This was our second extended stay at The Gaya in Taitung, while visiting family. it felt 'tired' this time. Carpets in hallway a bit dirty, although I understand wheeling luggage along them won't help. Since our last visit, Taiwan has implemented no single use items in the room. And I do support this. On the other hand, the tea/coffee station was very sparse... 2 coffee bags, 2 tea bags. No sugar, no milk/creamer, no spoons. Maybe I could have requested that, but it was not a welcoming experience in my opinion. The front desk staff are nice but the language is a barrier as they didn't understand much English. I will say the bedding and duvet, and beds and pillows are wonderful! So comfortable. The floors have a nice quiet vibe and we didn't hear noise from any other rooms, so that is a huge plus. And finally.... as a few have pointed out in the reviews.... why on earth is the pool closed at the nicest part of the day when it would be nice to sit and read and swim?. It's closed from 11am to 3.30pm give or take 30 mins with winter/summer hours. It left us very frustrated after a morning out in the sun and heat. We did check out the Sheraton while we were there and may consider that next time, but overall I do recommend this hotel.

Located at the city centre. Walking across is the Taitung Railway Art Village and the Fantasy Tiehua. A short walk from the hotel is the Taitung night market. Lots of food choices and shopping. A great spot for an excellent stay. Oh, breakfast was great too!

The Gaya was a gorgeous hotel, from the lobby to our room. Very helpful and friendly concierge. Amazing view from the rooftop. Conveniently located for a morning stroll at Liyushan or to the Railway Art Village. Super comfortable bed and bedding, and overall a great place to spend time.

Stayed 2 nights at this property. Shower head broke and almost hit my foot. Not enough towel provided - there was not even a hand towel available, just a bath and a small towel. Only one treadmill at the gym which was broken. You can tell the hotel had no intention of fixing it as it had already gathered a layer of dust. For Taiwanese standard, the food at breakfast was bad. Service overall was mediocre. Given the room rate, it is honestly substandard. Not worth the money paid for. Extremely disappointed!

New posh business hotel with little luxuries
Posh looking hotel at a good price, with all the usual luxuries thrown in. Toiletries are L'occitane! Staff are very well trained and polite, and even gave us some pointers on local places to eat. The rooftop swimming pool has an excellent view and looks like a small infinity pool. Breakfast spread is also excellent. There is free shuttle to the train station and the hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the bus station. This new hotel is clearly trying very hard and I would highly recommend it.

The hotel also offer some drinks and biscuits from 9 to 10pm. Awesome! The check-in was fast and welcoming. The receptionist personally accompanied the guest to their room and introduced the hotel's design concept along the way. The deluxe double room that we stayed in was comfortable and functional. The hotel is near to a couple of mini attraction such as Liyushan Park at the back of the hotel and Railway Art Village. Both attractions can be covered in less than one hour each. The hotel also provide 2 hours free bus tour to several nearby local attractions. Overall, it's a comfortable stay for our stopover en-route to Kaoshiung.

我跟先生今年選擇來花東慶祝12週年紀念，飯店特別幫我們布置房間並準備神秘小禮物還附上一張卡片，讓我們一進門就有驚喜。飯店房間的格局也是一大亮點！最喜歡的是行李置物檯同時兼做衣架功能，並貼了三面鏡子，方便各種角度的照映！兩側床頭旁也各有一面梳妝鏡，很符合我們睡覺時不要照到鏡子的小介意！只是床頭桌是圓形的，化妝用品因為無法靠牆所以很容易從縫隙掉落。飯店人員態度也值得肯定！從我們CHECK IN的時候就以熱情友善的態度招呼我們，特別是我們向櫃台同仁詢問台東夜市跟鐵花村怎麼走，飯店人員特別帶我們到門口解說，完全感受到台東的友善與好客！早餐的部分，現做的牛肉麵非常好吃！不過...要是有現點現做的歐姆蛋就更完美了^^\"

Terrible experience, but hotel itself is nice
I’ve stayed 4D3N in this gorgeous hotel, the location was excellent, facility was alright. The only problem was they stole things in your room but they claimed the housekeeping “unknown behavior”. Well, not valuable item was stolen but it felt terrible when you found things missing when back in such 4 or 5 stars hotel in Taitung-Taiwan. And the staff respond awfully without any training just like a part-time hotelier. Can’t blame too much as this is a province side of Taiwan. My advice, keep eye on your items. My missing item was a LAB facial wash, and have no idea why they took my LAB for? The issue was when I found out was 11pm and all shops were closed. Truly, it is a fine hotel after all, don’t get ruined by employee, or the hotel manager, oh, they don’t have any manager who can explain on this ! Ridiculous experience in my travel life.

(雅緻雙人房/房號0910)入住過程非常快速,還提前一個小時拿到房間.地點方便.樓下就有全家便利商店.隔壁是鐵花村.走去夜市也只需五分鐘路程.行前有詢問想要慶生的一些事宜.非常貼心的提供了一個四吋蛋糕及卡片.頂樓的無邊際泳池也很棒.最讓人驚豔的是床太好睡了!隔天退房還忍不住詢問了是甚麼品牌(笑)來到台東旅遊真的很推薦住宿GAYA!
如果真的有甚麼想要加強的話...就是淋浴的水流力道稍嫌不夠給力.男友覺得滿OK了.但女孩子在洗頭的感覺感覺是稍弱一點,其它都非常棒啊!
