Very good hotel

Clean, comfortable room. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast buffet. Good location a short walk from City Centre. Bus stop outside hotel with good service to centre and train station / airport monorail. Would certainly return !

The traditional property had a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly.

The system of taking a credit card number on booking and only taking the deposit a few days before the stay was nearly very problematic. My card issuer declined the transaction because I wasn't there to do the security checks. I nearly ignored the emails from the hotel about providing another card payment as spam and it was difficult as I was travelling.

Well Maintained Hotel near Excellent Restaurant

The hotel is located within 25m of a very good restaurant, Baklava. They serve very good Bolognese cuisine and is a must-try if you visit this city.

I had a 3rd-floor room facing the courtyard, and it is void of traffic noise. I did not hear ambulance sirens (there is a hospital nearby) during my 2-night stay. The hotel could be reached by city bus* from the Bologna Train Station (Main) - there is another train station, Bologna S. Vitale, which is one station before the Main Station if coming in from Florence.

*I mistakenly took an inter-city express bus which dropped me off at Bologna Rimesse stop, a 500m walk to the hotel. This was from a suggestion by a former guest at the hotel who posted his travel experience on this portal. The city bus is located in front of Baklava restaurant.

We had a fantastic experience at Hotel Liberty. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was extremely clean and they had a great selection of options for breakfast. We took the train from Rome to Bologna and the transfer was an easy bus ride to reach the hotel.

The only down side of staying in this area of Bologna is that you are NOT in the city center. It took us about 15-20 minutes or so to walk over to the center and after walking miles in both Rome and Florence we were used to it. We found some very nice restaurants in the area which were away from tourist areas, which were very good. Highly recommend this hotel!

Good Hotel, Close to Bologna University District

Good hotel close to the University District. Staff were friendly. They even went out of their way to set-up an ironing station to press clothes. It was greatly appreciated. Would stay here again. Only thing is I wish they could have kept the breakfast open until at least 10:30 AM.

Closed to the hospital in Bologna.

We stayed one night in the hotel. I chose it for the location as we needed to visit someone at the hospital, which is just opposite the hotel. When we checked out, we were told the amount to be paid. So I paid cash. Upon return home, I checked my credit card and an amount has also been taken for the one night also. Am waiting to get my refund as I should not be paying double.

Very far from the center (also in the web site it says in the center). the acoustic is to be desired. you can hear everything in the corridor and in the next room. the room is small to a point that you can't fit a suitcase (I don't know if it's a;; of them or not but main was. the water pressure is poor as well. the breakfast was great. My room had a balcony which was great for smokers but I don't think every room has one.

Nice hotel in walking distance of University of Bologna. There was a convenient bus service nearby. The hotel was near a co-op. Hotel staff were friendly and spoke good English. The room was nice; however, the bathroom was too small. The WiFi in the room worked well. Overall a good stay.

If you are willing to walk 20 minutes to the town center, or take a 5 minute bus ride to centra citta, the hotel is perfect- affordable and quiet, friendly staff, and clean rooms. Recommended budget travel stop.

Friendly and helpful staff; within walking distance of historic centre as advertised; bathroom and shower OK; functioning lift; room spacious but with undeveloped air conditioning. A surprise at breakfast was that cake(s) were supplied and no bread etc! Excellent value for money.

nightmare!

Room window was just outside a really busy street (24/7 busy!), so when we opened the window the noise was so excessive, we had to shout to talk, when we closed it, we couldn't breathe (NO AIR CONDITIONING! and it was 35'C outside)!
Staff nice, but not very cooperative. Breakfast... a poor coffee and a cake.

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in!
I didn't expect much for this price, but this was way below my expectations!

Frühstück war lecker - sehr gute Auswahl. Die Lage war top. 5-10 min zu Fuß bis ins Zentrum von Bologna.
Das Zimmer war für zwei Personen etwas kleinen, für einen kurzen Aufenthalt (bei uns 4 Tage) aber in Ordnung. Die Matratze des Bettes war leider nicht so toll. Nachts hat man jede Bewegung des Partners mitbekommen.

Rigtig god beliggenhed

Fint hotel med rigtig god beliggenhed. Pænt og rent værelse og søde medarbejdere i receptionen. Der er rimeligt meget larm fra gaden, men det vil der nok være de fleste steder. Fin morgenmadsbuffet med stort udvalg. Vi vil bo der igen hvis vi kommer til Bologna en anden gang.

Normales Hotel in guter Lage

Wir waren zwei Nächte im Standard-Doppelzimmer. Das Zimmer war geräumig und für die zwei Nächte passend - es war jedoch schon ein bisschen heruntergewohnt und könnte eine Renovierung gebrauchen. Das Zimmer war sauber und wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Das Hotel liegt an einer vielbefahrenen Straße, jedoch hat man den Straßenlärm bei geschlossenen Fenstern wirklich gar nicht wahrgenommen. Im Inneren ist das Hotel etwas hellhöriger, sodass man es hört, wenn die Türen der anderen Zimmer geschlossen werden. Die Lage ist wirklich super und man ist in ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß in der „Altstadt“. Frühstück und Service waren sehr gut. Alles in allem für die zwei Nächte ok, vor allem wegen der Lage.

Lovely staff, great location and clean rooms

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Liberty 1904. The hotel exceeded our expectations- the breakfast was great and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The hotel was located in a calm and quiet area, with only a walking distance to the city centre. While the hotel was very good, it was the staff who made this stay excellent with their their kindness and helpfullness.

Das Hotel ist durchschnittlich gut. Sehr zuvorkommend ist das Personal am Empfang gewesen, die Zimmer jedoch sind sehr sehr klein und hellhörig bzw. bei geschlossenem Fenster ist der ganze Straßenlärm zu hören. Das Frühstück ist recht sparsam, aber für italienischer Verhältnisse ok.

Für Geschäftsreisende sehr gutes Hotel was Preis/Leistung betrifft. Durch die Nähe zum Zentrum und zur Messe zu empfehlen. Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Bedingt durch Corona ist das Frühstück etwas kompliziert.

Si, ma i receptionist potrebbero anche sorridere!

Camera non disponibile fino alle ore 13.
Però ci è stato offerto un caffè e siamo potuti stare ai tavoli della colazione.
Reception abbastanza piccola.
Receptionist non troppo accoglienti e abbastanza freddi.
In compenso è stata molto simpatica, cordiale e solare l'addetta sudamericana alla colazione che ci ha accolto nel migliore dei modi. Un plauso per lei.
Quando abbiamo chiesto dove andare a mangiare per pranzo il receptionist ci ha mandato in una trattoria non facile da trovare, famosa 50 anni prima perché ci sono stati alcuni cantautori, ma mai più rinnovata. Solo dopo abbiamo scoperto che a pochi passi dall’albergo, nella stessa via c’erano almeno altre trattorie o locali in cui poter mangiare. Il receptionist non ci ha comunicato queste alternative. Questo mi ha fatto pensare ad un “inciucio” fra il receptionist e la trattoria in cui ci ha mandato. Per io resto camera ok, pulita e funzionale, buona la colazione con dolci e torte di pasticceria.
