Cute hotel with professional and kind staff. They always greet you with a smile and encourage questions about the area and nearby attractions. Complimentary pastries and coffee (machine for lattes, etc) available in the morning along with pleasant conversation. Rooms are small but this is typical for London accommodations. Enjoyed our stay!

A warm & friendly home away from home

I had a lovely stay at the Melita hotel. Anna & Cash who both worked in the reception was more than friendly, they were lovely.
The atmosphere is warm and familiar the staff is more than helpful. Although the hotel doesn’t serve breakfast they offer free coffee and pastries in the morning to take into your room if wanted. The also offered a discount at a restaurant nearby for breakfast out. This hotel is my only choice next time in London

Excellent convenient hotel

The Melina was terror. Very welcoming and helpful with a comfy bed, hot shower with heated towel rack, and a specially brewed cup of coffee in the morning. They went beyond the call to make the service perfect. And the perfect place to stay for sights and choirs.

Expensive hotel for an uncomfortable nights sleep

Small hotel close to Victoria Station.
Room was clean and adequate - kettle provided with teabags but no coffee. There was a menu to purchase coffee.
The mattress was lumpy and the springs could be heard and felt moving in the mattress. Not sure the last time, a new mattress was purchased for room 36 but I'd recommend it's top of the list.
The bathroom was only adequate - plastic, non-recyclable glasses and an electric shower with no pressure.

Staff were exceptionally accomodating. Answered all of our questions about the area. Conveniently located, short walk to Pimlico Tube station and reasonable walk to Victoria station. Walking distance to all the major attractions in Westminister. Room was small, as expected in London. The coffee and pastries in the morning were a bonus. Absolutely nothing bad to say about the hotel or staff.

The single room (1 person) was the smallest room I've ever stayed in, in 40 years of traveling. It wasn't terrible if you're not planning on a lot of room tim, which I wasn't. The staff was very responsive to any request I had. Pastries and coffee served in the AM.

I stayed in the single room (Room 24). Got the room on extremely short notice, which I was grateful for. If you're interested in a place that is close to PLAB exam spot near Vincent square, this is a great location. It is a 5-8 minute walk.

First impressions were excellent! The hotel is well situated, easy to get to and in a quiet (yet very central) neighborhood.
Even though we arrived incredibly early (hoping only to store our luggage until the room was ready), management/ownership graciously found a way to get us into a room early in the morning!! This was unexpected and MUCH appreciated.
Our room was on the top floor (in a building with no elevator) - but the hotel made sure we had help getting our bags up to our room.
Our stay included specialty coffee and pastries at breakfast. These were DELICIOUS and waking-up to the aroma of freshly baking pastry was heavenly.
We loved our stay here. The room was spacious and lots of hot water in the shower. I wish there was a way to have some sort of air conditioning in the rooms and not just fans. Our room was rather warm on at least one night, even with the fans running. This is a very minor criticism as we booked the hotel knowing that A/C was not available.
Location was fabulous - we were able to get everywhere in London with ease. We even walked to Buckingham Palace! Area felt very safe, even when returning to the hotel at night.
Overall, highly recommended!

The property is centrally located and is within walking distance or a bus hop to most central London attractions. This is not a hotel but looks like a row house converted to tourist rooms. The room was too tiny with no headspace. It was dusty and dirty with hair all over (gross). The bathroom was too tiny and impractical to take a shower. And worst, there was no lift and it was hard to climb up and down narrow and steep stairs well.

We ended up moving to Park Plaza a couple of blocks away, for the same price. It was a proper hotel!

While the staff were professional and I felt in good hands, I undo had two terrible nights of sleep on the most uncomfortable, hard mattress in a very crammed tiny, stuffy bedroom. I’m a regular business commuter to London and paid close to 200 pounds a night. The quality of sleep and lack of comfort is the worst I’ve had in years.

This is a go-to hotel of ours in London. Good location for us. However, like many of the converted hotels, the rooms are small, there are no lifts, and AC is lacking. Our room got a bit too warm, even in early June.

The hotel was clean, and in a safe and quiet area, yet is still very close to all the major sites and has plenty of public transportation options nearby. The staff however, was not great. We were woken up at 9 am every morning because the housekeeping team wanted to clean. We were on vacation and jet lagged, and being woken up so early each morning wasn't the best experience. Each day we asked them to come back at a later hour, yet they would continuously come to clean around 9 am every day. If we asked them to come back at a later time to clean they either refused or gave us a lot of attitude about it. Additionally, there is a sign printed out and hanging up in the room that states checkout is at 11 am. Around 9:30, they called the room to ask why we hadn't checked out yet. We explained that we were hoping to checkout at 11, as this is both the typical checkout time and this was the checkout time listed in the room. They were a bit rude about it, but allowed us to checkout at 11 am. When we went down to the reception to checkout, I (very politely) asked why we were expected to leave prior to our checkout time. The man at the front desk was very rude and kept on insisting that checkout is at 10:30 am (why were we called an hour prior to this?). I showed him a picture of the sign in the room that said checkout was at 11, and he continued to rudely insist that checkout was 10:30. He was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even look me in the eye.

The smallest room ever, superior single!!!!

The people were really nice but it doesn’t take away the fact the room was like a large cupboard. I went with superior double and when the guy showed me to the room, we both couldn’t fit in there at the same time. I went for a superior single, had I have gone for standard presumably I would have had to sleep stood up. WiFi was rubbish and somehow damaged my laptop that cost me 1hour with IT the day after. Mattress was very old and sloped one way. I hate staying in London.

Great location. Very convenient to the Victoria and Pimlico stations and the 24 bus stop (direct line to Westminster and Trafalgar Square) next to the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is clean.

This hotel price was supposed to include breakfast. It did not. That was false advertising in my estimation.
The staff was very pleasant, but overall i was rather disappoineted.

The staff were great and very helpful.

Breakfast:
We didn’t get breakfast but this seemed very limited for the option on their site.

Parking:
WARNING for drivers, the app mentions onsite parking. The hotel does NOT have parking. I drove expecting somewhere to park, this was not the case. There is street parking for residents with permits week days and free for the public over the weekend.
There is 24 hour Q-Parking nearly but this is £30 per day and on average 10minutes walk from the hotel.

Taking your car:
The hotel is just outside of the central congestion zone, make sure you check your vehicle doesn’t incur charges before you leave to get to the hotel, it is within the ULEZ area.

Snacks:
There are plenty of shops for food and drink a short walk away.

Underground:
The closest station is Pimlico, roughly 6 minutes walk.

Check in was easy and they let us store our luggage while our room was being prepared and we found a place to eat breakfast (we got to the hotel around 10am). It's in a nice part of London, had several restaurants within walking distance and was an easy walk to public transportation. I think the room was a little expensive, but no more than other places we stayed in other countries we visited.

What a gem of a hotel. Staff friendly and efficient. We had a superior quadruple room for two adults and two children which was well presented and clean - perfect for our needs. Located a few minutes walk from Pimlico tube, which is on the Victoria line so easy to get to tourist atractions. We walked back from the London Eye which took about 30 minutes. Would recommend.

This was our second stay at the Melita. Clean, quiet, comfortable with friendly staff. Room is small, very little room around bed making it difficult to move around. The bathroom was spacious compared to the living quarters. Within easy walk of Victoria Station. Overall, a good bang for the buck.

I stayed here with my daughter for her birthday. The room was very clean and modern with a small balcony. We stayed in room 36, it had a single bed and a double bed. The bathroom was clean with a good shower. The staff were helpful and polite. We found that there were many places to eat in walking distance as well as a Sainsburys. The transport links were very close too.

Lovely hotel. Very welcoming. Our room was very good condition but a bit cramped (tight to move around in). Not unusual for London though.
Could do with those little cards which hang on the room door to say do not disturb though. Felt a bit pressured to leave the room in the morning after a few knocks on the door from housekeeping.

Given the earlier reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. Yes the water in the shower takes long to heat but once you are aware of that you are able to plan accordingly.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is more than adequate and the rooms are comfortable. Plus, you're surrounded restaurants, you are able to walk to Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus and other central London locations or take the metro using one of the two nearby stations.

I actually extended my stay here and highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Room was small (shower stall very small) but comfortable, beds were good. No elevator to our room on second landing but reception clerk took our bags up for us. Good location, easy walk to Pimlico underground station, not far from Victoria station as well. The staffs are very professional and helpful , the hotel is super clean and neat ,actually we felt like we are in a royal place !! The room is unbelievably nice and clean with a beautiful balcony !! Everything you need in room is there for you !! Oh that complementary tray ... coffee , tea , hot water pot sugar , mugs , cutlery etc....location is awesome ( Victoria station ) is 4 min walking ! Pubs , restaurants are one block away !! In one final word : I’ll be BACK !!!!!

I booked a double room for 2 adults and a child with 3 beds for two children and an adult I asked that via email prior arrival as well . Upon arrival I was given a room with a double bed and an extended sofa and charged 120 pounds extra . Displeased as I felt cheated . The receptionist kind but kept winking when speaking with me . Room key troubled at times ( door had to be left unlocked got a whole) but fixed . Breakfast and care cleanliness very good. I expect a refund for extra payment

Denne var minimal og de krevde ekstra betalt for juice, fikk kun kaffe og vann. Frokost tallerken var i beste fall en barneporsjon. Men bra beliggenhet i forhold til undergrunn og Victoria stasjon

Check-out time is 10:30 AM and check-in time is 3:00PM. No free baggage deposit service before check-in or after check-out time. Hot water system is slow. Feel at home. Good lounge with half bathroom which is occupied almost all the morning time. Good location with a lot of small hotels nearby.

Great hotel, within walking distance of many fine eateries, bars and pubs. It was lovely and quiet and the beds were probably the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly and the breakfast was filling! I will definitely be using this as base camp for any future London trips.

I had a single room which was incredibly small. The closet had literally two hangers. There was no chest of drawers, so I had to leave my clothes in the luggage which was in the middle of the floor blocking the door, since there was so little floor space. On the good side, the location was good, fairly close to the underground On the bad side the walls are paper thin.

Good location stay with some short comings

let's talk about the good part.
Location - very good, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey are 20 plus minutes walk, with the Tube station not far from it. generally surrounding is safe as that's the city area
Room - Surprisingly big, I was given a double bed and a single bed, granted that there is no much space left but still at that price point, i would think it is value for money. The room's condition was good as well. Even though it is an old building, it is nicely renovated
Service - Very competence, nothing out of the ordinary but the staffs were generally friendly and approachable

Here comes the bad part:
Wifi - What wifi? regardless they tried to explain, their wifi is non-existence in the room. You can get some slow speed in the lobby. while they explained that many is sharing the wifi, but that doesnt explain why I couldnt get a connect at 5am in the morning. If constantly connected is your concern, then this place is not for you. It wasnt an issue with me as I was busy outside site seeing.
Water-Speed - While there are hot and cold water, the speed or force of the flow wasn't the best. that means a longer time in the shower
Lift - being an old building, there is no lift, so either ask for help or ask for the ground level room
Aircon - there are no aircon installed (but yes there is heater) I stayed during the colder season so that wasnt an issue, but i can image it will be hot during the summer time.

Overall, it was a good stay in a good location.

Small but very clean room on 5th floor. Great and friendly staff. Would stay again.

The room was very nice, quiet and clean. However the bed was very uncomfortable and unfortunately the bedside alarm clock had not been reset so I woke with a shock at 5:30am!

Choose a different hotel. Lots to choose from!

When we arrived, we were assigned to room 23. I thought we would be on the 2nd floor, but we were in the basement! There was an \"emergency exit only\" door 8 feet from our room. It was open and it led directly outdoors. The staff member said the door was for staff and not to worry, because \"this is a safe area\". The fact that she had to say that was odd. I wasn't comfortable. When we entered our room, the bed wasn't completely made. They didn't have the pillow coverings on the pillows. The woman who brought us to the room pooh-poohed it, saying the pillows are only decorative. She had to return 2 or 3 times to rectify the situation. Then I wanted to close and lock the window, but I couldn't reach. I got up on the bed and found it is on rollers! The wheels didn't even lock! Every time we moved at night, the bed moved. In the morning, I went to make coffee. The hot pot wasn't emptied either. I would not recommend this hotel. Not only were we in the basement, but all the floors were tiled and the breakfast room was directly above us. We found out that the \"emergency exit\" door near us was where the staff went to get dishes or many other things for breakfast. There was constant traffic over our room and outside of our room. As we were inside our room preparing to leave, two hours before check-out, a maid opened the door and was surprised to see us. The wi-fi was sketchy. We had to sign in numerous times. All in all, a very poor experience.

Delicious breakfast, although you can't enjoy it if you have an 8am tour because it's not available until 7:30 am. Nice welcome tray. Room was clean and comfortable. It was difficult to shower because the stall was very narrow.

We had everything we needed for a weekend break. Nice bed, TV, clean bathroom, kettle, desk. It was a 5 min walk from the nearest underground station, and that was great.

Nice location and hitel

We have stayed in Pimlico a few times and know that this is a quiet, safe area. The Melita is very similar to hotels we have previously stayed at so we were very satisfied with what we had booked.

The only problem we had with our booking is that we were told we would get city views, but upon arrival we were lead to the rooms on the lower floor meaning our view was of some concrete. These rooms also felt like they were squeezed in to fit as many as possible and left us feeling slightly claustrophobic in the hallways.

Other than that, the room itself was lovely and clean, the staff were very friendly and all amenities worked without a glitch.

Well located near Victoria station

Around the area there are many look alike hotels, so before booking Melita check price and amenities of all of them, to make a wise decision.

Ok, if its just to sleep, but beds are hard and bulky

We only stayed two nights and assumed that is why we had a room in the basement but would have preferred a room on another floor. The light in the hallway would go on and off and would shine underneath the door lighting up our room. We had to put a towel on the floor against the door to keep the light out. One of the taps in the bathroom wouldn't close off properly and that was fixed the next day. Breakfast area was clean and neat and was served promptly. Would stay at The Melita again.

Location: close to tube, bus, stores, pubs but also calm and quiet place. Staff is very helpful. Yes the room was not big but It is enough for us. Also tv was small and it is the best way to get sleep after long day in the city. Breakfast was good as well as coffee. Bed is comfortable enough. I did not regret about my choose.

Great location, clean rooms but small. The shower takes a while to heat up and very low pressure. Staff are nice, no elevator so they helped climb the 36 stairs to our room. Great neighbourhood and 5 minute walk to the subway
