Centrally located with many options for shopping, museums, historical churches and dining within walking distance . Eduardo was a great host attentive to needs. Only drawback was the stairs up after the elevator which was tough with our luggage after our trip but we managed.

We stayed in the most extraordinary room I have ever seen. All four windows overlooked the rooftops of Bologna. The light at all hours was like a painting. The remote control shades gave you control of the amount of light you experienced. It was complely private but you could see the cathedrals and towers unobstructed.
The staff was minimal but very helpful and gracious. The linens were clean and high quality. An extraordinary place.

This was definitely a unique property. It is in a very old building, located right in the piazza, with lots of dining options. We stayed in the Triple Room, on the top floor. There was a loft with another bedroom, but we did not use it. The Views from this room were unbelievable of the Churches and the rooftops. One of the best hotel views I have ever had. Santo Stefano Room.
So here's what you need to know:
This is not a Full Service Hotel. It is called a B and B, not to be confused with an Air B and B. There is a common area with refrigerator, but you cannot cook here, per Italian law. Off of the common area, there are several rooms for rent. There is not a Front Desk. You need to let the host know your approximate arrival time the day before. When you are on your way to the hotel, let the host know this and he will meet you there. There is no place to store your luggage while you are waiting. Our host arrived about an hour after we arrived, so we grabbed a chair in the piazza and had some snacks.
It is not really a good place to stay if you need handicap accessible. There is a small lift and some stairs to negotiate to get to the top floor. Perhaps there are some rooms on a lower floor.

Situated overlooking one of the most beautiful piazza in Bologna and close to any site in the old part of town. Piazza gets lively with bars and restaurants at night but you hear no sound in this beautiful apartment. Views from every room and the joy of old with modern amenities. Reminder there is a lift so you do not have to carry suitcases up the spiral stairs three floors. But not cars can enter the street so drop them at the corner and then go park. Great value.

Casa Isolani Santo Stefano is ideally situated for access to the museums, eating and transport facilities in Bologna. We spent ten days exploring Bologna and travelling out by train to nearby cities. We had two bedrooms and our own bathroom which were warm and comfortable. Breakfast was provided every morning at a nearby cafe - a different pastry each day. The shared kitchen allowed us to self-cater and a cleaner came in to keep everything nice. The manager kindly arranged airport transfers for us. Thoroughly recommended.

The residenze occupies the top of an old palace. It has been sympathetically and tastefully renovated and furnished blending the new with the old, Its’ location in a small, quiet piazza close to the city centre couldn’t be better. Our room was spotlessly clean and, for a loft, a very decent size. Not surprising for a loft in an old building it has a couple of low beams but they were not a problem.The bathroom likewise was large and modern. This room has tea and coffee making facilities available all day.
A lift is available to the third floor but people with mobility issues should bear in mind that there are a number of stairs to climb to get to the residenze proper.

Location, communication and panoramic view (which we paid extra for) was really good. However shower and bath was appalling with just a trickle of water. We ended up using the bin as a bucket to transfer water from the sink ( where hot water worked fine) to bath, as we gave up completely on the shower. This spoiled the overall experience completely and made this property poor value for money.

Great central location. A little hard to find without GPS. Difficult to contact without global roaming, which is diabolically expensive. However, once Mum and I checked in, after some kind help (after non-communication from the host) by the engaging staff at the restaurant next door and their staff calling for me, the accommodation was really very comfortable, cosy and private. Breakfast was very average but it was nice to have the common area to ourselves. Our room was spacious, supremely clean. Great view from the small windows of the terracotta roofs of Bologna. NIce place, very relaxing. Tiny elevator that mum needs. Then, very steep stairs (her words - she's 74) after the elevator.
Anyway, Casa Isolani was perfect for us. Great stay and recommended. A few things to work on, but that's always the same anywhere you go...

Although it was announced that there is no porter service, it was a bit unsettling that, expect for the lady coming to clean up the room and staying for a very short time, there was nobody around who could help in case something was not working or not clear.

The rooms are on the top floor of an amazing old palazzo just off the wonderful Piazza San Stefano. There is an incredible view over Bologna. The bedroom and en suite are luxurious, and there is a lovely breakfast room and roof terrace. The breakfasts are great - coffee, juice, cheese and meats, fruit and yoghurt, cakes and pastries. It was as if we lived rather grandly in the heart of the old town. We felt privileged!

Casa Isolani turned out to be a bit of a gem. It's beautifully presented - lovely big room and very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, safe, plenty of storage, good air-con. There is also a lovely little dining/kitchen area with a little terrace - where you can make a cup of tea or coffee and also have your buffet breakfast.

The apartment/B&B was situated on the top floor of a beautiful old building. The situation off Santo Stefano was perfect as it was both central yet very quiet and was just minutes walk from all the main attractions. The air-conditioning was much appreciated in temperatures of 36'C plus as was the small lift to our floor.

It was very nice except there was on e problem and that was that the elevator didn’t work and I had a lot of luggage to carry in several trips down and up many stairs! There was no one to help.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Bologna. On arrival you are met and shown around the building. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. The whole place was very clean. Toiletries were supplied and bathrobes. We didn't fly until later in the day but were able to leave our luggage at the hotel. Overall lovely wekend

Letizia was very responsive to any request. She was happy to arrange transport for us and was very friendly. Location was amazing, close to all historical sites. The breakfast was minimal and the complimentary water was not replenished during our stay but we would still stay there again for a return visit because of the amazing location.
