This was sadly a very disappointing trip. Architecturally, the hotel is stunning and the view from the beach room was truly spectacular. However, the property is not well-maintained at all. The furniture feels cheap despite being only about 10 years old.

The biggest issue was cleanliness. It was really poor - I actually had to ask them to clean my room again upon arrival. There were oily finger stains all over the cabinet/closet doors and the shower door, which suggests they barely clean between guests rather than deep cleaning. Additionally, the showerhead in the outdoor tub was broken.

As for dining, the options were frustratingly limited. Breakfast was decent, but for dinner, there were only two restaurants available on-site. Since the hotel is quite isolated, it is impossible to just go out to eat elsewhere. The room service was also very limited, offering chewy pizza and a very small selection of westernized version of Thai food.

The gym was poorly equipped with bad AC, though the AC in the room worked well. On a positive note, the spa was very good. However, be aware that the terrain is vertically very steep; you cannot walk anywhere and will need a TukTuk or car to get around everywhere. Aside from the beach, pool, and spa, there isn't much else to do.

I wish i trusted the reviews more! everyone's pretty bang on.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Toller Pool. Sehr störend war jedoch, dass exzessive weed Rauchen einiger anderer Gäste direkt am Strand ohne Rücksicht auf nichtrauchende andere Gäste. Raucher halten sich an die Raucherbereiche, das sollte auch für weed Konsumenten gelten.
An 3 von 6 Tagen konnte der Strand wegen Hochzeitsfeiern nur eingeschränkt genutzt werden ohne Kompensation seitens des Hotels.

The hotel was nice, however the service wasn't up to par at all. The bathroom bidet sprayer was broken and was leaking the whole time. When i wanted to ask for a converter they wanted to charge me for it until i mentioned i won't be buying it and only want to use it while in hotel. I asked for an arrangement for a birthday celebration and reminded them twice at check-in. However, we only came to find out that there was a cake tucked in the fridge on our last few hours before checkout that no one told us about, and we found it coincidentally when trying to get water. Therefore, we weren't able to enjoy the birthday properly and left the cake untouched. Upon checkout, the associate that came to help us with the bags asked for both our room cards, we had to go look for them which is something we have never done before. All in all, the view was the nicest part of this stay.

The property is quite and very secluded. The staff is very kind and friendly. The pool villa was very large and nice but needs updates. The color of the curtains is too dark for our taste. The beach area is beautiful. As the location is very secluded there are no restaurants around, only those from the hotel so every time we wanted to get out we had to take a taxi. Overall a nice property but needs updates

We stayed in a pool villa room, signature high bay, the view at sunset was excellent and could watch either from the balcony or pool. The room was also a short walk to reception and if you wanted to go elsewhere , buggy request available. The beach is a coral reef, so excellent for snorkelling, and although you can swim , be mindful that you can only do this at high tide. As a side note, the resort is quite remote, so the only way out is by taxi, and these are quite expensive even using Grab, Bolt or the hotel's, and approx each way will cost between 400 to 450 baht , if you wanted to visit Kamala or Patong Beach.

Stayed in a beach access pool villa for 4 nights as a few friends recommended this resort.
The location was secluded, private but located on the side of a steep ish hill so planning is required as there are limited shuttled vehicles. not for those who require mobility assistance.
Arrived late to the villa, check in was quick. we noticed was the fixture and fittings looked a bit dated and worn for hotel only 10yrs old.
The bed was probably one of the lumpiest mattresses I’ve slept on so as you could imagine we didn’t sleep very well. One of the bedroom lights wasn’t working, toilet roll holder hanging off, tv wasn’t working and power kept turning off briefly.
Rain shower was useless as the water jet direction was all over the place from not being cleaned and on using the hand held shower, my neck was accidentally scratched leaving a light cut as the worn shower head had left a sharp edge.
We reported this to the resort staff and whilst the shower head was replaced, the lights and tv were fixed we decided to stay one more night and move as it was not to our expectations.
Originally they advised us that as we prepaid via a third party we wouldn’t be allowed a refund for the nights we were not staying there but on our early departure they agreed to just charge us for the nights stayed and refund the remainder.
Whilst the staff were very professional and looked after us, the maintenance and renovation of the resort definitely needs a big improvement!!

Fantastic location. Cool villa with terrace and pool. Excellent beakfast buffet. Convenient very long pool on the beach ideal for swimming. BUT : -Stones on the beach should be regularly removed. -Parasols on the beach would be nice to have. - Rooms and facilities need renovations. -Housekeeping service was often in late afternoon ( morning service would be better).

We had such a great experience from the check in all the way to the end of check out process . Ying was fabulous along with the staff from
Golf cart rides to the staff at the buffet . They all were very attentive . Just remember if you want the hustle bustle busy party hotel or area this one is def not the one. It’s situated more for relaxation and best for couples especially with our own private infinity pool to our private beach area .

A disappointment

I rarely ever leave reviews but I must do so for the Naka Phuket. If you stay, I would not advise you to book the Napa Suite. My boyfriend and I stayed here and had the most disappointing experience.

Their buggy system is inefficient and makes the whole stay extremely inconvenient.

The Napa Suite looked like a motel room that had clearly not been renovated for years. To be paying 2500 HKD for a room like this per night is unacceptable. It \"boasts\" an outdoor tub but housekeeping didn't clean it before we arrived, there were leaves and twigs everywhere the floor on the balcony was dirty.

Found hair in the shower and the bed mattress was lumpy. Airconditioner was old and so was the TV. Room was extremely unwelcoming and if you arrive at the building complex past 11, its pitch black and you can hardly find your way to the room.

It's clear that the hotel probably struggled during covid and is trying to make up for it now by cutting corners. The toiletries all don't match (i.e. the toothbrush packages looked like they came from two different hotels).

The hotel is also severely understaffed, the pool bar only had 2 ladies working both the beach and the pool which made it difficult to put orders in etc.

Unless the hotel has a serious renovation I would not advise you to stay here. I'm not sure what the villas are like, maybe they're nicer but the hotel is old and they've missed out on a lot of the finer details that you'd expect when paying what you are paying.

The Naka is well located near Patong and the activities in the area - and only half an hour to Phuket Town & the large shopping centre.

Nicely located on a hillside - with a pool beside the small beach - the pool villas and bedrooms have nice outlooks to sea. A little worn perhaps, with a strange layout (the showers & toilet are at the opposite end of the unit behind the living & bathrooms.

Staff are very helpful - if a little short on understanding of English. The food is very good and the breakfast buffet is of a high standard.

If you secure a good relative rate - a nice option. Rent a car for access to the many surrounding areas.

If you want to spend time at the hotel only, then this is the place for you. You have a private beach where you can kayak and snorkel. However, it is so far to get anywhere else. You cannot walk anywhere at all. The taxi service from the hotel starts from 450 baht. Facilities are old and not well maintained.

The 2 bedroom unit that we booked developed a leak before we arrived. Even though they reached out to let me know we couldn't arrange for a pick up from the airport, they said nothing about our room being damaged and thus unavailable. They tried to fix the problem by putting us in two separate 1-bedroom units for the same price. We politely declined and then spent the first three days of our five day trip moving rooms so they could 'accommodate' us. They didn't want to offer us a refund for the two nights we stayed in a one-bedroom so now I am having to chase hotels.com for this. I also cannot recommend the food. Restaurant closes as 7:30pm so any food after that would have to be ordered through an app which is inconvenient given the location of the hotel. Overall, very unpleasant stay and would not recommend unless you just need a lot of space for multiple families and don't mind being far from a town

Could definitely tell it was very nice when it first opened, but as of our visit (Nov 2019) we could see some (minor) rusts and cracks in the buildings. Otherwise, the private pool water was clean, and the breakfast was good. If you are planning on sight seeing around town, this is probably not the place as getting into Patong takes about 30 minutes. Even within the facility, if you are staying in the \"high bay\" area, you definitely need to call for the cart to move anywhere (the beach, breakfast, lobby...). We had a good time chilling by the private pool. Keep in mind that the pool villas are built with the open space concept--the pro is that the view is excellent, and the con is that the privacy is not entirely guaranteed.

Short comprehensive review

This was one of the best hotel/resort experiences I've had anywhere in the world. If Phuket wasn't beautiful enough already, the Naka Phuket makes me want to return to Thailand just to visit this property again. The entire staff is super helpful and nice. Breakfast is amazing. Plenty of western and local choices. Note that some rooms require walking up a lot of steps. If you have mobility issues, consider requesting a room that is more easily accessible. With its private beach, we didnt NEED to go anywhere. If you're debating between the different areas in Phuket, especially Patong, know that Patong is very busy. The nightlife is wild. If you want this, great. But I was much more happy staying away from it all yet having access to it by 15 min shuttle or taxi ride. Also note, if you stay at this property, you're not going to walk anywhere. The hotel is secluded and the area, along with the property, is very hilly. The hotel provides a tuk tuk to take you anywhere you need within the property, and you will take a taxi or the hotel shuttle to go anywhere else. Someone commented in a previous review about a drainage pipe feeding into the water near the private beach. The review had me second guessing this place, but it was very small and hardly noticeable...plus far enough away that I didn't have concerns about sewage or anything. Bottom line... The Naka is top notch! If its in your budget, even if you have to stretch a bit, its well worth it!

The staffs are extremely helpful, also very friendly and always carry a smile. Breakfast buffet is very nice, they do offer a wide range of cuisines ( Chinese, western, and Thai of course).
Good English communication skills. Overall a very pleasant experience at Naka Phuket and will definitely re-visit.
One thing to note is that transportation to Patong is not as convenient compare to other hotels and villas in the same area, I think the villa is more suitable for people who plan to rent a car and travel around but if not, one way taxi to Patong is around THB 440 (as for Aug 2019).

We have spent 7 days and 6 nights in the one bedroom deluxe sea view villa.
Pros:
1) great location. Only 15 minutes drive to Patong area
2) have a small private beach
3) breakfast runs till 11am.
Cons:
1) The hotel room lacks maintenance on its hardware. Lots of missing tiles in the pool. Both my boyfriend and I have a small cut caused by it. The toilet seat was so broken and tilted that you are literally sitting on the bowl itself. The outdoor bathtub’s switch to shower was broken.
2) there was very little privacy. The outdoor bath was totally visible to the villas one level up. There was no cover nor anything. The staff has suggested for us to put on swimsuit whilst bathing.
3) you would expect top notch and personalised services provided by such a luxurious resort. However, the staffs were far from any of the other JW Marriott’s quality. We have spent 7 days there and none of the staff at the restaurant remembered us, nor would they greet the guests with a smile. Check in staff were not very professional either. I have asked for a late check out upon arrival and the staff said they could only give us a confirmation one day in advance. However, we went out at 4ish pm and came back at around 1am. No answer was found and we had to take the initiative to contact the front desk.
4) housekeeping did a rather sketchy job. Used cup were left on coffee table. Insect repellent was left on the sofa. Didn’t refill empty tissue box. Have bugs bite on the bed at night.

I kinda like to leave a 4.5 star for this stay, lets start with the cons, as previous review by other tourist, seems like their check-in SOP intend to misleading us to stay in a poor view room until people get mad and negotiate with them. Btw, the problem are solved eventually.

Next will be the pros, the view definitely worth the price, especially when you are a sea view + private pool person. Even though having the same problem with other resort, restaurant are limited, and charging unreasonable price, however, the food quality and services are up to standard and deserve a 5 star review.

Overall, I'm happy with the stay and will going back pretty soon.

Naka anniversary vacation.

Room was clean and nice. Service was prompt when requests were made. Our trip was for an anniversary. Unfortunately that aspect of our trip was not emphasized or recognized. Our arrival was at 12:00 PM but were asked to wait for room for 3 hours even though early checkin was requested and it was made known as n advance we were traveling large distance and would be quite exhausted on arrival. None of the restaurants had AC. Property looks a bit tired, as though it has not had significant up keep. Clear signs of climate and weather eroding buildings. Nice design concept over all but some aspects are not functional. Poor use of space at pool on entrance to the apartment. The area has no store nearby. Staff was pleasant and tried hard to keep us happy. I felt there were a number of employees that worked very hard to do their job well, and another set that kind of just stood around and avoided eye contact so as to avoid being asked for anything. Over all we enjoyed our time and it was relaxing. The private beach is nice and the views are very nice as well.

The overall stay was excellent! It was the honeymoon trip for me and my wife and it was so good that we have extended our stay for 3 more nights.
Staffs were helpful since before we even arrive and through out our stay. They helped us arrange this honeymoon trip and gave us a cake and champagne on arrival. Specially there was a manager which helped my wife to arrange for those nail cleaning thing, much appreciated!
We have also tried every restaurant at the hotel and they are not bad, each of those restaurants serve different food, the best one we had however was the room service!
Definitely worth the stay, i would recommend it to anyone!

Great service and buffet breakfast. Nice quiet place with Olympic sized pool. The private pool and private beach make it great for kids! Beautiful rooms as well with stunning views.

aesthetically pleasing architecturally. we value privacy and our villa was unfortunately directly above the restaurant. there was a wedding happening the same weekend we stayed which impacted our level of enjoyment. also, the air conditioning in our villa didn’t seem to be working properly as we routinely woke up due to our bedroom being far warmer than we had set the thermostat to.

Beautiful property. Excellent location. The breakfast at this place is better than any I have ever had and the villas are gorgeous with their private pools. Stay here if you wanna be close to Pag beach but not in the middle of the Pating madness.

Best honeymoon

One of the most exciting places I have ever stayed in.
The pool villa was very romantic and relaxing and spacious for me and my wife
The shore was great and clean and good for a walk.
The only problem was the way to the naka phuket was a little bit difficult.
Another problem was the jacuzzi was not working and it was not a bug deal because I have the pool.

Undertrained staff and poor service. Overrated!

The WiFi does not work in our room and we need to call staff to repair it when we first come. The staff should check it before let us enter room as 5 stars. After checking and repairing WiFi, the staff reports to the front desk that we can an extra lady living in our room and want to charge us extra fee for extra person. I am so confused and we only have two people living here and I have to recall the staff again and again to inform them there is no extra lady! It’s a bit scary as wel and unprofessional for treating customer like this. For dinner, some food r missing and need to call staff to deliver the missing food again. On the other day, a staff suddenly come to our room and say we booked a car... but we didn’t and I was sleeping. The shuttle bus to Patong is also late and need us to wait 15 mins more for the bus BUT the shuttle is “Tuk tuk”.... I expect the shuttle bus is a proper car for 5 stars hotel. Overall the design of the hotel is well but kind of old probably due to the building structure without the protection coat. The staff are undertrained and made a lot mistakes in 3 days. For checking out, they asked us to wait 5 mins for checking the room. After that, no one ask us to leave until a staff realised they forgot to inform us... the service is poor as 5 stars and I expect a lot more due to the Price and rating. Not recommend to stay here because there are better choices with this price.

Beautiful design but service has to improve

The hotel is pretty well maintained and good privacy. The architecture is interesting with a nice ocean view in my room. Very good for having a quiet vocation. However, services are not attentive. Upon arrival, there were 2 other guests arrived 10 minutes later than me, but they were being served first. No one explained where to have breakfast, after charging my credit card for deposit, I was sent to the buggie,
that's it. One evening, I was asking for the buggie from their restaurant back to room, end up waited for 25 minutes as the request being forgotten. I understand sometimes it might be several requests at the same time, but there were not many guests. The last evening, when I was taking shower, the reception called to remind me to check out on the next day, the attitude was rather unpleasant. Probably because it took half minute for me to pick up the call, but I was in shower ! Also, who would forget the check out date? I had informed the reception upon arrival that I booked the pick up at 1pm, so it's not possible for me to stay behind in the room over time. It's not necessary to 'remind ' at all if they pay attention.
