No elevator. Crowded and cluttered common areas. Slow wifi. No AC, only fan in room 209. Tight and absolutely filthy. I put my hand on the bed to get a feel for the bed and I felt gravel/sand. I wanted to plan ahead by asking about breakfast and self check in. I was asked to wait and that made it difficult for me to make others plan or to simply plan ahead. I was kept waiting for self check in at midnight. Old stale smell in common areas, lobby, room, etc. Staff are either absent or unapproachable. Did not receive a guide to navigating the hostel so I had to ask, \"Is there breakfast? Where is the first floor kitchen?\" Eventually, I just started to figure it out myself. Not a community vibe in this hostel or area. Very cold and standoffish personalities. Most people here are odd. Unable to look up or say hi while in the same kitchen or hallway or staircase, weird. I'll say hello to acknowledge them and they look me dead in the eyes, stay silent, and look away..??? Would not recommend this hostel unless you are desperate.

We did not check in at this location. The rooms were noticably dirty and smelly. Insects were visible and sheets were stained. An alternative room had similar problems with smells and cleanliness. Hotel management continues to be evasive and has not responded to Expedia requests for a refund. Will be escalating my complaints.

Do not stay here

I am appalled that this property remains open and is even an option for anyone to stay in. To begin with, there were no staff to help us check in or out despite assurances to a 24 hour desk. They lost our booking and insisted it did not exist and forced us to wait in the middle the night despite the booking being confirmed and accurate. When we were finally given a room it was so filthy that we left within 20 minutes and were forced to book a more expensive hotel. Bugs crawling over the floor, clearly unwashed sheets that were strained and had hairs on them, mould on the walls and ceiling fan. There’s budget travel and then there’s this. You don’t get what you pay for. You receive a health hazard. When we left, there was no one at the desk to help us check out and the front door was left wide open.

Very nice for the cost! Inexpensive place to sleep and leave my bags in a central area it was easy to see so much of Seoul. The place was quiet and nothing was too dirty. Would absolutely stay here again!

First, this hotel is hard to find even if you have Google Maps. Then, there is often no front desk staff. Then it is DIRTY. I am actually concerned about whether this place meets fire codes.

Here was my big problem: the wifi died in my room. I was told by a staff member that I just had to accept that - people in another room had possibly done something to the router.

Because I need wifi for work, I rebooked to another hostel. I expected Hostel Korea to return my fees for the days I did not stay there. They promised wifi, I was told I could not have it, and I had to find a place where I could do work.

First a guy agreed in writing to refund my fees, then he refused to pay me. It was crazy. Poor moody guy.

So I am assuming that if a person has trouble here, the person will not be helped and if he/she leaves to find a more responsible hostel, the person will not receive a refund even if the owner/manager initially agrees.

Furthermore, Expedia will do nothing to help you. So this is it for Expedia. I'll use another service.

I know this hostel is cheap and many of us are on a budget, but I do not think it would be wise to go into a dirty place where they may just not help you and you will feel forced to move anyway.

Tyere is a really nice hostel called Sunrise Inn Dongdaemun very close by. They will treat you with respect there and it is CLEAN.

Cheap place to stay. They didn't have the double bed we reserved so put in a twin room. Hot rooms no A/C. Toilets and shower are in the same small room so needs cleaning frequently which does not seem to happen. Kitchen is alright nothing special. Found used floss sticks on the desk upon entry to the room as well which questioned the cleanliness. Good location, close to metro and markets.

Honestly, I don't even know if this place breaches and safety violations seeing how filthy it is. The filth is very evident in all the molds on the wall/floor/bedsheet/furniture/bathroom and stench. I understand that this is a budget hostel but it's very rundown and I was questioning the whole time if this place can pass living condition inspections. I wouldn't recommend this place. Either find somewhere else or top up a bit of money and get a cheap hotel.

The area that this Hostel is located in is very convenient. You are close to Dangdaemun Shopping mall, Dongmyo Station, Imperial Palace, local food shops, and much more. Beds are comfortable and overall clean. Bathrooms are a little sketchy, but this place is such a great deal! So cheap. Highly recommend for anyone staying a week or less or just looking to save a lot of money. Helpful and nice service as well!

On the most part it was clean and the bedroom was good. We went to check in from 1 pm as hotels.com said but they said this was wrong and it's from 3pm so we had to wait over an hour in their cold outdoor common area. The shower and toilet is also one room which was very strange and not a good arrangement for use. The shared kitchen area was small and dirty.

Great hostel for the price

Friendly and helpful staff, room was rather small but was as expected for a hostel. I would recommend it for students or anyone else on a budget to give it a try. Way better than most other hostels I have lived in across Asia.

Great location

The hostel is very near between 2 subway stations (Dongmyo & Sinseoldong) so it gave me more flexibility in taking public transport. Just beware that there is another Hostel Korea nearby (it is tricky to find the place at first). Overall I had a pleasant stay.

I want to say thanks to the staff in the hostel (especially the guy here). I am surprised by how he provided excellent service and assistance for me. I arrived the hostel very late at night and asked for food recommendation, instead of just tell me the direction, he showed me the way himself and even helped me order for food. He also helped me to book the ferry ticket online (which the website is totally in Korean).

Cheap Hostel for travelers to stay.

Over all, it was a good place to stay. However, the condition of the hostel wasn't meeting my expectations. AC was controlled by the staffs and they turn it off from morning till 5pm.(It is extreamly humid and hot during summer in Korea) The bathrooms were too humid due to poor ventilation.

Cheap with good location, but it worse than before

Relative low room rate and it has good location. You can walk to Dongdaemun Market in 15 mins.
I stayed this hostel in 2014 and come back again in 2016. To compare with that in 2014, the hostel facilities and services made me disappointing this year. The water tap and sink in kitchen are out of order. It seems that the hostel has no intention to fix them. I have stayed here for 6 days but they are still be out of order when I left. In 2014, hostel provided clean towels and rice but it has no longer to provide them.
Anyway, as the room rate is relatively cheap with good location, you cannot ask for more.

Lovely place to stay at!

Super friendly staff who aided us in booking of tickets for JUMP! Performance, and assisted us in getting more information and trying to help us in all the ways possible! They allowed us to store our luggage with them when we reached before check-in time and they locked the luggages up in a room where there was minimal movement! Overall a super good environment to stay in and I would love to come back here again!

Nice place and good location

I stayed there for a week and it was a really enjoyable time. My room was cool all the time due to the AC which was great during the summer heat, and it came with a fan for when the AC was off. It was just the right size and was perfectly comfortable.
There was a free washing machine, also good for when you sweat into your clothes. The wifi connection was great and the location was near two metro stations so it was really easy to get about Seoul.
Only downside was there was only two bathrooms between around 17 rooms so like 20 people on my floor, and they could get quite messy throughout the day, but never to a standard that was unusable. Although sometimes the toilet paper would run out and didn't get filled up quick enough. but overall great place and would definitely stay again!

We had a great time in Korea. Food was such an experience. The night market areas are really busy & the subway too. We had a lot of fun going to the places like Everland, Lotte World, The big Palace, N Seoul Tower...and more... We will be back during the winter aeason...

フロントに誰もいない、外出中なのでLINEやWHATSAPPで名前を送れとあるが送っても何の返事もないので電話したら2回とも途中で切れた。部屋番号だけLINEで来たが鍵がもらえないと意味ない。もうひとり韓国の人も困って電話していた。20分くらいして？やっと「ごめん」と言ってフロント係（電話の声で予想したように韓国人に見えない男性）が来たらチェックイン機械（使えない）のボックスからカードキーを渡されてようやく部屋に入れた。
場所は一号線東大門からふたつめで悪くないしホテル高価な週末で8000円台もしかたないがチェックインできないなんてあんまりだ。
酷暑の日なので部屋に冷蔵庫欲しかった（逆に強すぎるエアコン止められなかった）　トイレがシャワー室兼ねるので水浸しで気持ち悪かった。

また電子レンジやお湯をもらう程度なら問題ないですが、調理器具がIHで使い方が判らず、使い方の表示も欲しいです。
駅・スーパーに近く、散策がてら東大門まで歩ける距離と立地はいいので、宿は寝るだけと割り切る節約志向派ならお勧めします

価格と、交通の便を考えるとかなり良かったです。地下鉄も近いですが、なによりバス停が近く、本数も多く、ソウルのほとんどの地域に1本で行くことが出来ます。空港リムジンバスも来ます。

他のクチコミ通り、水周りは共用かつ古いのもあり、気になりますが、数日なら我慢できるかと。わたしはリピートありです。

部屋に冷蔵庫もあり、テレビもあります。(210号室はテレビがつきませんでしたが)

飛行機が遅延して翌日の朝になりました。事前にメール連絡はしましたが、フロントには誰もいなく電話かLINE どちらかして下さいとの事でしたが、どちらもつながりませんでした。30分後には、こられ翻訳機でチェックインをしたい事を伝えてもイライラする態度の悪さで嫌な気分になりました。チェックイン方法をもう少し考えて欲しいですね。他の方の口コミのようにあまり綺麗ではありませんが、値段相応だと思いました。タオルは、1階で自分で交換ができ、朝は、コーヒーとパンがありました。

11月に行ったが寝てる間半分の確率でかにさされる。あとお風呂とトイレがほぼ同じなのでシャワーするとトイレが濡れる。けれど立地はいいし安いし、寝るだけだと十分。期待しすぎない方がいいが値段の割には十分。布団も綺麗。

Schimmelbefallendes Bad, muffige Bettwäsche und Handtücher, man musste sich mit fremden Personen Pantoffeln teilen, in meinem Zimmer gab es kaum WLAN-Empfang, das Personal an der Rezeption war freundlich, Lage der Unterkunft ist szper doch die Einrichtung und die Hygienebedingungen sind widerlichen, die Bilder der Einrichtung müssen bei Eröffnung gemacht worden sein

il y a plusieurs établissements sous la même enseigne et celui-ci n'a pas été rénové. L'endroit etait sale, sentait mauvais à cause des mélanges d'odeurs des restaurants et la chambre était délabrée. Heureusement la personne a l'accueil a pu changer ma réservation et j'ai pu passer le reste de mon séjour dans une chambre passable ( car là aussi, problème de moisissures et d' évacuation d'eau dans la sdb, évier bouché, odeur forte).

La propiedad está en pésimo estado e igual que las habitaciones y baños. Los baños apestan y parece que no los limpian. Lo que tiene de aire acondicionado ni se siente y apenas enciende como en tres ocasiones durante la noche. Acceso es malísimo y el personal ni se ve por ningún lado.

신설동이라 위치가 애매하지만 역에서 가까운 편
욕실이 있는 방이었지만 세면대와 변기만 간신히 욱여넣은 사이즈라 샤워는 거의 불가능
청소 관리를 별로 안하는거 같은데 입구에서 실내화로 갈아신고 들어가야하는 규정은 왜 있는지.. 가격이 싸서 납득했던 숙소

우선 매우 저렴하다는 점이 가장 중요합니다.
저희가 방문했을 때 누수때문에 다른 숙소에서 자게 되었습니다. 다른 숙소는 리뉴얼 중이라 공사중인 부분이 많다는 점을 고려하면 문제될 것이 없는 숙소였습니다.
오히려 매우 저렴하게 자는데, 침대가 정말 푹신해서 좋았습니다. 청결은 기본적인 상태이며 조금 어수선해보이는 것 외에는 괜찮았습니다.
주차가 조금 불편하였으나 잘 해결하고 주차하였습니다.
