A True Slice of Paradise

From the moment you step onto the island, you know you’ve arrived in true paradise. I’ve traveled to many countries and stayed at various hotels and resorts, but I can confidently say this experience sets a new standard — offering a level of luxury and uniqueness that’s truly unforgettable.

We were warmly welcomed by our personal concierge, Poula, who went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty. He and his team arranged a stunning private dinner setup and helped us book an incredible professional photographer. We ended up purchasing two albums because we simply couldn’t choose from all the amazing photos.

This place gave us the perfect balance of peace and adventure. We originally came to celebrate our anniversary but were gifted a once-in-a-lifetime experience we will never forget. I’ll definitely miss this place and can’t wait to return with my family.

Fabulous island with wonderful reef and lovely friendly and efficient staff who went out of their way to be helpful. Food was excellent as were facilities. Plentiful water (still and sparkling filtered) in the room at all times, replenished multiple times a day. Nice toiletries. We didn't do many activities but greatly enjoyed the beginners dawn yoga class.

Overwater bungalow was beautiful and possible to see fish, sharks and rays from your room.

I'd have like to have seen a little more action on sustainability (ensuring appropriate behaviour over reefs, reefsafe sunscreen etc, and also introducing - or acting on - optional daily towel and sheet changes (ours were changed multiple times a day, despite us hanging up towels).
I understand that The Standard is starting a cooperation with a conservationist to improve information about the coral etc which would be great.

It is worth noting that, in line with the branding of the hotel, there is very often quite loud music in the pool / bar area.

Where to even begin? From the moment we arrived, we were completely mesmerized. The island is breathtaking and the hotel is more beautiful in real life. It felt like stepping into paradise. The crystal-clear waters, the soft sandy beaches, and the marine life made us feel like we were living in an aquarium.

But what truly sets the hotel apart is not just its beauty—it’s the people. The warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality of the staff made our stay beyond special.

A heartfelt thank you to Poula, our extraordinary host, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. His attention to detail and constant care made all the difference. We also want to send a big thank you to Lama and the amazing team at the Kids Club for creating unforgettable memories for our children. They loved every moment and the fun activities!

Dining at Kula every day was another highlight of our trip. The variety, the quality, and most of all, the service exceeded expectations. A special thank you to Bhavin, Shokhawat, Humair, Ansari, Anupam, Anpum, Sager, and Nagendra (and all the others that I forgot to ask for their names, I'm so sorry but I guess you know who you are) for your warm smiles and outstanding service—you truly made every meal an experience to remember.

One thing is clear: the hotel takes exceptional care of its team, and in turn, they take extraordinary care of their guests. Their happiness and dedication shine through in everything they do. We cannot wait to return.

very pretty property, but it was VERY family friendly. children everywhere. the food program was inconsistent and confusing. My friends were offered various discounts and i wasn't. the buffet was nice but nothing special. I expected it to be much more quality than it was. drinks were fine, nothing special. service was very very friendly and warm, but slow. dinner at BBQ Shack was a disaster. Waiter spilled a drink on my friend and we had to clean her and the table up then ask for new napkins. never came to check on us after food was delivered. I had wanted to ask for sauce and never got a chance to. just a very adequate stay. expected more

I stayed with my family for 7 days in August 2024 at the standard hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by hotel staff who were friendly and attentive. The seaplane process was organized and fast. I didn't have to wait in the lounge. My arrival at the hotel was before the assigned check-in time and my room was ready, which was appreciated. The room is spacious and has everything you need to rest. In my opinion it was not a room for a 5 star hotel. Now, the only major complaint I have about the room was the pool in villa 58. The pool in the villa was in poor condition. My family did not use this pool. The main pool was used.

Restaurant staff They are more attentive than others but in general they offer good service. The person assigned to clean our room did not fail with the cleanliness. I have been Maldives on two occasions and this hotel in the aspect of theFood was superior to the others and it's good that it was like that because the price of the food compared to the hotels was higher. The main attraction of this hotel was the beach. The hotel has bicycles for free use.
At checkout the Host only said thank you. I don't ask anything else about how was our stay . I add that at the time of arrival in Malé there was no representation from the hotel.
The competition and variety of hotels in the Maldives is strong. In mi case We look excellent service and to enjoy first-class facilities, something that I did not find this time.

The only complaint I have is that literally 5 minutes of arriving were asked for a $1000 dollars for the sea plane. Totally understand that we had to pay this but the delivery could have been better

Beautiful over water bangalo pool with privacy room. We can see different kind of fish from our room. Beautiful hotel. All employees did a great job for us to feel special. 45 minutes from seaplane cost you around $518 per person. We did all inclusive in May and not a lot of restaurants open everyday. Other why everything great.

The Standard Maldives was excellent. The service and staff were great. The value of the trip relative to other Maldivian resorts was as good as it gets, especially if you get the all inclusive plan. That being said, not everything (drinks and food-wise) is included in the all inclusive plan and it can feel a bit nickel and dimey at times. They seem to be in process of upgrading things and making things better in general with new hires and refreshes, so there do seem to be kinks they are working out. The house reef is the best snorkeling we’ve ever done and the activities that they have with the dive shop are all well worth taking advantage of and well organized.

The Standard is nothing short of magical. In addition to the beautiful surrounds, our stay was made all the more memorable by the exemplary service from the moment we landed till the time we bid farewell.

An added benefit of staying at The Standard is its dedicated airport lounge and proximity to Malé which meant that we were the one of the first passengers off the seaplane that was also carrying guests staying at other properties.

There are lots of activites to create wonderful holiday memories ranging from a variety of water sports, excursions, and amazing culinary offerings with breathtaking ocean views. Highlights of our stay include sunset yoga on Baby Island and snorkelling with the wonderful team from Carpe Diem.

The amazing staff was a major contributor to our incredible stay. Special thanks to:

Shamaau - our extraordinary host for the best recommendations and making us feel at home everyday. He's truly a man of many talents! ;
Shasha - Outlet Manager who made sure we were looked after at every restaurant;

Great experience and once in a life time kind of experience! Wonderful staff and excellent service. Plenty of great activities and experiences such as snorkelling, Tennis, pool, dolphin excusion, movie night, specialist restaurants especially loved Guduguda, great buffet options at the Kula. Special thanks to the sous chef Prasanna who was very accomodating and made special vegetarian dishes on request. Also thanks to the Toddy's bar staff Nelson, Charan and others for serving delicious cocktails and the room mini bar assistant Sai!
Loved the sunsets, the out of the world visuals and overall experience. Thanks to my host Shamaau and Naseef for helping throughout.

The Standard Maldives was nothing but amazing. From the pick up at the airport, the lounge in the sea plane terminal, the swift check in, buggyservice to the villa, personal island host, greate villa in great condition, cool interieur, a lot of design detailes all over the resort, a lot of activities for the kids (like the floating inflated waterpark by the beach, table tennis, beach volleyball, tennis court, billiard etc.), really good food with several resturants to choose from, several bars with great drinks, but the best of all was two things:
The pictures perfect island and the outstanding service from the hotel staff. I will in perticular mention Bavan and food and beverage mananger Chowdhoory, who gave us personal service in world class. This hotel is playing in the champions league of hotels. We will be back.

The location and surrounds of the property could not be more beautiful. The icing on the cake was the staff though. The resort is stunning, looks almost unreal. Everywhere in the island is picture perfect.

From the moment of our arrival in the airport, seaplane transfer to our island arrival, everything was seamless. We were greeted by staff upon our arrival at the resort. Youssef, our excellent coordinator, gave us a nice overview of the island and resort and gave exceptional service throughout our stay at The Standard

The staff was professional, organized and hardworking. They treated the guests like family and went out of their way to make sure guests are having a good time.

The resort is very clean, food is excellent and healthy. Walkways to go to the over the water villa is very picturesque and beautiful. One can easily see several marine life (manta ray, baby sharks, different kind of fishes) as you walk in these walkways

Our two bedroom over the water villa was like a dream come true; beautiful, large, modern and a patio with a pool to die for. Water is clear turquoise, with plenty of marine life just below our villa.

Don’t hesitate to book this resort. It’s a paradise.

What an amazing place!!! We were literally blown away with the friendly and hospitable staff and the beautiful surroundings of the island. From the snorkeling equipment to the his&hers beach bags provided in the room, to the available bicycles for public use - every single detail was catered for. Do not miss the lobster at BBQ Shak.

We unfortunately had a minor medical issue and they doctors on site treated it very quickly and efficiently

A wonderful place to stay in the Maldives

This is the second time we have been to The Standard Maldives and in the three years since we last been, it has improved in every respect and it was very good to begin with.
The cleanliness of the beautiful room and everywhere in the hotel was great. The addition of the bikes to get around was fun.
Good variety of activities including free kayaking, snorkeling and yoga.
We recommend not going for the all inclusive as the culinary highlights were the amazing sushi restaurant, the fantastic BBQ on the beach and the exotic Maldivian restaurant.
A nice touch was the chef speaking with the guests.
The welcoming and friendliness of the staff was genuine and faultless. A shout out for Shakhawat, he went above and beyond helping us and eve sorting out our wine pairing with the food.
Highly recommended and we will be back as soon as we can.

Pre-arrival experience was horrible, to the point where I was going to cancel my reservation. I contacted the hotel over 10 times via Expedia, website, email, WhatsApp, and Instagram to receive confirmation for my seaplane transfer and I didn’t receive a response until the 3rd Instagram message where their social media team had the hotel contact me. It’s very concerning that a luxury hotel would have such poor communication prior to arrival. That said, once I got in the island, the customer service was generally good. Some staff members were a little pushy on the services that charged additional fees which was a bit irritating but it didn’t ruin the trip. The property is stunning—it’s straight out of a postcard. There’s tons of activities (both free and with charge). They also do a fantastic job at keeping the hotel free of unwanted critters. You’d think in a beach with a jungle in the center that they’d have more rodents but nary one was seen. The water in the bathroom ran yellow/brown twice but the staff were very quick to fix it. Flaws and all, I would recommend this hotel.

Where to begin? The most perfect first Maldives vacation all thanks to The Standard Maldives. You get greeded by a Standard employee at the airport that explains the entire transfer process to the resort. Upon arrival you get an employee assinged to you for the entire stay that is available via phone/text at any time. The property it's self it's gorgeous, very well upkept. The food selection is great, the buffet has breakfast, lunch and dinner offers plenty of options even if you decide not to dine at the chargable restaurants (for all inclusive). What made this experience so phenomenal is the entire staff. There wasnt a single person that wasnt friendly, helpful and accompating. Special shout out to the kids club employees Daria, Sofia and Nuzu. Our son was kept enternatined the entire time and actually cried when we had to leave. That to us was the biggest compliment to this resort. Shout out to Lee, who is the pool waiter. He made our stay absolutely great by making sure we were not left thirsty. Everything at this resort is so planned out that you are always well taken care of. The island is perfect and small and the scenery is breath taking. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this resort. If you want a great experience, book The Standard Resort!

The Standard is a beautiful resort. There is a bit of an identity crisis in terms of marketing. It's not the all-night ravey Ibiza-style resort they promote. It's a little quieter and more laid back. There are lots of families, but there is plenty of room for everyone and if you want a quiet and secluded time, you can have it. The personal concierge is a great touch and there are many activities for all levels of engagement. I highly recommend the All-Inclusive option as there are many perks and discounts that you can take advantage of. If you're going for only a few to 5 days, I recommend arranging your dinner reservations before you get there. Guduguda and the BBQ Shack fill quickly. When you're there, please slow down. Everything is on island time and so is the service. Everyone is very friendly and pleasant but it seems there is a 5-7 month turnover for staff, so they are constantly re-training. It's not a problem, just that different staff know different things. Also, if you're watching the YouTube videos on the place, keep in mind those people are probably getting some kind of compensation. You can't just fly drones everywhere. There are no longer speakers in each room The snorkel equipment in the room isn't the best, but those issues are of very little consequence when you're in paradise. The Standard is amazing. We rarely return to a place, but we are already making plans to return. You'll love it!

The Sub Standard would be a more fitting name

This was probably the worst \"5 Star\" experiences I have ever had.
The moment we landed, we got sent to the seaplane, which got cancelled 2 hours later - we were told it was weather. Given that other seaplanes were taking off consistently, I doubt this is true. We then had to sort our own room out in Male and go the next day - ultimately losing us one nights stay, which was the most expensive night I paid for. The hotel said it was not their responsibility - then again, it is not mine either. We got compensated $230 for the extra night I paid for in Male - that after arguing.
Service on the whole is absolutely shocking here. In the Todis bar, no one even asks you if you want a drink, even though they have so many staff - you have to go to the bar yourself to get a drink. \"Managers\" just seem to sit on tables doing nothing. We ordered room service and the food came 90 minutes later, stone cold. Sent it back. Food in the buffet restaurant is underwhelming and desserts are always warm and melted, when they should be cold.
They knew the seaplane back to Male was at 10.30am, they moved us out of our villa at 9am and sat us in reception for over an hour. The \"manager\" upon checkout just argued with us and wasn't hospitable at all. To be honest, I don't know what their problem is, but overall, it is was awful and I would say just go to a proper 5 star resort. They really need to sort their service standard out. Would never go again, not recommend, stay away.

Beautiful setting (as with every island in the Maldives that we've been to).
Somewhat disappointed as, although we had an excellent break, it was actually quite 'standard!'
Feels like a missed opportunity - the resort has a mass-market feel in the lounge / bar / restaurant areas. From the branding, we were expecting something far more hip and trendy. The areas are sparse with regard to furniture and doesn't have a laid-back lounge feel which would be easy to creat with different types and more furniture, different lighting, plants etc etc. Service was good and food of a reasonable quality. Choice in the (pay for) bars and restaurants was lacking - for example Todis / Joos doesn't have any grilled fish or similar on the menu - surely an obvious 'miss' on a Maldivian island!? Whilst we nejoyed ourselves, we will try somewhere else next time....

A umbrella for the pool area would be the cherry on top of the cake. The sun is extremely strong. Myself and my husby got first degree burns. Also, take SUNBLOCK. Is it crucial. Amazing vacation.

We spent 6 days at the Standard late in Feb 2022. Family friendy hotel with a lot of kids activities. My kids loved the scuba diving intro course. Within an hour, my 8 and 10 years old were able to complete their first dive. We enjoyed the excursions, specially the sunset fishing. Staff very friendly and helped us fish for the first time.
The resort is relatively small in size, so it is quiet even at peak lunch and dinner time. You may or may not like how quiet it is.
My only comment is that the buffet is good for adults, but not a lot of kids options for food, although the staff will accomodate and you can always order a la carte from kids menu.

Heaven on Earth

Overall was really amazing, the only thing that was frustrating was the transformation to/from the resort, upon arrival 4 hours waiting for the seaplane. and upon departure 7 hours waiting at the international airport. the resort did not arrange a lounge area ever if its for money, the lounges were full.
So BE VERY SURE ABOUT YOUR SEAPLANE TIMING, especially if you have kids.

the resort has so many activities for kids, just be assured to take snacks with you between meals, kids get really hungry.

the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are all delicious and many varieties.

the room was really spacious and cleaning was done twice a day. we were 2 adults and 2 children and fits perfectly.
the privacy is the best i’ve stayed in.
room service is very fast, but the room dining is a bit slow.
At breakfast the should have self-service coffee and tea, staff are really busy collecting dishes!

The property price listing is confusing. You think you have got full board all inclusive and when you get there you find out that you have not. Also transfer from airport is not included in the price.
Breakfast was excellent. Lunch and dinners were poor quality. For Maldives standard it was unacceptable. I would not try this place again.
Last year I had a great experience at Constance.

As a First time coming to the Maldives .. This Resort has Met all my expectations that I had in mind about coming to the Maldives .. the Resort Staff were very and kind and helpful and welcomed us when we arrived

The over Water Villa experience was amazing
Also the Resort had a wide range of water sport activities which we enjoyed very much

Nothing more to say but outstanding experience

Just one Con which wasn’t a big deal at all was the food … the food was good and all but wasn’t perfect … but we are very picky eaters so it’s really rare when we are pleased with food

This was our first trip after 18 months. I and my wife were looking up to this 5 days at Maldives. Initially we were both sceptical about everything. However the moment we landed in the standard resort our doubts turned into curiosity to explore more. It’s a small island surrounded by green lagoon water with 100 odd water and beach villas. Water is crystal clear and gives the exact appearance that we see in pictures. During our stay Weather was rough at times, hence we were lucky to experience cooler breeze all the time. The view from our water villa was breathtaking. We did not miss a chance to wet out foot with the sea water. Coming to cuisine, it was good all throughout. We were feeling full all the time. Special mention to the breads and cakes, they were fabulous. The staffs were really courteous and helpful. Wish we would have spent some more days 😊

All inclusive is a misleading terminology as this hotel is NOT all inclusive. Despite the property being beautiful, fun and modern, the all inclusive package that we purchased turned out not to be all inclusive as one would expect. Room service is not part of the package, you can only eat at specific hours with the included food, otherwise you are required to pay, even if you get an allowance at the other two restaurants, considering the pricing of the foods and beverages, you end up paying, only a few selected beverages are included, and it turns out that if for any reason you want to come for a second seating during the included buffet hours, you have to pay.

We are not happy we paid thousands of dollars to be on a package that is not all inclusive and we had to pay even more while we were there. Would have been a lot more practical, not to mention cheaper, to just book the room and pay for the food as we went along.

Aside from the huge disappointment of the misleading all inclusive, the hotel is very beautiful, the staff are generally nice and the food quality is excellent. Would recommend this property but have a careful read at what you are getting into with the package you buy.

This is a gorgeous place. I can’t say enough good things about it. The staff there are awesome people. The overwater villas are just great with the private pools. There are different food options. Plenty of water activities.

A beautiful escape

After no travel for so long, this was a perfect escape. The view from the lagoon villa was amazing, with all the shades of blue on your doorstep. Swimming on this side is great. We did not see as many fish as hoped snorkelling outside the room but the water was crystal clear, and the sand soft and white. The hotel is stylish, abs service was good. We had mostly sunny days in July, with one overcast and short rain spurts. The breakfast was very good, and dinner enjoyable, although more options would’ve been good. Unfortunately the two restaurants not included con the dinner plan were very pricy. Thanks however for a relaxing holiday

Amazing! Can Not Recommend Enough!

This was without a doubt one of the best experiences we have ever had... the resort is stunning and the staff made every day perfect! We were there on a family trip for 9 days and every moment was perfect. I can’t speak highly enough about the staff, they made every day better than the last. The resort and staff are simply amazing, thank you for such a wonderful experience!

The property was really great and easy to get around with the bikes. The beach was super clean. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The main bar by the pool had the BEST bartender, Aiman. He literally made our trip amazing. Aiman always gave us awesome service at the bar and even at other places within the property. He even provided an underwater case for us when ours broke in a matter of minutes. The hotel had other guests staying while we were there but it honestly did not even feel like it. A lot of times during breakfast we thought we were the only ones there! There is definitely a lot of privacy if you want it. The food is also very delicious (just watch out for the spicy foods). We checked out the BBQ shack for some seafood and spent many evenings enjoying the Maldivian sunsets at the sunset bar. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely would come back here again!! Thank you for a great vacation!!
