The staff at this property were very friend and helpful, I have only positive things to say about them. The room itself didn’t look anything like advertised. It was a large room with a nice view but the room wasn’t clean. You could tell surface cleaning was done but the washroom door handle had a film on it. I just didn’t close the door while I was staying there to avoid touching it. Also the bed was extremely worn down and uncomfortable. You could tell it was very old mattress because you could feel divots in the mattress on both sides with it raised in the middle from people sleeping on either side. I woke up every morning with an increasingly sore back, the last morning I was there I ended up having to take pain meds in the morning because I was so sore from the mattress. I hate to leave not positive reviews, but I was very disappointed.

Comfortable & stylish hotel in heart of the pedestrian area of Maribor. A 2-minute walk takes one to the city center with dozens of restaurants. The hotel room and amenities were new, stylish, modern & of high quality. Super AC which was needed on a 35-degree day. Easy and safe parking in secure garage under hotel.

A great place to stay

Excellently located hotel with great facilities. The rooftop bar serves a great selection of seafood. Also meat options are available. Rooms are spacious but a little on the dark side. The view across the Drava more than makes up it though. Breakfast is served in the Rooftop bar too , which makes the whole dinning experience very enjoyable.

Staff were extremely obliging (had problem with the TV which was quickly fixed). Breakfast was excellent.

Although the room was spacious, there was only one small window and with the main lighting coming from a large, central light, it made it all a bit gloomy.

Very good hotel, very good location at 20-30 min walking distance to all the citycenter touristic attractions. Room very clean, spacious, furniture in good condition. Unfortunately hotel restaurant wasn't work during our stay, yet plenty of other restaurants available in the close neighborhood. Breakfast very good, fresh food, many variants. Air conditioning system works only with central system settings, my room thermostat was unable to change setpoint, probbably due to the hotel policy.

The staff at the hotel deserve 5*, they did all they could to make my stay comfortable as possible. The rooftop restaurant was very pleasant and food was great.

However…
the hotel itself isn’t very attractive or comfortable. The smell of sewage coming through my bathroom pipes was unbearable. The hotel is dark and dingey. The odd split levels and confusing entrances made it unwelcoming.

I’m sorry to say I do NOT recommend this hotel.

This property is well-located within 2 blocks of the plague column and 3 blocks from the central plaza of Maribor. It is a modern facility with friendly staff and well-appointed rooms with all the usual amenities. Breakfast is adequate though not lavish. Recommended.

absolutely fantastic one of the best cleanest hotels ive had the pleasure to stay In
the lady at reception with spectacles I will need to give a special mention to as she was outstanding as soon as we arrived received an upgrade and what a beautiful room this it definately one of the best top 5 hotels ive stayed In and will look forward to the next time In Maribor 5 STAR definitely well done to all the staff ad make sure you try out the view outside when having breakfast

The room and the bed were really large and comfortable. Great location, by the river, double glazed windows and dark curtains provide excellent sleeping experience.

The only downside is: in year 2018 why do you not put the sockets on the desk? It makes no sense to put them 20cms from the floor! Redesign this please.

Amazing hotel in Maribor

The hotel is really fancy. We got a free upgrade to a suite, which was really nice. There was a big jacuzzi in the suite, perfect for relaxing after a long drive. The layout of the room is a bit unusual though: the shower and jacuzzi are basically part of the living room :)) The bed was extremely comfortable, with really nice bed sheets.

The restaurant in the hotel was amazing. They had this special offer of a 7 course tasting menu. It made me really love Slovenian food.

Maribor is not too big, so you can get to all the interesting sites from the city with quick walk from the hotel.

We traveled with a baby and a teenager, so needed a large room. Our family room was very big and comfortable, there was enough space for everyone and the cot provided for the baby was large and safe.

We had a late lunch in the restaurant on the 5th floor, which was amazing in terms of food and service quality. Consequently, we had high expectations for the breakfast, which were not met. While I was loading our luggage into the car, my wife and our children went upstairs. My wife had to find and drag a high chair across the restaurant with our baby on her arm. No help was provided by any member of the staff. The food offer was meager and everything tasted a bit bland, too.

Fabulous stay in Hotel City Maribor

Very large comfortable room with separate bathroom (shower & bath) & toilet. Kept perfectly clean. Excellent restaurant, lobby bar & conference facilities. Conference room very pleasant with full natural light & lovely view over the river. Staff really helpful & pleasant. Hotel located in centre of city providing easy access to restaurants, bars & nightlife. Really enjoyable stay in Maribor.

First stay at City Hotel

It was my first stay at this hotel, I selected it for its central location, private parking and reasonable room rate. Location of the hotel is ideal, centrally located at the river in the city center, short walk to restaurants and Europark. Room is modern and clean, the glass wall of the bathroom is quite unique. Although the hotel is at a 4 lane bridge, the traffic noise was not heard inside. Underground parking was spacious. Wifi worked in the room but was slow, I may try cable connection next time. Breakfast selection was good.Probably I will choose this hotel for my next stay in Maribor.

I was at the Hotel City Maribor for three nights and had an excellent stay. The room was spacious and well equipped. The hotel staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was not extravagant but was more than adequate. An evening meal with colleagues was fantastic and one of the best I had in Slovenia - and at a very reasonable price. The hotel location is really good as well.

Great location and excellent room.

Great experience from time we pulled up in car until we left. Parking is underground and free. The room was spacious and the view of the city and river very nice. The bathroom was large enough for the two of us. We were on the sixth floor. The breakfast was good for Europe with eggs, bacon and the usual continental trimmings. The Staff was so helpful answering all our questions and giving us excellent directions to get around town and even getting back to the main road the next morning. The price was also reasonable for such a great location. The town is within short walking distance as are the sights. We will stay there again and highly recommend this hotel.

I had a good size room overlooking the river and it was relatively bear the train station which was a plus. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Well stocked mini bar and free Wi Fi. The bathroom spotless and modern.
Negatives were, a dimly lit bedroom and the TV wouldn't work. Also, although very modern and minimalist the room was a bit soulless.
However if I returned to Maribor I would use this hotel.

Good location, great staff, wonderful rooms (at least the Deluxe ones) and decent breakfast. But the WiFi was horrible in the room, had to come to lobby to have a connection and use it. As to the style of the hotel, it's a matter of taste (definitely not warm more reminding of a modern hospital...)

brand new and very nice hotel with large modern rooms.
I did not have any bad experience during my stay as written in some other comments.
The hotel is easy to find by car, theiy have a free car park just in the undergroung.
On top of that they also have a great roof top terrasse for breakfast, dinner or just for a drink.
I travel a lot and this stay belongs to the best experiences in hotel stays.

MAGNÍFICO HOTEL PARA ESTA CIA EN MARIBOR

Super bien situado para estancia en Maribor. Está a 5’ del centro y muy bien comunicado con carreteras y parking. Magnífico desayuno y staff muy amable. Además, es un hotel nuevo con todas sus comodidades. Tiene un bar/restaurante en el piso superior con unas magníficas vistas al río.

The staff were very friendly and a great breakfast each morning. The remote control was filthy so it made me question the level of hygiene in other areas. The air con was next to useless so I had to open the windows, but because it's a heatwave, that did nothing. Therefore, two hot and disturbed nights.

Camera pulita e confortevole sebbene la finestra dava su una terrazza di passaggio interna.

Schönes Hotel (laut unseren Recherchen bei diversen Portalen das beste in Maribor).
Etwas spezielle Struktur: Von der Reception geht‘s zuerst eine Treppe runter zum Lift zu den Zimmern. Will man vom Zimmer zum Auto in die Garage, muss man ins 1. UG fahren, dann die Treppe hoch zur Reception und dann in den Lift zur Garage. Mit Gepäck ist das eher etwas mühsam - und Hilfe gab es keine. Hingegen gibt es einen Lift von der Garage ins Restaurant im 5. Stock.
Das Zimmer ist eher dunkel mit knapper Beuchtung, vor allem bei Sonnenschein, da die Storen automatisch das Zimmer verdunkeln.
Reichhaltiges gutes Frühstück.

Empfehlenswertes Hotel mit kleinen Mängeln

Sehr gut ausgestattetes Zimmer; ausgezeichnetes Essen im Restaurant; nur circa 300 Meter von der Altstadt entfernt.
Einzige negativen Punkte:
Um zur Tiefgarage zu gelangen muss man 3 mal den Fahrstuhl wechseln.
Der in einem Schrank eingebaute Safe ist so schlecht beleuchtet, dass ohne zusätzliche Taschenlampe keine Eingabe eines Codes möglich ist.
