Couldnt fault the hotel. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and location couldnt have been better. However, being in the centre of the city the noise outside the hotel on Friday and Saturday night went on until about 3.30 which made it impossible to sleep. Great the other two nights though.

The worst. We stayed at 10 hotels on our trip through Italy. This was by far the absolute worst place we stayed. It was so bad that we checked out early and paid for another hotel with no refund.

This property has no parking nearby so we had to park two blocks away and walk with our luggage.
The area was unsafe and covered in graffiti. At night there were gangs in the street making noise all night.
Early in the morning there were deliveries being made to the shops on the street below.
The noise was exacerbated by the fact that our window did not close.
Despite how unsafe the area was the safe in the room was broken and did not work. We had to get replacement batteries and even then they kept falling out.
The checkin times are restricted and there is noone at the property at night. So there was noone to speak to about the broken window.
The bed was terrible, sloping to one side which meant I had to put some pillows on the side to stop myself from falling out of bed.
Despite all of this we paid a premium price for this accommodation because it is located near the two towers.
I sincerely hope this place is shut down so that noone else has to experience this terrible place. Do not stay here.

Do not stay here. Terrrible service, awful experience. We were unable to enter the property because the instructions were unclear. After having to go to a separate building to pick up keys, we then made it to the apartment building only to find the room locked. We contacted the property but as it was outside of their check in time (after 7.30pm) we could not reach anyone. We were forced to book another hotel and this company refused to refund the cost of the night despite us not staying in the room due to their error (the manager admitted the instructions were unclear.)

Don't stay here.

We had high hopes for this place. The gathering area was so cute on their Expedia ad and it was in person also. I will start with the good stuff: The staff was absolutely wonderful. The room was clean and cute. It is also located in a good spot, a quick 10-15 minute walk to all the great shops and restaurants. But, the B&B is located on a VERY busy street. The air conditioning was not turned on at this time of year so we had to open the window, which brought in a nice, cool breeze. However, there was so much noise in the street outside that we had to keep the window closed, which made it hot and stuffy inside the room. Also, the noise was SO LOUD (and I can't emphasize this enough), that we could NOT sleep at all. We were woken up both nights we stayed there with people screaming in the streets for the entire night. The other complaint we had was the shower. It wasn't entirely closed and it made such a mess in the bathroom. The water splashed out of the shower enclosure and made a pool on the floor outside of it. The shower also did not drain quickly so we were standing in a pool of water during our shower. If you decide to get a room here, make sure you ask for a room off of the street side. You may be able to get some sleep while there.

Both in the evening and morning. I understand there might be more people showering at the same time but the last thing you want to do is wait an hour plus for water to get warm again.

Very nice place run by very nice people.

It was extremely clean and extremely well located in the centre of Bologna (just next to the 2 towers). The staff were really friendly. The breakfast was good but, be careful, it's only available after 8 o'clock which can be a bit late depending on what your plans are. When I had to leave early to take the train I was kindly prepared breakfast to go!

Enjoyed our 3 night stay in June 2024 at 051 B&B. Room was spacious and quiet. we enjoyed the generous breakfast and helpful reception staff. While our cab from the central train station dropped us off in front, the street in front is restricted so sometimes taxis must pick up & drop off passengers on the next block over. Perfect location in historic district, a block from the 2 two towers. Also a supermarket in on the same block as B&B. We walked everywhere except from train station & to airport which were too far with luggage.

If location is your main concern this is perfect. Every possible thing you might want to see the historic center of Bologna is within easy walking distance. Also the size of a typical hotel room and the bed and bathroom facilities were fine. However, I got a cold shower every time. I asked the staff to fix this and they said let’s go in your room I ran the faucet and the water was hot for them. Then I jumped in the shower and halfway through it turned ice cold. I don’t know why maybe somebody else is there hot water and their system is just insufficient. The hair rose on my back, but what could I do? I finished my ice, cold shower that day, and every other day I was in the facility four days total. There was a good safe in the room, a well sized closet, comfortable bed, but no refrigerator.

The two tower palazzo near 051 are in repair (and will be for years). This creates a problem for car service and foot traffic that cause crowds, dirt, and noise. Additionally, the location was VERY difficult to find and the streets/numbers are not well marked. The room was clean and beautiful, however, located in the back of the building where its windows open onto a shared-rooftop (not for a woman traveling solo). The best part was the staff! Kind and willing to go the distance to be of service.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It was centrally located and had a whimsical reception area with books and teacups suspended from the ceiling in a warm atmosphere. The breakfast was good and even had a couple gluten free items. But our room down the hall was really damp feeling and my mold allergies were starting to kick in. I'm glad we only spent one night there because it would have been a big problem.

The 051 apartments are a boutique style grouping of 4-5 quiet rooms in what was a large city apartment with a shared breakfast area. About the most convenient location you could ask for to main city attractions steps away and more convenient than most hotels in the area. Air conditioning worked well. Self serve Breakfast was very good and enough to satisfy most. Laura the front desk specialist was extremely helpful and attentive with directions and suggestions. Reminder that this is not a full service hotel, but who needs that when this is so charming and convenient.

The location is great. You are right in the city center. Property condition and cleanliness weren't the best, it needed maintenance. The room was not sound proof, and we could hear the people in the hallway and in the next room. The breakfast was weak, too little options. You also need to fill in forms and answer some messages before arriving to property, which we found a little cumbersome.

I am so glad I decided to stay here for two nights! I had considered staying near the train station for convenience, but it was so worth the extra cost to stay right in the heart of Bologna. You could easily walk to all parts of the historic center / market area within minutes and it is very close to the bus lines. The room was very comfortable and they had a good breakfast variety. The staff were super friendly and helpful. In fact, I panicked because I was running late for check in due to extreme rain and a total lack of taxis at the train station. One of the staff helped me via WhatsApp figure out the bus to take and which stop to get off so I could get to the property. She was very patient and kind even though I got there about 10 minutes past the end of check in. As I was checking out, I didn’t have much time to eat breakfast, so a different staff member packed me a little to-go bag. I was really impressed with their personal attention and their efforts to go above and beyond to make my time in Bologna enjoyable. I highly recommend!

We were only in Bologna for a single night, so wanted somewhere central. The bed and breakfast was easy to find with the directions provided and was really lovely inside. The decor was great and the rooms comfortable with everything we needed. We had breakfast in the morning which was also excellent.

The team were really helpful, both in advance of our stay, allowing us to arrive a little early to leave our bags, and similarly when we left.

I would highly recommend.

The most terrible experience to date

Excessive noise at night. No soundproofing at all in the room. Room doors with insecure locks and no electronic system at all.
Drunk guys hitting the building’s main entrance door and shouting at midnight (but without soundproofing the sound was like happening in your room)
Breakfast was well below expectations.
Did an early checkout after the first night since on the floor above a guy was playing video games and watching the news till 2am and the noise was too much to sleep.
After being reassured a refund would be issued, they changed their mind since they didn’t want to lose the money.
The definition of a terrible place to stay.

Google reviews from 5 years ago indicate the same noise issue but they seem to not care to fix anything. Pretty terrible experience.

This place is a fun hotel with lovely, friendly staff. The decoration in the main area is very cool and the room was good sized so nice for afternoon 'siesta' as it was 40C while we were there.
Breakfast is nice and varied (although a little too much on the sweet side).
The location is brilliant - very close to shops, sights and restaurants (which they recommended and all were excellent).
Definitely consider 051 if you're in Bologna!

The staff are the nicest and most patient people we have experienced travel all over the world. They went out of their way to make sure we are taken care of. Not only they provided us a parking space in the old town, but when i was worried i could not find it after checking google map, they sent 2 person there to wait for me and even parked the car for me as I am not good at parking in small space that js typical in Europe. The hotel is in the old town and there is an elevator for our luggage. The room is nice and the bathroom is big. We are very happy.

What a beautiful and charming place to stay in Bologna!

Everyone was so friendly & helpful at 051 suites!’ Breakfast was very good. Great location! The only thing I would recommend to be aware of is that this is not a quiet part of town. You are in the middle of the city and can hear the outside noise as if it were in your room and same with the upstairs neighbors.

Fabulous little B and B right in the heart of Bologna couldn’t be a better location. Lovely fresh breakfast and snacks all ways available. Very helpful and informative staff. Our only criticism was the noise that came from the flat above, sounded at times like there was high heeled dancing going on at 2am! But
Not the hotels fault, the trouble with being in a block of apartments and not the whole building belonging to 051! But a lovely place to stay and explore Bologna.

The room was lovely, although brighter lighting is needed for reading. The breakfast is a bit limited with far too many cakes and not enough savoury items, such as eggs. The location is excellent for sight-seeing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One key per couple is awkward as it meant that someone always had to be nearby with the key. However, one serious drawback is the noise level from the apartments above. The early morning cleaning is very noisy from around 06:30 with banging, and the loud hum of vacuum cleaners. This spoiled an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Amazing welcome! So friendly and helpful, with lots of good local tips and even helped prepare a bag of ice for my husband's sprained ankle. Beautiful, quirky boutique hotel with great attention to detail in the decor and design. Loved the black out blinds on the windows and the free refreshments (cakes, fruit, hot drinks) in the lobby area. Breakfast was also nice, although too many sweet things for my tastes - would have prefered more savoury options (eg eggs). We had a room at the back, so it was nice a quiet. I'm guessing the rooms at the front might get a bit of noise at the weekends, as it is a very central spot, but to be honesty the windows seemed to be doing a good job of blocking traffic noise, so perhaps not...?

Unfortunately, breakfast doesn't begin until 8 AM, which is late; further, the property is one flight up over a supermarket: from 6-7 each morning of our visit, there were very loud deliveries to the supermarket--a truck delivered palettes, first stacking them and then rolling them noisily on hand trucks.

We loved staying at 051. Salvatore and Baddy could not have possibly been nicer and more helpful to us. They bought special food for breakfast for my wife because she is gluten free and vegan, they helped us rent a car, and every restaurant or excursion they recommended was wonderful. 051 is also in a great location for all tourist activities, right next to the two towers. We will definitely be back as soon as possible.

You couldn't have had a much better location, in the shadow of the Two Towers. From the moment of arriving, we could not have been better looked after. Baddi was the \"concierge\" who checked us in, straight away he gave us a wealth of information and places to check out. The \"living room\" was tastefully and quirkily decorated, with tea, coffee and cakes available 24/7. Extremely comfortable rooms matched with a yummy breakfast selection. Bologna was not to be missed and staying with 051 Room & Breakfast was just the sauce on the pasta!!! There are suites available if you want to spoil yourselves just that little bit more :) Thanks also to Salvatore for his attention and service during our stay...just fantastic!!

Nice, small and homley

The hotel is nice, clean in central location. The stuff is kind and helpful, free tea, coffee and sweets are available all the time for hotel guests. The only thing is that the rooms (at least ours) are rather small, no place to open the suitcase, no table to pun on laptop or other things, just (rather small) bed and closet. The bathroom is decent size though and the shower is nice. For two nights it was OK and we will gladly stay there again.

Pluses: clean room, location.
Minuses: treatment of clients, starting the beginning of communication via email, which was just oposite to promo of the hotel. Don't even want to go to details but they violated privacy data protection, were telling we must provide personal data scanned( passport) before arrival in order it to be sent first to police ( bcs of some italian law!!?). This issue appeared bcs I was not sure who will be first to check in- me or my friend. And as later it was clarified that my friend comes first, which was not the person making the booking, all this started. Felt if we were suspected or criminals. At one point was almost to give up bcs of such treatment but decided not to just to give the second chance as they were rated of almost 10 points. Actually I am frequent traveller including within ITA and till now it has never been such request made for me. During all trip they even did not excused. Additionally there was an issue with early departure and booking of taxi- three times rearranged, etc. So for good location and clean beddings you definately can find better solution than this hotel. By the way- coffee is just perfect. The rest of the breakfast is avarage, mostly sweet stuff, so for those who wished rich breakfast it is not the best option. Hope they will change their approach to really become 10 points value hotel.

Best B&B

One of the most beautiful bed and breakfast we have ever stayed. We had rented a car and getting around by car in this area is not easy. We could not find the parking they had recommended so I ran up to ask for directions and the gentleman got into the car with us and directed us to the parking and helped us with our luggage. They recommended places to see and eat. Breakfast and simple and tasty. Always coffee, tea, fruit infused water and snacks available. The location is close to everything. The inn itself is so beautifully and tastefully decorated. The staff is super friendly and fun. Had a wonderful, relaxing time.

Great centrally located hotel

This was a great place to stay, the gentleman on reception was extremely helpful and polite, happy to answer any questions and recommend places to eat. The building itself is perfectly situated and is not a great distance from any location that you would want to visit, and only 20 min walk to the train station.
The room was tidy and spacious, and the public kitchen area (open 24 hour for tea and coffee whenever you need) is very uniquely decorated, would certainly recommend :)

We stayed at 051 after around a week and a half of traveling through other areas of northern Italy. When we arrived it was a nice change of pace from the more touristy areas. The owner was warm and welcoming and the property was beautiful and within walking distance of espresso and really authentic restaurants. We will definitely be returning

Amazing place to stay in Bologna

Just got back from an amazing time in Italy and stayed at 051 for a few days. Loved it and we can't say enough about the high customer service that Salvatore and his staff provided us with; from restaurants to local sites. They were well informed and happy to share information about the beautiful city of Bologna. The rooms were modern, clean and perfect as a base in down town Bologna. We hope to return again soon.

Very nice place in Bologna - maybe a little quirky. Be sure to arrange parking beforehand.
