Mattress was not comfortable at all. We ended up sliding together in the middle of the mattress. Walkable to about everything if you don't have joint problems but if you're going to Hydra expecting to not walk you should rethink your trip. Staff was amazing and very accommodating. Water gets everywhere from the shower and I mean everywhere.

All was fine. The management even allowed us to do laundry on the premises, which he facilitated. Then we hung our clothes out on the line and it was all dry within a few short hours. A cute establishment and just a short walk from the port.

Location, location, location! This property is near the plaka which which makes it excellent for seeing all the sites in Athens, as well as shopping and restaurants. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Staff was wonderful hotel was clean and most importantly the beds were very comfortable. Yes, we had stairs to walk up to our room, however, with all the walking you do in Athens, what’s a few more steps to get to your hotel room, this was a lovely place to stay and I’d stay again !

We truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very comfortable, with good ac and WiFi. The location was close to restaurants, markets and shipping. It was only a short, and mostly level, walk to the harbor and ferry landing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace were very nice with a great view of the town. We walked to the beaches along beautiful cliffside roads with amazing views. We spend three nights and could have stayed longer! The people of the town are very friendly, and it is a beautiful and peaceful place!

UNREASONABLY UNREASONABLE
We booked a 3 night stay arriving on Monday with an early morning departure Thursday to take the ferry to Athens to board a cruise to New York. Upon arrival the manager said we would have to stay longer as the ferries go on strike Wednesday! If we missed our cruise we would lose 25K so we spent one night and left on the first ferry out. To our surprise, he would not refund the 2 unused nights. Had he sent an email advising of the strike, we wouldn't have gone in the first place. Because he didn't, we lost the ferry fare ($166.59), + two full days.

Amazing stay with my family! The mattresses were super soft and comfortable, the room had excellent facilities and looked to have been recently renovated. Great water pressure in shower and constant hot water. Dimitri was very helpful and provided us with many additional extras to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. The communal rooftop patio was a great place to take in the view and also provided a space to meet some of the other families staying in the complex. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Hydra! Located a few streets back from the water our room was super quiet but exceptionally located to great restaurants and only 4 minutes walk to the main port.

Set 5 minutes behind Hydra ‘s busy harbour, this pension is a haven of quiet. We stayed in one of the apartments with a verandah that looks out to the hills and harbour.. Lots of places to eat nearby or you can self cater. Great mattresses, aircon for that hot Greek summer.

Affordable Hydra
Affordable accommodation in Hydra is rare, and this pension is quite nice, if basic. There's no front desk, but the owners are usually around (they live in part of the house that was converted to make the pension). No breakfast, but you can get that easily enough on Hydra. My room was on the ground floor, with windows to the street outside and to the interior walkway, so no natural light to speak of if you wanted any privacy. There's an interior courtyard and a rooftop patio you can use, but only the largest rooms have their own patios. Would I stay here again? Maybe.

A lovely pensione with rooftop view of the city, a courtyard to sip your coffee, and overall homey environment to be in. Dimitri and his family will treat you well. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable bed. We look forward to staying here again when we come back to Hydra.

Great little place, easy to find, friendly service and accommodating. Lovely little rooftop terrace too. No breakfast is served (just tea/coffee in the room) but there are lots of cafes near by and the island is beautiful so no need to stay in! Very pleased, thanks.

Hotel is a short walk from the port. There is a video on its website to show how to get there. The yard is beautiful with flowers. The room is spacious , high ceiling. The view from rooftop great, you can see the port. When we check in, we were shown 2 rooms to choose one. The lady is very kind, her English is limited in sentences but she knows many English words to communicate with. We walked to the port area, walked cobbled road in many alleyways. We also hiked to the top of the mountain. We loves Hydra, this is our 2nd time in this small charming island. THe town is quite, without cars or bikes, there are so many cats in the town.

Can't Wait to Go Back to Hydra
We only spent three nights in Hydra, but we enjoyed every second. Go in September, the weather is perfect, sunny, low 80's, and there are not big crowds. We
took the shuttle to Vlychos beach, totally worth the 6 euro round trip. Bring water sandals or shoes, the beach is rocky, but the water was wonderful. The Achilleas Pension is off the beaten track a bit, but Dina, the owner, is lovely and the place is nice.
