The hotel is unique and individually decorated and furnished. We had a large terrace with loungers, tables and chairs. The owners and staff were really friendly and helpful. The cobbled street is steep to the hotel and could be slippery particularly when wet. Numerous bars and restaurants a few minutes walk down the hill to the harbour. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Great boutique hotel (family owned & operated) a relative short walk (but up hill) from the ferry port and shops & restaurants. The hotel has a great old world Greek vibe with a very friendly snd helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Hydra again.

The owners of this hotel are the best. My husband broke his leg and they were so very kind and helpful. They arranged for transport to the ferry at a very awkward time of day, brought us snacks and arranged for a taxi in Piraeus. I can’t speak of them highly enough.

The room was okay but you have to flip a switch on for the hot water half an hour before you take a shower or bath. After using the jacuzzi, there was a leak when the tub was drained and the entire bathroom floor was full of water. It seems the management is not keeping up with maintenance of the property.

The one problem was that we had to keep the room hermetically sealed with the air conditioning on to exclude mosquitoes. But that is not the hotel's fault and would be the same in any other hotel on the island.

About a 5 minute walk to port, dining and shopping along cobblestone streets. No steps to reach hotel but upper rooms/lofts would require climbing. Extraordinarily friendly service a plus

The hotel is in a nice, quiet location a stone's throw away from the port. The rooms were comfortable, clean and nicely decorated.
The hotel was lacking facilities and amenities (other than a communal jacuzzi tub and some sunbeds) but that is probably common of hotels in Hydra as no big developments are allowed on the island.
We stayed on a junior suite that included a mezzanine floor. The room with the exposed beams of the ceiling was very beautiful but the big height from floor to ceiling meant that air conditioning had to be constantly on to keep the top floor cool.
The interior walls between rooms didn't have sufficient sound proofing so some noise was audible in midday but other guests were quiet.
Breakfast was limited but the offered products were good. All the hotel staff were helpful except one of the receptionists who could improve on communication skills.
Overall we liked the hotel and room.

Angelica is a beautiful property in a good location up a steep hill from the waterfront. The hotel is immaculately maintained. There is a a good amount of clothing storage space in the nicely furnished room. The only shortcoming for us was no in-room coffee. That said, my husband was able to get coffee for us in the breakfast area and return to our room with a tray. We upgraded to a room with a veranda that opened up the somewhat small room and we really enjoyed our evenings out there.

This lovely hotel is located just the right distance from town on the \"main drag\" (if there is such a thing in Hydra). Maybe a 5 minute walk from the harbor, with no steps to climb. It's a beautiful building, with a comfortable courtyard out front for guests. The staff was friendly, easygoing, efficient and accommodating, from check-in through check out. The room was clean and pleasant, and everything worked perfectly. Breakfast is simple and perfect (who needs to fill up on bacon and eggs?)

We're Going Back
Unfortunately our trip was cut short by a port strike that forced us to cancel our last evening, but we were given free breakfasts by the owner as his way of compensating us for the loss of our non refundable last night. I was really touched, since it was my choice to book a non refundable rate, and he owed me nothing. When we return to Hydra we will return to Angelica Boutique Hotel. The location is fun, since it encouraged us to hire a donkey to bring our luggage to the hotel, providing us with a great travel experience and an even better travel story. The hotel property is lovely with comfortable and nicely decorated rooms, excellent showers, a large breakfast and especially efficient air conditioning. The owner was very generous and upgraded our room from a standard to a room with a deck. That unexpected benefit really set the tone for a wonderful hotel experience.

Angelica Hotel is built on a traditional stone house with thick stone walls in the part that we stayed in. This meant that no noise could be heard from other customers in any adjacent rooms.The hotel had another building across the path. Our room - ARGO - had a huge balcony with sun loungers, table and 2 chairs - we could see the sea in the distance and the hills. The hotel is set a short walk away from the port and restaurants and we found it very quiet during September. It was lovely seeing the children making their way up to the primary school from our window.
The owner and staff could not have been more helpful and friendly giving us local advice.
The room was had plenty of space and the bed was, in our opinion, very comfortable.
All in all, a classy establishment, worthy of an exclusive island and excellent value for money.

The Anjelica has been created out of an old house and new building on the opposite side of the road. Our room was in the old part and I got the distinct impression the newer part was better, although it only seems to come into use as the hotel fills up.
Our room (Argo) was fairly spacious and contained classic old furniture. The air conditioning was pretty effective and the bathroom was clean if a little clunky.
Each room has a 'private' balcony but ours was separated from our neighbours by a very low wall. As it turned out we barely saw them but if you had a loud person - or a smoker - next door it could ruin your outside time.
The breakfast was pretty good without being great - the coffee was basically weak brown water but the friendly staff will make an espresso if you ask.
There's a jacuzzi in a courtyard with sun lingers and towels - but it's on the other side of the road and the owner never mentioned it to us. When we discovered it (the day before we were going home), his reaction was 'Well, you booked through Expedia, didn't you see it on the website...?'

Hydra is a fabulous place, with loads of beautiful bars and restaurants perched around the edge of the shore line. There are no sandy beaches (we could find), but that doesn't matter because there loads of platforms on the edge of the rocky shore-line that you can jump straight into the see from - brilliant!

Very nice hotel. We arrived very early in the morning so we couldn't check in but the manager provided us with a place to change and leave our bags. The only reason I gave a 4 not 5 was the manager seemed a bit snooty. Other than that it was a great stay.

The location could not be more perfect - close to the town center of an amazing Greek island, but so central that noise is a problem. The owners are lovely and so considerate, and put every effort imaginable into making their guests happy. We were upgraded to our own private veranda (without asking) and they made us a wonderful breakfast every day. Everything was clean and beautiful.
