This was the second visit to Sleep Mia. The staff is warm, kind and courteous. The small buffet in the morning has a nice collection of Western and Asian foods. Thw rooms were clean and comfortable. Walking distance to many Temples and the Thapae Gate. Highly recommend.

We spent a week in Chang Mai staying at the Sleep Mai Lifestyle Hotel Thapae. We loved this hotel. It’s in a great location near the Tha Phae gate. This location made most places easily walkable or an easy place to be picked up by a Grab or Tour.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was modern and clean. Breakfast is wonderful. There is a pool for a refresh after a long day of sightseeing, however it is cold probably because it’s in a shaded area.

Although no coffee/tea in the rooms there are kettle with mugs. Free tea/coffee in the reception area all the time. Hard working staff keep this property clean always.

The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the staff friendly. Their breakfast was fair, it could have been better. Over all it was a place to stay with nothing great standing out.

We had an excellent 8 night stay in balcony connecting rooms. Very clean and comfortable with friendly reception staff, a lovely hot shower and crisp white linen.

The location was superb. Down a quiet little lane but only a 2 minute walk to the old city moat/wall. It's surrounded by restaurants, bars and cafe's. It's a beautiful area around the moat.

It was a 10 minute walk to the night market (daily one) and a 3 minute walk to the Sunday market. There are tuktuks and red taxi's constantly driving past the lane. Just pop your hand out and one will pull over.

My only suggestion for improvement is the breakfast. There are constant staples - fresh fruit, toast, yoghurt, cornflakes, juice, coffee, water, rice, fried eggs, ham, local options and a great egg station (freshly cooked omelettes and scrambled eggs from 8-10am). There were always a few rotating options that weren't served in a warmer though (potato wedges, mini waffles etc.). These would be nicer warm. We got around it by asking the lady at the egg station to warm them back up in her pan for us.

Overall a great stay and we would recommend it to others looking in this price range.

Sleep Mai was a decent stay but definitely needs work. Firstly, we were given a room on the ground floor right next to the hallway window where the trash is thrown out and stored. Sometimes housekeeping would leave that window cracked open which is just asking for roaches to enter. I’m sure it’s as issue too because I’ve seen huge roaches around the property and hotel staff put roach baits in the corners. Location is pretty weird too as their front lobby faces a narrow alleyway next to a motorbike rental lot. It’s stinks of gasoline during the day and the alleyway is so narrow that most tour vans and Grab cabs have trouble driving through or even finding the place. We had a tour van get lost trying to find Sleep Mai that one of the hotel employees had to guide us through their back alley to find the van parked on the next street over. While we were lead through their back alley, my gf stepped in a pile of poop which really dampened the rest of the day and the tour we paid for. Why would the staff even lead us through there. It was disgusting. I know these are things the hotel can’t really control since it’s really the surrounding area around the hotel that’s disgusting and inconvenient, but it definitely made the stay a little tense.

I booked the room with a balcony. It was small but very clean and cozy. The AC should be cooler but staff came and fixed it so it was working okay. The staff at the reception was very professional, helpful and smiling all the time. Breakfast was very basic with limited choices but given the price it was okay. All in all a nice place to stay for a short visit.

The new hotel was perfectly located for see the markets and old city. The hotel was very clean and well staffed. Our room was very well equipped with water, small ref , security safe. Bath provided Lage cotton towels, shampoo, conditioning and body wash. Lobby sells drinks and small snacks. Pool area has limited seating but was never a issue. Water was very clean during our stay. Breakfast was very similar to our other hotels. If provided it fine. There is a really nice breakfast restaurant a few doors down for about the same price and was very good. The staff is really help you with our needs. All staff members were so very kind.

The property is in good condition and renovated. However the room was small. We are three people and they had an extra bed which is nice. The bathroom is small as well but clean. We saw a cockroach outside of our room. The lobby and breakfast is okay. The staff are friendly and nice. No complains. If you are on a budget then this is your place.

Paying a bit extra and getting a room with a balcony made for a pleasant stay. The room was large and had everything I needed. Staff were friendly and very helpful.The only thing thing I didn't like was the pool.Unfortunately, they had limited space to put a pool and getting to the chairs felt very precarious. There was no room around the pool and slippery tiles. It didn't feel very safe, also a lot of chlorine.

This is an ultra modern, well run hotel with friendly staff, the star of the hotel is NUM, from meeting and greeting at breakfast to cleaning the rooms on the 2nd floor, my room included! He was so friendly and helpful and did a fantastic job in cleaning my room, nothing too much trouble for NUM , he and the rest of the team made us feel welcome, my room was clean but small , breakfast was good , can buy beer and soft drinks in reception which is good , stayed for 4 nights, 1st time in Chang mai but not my last , I will definitely stay again at sleep mai , highly recommended, thank you again to NUM and the helpful staff at sleep mai

Great little hotel

The hotel was off the main street, so it was quiet, yet it was walking distance to a lot. The hotel was clean and modern, and our rooms were as well. It was a small, cozy hotel that reminded me of the small modern New York hotels. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet was always delicious and varied. The pool is quite small, but a great place to cool off. My son and I were very happy with our stay here.

Had a good three (3) days stay here at Sleep Mai.

The room was comfortable, clean and all your basic needs for a good nights' rest. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most , if not all, of them could communicate with basic English, a plus point for us that cannot speak Thai.

They try their very best to attend to your needs. I appreciate that very much.

The location of the hotel makes it easy to reach most night markets, sight-seeing by foot. Getting a private hire was relative easy. Just have to take note that the entrance to the hotel is in an ally, so some bigger private hires might not be able to drive you to the door step (which wasn't an issue for me).

I would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - I was worried about the small windows but there was still plenty of natural light in our room! The hotel was clean which is always my biggest concern and we didn’t have any problems with bugs or anything! We enjoyed our evenings at the pool even though it closes at 8 and the hotel is in a great location next to the canal! We really liked our stay here!

Great place, great staff, excellent shower and bed. Breakfast was ok, wait for the Phad Thai. Pretty quiet. Pool was right on the street and pretty small, we didn’t use it. The location is fantastic for exploring, but difficult for car service to find, as it’s in an alley off a busy road. Best to choose a nearby landmark or business and get picked up there. I would use them again.

What a great little hotel! We stayed for 5 days over new year and watched lanterns and fireworks from our balcony as it was located right near the main celebrations. Interconnecting room was perfect for travelling with two kids age 12 and 13. Staff were lovely and breakfast buffet was included each morning. Great location but still relatively quiet. Would choose this place again for sure. My son also accidentally left his reading glasses behind and staff have been so responsive and helpful getting them to DHL for return!
