I booked a hotel because had a good reviews and rated five star. Room was not in good condition, floor was broken and dirty. I took pictures as well and more than happy to share with management or on the website. Few things were great though such as location, hotel lobby and courteous staff.

Very disappointed with the customer service at The Lalit Mumbai. Multiple calls and emails to the meeting room booking team went unanswered. During my stay, housekeeping had to be chased repeatedly. I was also ignored when requesting a coffee in the lobby until I complained to the Lobby Manager, who was helpful and resolved the issue. He promised a management follow-up, which never happened.Extremely poor service for a so-called five-star hotel.

I recently stayed at the Lalit in Mumbai expecting a premium 5-star experience, but what I encountered was genuinely shocking. I’ve had better experiences in budget hotels — this stay was disappointing on every level.

1) Dry Cleaning Disaster.

I gave a white Jacket of Columbia company from the name of the company you can imagine how heavy on the pocket it usually is, So I gave the jacket/sweater for dry cleaning, and it was returned with dark/black patches and stains that were definitely not there before. Instead of accepting responsibility, the hotel staff had no proper explanation or solution. It’s completely unacceptable from a hotel that claim to be “luxury”

2) Item Stolen from Room.

To make matter worse my sunglasses and perfume went missing from my room. These were kept among my personal belongings and I am 100% sure that they were there before housekeeping visit. This raises serious concern about the hotel’s security and professionalism.

3) Inhuman check out experience.

Just to put a cherry on top. We kindly requested an additional 15 minutes for checkout because my mother was unwell with stomach upset and loose motions. Despite informing the front desk, the staff kept calling repeatedly and even sent staff members to collect luggage from the room— essentially forcing us out.
The lack of empathy and hospitality in so called 5 star hotel was shocking.

This property was very old and there was a cockroach in our bathroom. The vicinity while near the airport was a slum area. The staff were pleasant enough but Arjun from housekeeping was especially helpful in packing and shipping to me in Delhi some items that were left behind after checkout. Overall not entirely unpleasant however I would not stay at this LaLit in the future.

Pratik went out of his way to ensure that I explored Mumbai’s best routes and attractions. Rohit was so welcoming. I will visit and stay with The Lalit again.

We used to stay at the LaLit (Mumbai) regularly before COVID. Always booked the Club Room. We were really looking forward to staying here this time but a little disappointed with the food choice and drinks choice in the lounge (very limited choice of snacks, no salad, no fruit platter and no desert.

The hotel itself is ideally located for the airport and for other transport modes. The lobby is grand and beautiful, check in process smooth. We had to change rooms due to a couple of issues, this was a smooth process.

The hotel as lovely as it is, some areas the wear and tear is quite visible, much that could be remedied with a spot of maintenance.

Staff lovely and welcoming, food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Enjoyed the variety at breakfast.
The hotel were really helpful for us as my husband unfortunately feel ill during our stay. They were quick to arrange for a doctor and arranged everything to make us comfortable.

Overall a very nice hotel! But at the highest level it lacks certain finer things.
One weird thing is its location of its two elevators. Given the expanse / layout of the structure there should have elevators on both ends. It is almost a long rectangular building. So if your room happens to be on the far end it can be a walk particularly for elderly or someone with a disability! That’s one downside of this otherwise beautiful property

The check in was excellent, quick and easy.
The breakfast was not equipped for vegans or dairy free options. Very little vegetarian options and only spicy hot food.
Difficult to get soya milk when I asked the staff. Asked 4 different waiters and 3 never came back to me. One went out of his way to get me sorted with soya milk. The waiters should know where to locate this for coffee and it should be available near to the cereals.
The music in the restaurant was too loud and tedious, not relaxing.

Property location is excellent but a safe path to be able to walk to the airport should be installed so you can walk to airport to be able to get exercise prior to boarding long haul flights.

Hotel in general is excellent but needs a total overhaul of its breakfast buffet to accommodate food allergies.

At this price, the room has hardly any amenities, the shower room gets clogged, and to access the in-room dining menu, one has to call reception to learn that we need to go to a specific channel on TV (not default), then scan QR code to access it, how convenient is that for a guest? I have stayed on this property at least 4 times in the last 7 years, and the level of service (be it as breakfast or someone handling your luaggage) is going down

A flying 3 night visit here for a birthday, resulted in a stay at the conveniently located LiLat Hotel, right near to the airport. An early arriving flight was met by a pre-arranged LiLat car, on time and efficient when we were delayed through the long immigration queues. Into reception with an early check in request, but a wait was necessary. The hotel was fully booked overnight with conferences and weddings, a common but understandable theme here. They informed us we could wait by having breakfast, moving the last days breakfast to now, useful and helpful but when we arrived at the restaurant, confusion occurred which made things awkward. Breakfast was nice and plentiful however with friendly staff. Check in was allowed around 11am, and up to our club room on the 6th floor. Spacious. Spotlessly clean. Free water and a basic pay minibar. Bed was comfy. The club lounge was not serving drinks, so evening drinks and tasty snacks were provided between 6.30pm and 8pm in the main hotel bar. Fantastic service here, and lots of choice. Best lounge bar benefits we have experienced. The Indian restaurant is high end, amazing food and service and not too expensive. Well worth a visit. The handy pool area just off the main 24/7 restaurant is appealing, free sun beds and towels. A bit chaotic on our visit with wedding guests. This hotel is secure, clean, friendly and popular with commercial events. We would visit again but only for a short stay. BeLu 28-31JAN24.

We had a very late flight so got to the hotel at around 2am. There was no queue so we thought it would be a quick check-in process, but it took a long time only to find out that we had been allocated the farthest room despite 2 of our group being over 70. The room was not correctly set-up so we had to wait until this was done which took another 30 minutes. We slept closer to 3:30/4am which led to a missed breakfast the next morning. The staff did accommodate us with some toast and basic breakfast, but this could have been avoided if the correct room was allocated the night before.

The shower drain was also not functioning properly so we ended up having a pool of water to deal with after every shower. The staff took care of this once we reported it but this should not happen if regular maintenance is being done.

Overall, our expectation was much higher for a 5 star hotel.

Massively gone down hill! Average at best

Unfortunately.. this hotel has gone down massively. The staff don’t seem to be bother, with a lack lustre attitude. Very relaxed, without not being bother that customers have paid good money to stay at the hotel.
We checked in, told the lounge access is between 6pm-8pm on the 6th. We arrived at 6pm, with a staff member half asleep on the desk, we were told that lounge had been moved to the bar. We queried this at reception who had no idea on this. Finally after a few phone calls later. It was agreed that it was at the bar. When arriving at the bar, they only had limited food & drink. Each drink order took, 20mins to be served. Not sure if this was a tactic?
Breakfast was just as bad, service slow & very relaxed attitude. I’ve never been to a hotel, where fried eggs are not available.
It’s a real shame, beautiful hotel, good location. Poor staff & management. Everything slow, too much trouble

Bathroom had no hot water, so had a cold shower. Then when I came out the whole floor was flooded with water, which I didn’t see at first so slipped and fell hitting my head and elbow. Told the duty manager who moved me to another room on the same floor (4th floor) and tested the shower, which also leaked water. I was then left in the room for at least 1hr before getting fed up and going down to the lobby with all my luggage. Was left there for another 30mins before being moved to a residency apartment, which is not what I booked!

The property is great and the staff is very courteous and welcoming. A bit old property but we’ll maintained. Quick room service and clean rooms.

I had only one issue, that the hot water in bathrooms, it was not hot at all, I wanted to take a good hot water bath but just got moderately cold water. I think this is something the management needs to take a look at.

The breakfast was excellent and overall a great stay.

The rooms are very tired looking and not what I expected from a hotel in this class. The bathroom particularly looked old and dull. They didn’t respond to any calls for concierge, reception. The staff were miserable and lacked people skills. At reception and in the restaurants. The towels and sheets looked dull and worn. Not a friendly hotel at all. The spa room was very cold and ruined the experience, very disappointing and I will not be returning.

Conveniently located near Mumbai international airport. Efficient car pick up service at the airport. Property is old and needs to be renovated. Everything that we asked for was very delayed. There were multiple parties of drunk people staying in rooms above or next to us. Even though our room was moved after the noise and screaming got so bad, our new room had very rowdy folks too who were drunkenly partying until 2am. We were only in the country after 6 years and a 24 hour long travel journey. It was horrible to stay in the hotel after all this. My parents and brother stayed here too in 2 other rooms and after this experience we will never stay at the lalit again.

The restaurant dining was very poor quality the service was very poor. We requested for tea for room which was forgotten about. Our baggage didn't arrive in our rooms promptly. There was no free airport drop off considering we booked 2 rooms and had an early check out. Overall we were not at all satisfied with the service or hospitality. The Hotel needs to emphasise on their staff training, hospitality and customer service. Other hotels in the area provide a much better service at the same rate. This was our first ever stay with Lalit and i am not sure about future stays

A comfortable stay

Stayed for one night, while on a short trip to Mumbai. The check in and check out were smooth. Lots of airline staff staying there, so it took about 15-20 mins to check-out, but that wasn't a concern. The Front Desk staff were polite, friendly and professional. The hotel is brilliantly located, next to the airport T2 international terminal. It's well maintained. The rooms are large and well appointed. I loved the soft pillows.... The woodworks are beginning to show their age, which I hope the hotel will be looking into. Didn't try out their coffee shop or other restaurants, as was tired after a long drive and work within the city, so cannot comment on those. Overall a nice experience.

I cant judge this too much as we were in the middle of coronavirus. However staff were indifferent i didnt sleep as there was a generator outside my room the first night and at 3.45am i phoned the duty Manager. Who offered to change my room then i said no so changed in the morning. However found majority of stadd very indifferent
