The Seehaus, originally a Salzkammergut Seevilla built in 1895, is now lovingly run by Magdalena Leifer, the third generation of her family to manage the property. Located directly on Lake Wolfgang, just a short walk from the town center, it offers easy access to restaurants, shops, the boat station, the Schafbergbahn, and the 'Überfuhr' (passenger and bicycle ferry).
A child-friendly beach sits directly in front of the house, providing numerous watersports opportunities. The Seehaus offers 15 self-catering apartments with kitchenettes and 3 double rooms.
Guests can also enjoy a cozy salon with lake views, featuring a shared kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, as well as coffee, tea, and beverage vending machines. The salon is available for general use and can also be rented for private events such as birthdays, christenings, and weddings.

The room was amazing, so spacious, spotless. Kitchen well equipped. The view from the balcony in the mountain room was amazing. The quiet zone was a lovely view too, where you could get a coffee any time of the day. Vending machine for snacks. The heating in the room was on most of the time, huge lovely radiator, just what is needed when its freezing outside. Location amazing for the three christmas markets and the cog wheel train.

Excellent location- very relaxing holiday spot! Very good amenities, and very nice to have a common chill zone. Kitchen is well equipped ( although we didn’t use it since so many good restaurants are nearby!).

Well maintained and renovated property. Missing one star for not informing us about the extra EUR 35 charge for the kitchenette cleaning fee. Have stayed at many places with kitchenette and it’s the first time I’ve been informed we need to pay extra for it. Should have been included in the room price.

Stay was amazing. Location is beautiful and could not ask for better. It was truly a magical experience for us. There were plenty of things to do around. Staff and the owner especially made us feel very welcome and always smiling. Overall we had a great family time. Would highly recommend this property.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The studio apartment was a good size and equipped with everything we needed. We looked out onto the garden at the side but still had a good view of the lake from the balcony. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre.
The lakeside garden has plenty of loungers, there are bikes and paddle boards available to borrow and trampolines etc for those who bring children.
The staff were exceptionally helpful - we really cannot fault this accommodation.

Lovely place, quiet and accessible walk to town. Go across street to private area, sit and enjoy the lake and mountain view. ONLY PROBLEM room was super hot, no AC and could not leave door open because a few bugs flew in. My husband didn't like that he had to pay for the coffee and bread. The manager was a lovely lady, very helpful. People in the town, not so much! Not engaging at all!

THE HOTEL IS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE.
We got to the property early around noon and found no one at the reception area and as directed used the bell. A young person with his mouth full of food came to show us a sign that said check in is a 3.00pm. We walked to the small. town to have lunch when we came back a lady this time a gave us a room that was not what we had picked everything was wrong with this room we showed her the reservation and she said we are sorry this is the room we have available now. We stayed that one night it was horrible we left at 5.00 am unable to sleep because we had insects in our room. Sept 19 we showed at our next hotel and they graciously took us one night ahead of our reservation. We want Seehaus Family Leifer of Sankt Wolfgang im Salzkammergut to returns our money as they did not fulfill their part of the bargain.

Unacceptable surcharge for basic room cleaning: We had to ask about getting our room cleaned. They told us we had to put a sign on the door for the room to be cleaned. Then on check out, we got a 45 euros surcharge for cleaning. It turns out there is no included change of sheets and towels, even for longer stays (5 nights). The explanation we received was that it was because we booked with Expedia and that the booking didn’t cover the cleaning (they also failed to mention this surcharge when we asked).
Lack of proactive communication: Everything we had to figure on our own. How to get the room cleaned (but see issue above), how to get bread, where things were, etc.
Good location and view: besides all the annoyances, we enjoyed our stay. The place is not too far and not too close to the busy town (for our taste), and the lake is gorgeous from this angle.
No AC: It was hot during our stay. Whether we could open our window at night was contingent on who were our neighbours. It worked out ok, except one night where we had a noisy one and had to keep the windows closed to sleep.

Excellent location, with room overlooking the lake. Seating was available in the garden to be able to take our own breakfast to enjoy outside. Across the road from the hotel was a private garden area with a jetty. Sun lounges and umbrellas were available along with canoes and paddle boards to use.
The town centre was only a short walk away with plenty of shops, bars and places to eat.

We arrived 5:30pm, within the limit of checking time, and the front entrance was locked, nobody attended the front desk. 10 mins later when a hotel guess exit, we gained entrance and ringed the dell at the front desk for another 10 mins, nobody attended. We went out again and at the far end of the entrance stair, a notice listed few names and the phone no. to call for help. We tried 1st & 2nd, no answer and the third answered and came within 4 mins. She apologized and was helpful to show us our room.
That wasn't a nice experience. Any international guess may not be so handy to have a mobile phone to communicate a local no. Even he can, international roaming may be very high.
Besides the bad experience in checking in, all other parts of our stay was fine. Starting with the hotel located in a quiet area yet restaurants and main streets of St Wolfgang can be reached by 5-10 mins walk. The famous uphill train and the ferry are just 2 mins away, The room assigned was good size with partial lakeview balcony. The kitchenette was completed and functionable for those who intend to prepare their own breakfast/meal as this hotel has no restaurant and not offering breakfast. The beds and linen are clean and comfortable. We wish we have enough time to relax in their private beach, regretfully we only stay 1 night which was too rush.

Parking was only 3 euros a day, and was right outside of the building. The lake is beautiful and the private access is well kept with plenty of boats and paddle boards to use. Everyone was super friendly I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was a great stay

Honestly, this was just so perfect. We booked super last minute (two days before) a reasonable rate for the lake view double room. I emailed the hotel to say that we would be arriving after check in and Magdalena was easy to talk to and explained the key safe directly outside the reception door. Parking was spacious, key safe easy to use and our room was perfect. Clean, loads of space and a big balcony. We were late to check out, when I went to reception to pay a fee Magdalena explained that we could stay as late as we liked for free as it was not busy at this time. We were SO grateful. Short walk into town, beautiful village and lake. Absolutely no complaints. Will come again! Thank you.

The location is nice and the apartment was clean enough but we had reserved for 3 persons/ two beds! When we arrived (late) the second bed did not have any sheets or covers!!! Not enough towels in the bathroom!!! We used the available towels to sleep on!! Next day on check out... they realized their mistake.. still we had to pay for cleaning!! It’s not about the money but about the gesture!

We were disappointed as there was no one to greet us, we were given an entry code and figured out how to let ourselves in. So, quite impersonal. Good location and clean but for this price they could make an effort to make it nicer. The rooms are very sterile (all white and no decoration). The Seehaus was a very nice place on Wolfgangsee. Great swimming, hiking, and food in the area. Magdalena was a great host and Sankt Wolfgang a charming town.

We had the BEST experience! The location was PERFECT - so close to everything. The owners were warm, kind, friendly and VERY helpful! Our apartment was great and the VIEW of the mountains/water was spectacular. I loved the attention to detail in the decor - the headboard on our bed was the EXACT same pattern/shape as the mountain view across the lake. The town was one of the HIGHLIGHTS of our entire 3 week vacation. I fell in love with everything about this place. Definitely a place I would LOVE to visit again and stay at this hotel! With the warm weather, we also enjoyed using the paddle boards and other water items and loved our own little neighborhood \"swan\" that would swim along with us! A short 2 block walk to the train and short walk to the more traveled side of town with your pick of shops and restaurants. If you want a wonderful get-a-way in a quaint hotel/apartment, you MUST STAY HERE!

Great, peaceful location with lots of activities for the family. Breakfast is not provided so had to make the short walk into town. With a family in tow, it would have been nice to eat at the hotel.

The property is within easy walking distance of St Wolfgang. The setting is beautiful, peaceful with an amazing view from the balcony. Check in and out were rather complicated as there seldom seems to be anyone at the desk. The room was spacious if a little dated.

Excellent service provided. Our host answered our questions about a late arrival, was very friendly when we arrived just before she left for the day. The room was renovated and comfortable with a great little kitchenette, the common areas were a little more rustic but very comfortable and overlooking the lake. All in all we could have spent more time it we had it. Highly recommended.

Do not stay anywhere else in St Wolfgang! Seehaus is perfectly located overlooking the lake and mountains, it is a nice 10 minute walk from the town centre. The apartments are ultramodern, equipped with the latest technology and superfast internet. Expect a friendly welcome and personal attention. Relax on the terrace or in your adjustable bed and put the price of your drinks into a piggybank in the lobby.

Ons appartement had uitzicht op het strandje en de Wolfgangsee pal voor de deur! Het strandje had genoeg ligstoelen en er waren elke dag schone badlakens beschikbaar.
Ook konden we supboarden, een waterfiets gebruiken. Of even een gewone fiets om naar Sankt Wolfgang te fietsen! Er was een heel relaxte sfeer! We hadden prachtig weer!
