The hotel was ok but there are two issues to note.

The pool (a facility that guests pay for) closes at 8 pm. This is far too early. Most hotels close pools at 11 pm. The water was cold, so the temperature needs to be checked more regularly. The water fountains were not turned on, which affected the ambience.

Only one electronic key was provided for room access. When I mentioned to the reception staff that two guests were staying, I was advised that the hotel policy is to provide ONLY ONE keycard, regardless. This made things difficult for a couple to manage. We aren't connected by a chain and like to do our own things, which means access to the room at different times is required. This affected our stay greatly. This is the key reason we would not stay at the hotel again.

The staff at this hotel are fantastic! Super friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities you would need. The hotel is walking distance to everything in the old city. There is a pool with loungers and bikes to use. They have a little courtyard to sit and have a drink or to just relax. The rooms were spacious and clean. We would definitely recommend and we will return to this hotel next time we are in Chiang Mai. My only regret is that we did not stay longer. Everything you need is steps away from this little gem!

Our stay here was a bit odd. The staff were friendly enough, rooms were decently cleaned. HOWEVER, they only give you one room key per room, instead of enough keys for the amount of people staying in the room (we had 2 people). When we asked for a second key, they refused and said it was their policy to only issue one key per room. This really impacted our plans coming and going from the hotel as well as our daily activities. Coordinating the room key became a chore which is ridiculous. The staff said this was a hotel policy for some reason, but that someone would be available 24/7 to let us into our own rooms if we weren’t the ones carrying the single key card. Lo and behold, I came back to the hotel around 11:45pm one evening and no one was available to let me into my own room. I had to knock on my own door and disturb my partner who was already sleeping. We brought this to the attention of the reception and they were apologetic. They even went as far as embarrassing the security guard and forcing him to apologize to us, as if he was a child. It was an incredibly embarassing experience for both parties as the fault didn’t lie with him, but instead the ridiculous “policy”. The second issue was that we were told there would be daily cleaning, however when we returned around 4:30pm one afternoon, our room was not cleaned. Instead the maid tried to insist on cleaning our room the second we had returned, which we refused. I won’t be rebooking here, and i would not recommend it.

Thapae Loft was the perfect hotel for me due to its location. The hotel is tucked away down an alley away from the busy Old Chiang Mai area. The room was spacious with complimentary snacks and water. The front desk personnel were very welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Excellent location if you plan if exploring the old town is your main purpose. We got the room on 2nd floor, room is of good time. Reception & concierge service is adequate and there is unlimited supply of bottled water. If really to criticize, the water pressure of the shower is not strong. But for the price, it is very good value!

수영장이 깨끗하고 조용해서 풀빌라 같은 느낌이 있는 호텔로 방이 좀 어두운 게 흠이라고 할 수 있는데 암막커튼을 활짝 열면 괜찮은 듯. 우린 창문이 자외선 틴트가 있는 창문인 줄 모르고 첫 날은 암막커튼을 닫고 있었는데 나중에 암막 커튼을 여니깐 훨씬 나았음. 스태프는 매우 친절하고 항상 미소로 맞이해 주었음. 골목 안에 위치해서 시끄럽지 않고 위치도 좋습니다. 더울 때 수영도 하고 편하게 잘 머물다 갑니다.

We picked this hotel because of location, price, very high ratings, and the beautiful photos. However, on the first night we realized that the booking was a mistake when we noticed globs of hair on the shower stall wall, and a constant smell of sewage from the bathroom. We kept the bathroom door closed which helped the situation, also noted that the hot water was just barely hot enough for a nice shower. One night the hot water did go out completely, to their credit the service team did fix the problem immediately. Watch out for mosquitos...as soon as we entered the room, we were bitten!
We considered finding alternate accommodations but last minute options were limited, so we decided to stay in the end as we typically spend most of our time outside of our room when traveling and use the room for sleeping only. The free bottled water was unlimited which we appreciated very much because of the heat, and the reception and security guard on premise were very friendly. The location was very convenient to Tha Pae Gate and the walking street which was the number one reason for choosing this hotel.

Nous avons séjourné 3/4 jours au Thapae Loft Hotel, et avons beaucoup apprécié cet hôtel.
Le personnel est vraiment accueillant et aimable, et on se sent tout de suite bien sur place.
Comme c'est un petit hôtel, il n'y a jamais trop de monde dans les parties communes, ce qui contribue à l'ambiance calme du lieu.
La déco, type loft industrielle, n'est peut-être pas très typique, mais est soignée jusque dans les détails.
Nous avons eu une chambre spacieuse et confortable.
La piscine n'est pas très grande, mais tout à fait suffisante et appréciable après une journée d'excursion.
L'hôtel met aussi gratuitement à disposition des vélos pour aller faire un tour en ville, et est bien situé dans Chiang Mai, notamment pour aller visiter les sites historiques de la vieille ville.
Et très bon rapport qualité/ prix.

We planned on staying for a couple of nights and extended twice because we felt so safe and comfortable. The night security guard, we nicknamed him Joe, was truly amazing and always made sure we were comfortable and got home safely. He’d stand guard until we got into the elevator. Absolutely amazing staff but especially Joe! He even made sure we brought an umbrella when he was concerned it would rain. Amazing place and amazing staff

Nice hotel, well maintained. Easy walking to lots of nice restaurants and shops. Nice pool area that we didn’t use. Nice friendly staff. There is security guard at night since there is no enclosed lobby, anyone can use the elevator.

Only complaint I had was some nice. Not great noise isolation. Some construction outside.

Still overall, great location, cool looks, nice place and pleasant stay.

I am really hard to please so take this review seriously, because I won’t lead you wrong.

The room, on the non construction side was great in every way, spacious, great air conditioning, and we splurged $27 extra per night for the “family room”. We just made it our luggage room. Literally no complaints, all good.

Great location close to everything w easy in and out access.

DO NOT TAKE A ROOM FACING YHE CONSTRUCTION. It is relentless and noisy. Other than this, this lil hotel as cute, and perfect in every way.

Situated a few hundred metres from the main street, with many restaurants, cafes and shops to chose from.
Scooter hire available from across the street (Big Jump)

I like the location because there a small strip mall up the block with different food options; a popular pho place and very unrated ramen restaurant. There is a cat cafe across the street and a nice Buddhist temple on the same block. The hotel rooms are spacious and they have a nice decor. I wish that a breakfast option was offered but there are food option nearby. Don't ask the hotel to book a cab for you because I suspect they pad the bill in their favor, which is my only real complaint.

We were pleasantly surprised by this little boutique hotel. It is located in a quiet alleyway in the heart of the old town, surrounded by many cafes, restaurants and temples.
The hotel is tastefully decorated. The pool was just big enough for us and we enjoyed having a couple of beers in the courtyard.
The staff was very nice, helpful and spoke pretty good english. We would definitely recommend Taphae Loft and would stay again.

The hotel itself is nice, but as a previous reviewer noted over six months ago, there is a strong unpleasant smell from the drains in the ground floor (room 103). It was quite unbearable at times. The industrial chic of the room is pretty cool until you are kept awake by the dripping sounds from the plethora of pipes. The \"hot\" water was lukewarm at the best of times. A lot of room for improvement. The staff are all lovely.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at during our 28 day trip in Thailand. Very friendly staff, nice welcoming check in (felt very special for our anniversary), comfortable bed, good A/C. Cool pool area, cute little bar/patio area where you could buy beer, and felt safe at night with a security guard at the entrance. Walking distance less than 10 minutes to convenience stores and restaurants. Even a departure gift upon checkout. We loved it. They deserve a higher rating!!!

Construction directly outside the window. AC unit was a bit wonky.

On checkout day I had a towel that was used to clean thai tea in my room and as i’m checking out one of the workers brings the towel out to show to the front desk almost as if to make a scene. That was unprofessional and lost my extended stay in chiang mai. Just ended up at a hotel a few blocks from there because of the internet and this incident.

There were a couple of staff members that were nice but one or two that weren’t particularly helpful. They were doing construction next-door and it will be going on for a long time. It was noisy all day. Walls were not very thick and I could hear the next door neighbor’s TV on all night. Also, the hot water never got hot. It was just mildly warm.

Absolutely lovely hotel with amazing amenities, decor, staff, and service. The location is perfection as many temples, restaurants, clubs, and activities are within 2 or more minutes. That said, the hotel is just far enough off the street to make the stay totally quiet and peaceful. The pool was an amazing respite after a days touring the sites nearby, too. Transportation arrived in under a minute, and the airport is 10 minutes away. I can’t praise this place enough!

Property is modern industrial style. Very clean, private, quiet, nice staff. Location is great for night markets and easy walking all around old town. Hotel is not visible from road, but accessible by a short, well lighted alley/driveway. Our taxi from airport had difficulty finding the hotel but all other drivers had no problem. They pick you up at street. No restaurant onsite, though, finding food in Thailand is not a problem.
