotel does not have a spa itself but it seems to collaborate with a spa down the road
- Location - on the square, very centrally located
- Clean - the room was very clean, bed comfortable, good shower

It is a 3 star hotels, but compared to hotels in Italy, it would easily be a 4 star hotel. Very happy with it.

Only thing I did not like was the old outdated TV. They should really get a flat screen TV with a USB port for people to be able to watch movies, because channels themselves have little to offer.

Good choice at breakfast.If flying into Maribor suggest get hotel to arrange taxi to pick you up as small airport and flights (from London) lands at midnight

Had a very pleasant experience in this clean, comfortable hotel with its friendly and helpful staff. It is right on one of the main squares of Maribor next to good cafes and restaurants. Clearly recommended! (Ask for a room near the top floor to get a beatiful view over the city.)

This hotel is in a good location close to train station (15 minute walk). We had a good size room (505) with a nice big window but unfortunately it didn't open much. The hotel is around the corner from cafes, a square, shops etc.

The room has a mini fridge, wardrobes, hair dryer, writing desk, wifi, comfy bed, nice pillow, clean bathroom which was sizeable. The shower went hot and cold randomly which was both a shock to the system and dangerous!

The best bonus was the thermal pool which we had free entry to. About 3 km walk from the hotel.

The hotel is at a perfect location in the middle of the city center and they offer parking as well, so no worries. The breakfast was really good, except for the juice and the room was very big and comfortable, even though the bed was a bit too soft for me. They have an extra! You can ask for free tickets to the local spa which is easily reachable if you have a car (3 kilometers from the hotel)

A good three star hotel with little to high price

Everything was fine, just arriving by car to the city obsessed with parking restrictions was not easy. However after an email inquiry the hotel staff provided good guidance.
Hotel is nice three star, however the price would be appropriate for four star - little too high.

Room very clean, but basic.

Benefits are good BF, free parking and free internet
(but you have to take your cable for the room to avoid buying little overpriced cable from the reception)

Only problem with this hotel when we stayed in December was that our room was a bit cold. Maybe it had something to do with being on the top floor. We never complained because frankly, it was a refreshing change after staying in overheated rooms in Europe. Good breakfast, comfortable beds, huge room with a pullout couch, separate shower and toilet rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful, all spoke English. Location right on the main square of the old town couldn't have been better. Excellent value, would definitely stay again.

The legs at the end of the bed were broken & had to use the bin to prop bed up. The window in the room didn't close properly so made it more noisy than should have been during the night

Aside from having a bathroom apparently designed for invalids, it was a good place to stay. For some reason they gave us the invalid suite ( we are both able bodied) so the shower had no \"stall\" and the toilet an elevated and very uncomfortable seat. The floor flooded constantly with water, seeping into the room itself.

This hotel is located just off a main square, near to the action but not too noisy. Our room was clean and an ok size. Check in was very slow and none of the staff seemed particularly happy.

When we stayed here the prices seemed pretty high for this standard of hotel but this may have been because there was a European football match on in Maribor at the time.

I would recommend this hotel due to its location but I expect there are better value for money hotels in Maribor.

Maribor's Best Hotel

Great Hotel in pedestrian plaza area of central Maribor. Excellent Breakfast. Rooms are very nice. Walk to restaurants and shops. Only issue is if you have a car, you have go to a special gate to get onto the pedestrian plaza, ring a buzzer for access, then drive across the plaza and down an alley to reach the hotel, making it very hard to find the first time. One morning a band was playing and blocked our way out.

Das Hotel ist nur mit einigen Besonderheiten zu erreichen also genau LESEN wie man dort hin gelangt . Dafür wird man am Eingang von einem Servicemitarbeiter in Empfang genommen welcher den Weg zum Parkplatz weist . Wer Glück hat und rechtzeitig kommt kann Oberirdisch Parken ansonsten Tiefgarage !! Das ist ein Abenteuer für sich --eine enge Einfahrt in einen Lift - abstand Rückspiegel Lifttor links und rechts ca 1 cm - welcher das Auto nach unten bzw wieder nach ob bringt . In der Tiefe rückwärts aus dem Lift - oben auch rückwärts wieder raus - aber ja aufpassen wegen der anderen Parkplatznutzer sehr eng und für SUV garnicht zu benutzen. Die Treppe zur Tiefgarage mit Gepäck nicht benutzbar so eng und steil .Dafür wurde der PKW-Fahrstuhl empfohlen!!
Meine Frau sagte mir \" Ich währe bei den Parkplätzen auf dem Absatz umgekehrt !! \" Anscheinend kein zu empfehlender Frauenparkplatz !!
Aufgrund eines Ereignisses war die Polizei Präsenz mit vollvergitterten Einsatzfahrzeugen , Kugelsicheren Westen ,ständigen Hubschrauber überfliegen doch etwas irritierend .

Sehr einfaches, aber sauberes Hostel. Praktisch für mich war, dass ich mit unserer Hündin nicht weit in einen Park laufen musste (hatte ich aber ausgesucht). Schön war es, mitten in der Altstadt von Maribor zu sein (war mir bei der Buchung weniger bewusst).
Leider ist das Personal ziemlich desinteressiert. Insgesamt aber zufriedenstellend.
