Fantastic welcome and hostess skills from Olive- she was preemptive in suggesting a dining venue and booked a table for us. Huge breakfast laid out for us as well as cooked to order, and even some home baking for us to take away! Olive was able to give invaluable insight for our travel plans, setting us off on the best route.

We loved our stay at Cullentra House. Olive is the consummate host, ensuring every detail meets her high standards. We were welcomed on the afternoon of our check-in to her well-established and beautifully-situated B&B with tea/coffee and homemade cake. The room, ensuite bathroom, and the rest of the public areas of her house were sparkling clean. On-site parking was easy and plentiful. Our bed and linens were very comfortable. Olive's breakfast was unsurpassed, with more options than a restaurant menu and served in elegant table settings. We certainly hope to return!

We had the most enjoyable 2 nights stay with Olive & James at Cullentra House.
The hospitality was exceptional, & the scenery from their warm home was breathtaking. Everything was so perfect!
The breakfast made by Olive was absolutely delicious. She also gave us scones to go everyday.
James & Olive were so informative with restaurants to go to & also they helped us in our sightseeing plans each day.

We would stay here again if we were in the area. We recommend it to everyone .

Genuine Irish hospitality

Great views from every window. Cosy and efficient traditional B and B in the Glens. Not only were we offered a pot of tea and home made cake on arrival, after a long drive, but the breakfast was the best I’ve ever encountered, including fancy hotels. The hosts worked hard to give everyone a comfortable stay. The house is in the countryside very near the cute village of Cushendall. Plenty of easy, safe parking. Very quiet.

Great award-winning B&B in a beauitful location

Cullentra House was our favorite B&B in Northern Ireland. Olive and James are the most hospitable of hosts and they work together as a great team. Their years of experience hosting guests really shows, and it is no wonder this is an award-winning B&B. The breakfast was delicious with a large selection of dishes to choose from. Besides recommending somewhere to find dinner after our evening arrival they gave us many suggestions of scenic spots to visit in the area the following day. The shared family room was very comfortable, especially after Olive brought in some of their baked treats. Finally, a great big thank you to James for sharing his walking cane with me . It was a huge help after twisting my knee earlier in the day at Giant's Causeway. If we find ourselves back in NI in the future, you can be sure we'll be staying here again.

This property was spotlessly clean with incredible views. The food was plentiful and portions generous. The decor is beautiful and well matched.

On the downside our bathroom radiator didn’t work and the shower was so slow I couldn’t wash my hair. Also I found the bedroom cold as the radiator was only on once during our 3 day stay. We had no storage for our clothes as the space was utilised by the proprietor for bed linen etc. We had to have the window blind down for privacy as the window looked out onto the drive way so we had no natural daylight in our room. We were asked to pay in full on arrival which was unusual. The hand soap dispenser was broken and we were only allocated one hand towel for two of us. Sadly we felt disappointed with our overall stay at Cullentra House and in light of all the minor issues we would choose not to return.

We were so very pleased with our two nights here. It was exactly as described. Olive graded us so warmly and we enjoyed a pot of tea and her fresh baked cake-while overlooking one of the most beautiful views. There was a smell of fresh baked bread as we arrived, which we enjoyed the next morning along with her delicious scones.

And everything was incredibly clean with fresh towels the next morning, even though I told her we didn’t need them! Keep in mind-for high maintenance travelers-these wonderful cottages don’t have HUGE rooms for massive amounts of luggage. We don’t travel like that, but I know some do. I read someone’s comment about their room being small. We had absolutely NO complaints. We completely enjoyed our conversation with Olive and her sweet husband over breakfast. And the town is absolutely delightful. Olive directed us to a place to wash our clothes which was an outside laundromat-we even enjoyed that experience!

The draw of Cullentra in Cushendall

We recently had the pleasure of spending an overnight in Cullentra in Cushendall as part of a birthday treat. Not only was the location a wonderful setting with mountains, sea and countryside surrounding us, the warmth and hospitality shown to us from our hosts Olive and James, really set the tone for our stay. Even adding special little touches like a box of chocolates for my birthday and a pot of tea with home made cake, on our late arrival. The next morning, the wide selection of breakfast choices was welcome and showcased Olive’s culinary skills (delicious). We even came away with extra wheaten bread and scones when we left.

The guest house was very clean, inviting. with an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness and laughter.
Thank you to our fantastic hosts, Olive and James, for providing a lovely experience. Happy to recommend to friends and family.
Thanks again, Lori & Ian

I was late in making it to the property and the host called me to check if i was coming, she was very nice and understanding even though i never arrived until almost midnight due to problems. She was very welcoming and the establishment is beautiful, clean, very rural and safe offering free on site parking which was a big plus for us arriving on motorbikes. Breakfast was set beautifully and the selection of quality food was substantial and would be more than adequate for anyone whether it be continental or a cooked , and a side portion of home made muffins and cakes was the icing on the cake. Lovely place, lovely people, you won't find better. Love and apologies for the late arrival from Scotland.

I tried to remain open minded as the proprietor was welcoming and initially accommodating. However I quickly realized that this is no 3.5 star B & B and am totally nonplussed by the fabulous reviews given by others. Should have guessed from the price.

Photos look substantially better than the reality. The place was clean and tidy but in truth you enter a time warp into the 1970’s and really feel your staying in someone’s basic house .
Poor shower. Grandma back bedroom vibe. View from room marred by cars parked right in front of window, hence no privacy.

Proprietor grew inpatient with the few requests I made though the husband and wife pair did a good job overall. Breakfast was plentiful and decently made though too many cakey sweets for my tastes.

Frankly I was relieved to depart to a proper hotel!

Good overall. Comfortable, everything worked as it should, and a tasty breakfast.

Couple of minor issues: when asked about the laundry facilities that are listed as one of the amenities, was told \"there are machines in the village\". That's not an amenity. Also thought it was a bit cheap of the hostess to say \"Oh, you're taking your lunch too? Those are for the table.\" when we took a couple of pieces of fruit with us after breakfast - really?

A wonderful stay, and lovely views. It felt really like a treat being here. Wonderful cake and tea served in the living room, to welcome guests. And useful photo guide to the local area. Breakfast was pkentiful and delicious. Eggs florentine, and home baked fresh bread. Genuinely could not want more

Nice to stay in a quite B&B out of town and away from the noise of the road. The hostess Olive contacted us ahead of time and helped us make a reservation for a restaurant in town for dinner. Her breakfast and tea were excellent too. Would stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Cullentra house for three nights, which was helped by the lovely weather. Olive was very welcoming and helpful with suggesting where to eat out and with what to see and do locally. The breakfasts are some of the best we've ever had, with a huge selection on offer and each one with extra treats that you weren't expecting. Having eaten the breakfast, there was certainly no need for lunch. If we are in the area again, we would definitely want the same accommodation.

Cullentra House was a purpose-built BnB with a lovely hostess (Olive) and a standard of excellence above and beyond many others. Everything was perfect; the view, the room, the breakfast, the service... there was nothing out of place! We greatly enjoyed our stay and the value for the money was also outstanding. Thank you Olive!

The breakfast was amazing. The property was very very well maintained inside and out. The hosts Olive and James were very friendly, helpful and very attentive to our needs. Even booking us into a busy restaurant in town that was hard to get a seat at. Parking was a little tight but manageable if you were careful. The only thing is to maybe check the shower pressure in Unit #3, we turned on the power but still found it not up to par with everything else at the property. Otherwise a perfect getaway location and experience and excellent value. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at any b&b.

This was an excellent place to stay. The view from my window overlooking the water and mountains was spectacular. Our host was lovely and very accommodating in every way - from making our dinner reservations to cooking a fabulous Irish breakfast. She even gave us a goody bag of her delicious scones to take with us! We will definitely stay here again if we are blessed enough to get back to beautiful Northern Ireland.
