Basic amenities like toothbrushes, towel were not provided and were available on chargeable basis that too above Maximum Retail Price. Staff was not welcoming and rude. The property felt cheap and left there were several places where cost cutting was done. The balcony experience was the worst as it was infront to open Sewage and balcony smelled so awful. The room was good with a nice balcony and the main lobby area had the community feel of a hostel (good thing). Breakfast had plenty of options and there's fresh juice 24/7 available in the lobby.

The room was okay. There were no cupboards to keep the luggage. You just have a very small open shelf where you can keep just your cabin bag. It’s a good place to stay if you’re on a budget and don’t stay in the room a lot. Service was really good. The cleaning team were really sweet.

They helped us in communicating with the tours, setting us up with taxi services, and gave us so many restaurant recommendations. One Chun was our favorite restaurant! If we ever come back to Phuket, we will make sure to stay at Blu Monkey again!

Trendy branding masked the somewhat shoddy condition of my room. The toilet and shower are in a cramped room, and the wash basin is in the main room itself. Bed was stiff and the towels were frayed around the edges.

Hotel looks well decorated and designed at first but the black and white paint schemes is horrible functionally. Half the room is painted black with a lack of lighting inside. There’s only about 3 pot lights in the ceiling and 2 lamps that I had to turn facing up just so it could bounce a little bit of light off the walls. I could barely see anything at night. One of my plugs wasn’t even next to my side of the bed which was irritating all week. And this is just about wall paint!
First night there the toilet clogs. We tell front desk (staff are very nice) and they said they’ll get someone to fix it. We come back end of day still clogged. Didn’t bother that night and went in the morning, a new staff asked if we flushed toilet paper. Well okay that’s news to us sure guess we’ll throw them in the garbage (gross). This time they fixed it by the time we returned in the evening. Next day toilet clogs AGAIN. Was an absolute nightmare with this toilet. I’ll leave it at that.
Breakfast was mediocre at best and also cold. Food tasted like it was made at 4am and left for 630-1030. Orange/apple juice was pure sugar.

This hotel was disappointing. I haven't traveled too much in Asia but this place is not a 4 star.... maybe four out of 10. There is no hand soap and the shower gel and shampoo smell like Bubblegum. The towels are very dingy. There's no closet or drawer space for a 3-night stay. There were four hangers...thermostat on the room had one setting ice cold. Bed was as as hard as a rock. The hotel staff acted like they understood English but when I spoke they looked at each other like they couldn't understand. Everybody was nice enough it's just not like the reviews. There was one near in the room above a pedestal sink the mirror was 12 in in diameter. The breakfast buffet was nice enough! And they offered free bananas and various drinks complimentary. Place is nested into an area where the bus terminal is. You have to walk about five blocks to get to some old town sites. The fixtures were all loose and coming off the walls. The toilet seat Didn't fit and was loose. dirt in the corners on the floor.... but I guess we're in Thailand.

It’s a newer modern boutique hotel. Each room has a smart mobile unit that you can take out with you. Free snacks, fruit and drinks are served all day. Simple but delicious breakfast. It located right by the bus station to airport big plus and nearby the Local shopping mall. The neighborhood has many delicious street food vendors.

Stayed here for one night. 10 min walk to old Town Phuket and the weekend market. Next door there is a restaurant that played loud music on Sunday night that didn't allow me to sleep. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable as well. No soap in the sink. Overall okay room but wouldn't stay here because of the noise next door. We needed to go to the pier the following morning and asked the staff if there was a bus or shuttle they said no but that was a lie. I feel like people are always trying to scam you so do your research before believing.

My second stay at this chic and design hotel, good location with walking distance to bus terminal, if you have an early flight, strongly recommended this hotel. Room is big, new and with good design. Will definitely come back next time when traveling to Phuket.

Overall this was a great stay (location wise), best for budget travellers as there's a bus terminal right beside. However the sheets were a little dirty as there were stains and what looks like blood stains too, tried to tell the reception lady that we want to change our sheets but she couldn't make up what we're trying to say.

There are two girls at the front desk that always found ways not to be accomdating. (I asked for a fork and she said they don’t have any. We used forks at breakfast. Very cosy and unique hotel. love the black and white monkey theme. essential nessesities like water and biscuits are provided for free 24hrs a day, a nice touch. rooms are clean and well maintained, though the toilet does have constant foul smell, guess it's no fault of the hotel. will be great if can get some fragrance to wash out the foul smell. other than that, highly recommended. will definitely be back.

This is the most “hip” hotel I’ve stayed in - great theme and decor, immaculate cleanliness and superb staff (the best of Thai warmth and helpfulness).
HOWEVER - this is the noisiest hotel I’ve stayed in on 30 years of world travel! The tile flooring and hard surfaces throughout the building transmit sound perfectly. Any guests coming and going can not avoid being noisy - regular conversation and foot steps are clearly transmitted the whole length of the building. The rooms have massive and heavy doors that thump closed measurable on the Richter scale - the thunderclap of a door being closed also carries the entire length of the building.
There is a karaoke bar adjacent, so a room with an even number means crank up the TV and be prepared not to sleep until the singing is done. With windows closed and A/C unit blasting in the room it’s still plenty easy to have a sing along (I was on the 5th floor).
Overall, despite being a REALLY neat place I left exhausted after 3 sleep deprived nights.

I booked this hotel purely based on Expedia reviews, and could not have been more pleased. The room was very comfortable and clean. There are restaurants and bars nearby, but the hotel was fairly quiet. The complimentary breakfast was one of the nicer I've seen for a low priced hotel.

The hotel was super nice, very kept up. We got a room with the bath outside on the balcony. The staff was pretty nice, the hotel has it's own cafe with food which we did eat at once or twice and it was really good food for the price. I would definitely come back and stay here again. One of the best parts was the breakfast every morning was always pretty tasty, the 24/7 coffee was pretty good that I already miss it, and the free waters are something I wouldn't think I was going to see in Thailand.

We stayed at Blue Monkey for only 1 night enroute to Ko Lanta. The stay was great, comfortable beds, good breakfast and good service. It was good value for money. Unfortunately, another guest had missed his room and was knocking on our door at 5.45 am. He was very apologetic though😀

Hotel is very clean, friendly staff, 24 hours free coffee, fruit juice, bottled water and crackers. Breakfast is quite good (food starts to repeat on day 3 or 4 of our stay), the banana bread is a must try!
Location-wise, it is perfect if you are going to spend more time in Phuket Old Town. But if you are planning to go to Patong area a lot you should live there, since the cheapest ride we can get to Patong is 500 Baht, and it takes 30 minutes.

Location-wise, it is perfect if you are going to spend more time in Phuket Old Town. But if you are planning to go to Patong area a lot you should live there, since the cheapest ride we can get to Patong is 500 Baht, and it takes 30 minutes.

The gentleman who ran the front desk treated us as though we inconvenienced him every time we had a question. The hotel room had needed repairs, no way to request no housekeeping, leaking bathroom sink, leaking a/c water cooler and previous tenants items left in our bathroom upon our arrival. Some of the positive and negatives to my stay.
Negatives -
1) the room is small very small and shower was a decent size but the toilet I could only just fit in.
2) no fridge in any of the rooms tho they did have bottled cold water in the lobby that you could grab at any time
3) the sheets were ripped told staff about it on check in and staff didn’t care and was told they are ok they didn’t need changing.
4) While I dont want to lump all staff in the same boat as some of the staff there are wonderful friendly people but others were just mean and nasty and did not seem to care very much.
5) Be quick to park your car and don’t move it during your stay if you get in to their car park, they advertise has having a car park and free parking but local businesses clientele use it
6) During my stay the air conditioner stopped working we returned from an outing and put the key card back as you do so the power to the room is activated but the air conditioner did not start and when reporting it we were blamed for it not working But they did get it working again fairly quickly.

The place was good overall. The only downside (and I don’t know if it was because of the dry season), the river next to the hotel is used as drain and the smell from the sewage makes it very unconfortable to be in the balcony or in the pool.

This was a favorite hotel in Thailand. The decor and ambience are quirky and cool. Nice little pool, friendly staff, good location and breakfast as well as free snacks throughout the day. Bathroom had a stinky sewer smell but we kept the door closed and it was fine. Good bargain for the price.

My friends and I checked-in a triple bedroom on the 6th floor for 5d4n.
