The room and hotel are gorgeous! The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had to leave my 91 year old mother in the lobby while I went to park the car and she was well cared for even before we checked in! The breakfast was way above average! I would stay here again if the occasion arose.

We had a great experience at Hyatt Downtown St. Paul. All the staff we interacted with were very nice, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and beautiful with the tall ceiling and drapes that open with the push of a button. Loved having two sinks in the bathroom. It was overall, a very quiet, peaceful stay, no thin walls where you can hear your neighbors having conversations… a huge plus! Breakfast was good and a nice variety. The only inconvenience was not having a microwave in the room but, they have one in the breakfast area we used. Parking was a little inconvenient as well, we opted out of paying $39/day for valet but, minimal street parking and other ramps are available. We found a garage for $4 on the weekends, which was very affordable and less than a block from the hotel entrance.

What my husband and I enjoyed most about this hotel is the decor and friendly staff. Everything else was average. Improvement would be room service and daily housekeeping. Also, this building is kinda cool but the view from the 5th floor was blocked by a brick wall. The room was presented as a high floor but it felt like we were in a basement.

Our room was great, beds comfortable. Would have liked a few more amenities (ex body lotion) provided. Check in experience was ok (not great). The women at the check in desk seemed very overwhelmed with the small line up of guests checking in (4 people). She did not want to answer our questions (impatient). She was rude to the elderly gentleman checking in in front of me, made an unnecessary comment ‘there must be a good deal on room rates today’ and was unable to answer my questions regarding parking. Provided breakfast was average.

Room was only cleaned once, and towels at that time were not restocked. I called the night of the cleaning as my white bathrobe I had brought from home was missing - it must had been picked up with the dirty towels - it was never returned. I didn't realize that the bar doesn't open until 5:30 and the menu served there was very limited. Drapes had two handprints on them that looked like they came from a horror movie. The breakfast was pretty good and staff I actually interacted with were friendly.

The room was in good condition, however there was debris on the floor as though it had not been vacuumed and tissues on the floor by the window. Other than that, the room was clean. No microwave. The couch area was very far away from the where the tv was over by the beds, which was unfortunate. We spent a little more time in the room due to weather than we would have normally, so these things stuck out.we originally reserved one night but then booked another night online so we could come up early due to expected weather. The morning staff at the desk the morning after check in, a woman, was not overly friendly and barely spoke with me when I approached about combining my two nights so we could stay in the same room. The shower in our bathroom was leaking and flooding the floor. The second room had a really strong smell. Throughout our stay, there was only 1 employee working in the evening. She was working the front desk, bar, and kitchen alone. Whenever we needed something, there was a significant wait time (which wasnt the employee's fault). On day 5, the entire hotel had no water. We had to stay out all day until it was fixed. When we returned, there was water, but no hot water. This was the last straw.

The doors make a lot of noise when they shut, so that might be a problem for some. Had to park across the street in the ramp, I think it was $16/day, so not bad. Has a washer and dryer for laundry, only takes quarters. There's a water fountain by the bathrooms. Very high ceilings, which is a nice feature. Very quiet (besides the doors). Breakfast was great; nice open seating area. Not many exciting options for restaurants nearby. But, the The Lost Fox has an amazing burger and is a fun place to eat. There's also a nice, little restaurant in Union Depot. Overall, great place to stay. A bit of a pain in the ass getting your luggage back and forth from the parking ramp. But, I think most people would enjoy staying here.

Got talked into doing the valet. Told me it would be safer than the public lot and it a heated garage. THEY NEVER PARKED MY CAR THE LAST NIGHT. I brought my keys to valet (after waiting 10 minutes for an attendant), showed my ticket amd handed over my keys. I said it was outside down the block a little and asked if they could park it. The young guy said he'd park it. Next morning, I go to get my vehicle ans they cant find it. I went down to the garage as well and it was not there. Lastly, checked outside and there it was - where I left it for the valet. They 'comped' it for me, but was it really a comp if it was never parked?

Staff at check in was not very friendly. Then we found out from another guest that the hot water was broken. It’s 9:30 pm and we still don’t know if we will have hot water for showers in the morning. Later we went down to eat and one pour woman was handling check-ins as well as the bar and restaurant. Poor woman was running all over the place. Dinner was not great. No flavor and thrown together but our host was trying. She could’ve used more support. The room was fabulous and the hotel was next to the train station so very convenient.

While the rooms were fine with lots of space and walk in showers, they never came in cleaned the whole time we were there (4 nights), and we had no hot water the last two days due to frozen pipes. Great place to stay however we experienced a hot water issue (as in no hot water) for 2 of the 3 days we were there AND it was my son’s wedding weekend, affecting us and as well as all of the out-of-town guests that came to the wedding.

Yes...the room was in good condition and the staff was friendly. Saturday we had no hot water and had to take cold showers. Not ideal for cold weather. Would have liked to have had access to water for water bottles. Breakfast was less than ideal. Eggs were a bit farther away from real eggs than I care for. Would have liked an option other than Canadian bacon. Sausage and/or bacon is preferred. Couldn't watch the tv unless in bed. Would have liked to have had a tv in the sitting area also. The doors were too loud closing. I heard every door close on the floor and couldn't close mine quietly though I tried.

Yes, the room was spotless, (loved the super high ceiling).
Staff was very helpfull and friendly and gave good suggestions for eating establishments. I was taking an amtrack train earlry in the morning so the station being directly across the street was perfect.
If needed I'll stay here again in the future.

Super clean, loved our room, super spacious and cozy. Breakfast was super delicious. Drove by 3 times until I figured where to park so I was a little annoyed by that and the lady that checked us in seemed a bit annoyed. But aside from that I loved our stay. Will definitely be back!!

Workers were difficult, didn’t get all of my $100 back even tho the room was perfectly fine and our car got towed after 10 mins. But the hotel itself is very nice just needs different people

It is a fabulous building with a lot of history and we loved how it was renovated! The only negative aspect of our stay was the time it took to get our car from the valet. The valet attendants were kind and courteous, there just was not enough staff. At peak checkout time, there was only one valet and he did the best he could. If we would have needed to get somewhere in a timely manner, that would not have happened!

Amazing hotel, rooms are beautiful with massively high ceilings with electric blinds. Only a couple things I didn’t love was the water pressure in our room was so bad it was almost comical. Also since I like a cold room I wasn’t able to adjust to cool it down, there was no heat or cold settings just what ever the rest of the building is set up for. Obviously the heat was active so it would only have air circulation, which only brought the temp down to about 71
