Mercure in Toruń was okay for a short stay, but the property definitely needs an update. Like many Accor hotels, the experience can be hit or miss—some locations feel modern and refreshed, while others, like this one, are showing their age. The basics were covered, but I expected a bit more from the brand.

Great hotel, east access to Torun town

Rooms are good, with all you will need, comfy bed and en-suite. Spacious. Staff are really accommodating and speak English, which is helpful when your Polish speaking is as bad as mine :)
Parking is easy.
Lots of choice for breakfast
Restaurant serves good food and you must try Torun cake.
Stayed for 5 nights, short walk into town, regular trams further afeild. Old town Torun is such an historic place, beautiful, plenty to see, very safe and relaxed. Lots of great food and shopping (although i was here for work)

People and standards were great, location is perfect. The rooms just lacked a little user friendliness. The tray with the kettle I had to put on the floor u see the desk as it was the only plug it would reach if I wanted to keep the tv plugged in and no plug sockets near the bedside tables. The bar closed at 10pm and the hotel generally felt like it was on a cost saving, including the room aircon.
Lovely hotel. Perfect location, wonderful team, worth the small inconveniences as great price too

This is an older property but is well maintained. The staff here are excellent, and the restaurant was outstanding. The only complaint really is that there weren't many plugs in the room. You'd have to unplug something to plug something else in. More of an inconvenience than anything else really.

Furniture and carpets are dated however it's quite clean hotel. We got a great price for 2 days stay so can't complain.
I recommend you take a short walk to the city centre for a meal instead of eating in the hotel as the food is not great.

It needs a facelift

This hotel is conveniently located but it desperately needs a facelift. It was first open in 1968 I believe. The carpet is in a desperate condition. They try by keeping everything clean but they can't cover up the age of the items in the rooms. The parking is large and it's easy to park there. The staff was friendly and nice.

The rooms and exterior are a little dated and, in our room, we had both a broken wall socket and a broken lamp - the lamp was fixed quickly when we pointed it out to the team. The amenities are OK but for a four-star hotel you might expect a little more than you get.

The aicon started heating up the roo. In the night. We oppened the window in the end and as we had to get up early anyway the noise from outside was not an issue. I was in such a rush out of the hotel i forgot to mention it at the reception. The room Number was 517. Please pass this to the management. Otherwise the stay was very good. Thabk you.

A great 4 star within 5 min walk of central Torun

We stayed for 4 nights at the Mecure Hotel and we were very pleased with it. It is definitely a 4 star as advertised with great service, comfortable rooms and an excelllent restaurant. What really stood out was that it wasn't centrally located near the Cinema City and Kopernic University while also being only a short 5 minute walk into central Torun (oldtown/stary miasto). So it has all the benefits of being in town without the noise. We will be going back.

Old town so everything within walking distance. Nice room, however the only disappointment we found was the beds were uncomfortable and the mattresses were covered with a thick plastic mattress cover which felt lumpy so unfortunately we didn't sleep well.

The hotel is okay and in the middle of bus station and old town. Need 10-15 minutes walk. The staff is not really very helpful. It may be due to their English level.
The hotel is a bit run down and need some renovation. Especially the room door, when I woke up in the morning, I found that it was opened.

A nice stay

The hotel is about 3/4 of a mile walk from the train station. One can certainly take the bus, but we walked - to and from. Our room was ready upon arrival (around 11:30), very clean and comfortable. From the hotel to the old town is about a 10 minute walk (or less). The staff was nice and had good advice as to touring and transportation.

This is a very pleasant place to stay while visiting Torun. It's easy to get to and only a 10-15 minute walk to the medieval center. The rooms are small but comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is good if it's part of your reservation. I enjoyed my time here.

Refurbished hotel in Torun

Overnight stay for my wife and I in this refurbished hotel (formerly Hotel Helios but now part of the Mercury group). Conveniently located a short walk from the old town in Torun and offers a breakfast buffet as well as a cafeteria serving meals all day. Did not spend too long in the hotel but the room was comfortable, with good, clean facilities. The problem for us was that the hotel is located close to a very busy road in Torun and getting to sleep was difficult due to the traffic and tram noise.

Why is the water yellow?

The first day I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. There was enough natural light, so didn't turn on the bathroom light.

The next morning when I turned on the sink and shower, the water was yellow. What's up with that? It didn't make me sick, but I do wonder.

We booked a Superior room but there were no Superior rooms just standard rooms with a not very large double bed. The hotel was advertised as having Hi speed WiFi internet in every room but the signal was so poor that it was unusable. We would not stay there again.

As an Accor platinum member , I was treated like royalty. Free suite upgrade , gingerbread platter to welcome me. Suite was huge and very clean. Parking is outdoors spacious and guarded. Are was safe , and a 10 min walk to downtown. Thanks mercure !

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. I had a smoking room but it was fresh with no stale tobacco smells. The location is great for pedestrian access to this beautiful city. The staff are typical Poles, helpful, friendly and quick to smile. The breakfast left nothing to be desired with an attentive waiting staff. The bed looked doubtful initially crammed as it was in a corner, but I was alone and it didn't matter to me and it turned out to be very comfortable. I 'm fortunate enough not to bother with what a stay in any hotel costs me but I have high standards and will not be dictated to by the anti-smoking brigade. The Mercure gets 5 stars from me because I'm free to have a smoke in my room without hassle. Other "5 star hotels" please note!

Sufficient hotel, too far from city center.

The rooms were clean and spacious, but there is no wifi in the room. The staff at the front desk were not very friendly. The breakfast was very good and plentiful if you are willing to pay 40 Zloty extra a night. The hotel is a bit too far from the city center--you have to cross a very busy four-lane road and then walk 5 minutes. There is a fitness center (I didn't see it). There are no shops in easy walking distance from the hotel.

this hotel is located across the road from the beautiful medieval town centre. Staff most helpful, facilities adequate for the rating. For us - good stay - problem-free. If your booking is without breakfast you will find a charge (PLN 40) rather steep for the country.

Charged me for pay-tv even though i did not use it

The old town is conveniently close, and it is very beautiful. The room was very clean and decently comfortable with a bath tub.

Three problems:
1. They charged me for pay-TV even though i was not even in my room at the time they said i had been using it
2. They advertise free internet in the lobby, but there were none
3. The price does not include breakfast, instead it is 30zloty separately (you can have a really nice dinner in Poland for that price.

The Mecure - Torun, Poland

The location (recommendations) and the price we paid was overall good value. But, the facilities compared to other hotels we had visited were poor. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and also no coffee machine available (in reception or entrance hall) to compensate for this. The bed pushed against the wall was also a little inconvenient and not what we are used to experiencing in a hotel complex.

Mercure Torun Hotel

I made a mistake when booking my hotel for Torun. Instead of booking for two nights, I only booked for one night. The Bulwar was now fully booked, and had to find something quickly. In all honesty, the Mercure was far supperior in many ways, and at a fraction of the price.
The chain provides 'all that it states on the can', as they say. Torun is a small town/city. you can pass throught the centre in a 15mins at a steady pace.
The main train station is on the outskirts of town, walkable, but with a heavy suitcase, a cheap taxi ride is worthwhile.
The hotel is situated on the outside of the town, across a main, but easily passable main road.
The hotel is clean, and ample - for the price it's great. It's not luxury, but it's warm and dry, with good bathroom facilities.
I'd happily stay there again.

Plain, crampt modern comfort.

The Mercure is a typical 2 star modern hotel within immediate walking distance of Torun's stunning Old Town. Rooms are small, but have A/C, cable TV, but beware of "double" beds, which are cramped against the wall. We requested switch to twin beds. There are several atmospheric hotels nearby which would be a wiser choice, but the Mercure isn't too bad.

Great deal over the summer

I previously stayed here and was not impressed. But recently I've revisited Torun several times and I found myself staying in the Helios again. The place is still impersonal but the staff became more friendly as they recognized me. The summer deal with breakfast included was amazingly good value. Some tips for making the most of this hotel: bring a network cable, since there is free wired Internet but not wireless. Also, learn to visit the many nice pubs in the old town, which is not far away, avoid the bar in the hotel.

Lackluster communist-era business hotel

This hotel has all the charm of a 1970's communist-era block of concrete, wrapped up with a fancy reception and grand restaurant. None of the shoe shine machines had any polish. The wifi, parking, and breakfast were extra. The staff were not rude but not friendly either. I felt transported back to the past. Perhaps best left for busloads of tourists.

The hotel is described on some websites as 4-star, which is a stretch. It is well-located and guarded parking in front is convenient if you travel by car. Rooms are clean but not very spacious. The biggest disappointment was a "double" bed - too small and uncomfortable even by a 3-star standard. I would not recommend this hotel for longer than an overnight stay.

I stayed at this hotel only overnight with friends as we were attending wedding in Torun. As you can imagine we had some ironing to do....unfortunetly there is no such a think as iron board for your own use.There was a "pressing room" on third floor with one iron and an board!!!!That was frusraiting as we were in a rush. Size of the bed wasnt right neighter:3/4 of a double?! Room was small but clean and nice....

Tarif et prestation d'un Ibis. Rien d'un Mercure sauf le nom. Parking extérieur payant, 30PLN par jour. 5 personnes, pas de chambre de 5 personnes, j'ai donc réservé 2 chambres, avec le même nom de famille dans les deux. J'ai 2 chambres sur 2 étages différents. Il a fallut se battre pour avoir au même étage.
Les chambres sont petites. La literie bonne. Pas de volets. Salle de bain ridicule avec toilettes à l'intérieur. Fuite de la chasse d'eau.
