Hotel is nice, location is perfect, laundry across the street and right beside the old city while being off on a quiet street. The standout here however is the service, this hotel operates like a 5 star hotel with staff helping you book dinner reservations, asking if you want ice cream or beer for free while sitting by the pool, constantly making sure you are comfortable and don't need anything and the breakfast is huge and a wide variety every morning.

We stayed at Bed Chiangmai Gate Hotel for 7 nights and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai! The staff was so friendly, the room was spotless, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was close to Old Town, and so many temples and restaurants.

Our room 211 was directly below front of hotel where they collect garbage at 4-5am so disturbed us a little but no really much the hotel can do about that.

I had the best stay at BED. I wanted to extend my booking but they were fully booked, which is so understandable, as it is such a lovely place to stay.

I can’t thank the staff enough for their hospitality, always interested in what we were doing in the day, and giving advice to make our day trips easier!

We arrived in Halloween, and I told the staff that I love Halloween as my birthday is the 1st of November. When I arrived back from my day trip on my birthday, I was greeted with 2 complimentary beers, and cakes decorated like ghosts, with a candle☺️.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough if you’re staying in Chiang Mai. A hotel like this in the UK would probably be over triple the price!

Old Town Central. A nice nightly food market 2-3 blocks away and hella close to just about everything around Chiang Mai. Saturday night market (killer!!) is right around the corner. Nothing within an hours distance that your feet’s, a rickshaw Grab App or motor bike rental can’t easily get you to.

Room was spacious, modern and clean. Sliders between the hall to toilet and again to shower. Door from shower to your bed. Comfy bed and deck couch if you’ve got the time to just chillax in your room (who does?). Great (looking) pool. I was there for 4 nights only so I was constantly on the go. I brushed my teeth with the tap water (0 issues), there was always cold bottled water and some sodas in the room fridge.

Staff were wonderful, always welcoming you or saying goodbye with ginormous smiles on their faces. Had a letter promptly handed to me on my arrival and the one minor maintenance issue I had was promptly resolved.

I hung out most evening for an hour or two with a group at the closest hostel. Never saw the rooms but I’m sure for $20-ish bucks a night they were pretty decent. Spend the $60 bucks or so a night and stay in a US 3+ star place and wake up well rested each morning to a very tasty and well proportioned free breakfast. 24 hour coffee machine with refrigerator sliders full of H2O, soda, juice, etc. there was a auto water machine too for filling your own Nalgene or backpack bladder (like I did every morning).

100% recommended stay from me. Tell them hi 4 me.

From the moment we arrived at Bed Gate Chiang Mai, we were greeted by the warmest staff who consistently checked in to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. Their hospitality truly elevated our experience and made us feel right at home.

The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just a stone’s throw from the Old Town, with endless shopping and dining options within walking distance. Yet, nestled in a quiet corner, it offered a peaceful retreat from the city buzz. The adults-only vibe added an extra layer of serenity we really appreciated.

🍳 Breakfast each morning was delicious and beautifully presented, a delightful start to the day. The self-serve water and coffee station available at all times was a thoughtful touch that didn’t go unnoticed.

🛍️ We also loved how close we were to the Saturday and Sunday night markets—vibrant, energetic, and budget-friendly. Chiang Mai is filled with kind-hearted, friendly locals, and every interaction reminded us why this city is so special.

Great location, just a few meters off a nightly food market and 15-20min walk to multiple bar areas and the main night bazar.

Room was comfortable and clean, but no shelves/place to put away suitcases and clothes outside a handful of hangers which was annoying.

Staff is amazingly attentive, friendly and professional. Probably the best service we got in our two weeks in Thailand. Breakfast options are very varied and tasty, again probably the best breakfast offering we’ve had.

Did not use the pool (nor seen anyone use it). It is located “in” the building, just next to the lobby/breakfast area so did not necessarily scream relaxation spot but still a nice design feature.

Only downside was that our room was on the front of the hotel (street side), and although there isn’t much traffic, the bin collection lorries drove through the street every morning to collect rubbish, and were very noisy.. so we got woken up at various times because of them - once at 8am which was sort of acceptable but the second night it was still dark and felt like 4-5am.

Perfect hotel, perfect staff!

I cannot praise BED Chiangmai Gate Hotel enough! Beginning with the staff who were so welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic, to the room which was very clean and spacious, to the bed with two pillows each which was very comfortable. Breakfast was a bonus, with coffee, tea, fruit, water and noodles available all day. The location was also great. We just wish that we could have stayed longer!

Couldn’t have picked a better hotel... here’s why:
1) initially when you walk in the decor is really modern and fresh it has a really open and fresh feel to it
2) the whole hotel including pool area, bedrooms, breakfast area bathroom was kept immaculate
3) the staff were so friendly but not in false way or a scripted way, I felt like they were genuine and wanted to make our stay as nice as possible. They took an interest in our daily excursions and if we saw the same staff member. Few days later they would remember and ask if we enjoyed it. They offered us beer when we sat by the pool and showed pictures on their phone of places to go
4) beds were comfy and the rooms were quiet. The shower was big and warm.
5) breakfast was different every day with some elements that stayed the same - the fresh fruit was lovely but they also have croissants/pan au chocolates and 2 different Thai pastries or cakes which were different every day and some were delicious even for a fussy eater like me. They also served 3 flavours of sticky rice, assorted Thai meats and other dishes which again were different each day like vegetables diced and cooked foods.
6) great location easy access
Overall we loved loved loved chiang mai and I was gutted to leave for Bangkok where we are now - wish we were still in BED gate chiang mai.
To other people coming here you must visit the elephant sanctuary called elephant nature reserve it was the best day of my life and doi Inthanon (chiang mai good tour)

Great rooms minimalist modern in a great location- minutes to Chiangmai Gate but in a quiet alley. High water pressure, nice pool ultra clean and modern ! Unlimited cappuccinos and lattes 24 hours with fruits and banana bread. Breakfast is hot, great selection of croissants and pastries with a blend of Western Thai fusion-don’t miss Chiangmai sausage. It’s heavy with satay , salad, More like brunch. If there is one thing I have to suggest- it’s best to have a water dispenser for guests to refill water containers instead of an unlimited plastic bottled water.

Great stay! But.....

We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed the hotel. It’s very much like the pictures portray, and the room was far more spacious than I thought. And the shower, wow. Huge and a powerful pressure, fab.

We had room 101 initially which was fine, it was on the ground floor and had a little outside area. However, on our first afternoon we returned to our room as I was feeling a bit headachey. Unfortunately, there was a large group of guests who were gathered in the communal area by the pool and I kid you not when I say we couldn’t hear our tv over their voices. Hardly a relaxing way to spend some time in our room. Later on, I went to speak to the girls on reception to ask if we could move room. They were able to move us to the third floor the next day, explaining that this group would be there for quite a few days. Or rather, these specific guests would be leaving but replaced by another large group of guests so we would have a similar issue.

We were really pleased the hotel was able to switch rooms for us, but I think they should have advised us when we checked in that there was a large group staying, esp as they then commissioned the communal area for a private party late afternoon. It was only 5-7 but you had to walk through that area to leave the hotel.

All that aside, I would definitely stay again. The staff were friendly and breakfast hit the spot. Shame that certain guests don’t appreciate that they have loud voices and not everyone wants to hear their every word!

This is a very affordable hotel. I would say it’s probably best for 25 and under. The breakfast was good and the staff was very polite. It’s kind of off the main streets and can be difficult to get to by Grab or Taxi on the weekends due to the markets closing the streets. It can also be pretty loud in the mornings when people start stirring around the halls.

Excellent stay in chiang Mai! Location is nice, just outside the old gate, but in a quiet enough area. Everything is pretty simple here, which is fine if you’re looking for no-frills. The staff were helpful, and the breakfast was tasty. Big pro is having water bottles available at all times and not charging for these! Had laundry sent out here, which was convenient.

The only two issues we encountered were with the pool. One (hot) afternoon we had gotten back from exploring and had hoped to jump into the pool but it was closed early that day. Fine, no big deal. The next day we went in and all of a sudden started smelling horrible chemicals smells, to the point where I heard other people choking and gagging. We had to immediately leave and took several hours to recover from the chemical inhalation. While it seemed to be from the construction next door, it was a terribly unpleasant experience.

Within walking distance to the old city. Bike rental recommended to view temples, we did a lot of walking. The staff is great, they helped us with recommendations for places to eat and transportation to Doi Suthep and Chiang Rai. The Fern Forrest is a great relaxing stop for lunch. Do not forget your insect repellent anywhere in Thailand.

This hotel is awesome! You won't be disappointed. Tucked away in a small alley at the same time walking distance from the markets. Breakfast provided each morning is phenomenal with fruits and coffee. Hotel room is spacious . Clean. And comfortable. Staff is very helpful and friendly. When you have a chance, when leaving the hotel, turn right, walk about 10 feet, there is a little grandma who sells roasted banana. She's the cutest little thing. Please go support her even if you don't like bananas.

The staff here is amazing!!! They proactively go above and beyond to help with anything you could need and truly care about their guests. The breakfast is probably the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. Everything is super clean, the wifi is fast, there’s unlimited free water (and coffee/tea/fruit) available, and it’s in a great location. But above all, the staff will really make your trip something special. I just wish there were more BEDs all over the world!

Modern & nice hotel near Chiang Mai Gate

This is my first time been to Chiang Mai & I had stayed in BED Chiang Mai Gate Hotel for 4 nights. It is a modern design hotel and looks quite new. The hotel is not very big but it has everything we need. Location is good as it is near to Bumrung Buri Market and Saturday Night Market Street. The hotel staff are very friendly and speak fluent English. They are helpful too when you're in need eg. book taxi/song teaw or check direction of places. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The wooden floor made the room we stay feels like home. The shower head is strong and ample space to move around in the bathroom. Good thing about the toilet and bathroom are separated. Besides that, their breakfast really delighted me and it surpassed my expectation for a boutique hotel. It has quite a good choices of Thai and western style food. Try to wake up early to enjoy the freshest food from the kitchen. Also, there are fresh tropical fruits served daily in the middle of the breakfast long table. I must praise the thoughtfulness of this hotel on providing free drinking water in bottles and coffee all day long. Appreciate that alot! All the good things about this hotel made it value for the money paid. We truly enjoyed our stay in BED Chiang Mai Gate Hotel and will definitely come back again. Thank you for your great hospitality too!

From the check-in to the manager helping us load our bags into a taxi, our stay at the BED Hotel was awesome!
The location was close to the city center, but tucked away on a side alley - or soi - so it is quiet and relaxing. As a business traveler, the BIG signs reminding everyone about quiet hours gave my heart a little boost!
As good as the facilities and amenities are, the staff is the real star of the show. They were - from the front desk to housekeeping - spot on in their quality of service. I would favorably rate them against any 4-5 star hotel (they are THAT good).
The breakfast was excellent in both quality and diversity. (Did I mention the bacon wrapped bananas?)
All-in-all, I would highly recommend the BED Hotel. As a business traveler who spends hundreds of nights in hotels annually, I would stay here again.. and again and again!

Pros: great location near South Gate and food and night market. Staff is awesome and helpful. Breakfast is ok. All the bottled water and coffee you want and coffee is good. Great strong hot shower and air conditioning. Cons: banging room doors. When people are coming in and heading to bed, the heavy doors and the echoing hallways make for loudness. Also, very little storage. The rooms are small and tight without closets. If you don’t want to live out of your suitcase, find another place.

The room was really comfortable and practical. Staff were very friendly and helpful in providing advice on where to go in and around the Chiang Mai. Free drinking water and a good balance of options at the breakfast buffet. Very close to Saturday walking street market. The only negative aspect was that our visit coincided with a few days of swimming pool maintenance, so we didn’t get a chance to try out the pool. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel has cool vibe. Not really close to any bars or hustle/bustle of the city except it's close proximity to the Saturday night market. Large rooms with comfortable bed/pillows. Awesome floor to ceiling window but not a great view. Really liked their breakfast; felt like authentic Thai breakfast with sticky rice! Although I enjoyed my stay I feel I may have overpaid and would try a different hotel next time.

The hotel is very close to the airport and on the outskirts of the old town square.
It has a young vibe, staff is extremely friendly. Bottled water, caffe, tea, hot chocolate are free all day and night as well as local fruit (mini bananas, melon, dragon fruit, pineapple and papaya)
The pool is heavily chlorinated, I would recommend goggles when swimming.
Overall very clean, friendly and modern.

非常值得一提的是這間飯店的早餐，包含在住宿費用裡的早餐卻非常豐盛，包含著清邁當地的風味、跨越國界都會喜歡的食物，咖啡也非常的美味，更不用說那些源源不絕的新鮮水果與蔬菜。

若真的要說可惜之處，房間的隔音稍微的不好，我們住在1樓的邊間，早餐的時刻會被餐盤的碰撞聲喚醒，但說實話，我們不是對聲音非常敏感的人，因此並沒有受到太多的影響。唯一最大的影響是隔壁房間在深夜時大聲說電話的聲音，除此之外都非常令人感到滿足。

如果未來要再去一次清邁，我想我們還是會選擇他們，這間舒適、交通方便、服務優質的小巧飯店。

年末年始に約10日間滞在しました。
朝10時前に到着しましたが、到着後すぐに朝食をいただけたのは初めての経験でした。

タイには毎年行っていますが、洗面台の穴にカビが生えていないホテルは初めてでした。水回りのシリコンも新しく、日頃からきちんとメンテナンスされている印象でした。
日本語を話せるスタッフの方もいて、とても親切で、周辺のおすすめ店なども教えていただきました。

浴室に鏡はありませんが、洗面台とトイレにあるため特に不便は感じませんでした。
水や果物、カップ麺は24時間自由に利用でき、朝食は品数こそ少なめですが、どれも手が込んでいて美味しく、つい食べ過ぎてしまいました。

徒歩3～4分の市場には夜になると屋台が多く出て、土曜はサタデーマーケットも開催されます。Lotusやセブンイレブンも近く、立地もとても便利でした。
本当にお勧めできるホテルでした。

Nous avons passé un séjour vraiment agréable dans cet hôtel. Les chambres sont confortables et très bien tenues, et nous avons particulièrement apprécié la localisation idéale, à proximité de tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Le personnel est chaleureux, attentif et accueillant, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus plaisante. Le petit déjeuner, varié et savoureux, a été un vrai plaisir chaque matin.

Seul petit point à améliorer : l’insonorisation des chambres pourrait être renforcée, car on perçoit parfois les bruits extérieurs. Cela reste un détail qui n’entache en rien la qualité globale de notre séjour. Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel !
