Check in was extremely disappointing, arrived in hotel at 9.10am, and requested early check in, I offered to pay for early hours, but was still asked to wait. Check in was eventually processed at 11.15am. Waiting two hours is subpar service. I will not suggest this hotel to any friend.

I booked the hotel as a day room until a midnight flight from Delhi, inadvertently selecting single occupancy which is my hotels.com default. I immediately realized and attempted to adjust but the booking was non refundable. I asked the check in staff to allow me to pay in the difference and they were unobliging. Hotel.com agent was phenomenal attempting to negotiate with the hotel on my behalf. They were adamant and eventually I paid in the difference directly to the hotel. An hour wasted in a lobby when all I wanted was rest. The lobby was probably the best place to be because when we got to the Premium King room it was filthy, has exactly 2 bath towels, no others. No gowns or slippers as advertised.The best part was the half roll of toilet paper, of which I did not even attempt to ask for more as I was still waiting for IT to come as promised to assist with the WIFI which never worked. This is certainly not a 4* Hotel as advertised

Positives - The overall stay was amazing at this hotel. Amazing morning breakfast buffet with incredibly service provided from Bhupender and Amit. Amazing pool, spa and fitness centre facilities.

Negative - Even if your stay has been amazing the lady in black dress at the reception spoils your mood as their check in and check out service is totally unorganised and she has no idea what she is doing. First of all she made us wait for so long to figure out the check in and upon checking out was falsely charging for using 2 packs of buiscuits from the mini bar which wasn't there at the first place. They need to really be organised in their before and after room checks. Another drawback was they didn't have a first aid kit and even over the counter medicines which are readily available at every hotel. The lady at the reception said they are not allowed to give any medicines to guest due to health safety reasons but the housekeeping guy confirmed that the hotel had run out.of medicines lol another lie from the receptionist. Wifi issues are very common as you don't get internet quite often!

It’s very old hotal and they new maintain. Room and washroom very dirt and old. Never go there. They charge me 18000 Indian rupees but it’s not worth even 500 Indian rupees. Staff is very good.

There was a confirm booking of Hotel with Late check in and Airport pickup request for me as arriving Delhi from Canada, before departing and after reaching Delhi I tried more than 50 times on given number of Umrao Hotel but there was no response, no calls were received or if by chance any body receive than it was a mute call, i left many messages to call me but didn’t receive any call from Desk. I waited and searched if any person from Umrao Hotel was there to pick us but no one was there and no information, response, mail or msg from Hotel. I was stranded at the airport after 16 hour flight.
Ultimately after making all efforts, I had to book a different hotel on high price on 11th hour.
Finally I received a Call of Mr. Avinash from Hotel Umrao desk by 11.56 PM and on hearing me they have only one word of Sorry and no other explanation on why they behaved in an unprofessional way.
The experience is very bad and not as per expectation with renowned Expedia.

A hotel with lots of potential but needs a bit of renovating.We had to complain about the cleanliness of our room and once we did it was sorted .The staff is very good but the management need to step up .Good gym but full of glass windows which makes it difficult to cool down.Pool much too hot to swim in .Good breakfast.

We contacted the hotel a few days prior to our arrival, with no reply. As it turns out, we were not allowed to leave the airport without the visa for overnight stay. The restrictions came in over COVID and have not been removed. Most of the passengers on our flight from Mel to Paris with stopover were in the same position. Expedia should be infomed, the hotel should have replied. VERY poor service !

Dirty awful service and wrong address

This is an awful place. The management is incompetent , the staff unhelpful. They had the wrong address on the site and the driver arrived at the address , which was in the middle of no where. They lied and blamed the driver but I have proof thta they advertised the wrong address. Too expensive and very DIRTY

I book through Expedia clearly saying breakfast and one way free airport shuttle but at time of check in the staff says I have to pay extra for shuttle it is not included that was really disappointing I showed the staff my booking receipt it clearly says amenities included but they say no I have to pay extra really exhausted 😩

NOTE: No outside food or drinks allowed. When you are on vacation, you want to relax and have your comfort food- not an option! You have to eat what you get.
Property is nice and so is staff, but wouldnt recommend due to limitations and restrictions on what you can and cant do.

Late checkin after arriving on ba from London but quickly showed us to our room and helpfully showed us the facilities in the room. Good size room with decent Wi-Fi and desk with plug sockets (sometimes quite rare)
Lovely buffet breakfast with lots of choice, lovey fruit and fresh yogurt.

Not what it appears to be.

The Umaro is trying to be a 4.5 star hotel and failing badly. It is in need of an update and overhaul, and currently has a rather tired look and feel to the bedrooms. We stayed for two nights in Jan 2020 and started off in room 122 then moved to 228 which although bigger, was still rather tired and dirty. I reported an electrical hazard to the manager who did not act to have it repaired. There are better value hotels nearby.

The hotel is very close to the airport and therefore convenient. They also offer a pick up/drop off service to/from the airport for a 900inr charge.
The rooms were nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable.
The gym is nice and the pool is great.
The breakfast selection is a bit small and could be improved.

Great experience!

I booked for only one night to rest before continuing my trip from Idaho to Goa. The staff is incredibly friendly, the room was immaculate, and the grounds are gorgeous. I would highly recommend the Umrao to anyone staying in Delhi or just needing a place to stay for a night before catching a flight to their next destination.

It is suffice to say this hotel is no 5-star. We're it 5 star, it would never have served my husband raw chicken, causing him to suffer from food poisoning the night of our flight which resulted in the crew disallowing us to fly and leave us with no option but to stay in Delhi for an additional of 2 days! The hotel management was incompetent in accommodating our stay thereafter with a complementary stay (which is the least they could have done after landing my partner in the hospital!). Though the catering team were apologetic, I was extremely offended by the mistreatment by the hotel constantly patronising us and I quote \"Your husband should never had ordered the chicken\".

AC was not Working in the room , we called two times but still faced in entire delhi summer afternoon.
so at night , they finally shifted our room , but in that room , Lamps were not Working.and for Wifi, we need to wait for 30 min, and the IT Executive Person has told me , its time for him to leave , so you should wait at reception for wifi issue resolve.and water used to come out from bathroom after bath, poor design. . . so overall many hicups turned our stay not good.

Comfortable hotel near the airport

Echoing some previous reviews:
- The hotel is conveniently located near the airport
- There are cheaper alternatives to the hotel-provided airport service, but if convenience fits your needs best than by all means...
- Little to do nearby (you can't walk outside and begin to experience the immediate neighborhood), but great for a couple of nights near the airport, especially if you'd rather avoid the Aerocity.
- The hotel is attractive and clean
- Staff is attentive and friendly
- Quality food (even my coffee was better here than in other hotels throughout Delhi, actually)
- Some issues with my shower flooding into the bathroom, but not a big problem to me

We stayed just for few hours, and we were treating quite indifferently. We realized this property is primarily for banquets and parties. Individual guests are unimportant to them.

Room was allotted to us without preparing, toiletries, towels etc were not as per the occupancy of the room.

I was trying to book a hotel close to the airport because I had a long layover before my onward domestic flight. The hotel was very nice but wasn't as close to the airport as I would have preferred. The facility is nice. They appear to have one eating area available for breakfast and another for dinner. The breakfast area is basically the atrium of the hotel. The dinner place is pretty normal. The main thing the hotel lacks over others is a lobby bar/casual dining area.

Only stayed one night before flying home and I think hotel knows people only stay one night...bed had been made but there were hairs in bed and toenails on the floor so obviously not cleaned. Bathroom looked nice but shower didn't drain quick enough and so flooded rest of bathroom. Good selection at breakfast though.

Wonderful respite after very long flights

This hotel is very nice and very close to the airport. It is not close to anything else but being close to the airport was what we were looking for. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful and our room was very comfortable. The pool area is very relaxing and the spa onsite offered a much needed opportunity for a massage. The breakfast was included and had good variety and flavor. The Internet is a bit spotty but it wasn't vital to our stay so didn't dampen our experience. Based on some reviews we read before going we did not arrange airport transfers with the hotel. Reviewers indicated it was overpriced compared to a regular taxi. However, our taxi driver couldn't find the hotel so we had to make an international call on our cell phone to let the,give him directions. If we were to do this again, I would pay the higher fee to the hotel for their airport transfer. We used it on our trip back to the airport and were very pleased with the service and the value.

O.K. if you're rich

It's a nice property with a beautiful pool, and nice rooms, albeit small, but they fall short: They charge 1000 rupees plus tax for a ride to the Airport - probably 1,200, which would cost 350 at the most (which I paid,) as it's a few kilometers down the road! They also charge your credit card 2000 rupees before you check in, just in case you were to spend money at the hotel. Instead of holding your credit card for incidentals they charge the card, giving you the 2000 rupees in cash when you depart - if you haven't charged anything. This is literally criminal! In my case, I got the 2000 in rupees back on checkout, in cash, went to the airport and had to convert it to U.S. Dollars, since I was flying back to the U.S. which meant I lost a huge percentage. Food at the property is expensive. Breakfast is free but you have to know the routine. This is not a tourist hotel and in an area where it is impossible to walk anywhere outside the property!
