We didn't hate it, but the rooms lacked warmth - felt a bit like a hotel prison. It was older than it looked in the pictures and not super clean. The beds were pretty hard (we typically prefer firm beds but this was hard). The pools is actually accross the street and theres only 4 chairs, so limited seating, but it wasnt busy when we were there. We stayed in toher similar priced places for much better in my opinion.

Couldn't be happier. Hotel staff are very nice and sweet, represent Chiang Mai very well.
Good location with amazing night market 10 min walk. Room was very clean and spacious, we ordered a massive food delivery and ate comfortably! Bathroom was very nice and updated also. Mandala house will be booked again for my next Chiang Mai visit :)

The people were very nice, but the property was run down, the beds were hard and old. Old mattresses in the hall-wall, not well lite, ashtray on all the tables. You either had hot or cold water.

Plus side, good location, very nice people. Could be a great property if it was maintained and cleaned up.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was big, with a nice bathroom. Everything was clean. There was a balcony with a table and two chairs. The air condition worked great, as well as the TV, which has many channels. The room had a bar size fridge, a nice, hot shower and a big bathtub. There is also an nice, clean swimming pool.
Excellent value for the money. It is also in a very convenient location, within walking distance to Loi Khroh, Night Bazaar, as well as the moat and old city.

Avoid if you can.

The room itself was OK, however, there was no outer window. There was 1 window which led into the corridor so there was no privacy when drawing the curtains, so we kept it shut. The bed was reasonably comfortable.

The bathroom had lots of mold on the ceiling, which looks like it could have been easily removed but it seems that there is a theme of avoiding crucial maintenance in this hotel. The sink also clogged up frequently and for long durations.

The worst part of the hotel was definitely the swimming pool. It was the most digusting pool of water I've ever seen - lots of dirty, oily gunk floating around everywhere and a large brown area at the bottom on one side. The chairs were all dirty as well, and the pool area generally was not maintained at all, so it was very uncomfortable to stay there.

Also, the pool is on the other side of the road and not actually connected to the hotel.

I would strongly advise against staying here, even if you find a good deal.

Would not stay here ever again. You get what you pay for. The bed was not a bed, it just a padded box spring. No mattress, extremely uncomfortable! The shower pressure was very low and the water temperature went from scolding hot to cold every 10 seconds. The light the bathroom kept flickering and would not stay on. Upon check out if you wanted to leave you bags with the hotel they charge you a fee to hold your bags. This hotel is very hard to find because it’s not on a main road and a lot of the taxis and tuk tuks don’t know how to find it. If you are walking to the markets and main raod you will get lost. Also the wifi sucks, it kicks you off after 5 mins. I would highly not recommend staying, but you get what you pay for.

Stayed here for a couple of days whilst I worked out where in Chiang Mai I wanted to spend my time. Set in a nice quiet area, but very handy to the nightlife area of loh Kroi Soi. Some great temples nearby as well as plenty of places to eat and drink. Room was comfortable for a solo traveller which suited me fine, would be fine for a couple as well. Close to night markets which are off Loh Kroi Soi. Would recommend for other travels. I moved around Chiang mai and stayed in 3 different places. Make sure to spend some time in Old Chiang Mai City.

In a quiet Soi away from the traffic and nightlife but an easy walk to the Night Bazaar area. Large rooms but getting a bit dated and in need of basic maintenance. Breakfast not great. Night staff not much English.

I would look elsewhere.

The staff are fine, check in was nice. We had to switch rooms and the second was no better however. There was an ant colony in our room, the bed was like sleeping on a bare box spring, our duvet cover and pillows/cases were stained. Run down hotel. There was a mattress just sitting in the hallway our entire stay. The pool is across the road from the hotel, looks murky and the area smells weird.

This apartment is very hard to find. There is no indication from the main street to lead. If you look at the street address, you can never find it because it's situation inside a spider road network far from the main road. Asked more than 10 people, none knows this name. Took an hour to find. No kettle, no hand towels. Floor towel was from the previous occupants and is never changed. mosquitos everywhere. Set breakfast is included. When asked for a piece of toast more, we have to pay 30 Baht!

Hidden hotel.

The hotel is small, and well hidden on a back street in Chiang Mai. When first arrived, was really nervous to venture out, as it seemed as if we were in a back alley somewhere. Travelling with friends, helped to start the exploring, and it didn't take long to realize we were only a couple of streets away from a great shopping area. And after a few trips down the very narrow streets to the main areas, we became more comfortable with the area. The hotel was small with a nice little breakfast area, and a small pool across the street.
Chiang Mai, is a nice clean city.

This hotel is fine. The beds are very hard--similar to sleeping on the floor. The pillows are super old and flat, and the sheets have seen a better day. There are some basic repairs that need to be done like water damage to ceilings and fillers around windows to prevent mosquitoes from entering. Overall, the staff was very nice and available. The location is good. It just needs a serious update, and is a bit pricey when taking that into consideration. There are comparable places to stay that are below this price point for sure. The pool is nice if you have children, but isn't big enough for an adult to swim. It was a clean place, but needs newer sheets/pillows for sure.

Ok stay, value for money but mainly due to great breakfast, room large but average facilities. Shower lousy as onlyy warm and no pressure. Cleaning not good, sheets not replaced over 5nights, balcony remained dirty, location close to markets and very quiet, if not a bit hard to locate at first, night staff great and smiling, overall ok but dont expect 5 star, oits 3 at best.

ive stayed at mandala house many times and always look to stay here when in chiangmai,ive stayed in both the new and old parts of the hotel and while the new is better the old is fine especially the larger rooms.The beakfast is good with a choice of western and thia,the staff are welcoming and helpful but dont fuss over you which i prefer.The pool is across the road from the hotel and always very quite.The hotel is in a great location and easy walking distance to most attractions.Overall a good place to stay for a good price.

The bed was unfortunately to hard, not all sockets worked well and the water pressure was not good.
The personal was very helpful and every time very sweet and nice. Location wise it was very well placed, quiet but central enough to reach everything on foot. The pool is small and don't get sun all day, so it will be a little cold, but nice enough to chill.

ターペー門やナイトバザールまでは徒歩10分程度。一番近いセブンまでは徒歩5分程度。ロッジ周辺の環境は静かですが、ターペー通りやロイ・クローン通りまででる際、夜の一人歩きは慎重に。
フロントスタッフは皆さんフレンドリーで好感持てます。C国系のロッジなので、宿泊客が時にはうるさいかめ知れませんが、神経質な方は少し嫌かも。
全室禁煙で、愛煙家の方はフロント前のスペースで喫煙されてます。

Overordnet var hotellet okay, der var bare ikke noget at komme efter som var godt. Servicen var der næsten ikke, kun da vi skulle have kufferne op på værelserne. Ud over dette er deres pool på den anden side og meget mindre end der vises på billederne. Der var intet roomservice da vi boede der, jeg ved dog ikke om de har specielle regler angående dette siden vi ikke fik noget. Sidst var hele hotellet åben så myggene kunne nemt komme ind på værelserne hvilket var nederen, og der var ingen myggefælde på værelset.

建物は古いが、お部屋は広々していて、木のインテリアが素敵。清掃も行き届いていて、滞在中不自由無く過ごすことができました。場所も、大きな通りから少し入った所にあるので、静かです。そして、ナイトバザール方面にもターペー方面にも、少し歩けば出られるという、便利な立地。
ホテルの方も、片言英語でもゼスチャーでもすぐに分かってくれて、助かりました。
長く滞在するのに、コスパも良く１人旅にちょうどいい、ホテルだと思いました。

Gute Lage, sehr unterschiedliche Zimmerkategorien.

Hatte eines der günstigen Zimmer, dessen Fenster nur zum Treppenhaus ging, was in der Beschreibung mir so nicht ersichtlich war, das fand ich ärgerlich.
(Die Zimmer mit Balkon im neuen Teil des Hauses sahen eher schick aus).
Gut gelegen, ruhig aber vieles in Laufnähe.
Pool eher klein und flach, zum schwimmen kaum geeignet aber für eine Erfrischung reicht es.

Perfekt boende för oss då vi letade något billigt och bra läge. För oss saknades egentligen ingenting. Vi fick ett väldigt stort rum, med liten balkong vilket var mysigt! Det fanns även en liten pool några meter iväg, den var dock lite kall haha!

Vill man hitta saker att klaga på så går det, så som renlighet och att vissa saker inte satt fast som dom skulle, Men för oss var det jättebra!

När vi ville på matlagningskurs så hjälpte personalen oss att boka och fixade även till billigare pris!

Boendet ligger också perfekt! Nära till massa nattmarknader och butiker osv. BOKA!!!

Nice Place and friendly staff. Fine rooms, clean and tidy. Nothing extra, but everything you need.
The bed in our room is bad. Hard, you feel the metal springs through the mattress and there has been “laid holes” in both sides of the bed.
We hadn’t been able to find the pool for two days, until we found it across the street.

je suis retourné dans cet hotel quelques jours après etre resté a hua hin 1 semaine!! et... alors que j avais demandé a rester j usqua 5 pm le samedi avant d aller a l aeroport !!! et que la dame a la reception avait donné son accord!! pour payer half price!! j ai dut passer par hotel.com pour payer une nuit celle de samedi soir!!! juste pour rester 4 h de plus!!! jamais vu ca depuis .. 25 ans de voyage!! de plus.. alors que j avais demandé a la reception d etre réveillé a 4h30 am.. mon tel de chambre était HS... j ai demandé au veilleur de nuit de venir me reveiller ! la chambre etant située juste a coté du lobby! mais.. je me suis reveillé seul et grande surprise!!! le veilleur dormait comme un enfant!!!!! il a sussauté en ù ma presence! et ne se souvenait plus de moi!! alors que la veil... cet meme personne a ecrit mon nom et numero chambre avec l horaire!!! chambre sale tout comme la premiere louée dans cet meme hotel fin octobre!!!! a eviter!!!!!!

Chambre très petite et le lit très mal situé m’a occasionné deux blessures à la jambe dont une plus sérieuse !! 8 jours de soins ! Cerise sur le gâteau.le lit s’est effondré en pleine nuit ! Nuit blanche !!! Ménage pas fait ou si peu que nous le faisions nous meme surtout toilet poussière jamais faites fourmis parout ! J’en passe et des meilleurs !! Je vais demander à être remboursé en partie des nuits passées dans cette chambre !!!! Horrible !!
