This place is a hidden gem! You would not know it from the outside red brick wall, but inside, it is a beautiful oasis of peace and tranquility. Carved wood architecture, staggered levels and ramps give it a great ambiance with lots of privacy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area with snack and drink options was very convenient. We were within close range of a good variety of eating and bar options close to markets.

This hotel was beautiful and serene like the name states. The staff were wonderful and the resort was beautiful. They even have a library room where you can find books in many languages and borrow or leave them for others. This hotel was convenient to lots of shopping, food, massage, and massage services. it was right across the street from a 7-11.

The hotel and staff were amazing. The pool was nice but the chairs at the pool were old and worn. Beds are very firm along with pillows. Breakfast was good with decent selection. The noise with the toads on the property was crazy loud so earplugs would be needed if you need quiet to fall asleep.

This was our second stay after a 6 year gap. It’s very central and convenient. We like the relaxed and friendly ambience. Our room was spacious and quiet. We were glad that they have padded the bed bases as they used to be terrible for hitting your shins. The pool area is lovely. Breakfast was fine although not the huge spread you would get from a big luxury hotel. Would highly recommend for a mid priced hotel in central Chiang Mai that is friendly and comfortable. Be aware the beds are quite hard.

A delightful boutique hotel in Lanna style.
Rooms fine with a good bed. No English TV channels.
Free daily water and plenty of Tbags. Fridge to keep milk and water cool.
Superb main pool. Water so clean and great poolside toilets. Plenty of sunloungers. Pool closes at 7pm which we found a little early.
Breakfast fine with efficient egg ordering service.
Reception staff very pleasant and efficient.
Hotel has all eminities right on your doorstep from 7Eleven, money cashpoint laundry service, nailbar, bars and restaurants. All in a very subtle quiet atmosphere.
Definitely recommend this hotel.

Understated GEM in the middle of everything

A dreamlike stay in the Old Classy World. Phenomenal Architecture and Design. The manager and her extremely loyal staff are very accommodating for flexible requests given the resources. It is an older classic resort in the middle of everything, it is not a new property if that’s what you are looking for. There is no catchy “hype” but we do feel like home.

I don’t know how this hotel got such great reviews in the past. I think the hotel was less than 20% occupied during my stay but I felt like I was put in the worst located room they had. No view and no balcony, I had to keep the curtains closed whenever I was in the room because of people staying in the hotel walking past - that was the only source of natural light. The empty rooms in the hotel had balconies and large windows. The included breakfast was extremely disappointing - inedible white bread, fake orange “juice”, cold pancakes or waffles, 2 kinds of sugary children’s cereal, awful coffee. The cooked to order omelette was good - on the plate was ONE thin slice of ham and 2 inedible mystery meat sausages. On the 3 nights I stayed there was one or 2 types of fruit only and plain yogurt, so overall the breakfast lacked variety and was about the cheapest food available. I wouldn’t stay here again, Chiang Mai has many way better hotels where you get much better value for your money.

Pleasant hotel to stay

The hotel is pretty much centrally located to Chaing Mai, we were able to use the Bolt taxi service to get around effectively.

The hotel upgraded our room which was nice of them, due to covid-19 restrictions some hotel services were impacted. For example the restaurant, bar etc which was a downer but not a disaster as many shops around to stock up.

We visited a number of excellent nearby restaurants and could travel safely back and forth from the hotel.

The outside of the hotel is a little deceptive. But design within is pleasing to the eye and has that somewhat zen appeal. Breakfast view of the central gardem was pleasant.

The set breakfast which provides no choice in the matter was not ideal, but probably convenient for the hotel given the decreased guests. The breakfast served was hit and miss for us, some items i enjoyed and my partner didn't, vice versa etc

The staff were helpful and respectful, but i felt as the english speaker i was mostly ignored and staff preffered to speak directly to my partner leaving me out of the booking process and other relevant conversations. Which was disappointing.

The room was nice the bed was comfortable, at our request an iron was provided. The room had a fridge but was a little ineffective at cooling drinks. The air con also was on the weak side. The balcony door did not close due to the timber swelling, and the safe was throwing a low batt warning, we asked for batteries to be changed however the error didn’t go.

I was slightly disappointed when I arrived at the hotel, after seeing so many good review on Expedia. There were a lot of little insects in the room, including 2 cockroaches during my 4-night stay. The bedding felt not clean. Both my sister and I couldn’t sleep well even after a change of bedding. It is not a wheelchair-friendly hotel, there are a few steps at the front entrance. The restaurant is not worth the try either. However, the best thing about the hotel are their staff especially the reception staff who were very helpful and speak very good English.

Property was in a great location within Old Town. Easy to walk to great restaurants near by for local cuisine.
Rooms were not lit very well but was manageable. Breakfast had a lot of variety and a beautiful location to eat. Pool was perfect to escape the heat. Taps/shower pipes were quite loud from the room that backed on to ours.

Staff here were all very friendly. There were two swimming pools, but one of them was very small and not suitable for actual swimming. The hotel's lanna architecture was very interesting and the overall feel was comfortable. We did find a cockroach one night in our room, but when we called the front desk they sent two staff over immediately found and killed the bug.

My stay at this hotel was far from being serene. What started as a great first impression turned into a highly aggravating and unsatisfying stay at this location. The AC unit in the bedroom was showing its age with its loud compressor loudly humming all night in a fruitless effort to cool down the space. Maintenance did not address this issue after my requests over my two-night stay. Lastly at check out I was told the small towels I had used were soiled beyond use; they supposedly could not be cleaned. I had not used these towels anywhere beyond the usual intent. The hotel asked me to compensate them 7000 Thai Baht, equivalent to about $266 US Dollars for three small towels. After my refusal to pay such an exorbitant amount of money, I was asked to sign a form stating the items were supposedly missing from the room, which I also refused as they were in possession of the items, and nothing was missing from the room. I was extremely disappointed with the way this situation was handled by the staff, alongside the lack of maintain to the room AC. It is sad a place with such a beautiful setting and potential would treat guests in this fashion.

This place is awesome!! I had a couple of nights in Chiang Mai before going to the Elephant Nature Park for a week, and I just kind of lucked out with Bodhi Serene!! It is exactly what the name says....Serene!!! :) :) I was almost temped to just stay there and enjoy the pool, the bar and the over-all ambiance!!! :) I highly recommend Bodhi Serene for a little bit of peace in the middle of all the craziness of tourist season in Chiang Mai!! :) :)

This is a place Ill highly recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Gorgeous boutique hotel, two beautiful pools, incredible staff always ready to help (including for booking amazing tours around Chiang Mai), high quality breakfast, great restaurant service by the main pool etc.
The room is super clean and beautifully designed. They had pick up service at airport and facilitated a cab on the way back to the airport. Location is great, within the old city.

Our stay was outstanding! The staff was welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The room was clean. Our hair dryer didn't work and they were very responsive, giving us a new one that worked perfectly. The hotel grounds are really peaceful - I loved relaxing at the pool, in the common areas and on our patio. The breakfast was also a great addition. Lastly, the hotel is located in a very central location to things to see/do, places to eat, etc. Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our stay here, primarily because of the terrific location which is ideal for exploring the old city or wandering to the restaurants and bars of the Loi Kroh Road area just outside the city walls to the east. Supervised parking just outside the hotel is a bonus, too. Grab Taxi drivers seem to know it well, and it's only a 10-15 minute ride to the Nimman area if you want to go there.

The staff were okay, as was buffet breakfast. Our Executive Room was quite workable, although nothing particularly special about it, and a little dated. Water temperature in the shower was unpredictable. Nice little patio outside facing the garden. I wouldn't be unhappy staying here again, but there is a lot of competition in the old city so they need to do a bit of maintenance and upgrading I would suggest.

Nice comfortable boutique hotel

Decent room with spacious toilet. Bath tub is huge
but swimming pool is much smaller than the photo looks. About 10 to 15 mins walk to everyday night market. No official car park, but there is designated area (right outside the entrance) for car parking.

I like this location a lot, I feel like if this hotel was in a less convenient location the rating would be a lot lower. Having come from another resort with similar nightly fee's I would have at bare minimum expected them to show me to my room upon checking in. While we did receive tea from the initial staff member which was nice after you check in you can feel like you're bothering the staff. The adventures staff member was either on her phone or sleeping on the job and the hotel breakfast and grounds we're explained to us very well. The breakfast isn't included which I find odd because it's not expensive so why not just offer incentive to the guests to eat there?

We had some gecko's in the room no big deal but on the ground floor we did have a cockroach in the room but I can't blame the staff the hotel is located in a city where people throw food and trash on the ground commonly so I was prepared for this to happen. The staff came and removed it very nicely, but if your expecting a spa like room maybe go to the third floor.

Some positives: The bed was very nice, the room was large for the money(King Suite). The location was superb, the night market happens on this street so it's easy and convienent. The staff will book something for you which is nice.

Some negatives: Had some dead bugs in the lighting in the bathroom, pretty gross, no not small ones big ones, not exactly romantic when taking a bath or shower. Price for value, overall cleanliness. Feels a bit dated.

centrally located hotel

We generally enjoyed our stay at the Bodhi Serene hotel. Unfortunately had to deal with the presence of tiny insects in the room throughout our visit. Front desk staff helpful but .could only suggest insects were due to rainy weather conditions. One other disadvantage was that may of the red car drivers did not knw where the hotel was situated in the city.

Enjoyable 2 night stay

Enjoyed our stay. Close to restaurants, Night Bizarre and Weekend Markets. Lovely pool and relaxing areas. Breakfast was good, with a reasonable variety and lovely staff.
