Good location. Furniture is old and bathroom window looks at the shared space. No trash was collected and room was not cleaned during the stay.

This is a well located property and although the beds were very small, they were clean and comfortable. It is on a busy and loud street, but the window closes out most of the sound. There was a major soccer match in town that evening so the crowds were rowdy and loud. It did not distub us, however.

We were unable to stay at this property as we were unable to locate it and when we called we were told parking was over 4 miles away and opened at 7 am. As we had a 6:30 am flight, this would not work for us. I, respectfully, asked for a partial refund and received an extremely rude reply. Please use caution when considering this property.

This is a bed and breakfast, not a full-service hotel. The location is great and the rooms are fine, but it's very hard to find the entrance and you're on your own in terms of services, such as finding a cab, which can sometimes be a challenge in Bologna. The price is also kind of high for what you get as it tied for the highest for my three-week trip with a Hilton. The breakfast is a bad joke. You get a token to go across the alley to a small cafe where you get just about nothing. I needed a cab to get to the airport and I had to throw myself at the mercy of the Roma Hotel about three doors down where I had stayed previously and thankfully they responded. I would say skip this place unless you are very familiar with how to operate in Bologna on your own.

A city centre gem!

We were met on arrival and checked in. Even with the football chat, it was smooth and efficient! The room was all we needed for a quick city visit. Elegant decor, lovely bathroom, comfy beds, perfect. The property is literally a stones throw from the Piazza Maggiore, so super close to restaurants and bars, and the historical sights. The building also has a lift. Very welcome when carrying luggage, or after a day sightseeing. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely book again if we go back to Bologna.

Inconsistent service

Excellent location. The room was clean, comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The only problems were the check-in/check-out and maid’s attitude. The check-in time was changed from 1400hrs to 1500hrs the day of arrival. We found a Osteria to wait it out. However, they didn’t arrive until 1530. The check-out time changed from the time of booking…luckily our hotel in Rome was able to check us in early. As to the Maid…we asked for an extra roll of bathroom tissue and she acted like it was her first born. Then as we went to leave, she was seated blocking half the hallway, on her phone, and didn’t move or acknowledge our request to move.

Nice location just off the piazza Maggiore. Elevator very convenient and very safe with double locks. Great bathroom and very clean nice daily service but no breakfast given a credit voucher to eat at a bar that has very rude service breakfast consist of one cup of coffee a croissant and a 4 ounce bottle of juice. No substitutions.

It was difficult to find, we called the number provided and the woman was rude but did send another women to let us in. The AC was broken and made a terrible noise. There is no front desk if you have any concerns. The location was good and the bed was comfortable. Only one set of keys.

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Isolani Piazza Maggiore. The views of the piazza are amazing! Rooms are clean, spacious and beautiful. We appreciated the noise-canceling windows, heated towel rack and large bathroom. We will stay here again when visiting Bologna.

The location was great, the room was great, the breakfast at the cafe around the corner was disappointing. It only included coffee, a pastry and juice. When I asked for more coffee it was 3 euro for another cup. Every other cafe in the area charged less than 1.5 euro. Most European hotels include a nicer breakfast

Location, welcome and comfort were excellent.

Marked down because a) the hot water wasn’t working, b) the curtains were falling off the runner and were too thin anyway to block the lights from the street, including Christmas lights, so I had to sleep with my head under the covers c) it would be nice to have creamer or milk for the coffee

Don't stay here if you want somewhere secure.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel/bnb.

Upon checking in and bringing out luggage into the hotel, I mixed up which floor we were on when we walked into someone else's room. We soon discovered that our room key was able to open multiple rooms.

I contacted the host immediately as this is a serious safety concern, who casually said that she must have mixed up the keys. I asked if she would confirm this was the case and come and collect the master key which she said she would do the following day.

This ruined our whole day in Bologna as we feared the security of the establishment, and didn't want to leave our belongings when anyone may be able to enter our room. The lack of concern or care from the host on this matter was really alarming.

I wanted to go to another hotel, but as this was paid - we decided to stay.

We spent the following night at a cheaper hotel that was much nicer, secure and larger. I would avoid this place, it's a rip-off and the host really doesn't care about issues with the property.

This is not a hotel. There is no reception. You must make an appointment to get in. All went well with that. But internet went out on weekend: no response. We did not get effective help with calling a cab to station. Had to go to hotel next door for assistance. More like AirBnB.
Room and building were fine. Location is superb, just on the corner of Piazza Maggiore. Loved Bologna as a destination for a repeat visit to Italy.

Modern, clean, lovely accommodation

We really were impressed with this location and the quality of the Room. We loved getting waters in the little refridgerator, there was an elevator to allow us to take our bags up stairs. One glitch we had was locating this accommodation. This is not technically a hotel rather a floor it which contains 4 guest rooms. Each have a lovely on suite bathroom and nice new flooring. It's important to know that the hostess will meet you outside of the door to get access for you. They need to know exactly when you will arrive or you need to call as soon as you are there. It is located between 2 shops so be aware of that as well and is simply some lovely wooden doors. It is located in a very safe area and while there is a lot of activity outside the Room was exceptionally quiet. The breakfast is very nice and located in a little bar not far from the accommodation.

It was OK. Good location and surprisingly quiet. The room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were uncomfortable and the service isn’t that great. The breakfast that was included Isn’t worth eating. Don’t pay for it. I don’t think they actually have a front desk - everything seemed to be run by distance from WhatsApp or email. It appears they stop working after 7.

The location is excellent. At the piazza majore. The owner is so helpful and welcoming. She accepted to do a late checkout although it was not planned. She replies directly to her emails, and replied to all my queries.
The room is so convenient and very clean. Same as in the picture.
She gave is her mobile number in case we needed anything.
Overall, excellent experience. I would highly recommend this hotel

Great central location and very secure. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable and the bathroom gave us the best shower of our trip. We walked everywhere from here.
When we stayed the noise from the Piazza was constant and loudIt iright into the wee small hours so impossible to sleep with the windows open and the air con not the greatest.

I liked how it was in the heart of Bologna ~ very strategic place to walk around every places you want to go as a tourist. Felt safe & so relaxed after walking most of the day even on a mid February weekend. Such an awesome view of the arts, music & people just trying to enjoy the lovely day. Not to mention all the food choices around 😘

A lucky find in a beautiful area in a beautiful city. Ideally placed for all the attractions and shopping.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
When I return to Bologna i wil certainly chose Casa Isolani again without hesitation

Hotel ideal location. Right in Piazza Maggiore. Walking distance to all
attractions. Proprietor was excellent & gave us good information. Hotel very clean & modern inside. Free water & common room to drink coffee, etc. Did not change our towels for the next day but serviced the room. Would recommend this hotel. Included was continental breakfast in restaurant ( half block away). Must make plans to meet proprietor to let us in as there is no front desk (only negative).

Fantastic central location!

This hotel was excellent - right in the heart of the historical downtown in the Piazza Maggiore, walkable to the Two Towers, museums, shops, great restaurants. Breakfast, included in the price, was at a little place around the corner where the staff was helpful and kind, despite how busy they were. Letizia, hotel owner, was flexible and supportive with special requests, including a late arrival. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with good security. Price quite reasonable. Couldn't ask for better. Note, the street (via D'Azeglia) is pedestrian only so a cab would have to let you off a little ways away, but not far at all. About a 20 min walk to the central train station.

Very pleased with the accommodation. Comfortable and clean. It is very central and right by the main Piazza Maggiore. The only negative was that there is no breakfast facilities at the accommodation. One has to walk a couple of minutes to a cafe for tea/coffee, croissant and orange. However, on the last day, which was New Year's Day 2018, we went to get our breakfast and it was closed.

Great Location

In spite of the building being in the historic center of Bologna, the Casa is updated and modern. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom huge. We could have used more hooks to towel racks, but that is a minor issue. Breakfast is in a coffee shop down the street and around the corner. They were kind and busy with the locals getting their coffee for the morning. There are tables to sit, both inside and out.

Fantastic location. You couldn't get closer to the centre of town
Beautiful room
We arrived very late and were met at the hotel. It was great. There is no reception at this hotel but we were still checked in at 01:00 on a Sunday morning. The rooms were spotless and well decorated.
Breakfast was at a café around the corner and was very good.
