After confusion with our reservation, staff moved us to a different room. Bed and shower were great. Restaurant was abysmal, except for the rooftop setting. Much of the menu, including all the seafood, was out of stock. Everything is extra--shuttle to airport, breakfast.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. There was construction happening, for building an addition to the hotel, but it didn't interfere, as they shut down for the night.

Stayed one night before flying out. We were allowed to check in when we arrived early. Gift store was closed as were all surrounding shops as it was a Sunday. Room and hotel were clean.
Our undesirable view was the expansion they are doing in the hotel. Our hotel room window was covered in concrete splatter and dust and the construction noise started at 7 am. Nice rooftop restaurant with view of the ocean. Service at the restaurant was very slow. We had dinner and breakfast there. Food was average.

We had a wonderful stay at the Golden Bay Hotel. Orlando was quick to respond to help set up our transfer to and from the airport. Jorge did a great job of picking us up and telling us about Belize and places to see. Orlando was quick and efficient at check in while telling us about the construction for the expansio of their property. He offered to move us to a quieter room and then comped us breakfast when we told him we would be fine where we were. Breakfast was fabulous and the views from the rooftop were a great way to kick off our trip. Johnathan was also great in taking us back to the airport to meet our tour group in the afternoon. All around great stay!

The staff were incredibly responsive and friendly. They helped us with finding a tour guide and rides to the airport. When there was a glitch in our pick up, they made it right by offering a complimentary breakfast. The room was clean and well appointed. The only issue was that we had no window to look out as they were under construction so it was a bit off putting. However location was perfect, right on the water and within walking distance to the cruise ship area.

Terribly overpriced room for not getting any rest. Very loud construction and banging going on, they’re currently renovating hotel. And we were placed in a room below the kitchen and it was very loud all night until after 11pm and then it started up again at 6am. Would’ve chosen a different hotel if I’d realized. Expedia showed all good reviews but that must’ve been before hotel went under renovation. What a rip off

This might be a nice hotel but right now they are under construction.
pros: the restaurant is amazing, the staff are helpful and kind and the linens and towels are lux.
Cons: we were in room 303 and the view is the construction (like literally a concentrate shell that completely blocks the view). But more so than that, it's the noise. We checked in at 3 and the construction sounds were brutal. Super loud grinding and jack hammering. They promised us they would stop by 5. At 6 we called the front desk, and they said they would get them to stop. But then we kept hearing super loud sounds. Turns out it's the kitchen washing dishes and cutlery. It sounded like it was right outside of our room and went on until 1am. Why would the hotel place us in the room with such loud sounds? At 11pm they offered to move us. Why didn't they move us earlier? We finally got to sleep at 1am and then the kitchen breakfast sounds started again at 6am. They comped our breakfast which was nice but then we promptly checked out. If you value your sleep don't stay here.

Easy and quick check-in and check-out. Clean and functionally appointed room. Nice rooftop restaurant. Several other restaurants are nearby and there is a small grocery in the lobby. This hotel is an excellent choice in transition to Ambergris or Turneffe Caye. It's a 3 minute taxi to both Belize Express and Carribean Sprinter docks.

Unless I missed something, the hotel pictures and description failed to mention an ongoing construction project. The project included loud noises outside the window and extremely limited parking at the site. I'm addition, the shower did not have hot water. It was mild if I'm being generous. The staff was friendly and professional, but the current condition of the property doesn't align with the marketing and a statement of we’re sorry at check-in doesn't pass muster.

We had a comfortable stay. The room was clean and very spacious, with an ocean/city view combo. The bed was a little too firm but we slept alright on it. The A/C was excellent and the temperature in the room was quite cool and comfortable (and adjustable to our liking). We would have liked an early check-in option, and the front desk said they would call as soon as the room was ready, but I never received a call (had no missed calls, either), and we had to wait over 2 hours to check in, though they did hold our luggage for us, which was nice. They had changed shifts by the time we were able to check in and it seemed like the early shift did not communicate anything about us waiting to the later shift. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and we really liked the rooftop restaurant. It had excellent food and service, and pretty good drinks.

You dont have a pool, your facilities is still under construction, restaurant food was not good on any day we visited. Your local restaurants offer better quality. The room was very nice but the showerhead needs to be soaked in to clean out the sprayer. Staff was wonderful. Shops were ok. We were confused by the floor numbers and room numbers butgot use too it. A great experience

Our group of 20 persons stayed at the Golden Bay Belize for one night. I had contacted the hotel in advance and they were very helpful in helping me secure a cave tubing tour for our group. When we arrived, the hotel restaurant was to be closed for a private event, despite me notifying the hotel our group would like to eat at the restaurant. The front desk was amazing and had staff prepare an area in the restaurant for our group and we were able to have our evening at the hotel as planned. The hotel provided our group with towels for the tour and even delivered our luggage to the dock after our tour to save our group an extra stop at the hotel.
I cannot say enough good about this hotel. It is reasonably priced, and clean. The restaurant is first rate and the staff does above and beyond to provide the best experience for their customers.
I will continue to book our groups through the Golden Bay.
