We had previously rented an AirBnB in Giza, but after reading some things online decided to cancel and book something else and wow are we glad we did! Everyone was so wonderful and the view from the top floor - incredible! The staff were amazing, giving us advice on how to navigate the city, what to avoid and how to be safe. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay near the pyramids. The staff are so nice - the one evening we came in and told the gentleman that the lobby smelled wonderful and he told us it was the diffuser. As we went upstairs, he showed us the brand and bottle of the scent he was using. We joked about purchasing it from him, and he let us!!!! (And not an up charged ridiculous price we had to haggle). We had the best time staying here!

If you are looking for a perfect stay directly across the Sphinx and Pyramids of Giza this is a Guest House similar to a bed and breakfast with a very kind family that runs the home. Rooms have view to the pyramids right in the center we stayed in room 103 Excell view to sunrise and sunset from our room and also from the roof top.

As a solo female traveller I felt super safe as the hotel was busy and staffed 24/7 inside and outside. It was also gated from the outside so nobody could come in from the street. The rooms were large and the beds good but dated and needed a Reno. Only complaint is the water pressure in the shower. But overall the location was really good, the view as advertised and I got a safe comfortable sleep.

Outstanding breakfast that was very fresh, tasty, and had lots of variety, with excellent service. Highly recommend this property. (There is some street noise, but that is to be expected in Egypt).

The room was very small, and the bed sheets had stains. The building had no elevator, and the staircase was extremely narrow and hot, with no one available to help me carry my luggage. The key I was given could not open the main door. At night, the receptionist was asleep, and even ringing the doorbell did not wake anyone. As a result, I was locked outside past midnight for more than half an hour.

We were there for the view, and oh what a view from our window, pyramids and the Sphinx! At checkin we were welcomed as family and treated as such with every question we had. The included breakfast buffet is large and has varied options. The property is vintage and could use some spiffy-ing and the area is not as appealing as some but we knew that when booking, it’s part of the experience. Location is across the street from the Giza pyramid complex entrance and a close Uber trip to the Grand Egyptian Museum which served us well for a few days in that area.

It's important to understand that staying in a Cairo neighborhood is vastly different than staying at a Nile river resort. Giza, near the Pyramids is gritty. It's safe, but it's definitely not fancy. The hotel is wonderful. Breakfast is good. There is no elevator.

A lovely old Egyptian house feel inside this lovely guesthouse, in a well appointed position, right over looking the Sphinx and Giza Pyramids. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The night was a little noisy with the window open with packs of street dogs enjoying themselves and as it happens...building and repair works at the pyramids themselves taking place in the cool of the night - but one could shut curtains and put an air conditioner on. Perfect.

What a beautiful area to spend 8 nights! A family operated business with a welcoming air, very accommodating, kind and welcoming! Thank You to Ahmed and Mahmoud who were always there to take care of any of my needs! Used Guardian house service for a day excursion to Alexandria and thoroughly enjoyed my day. Thank You very much to Mother of Ahmed and Mahmoud (sorry I didn’t get her name) for the wonderful meal she was gracious enough to offer me one of my days there! Scenery from room and rooftop of the Giza Plateau, the Great Pyramids and Sphinx are fabulous and the hospitality that I received are unequalled! Located very conveniently across from the pyramids, so easy access to visit there. The staff even helped me get my tickets without having to wait in the long line. There is a tour company owned by the sane people who own the hotel so it was easy to get day tours added onto my stay for Cairo, Saqqara, and Memphis. The driver and guide I was provided were excellent. The area around the hotel has some shops and dining options, but a lot of loud nightly construction was going on right outside my room, so I did not sleep very well during my stay. The staff, however, were great. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and it was decent aside from no fresh coffee being available, only instant.

The hotel staffs are very nice & accommodating. The view from the roof top is excellent & the breakfast is decent. However this area is very noisy. We heard people talking/yelling in the street & lots of dogs barking all night, which made it very hard for us to sleep. Due to its proximity to the pyramids, it’s a good hotel for a 1 or 2 nights stay.

For those who are solo travelers and looking for in-person service and security, I highly recommend Guardian Guest House. Special thanks to Ratiba, Mahmoud and his brother, Mohammed the driver. Mahmoud and his brother were able to book a tour to Luxor for me last minute, and accommodate with other tours. It was a pleasure to travel with Mohammed, was so kind to treat me with felafel and beans egg wrap. We drove to a lady who was giving away free home cooked food, it’s delicious. The tour guides Guardian Guest House arranged are professionals and thoughtful.

Folks who run this property are very very nice (Ahmed and Mohammad). They will not look out for money in every request that customers make. They will not take your advantage. This is the unique point we have observed in Egypt because every other person we met on our Egypt trip has taken our advantage of being a foreigner and we had no option.

Excellent location immediately across from the Sphinx and pyramids, and seconds away from the pedestrian entrance to the pyramids. Staff were amazing and welcoming. Room was spacious and clean. Internet was good enough. Roof top offers a great view and chairs/tables to enjoy a drink or meal while staring at the pyramids. The new entrance to the pyramids for vehicles (guides/buses) is on the far side of the great pyramid and about a 10-minute drive away. Plenty of restaurants near the hotel.

Totally reliable staff, my flight was delayed, but I got picked up at 1:30 AM by hotel shuttle. Good breakfast. I was tired, waiting for my flight out, so they provided a quiet place for me to lie down for several hours. Lots of stairs, no elevator, no wifi, no mini fridge, but incredible view from terrace. Steps from pyramid/Sphinx east entrance.

This place was fantastic l, the view was unbelievable. I got there pretty late at night but they where waiting for me at the airport. So I saw the amazing pyramids when I open mu window in the morning. They wait for me ready with a bottle of water and they were really nice, always wanting to help you! Very good breakfast, helps with tours and moving you around. You can see the light show at night from their roof. It feels like home, is a family tun business so, everything were perfectly connected. Really nice, I highly recommend this place! Whatever you need they are always happy to help you!

The owner Rules with an iron thumb and we liked her hospitality and knowledge of the area. She hooked us up with guides and a car for two nights of the three we stayed there.

Although an older place, the view from our room was fantastic--face-to-face with the Sphinx! The beds were comfortable and breakfast was nice; you could even take it to the roof top terrace and enjoy the sunrise on the pyramids. We would definitely go back.

Directly in front of the Sphinx. Property is bare bones no frill accommodations. The staff was very nice and helpful and the breakfast was great. This however ends the nice things to say. Due to the Sphinx light show, area was noisy until nearly midnight. The area outside was smelly and covered in animal dung. At night there was packs of wild dogs eating trash from the local dumps. Overall unsafe area and wouldn’t dare stray outside my room past sundown. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from staying here- however please keep in mind you get what you pay for.

The hotel is located right in front of the sphinx with great roof top view. It is like a family business with mum cooking the breakfast and the son runs and manage the hotel. The only thing is that they dun have lift to get up to the reception and the rooms, but the sons are both very strong and happy to help with the luggage. The room is very clean and spacious.

The Pyramid light show can be dr groom the roof top, every room has a view of the Pramids, comfortable need and pillows, a variety for the included breakfast, nearby eating places, easy access for transportation, pleasant staff, heat and air condtioning, Windows that open. The hotel is right beside the entrance of Pyramids complex (even it is not main entrance) so very busy area. Mahmoud always helped us, pleasant stay. They offered some guided tour which we asked. Our tour guide Mohamed was very good ( his manner, reliability and knowledges about Egyptian history )

Amazing view of the Pyramids and Sphinx! Literally directly in front of them. Property is in a pretty crowded area though, for tourism and beggars. Breakfast was VERY good! No lunch if dinner though, so you have to go elsewhere, which there are locations nearby. Close ATMs. Staff was VERY nice and accommodating, they help you set up any tours and answer any questions. Ahmed and his brother are very good and nice. Not a “luxury” hotel, but very nice for what it is! Clean rooms, clean bathrooms/showers, good air conditioning.

Great Egyptian Family Hotel
It is a Egyptian family run hotel that is acceptably clean and right across the street from the Pyramids of Giza. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel with nice restaurants and a great pool, this is not your place. However, if you want to experience true Egyptian family culture in the village around the Pyramids of Giza. This is a place where you may feel you have gone back many yeats to find yourself. My wife is a “very nice hotel” kind of woman. She was initially impressed with the facilities, but by the end of our stay she was wanting to take pictures with all of the family. Great Egyptian hospitality! Great Egyptian experience!

The location is definitely great! You can’t beat the view of the pyramids. The service is superb! Best hosts ever. They were super helpful and kind from the beginning. However, that area is absolutely NOISY. So beware of that. If you are a light sleeper, prepare yourself. It is hard to relax after a long day, because of all the loud noises happening outside the window. The WiFi connection is pretty slow, and just about non existent. This is a great place to unplug and focus on your travels.
