Compared to other places we stayed in in Seoul, it was so spacious. Great breakfast included. The one day the buffet was closed the hotel provided delicious sandwiches instead from the coffee shop on the main floor. We were able to relax and enjoy our stay.

We stayed five nights in this hotel. Our room was a comfortable size with a table and two chairs that made it easy to 'eat in' if we chose. The room also had a washing machine, with washing powder, that we made good use of.
The hotel is located close to the Daejeon metro and busses are just around the corner, lots of places for coffee and dining.
We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay there again.

Loved this place. It was cozy and quiet. Lot's to do in the area within walking distance. The staff was helpful and spoke English :) so I was grateful cause I know some Korean but I get anxiety when it's time to speak it. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Floor was clean as well as the linen. Really good for a few days stay.

A Pleasant Stay Near City Hall

I love the location. The twin residence suite has decent amenties. This particular room had issues with electrical outlets. But I could make due for may short trip. Very spacious with lots of natural light.

Fantastic place

Hotel Graytone was amazing! The room itself included everything that I needed, laundry, tv, aircon/heating system, stove and microwave. It was unbelievable. Also the hotel is located in central daejeon, its only a 5 minute walk away from all the nightlife/major shopping areas, but just around the corner is plenty of cafes, convenience stores and restaurants.

Don't expect western comforts.

For Western travelers and their expectations of a western style Hotel, Hotel Graytone misses the mark. While an Asian traveler may enjoy the extremly firm bed, the western traveler will find these beds more akin to sleeping on the floor or concrete. Although clean and orderly, the room is very small for the comfort of two people. The rooms are set up to be self supportive; meaning each room has it's own (in floor) heat, water heater, clothes washer, a small kitchette. The temperature of the room is slow to adjust, in either direction, due to the in-floor heating system. The shower has no door, so water tends to go places where you don't want it and if more than one person is showering, a wait of 20 minutes is necessary to let the water heater recover. For a \"non-smoking\" room, the presence of active cigarette smoking from adjacent rooms was obvious. Not a hotel I would choose again.

Simple and Comfortable stay

I visited my friends in Daejeon and was looking for a room for a night. I was satisfied with the room I stayed regarding to the price. Also, it was close to the subway station. (This would be good for travelers!)

You can expect:
- a coffee shop and a convenience store on the first floor.
- late checkin: I went there around 10pm but there was no problem to check in.
- everything needed for one-night stay (e.g. tooth brush, tooth paste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, disposable razor, 1 bath towel, 2 facial towels, etc.)
- a neat room for a person.
- a pair of thick curtain on window.

You don't expect:
- a great view: the window was pretty close to the building next to the hotel.

Good Option for Relatively Inexpensive Stay

I think that the Graytone is a good alternative for travelers looking for a clean and relatively inexpensive option near/around local attractions in Daejeon (Dunsan area). The Graytone is conveniently situated near many restaurants (Korean and Western fastfood, Subway, KFC, Burger King, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, etc); and the Galleria, Homeplus, Movie Theaters are in a 10-15 minute walking distance. The nearest Metro station (City Hall) is about a 2 minute walk away from the Hotel. Many reviewers comment on how clean the Hotel rooms are, and I would agree for the most part. However, the rooms tend to have a musky smell and the bedding/linen, while clean, needs an upgrade (the times I've stayed in the Hotel all of the bedding/towels were torn/tattered). Also, the central heating is TOO high. You can open the windows, but traffic on the street make it difficult to sleep. Additionally, in keeping with what most people said about this Hotel, the beds are quite hard. Soundproofing is also definitely lacking. You can hear all the bumps and other guests moving their chairs across the floors. Some of the Hotel staff seem somewhat friendly, but it feels that they do not go out of their way to help you beyond check in. In fact, if you ask too many questions (whether over the phone or in person), they seem to get annoyed or bothered. I think this is one area that could improve their front desk image and add to their motto about being your \"home away from home\".

Urban hotel with sounds from the country

My garden suite room on the top floor didn't match the photo. Two thirds of the floor space is a rooftop garden. My kids would have loved it, but was traveling alone and with temps around 50F, it was not very useable. The room also provided authentic sounds of the country - someone nearby was keeping roosters and, even with the windows closed, their crowing could be heard starting around 3 AM each morning. Friends on lower floors could not hear them. Room was very clean and pleasant. Just note that \"bathroom\" button on wall-mounted light switch panel turns on and off hot water heater, not bathroom lights. Endured a cold shower before I figured that one out.

Expensive \"business\" hotel from hell.

We got a double luxury room, the second most expensive. Wall outlet near bed was broken out, wire exposed fire and safety risk. No one reported or fixed it. 3 trash cans, two of them full of very gross items, beds were hard, cheap sheets. Worst part is that many soccer teams now stay here so we had a family upstairs dragging furniture around and kids running at 1am. Only other room available was one that was above them instead of under. So at 1:00 in the morning I had to walk out of the hotel, no refund, get a cab, and pay full price to stay a few hours in another hotel (Lotte). The staff apologized but would not offer any refund, and said normally it is just business people but many foreign families recently visiting Korea. For this price I am not disappointed, I am very upset.

My wife and I booked this hotel after reviewing the photographs and reading generally positive guest comments.

Contrary to what were said, we did not have a good experience at all. In fact, we did an early check-out as we could not bear to stay in there for a week.

First and foremost, the room was definitely not 36 sq metres, as mentioned in the website. It is crammed and far from clean. The bathroom in particular is poorly designed as the floor will be wet after each shower. And yet, the hotel does not even provide a bathroom floor mat. The bidet did not work. The toilet roll holder affixed to the wall was damaged and literally “falling off” and no one bothered to fix it throughout our stay. The staff just put a new toilet roll on the obviously damaged holder each time.

The service provided at the front desk was equally lacking. For example, when we asked whether there is any bathroom floor mat, the answer was just a simple “No, we do not have” - No more, no less, no smile, no attempt to help any further. We hardly see the staff smile and greet the guests.

Overall, it is a hotel that we will not return to. We will not recommend it either. For the same room rate, there are better options.

There are numerous restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, nice park next to city hall--great for letting the kids run about.
I was favorably impressed with this hotel and would definitely return, and highly recommend it. Great location, facility and value.

Enjoyable stay at Graytone!

This was our first visit to the beautiful city of Daejeon for a truly international wedding in late December. Graytone was centrally located and near a subway stop. There is an onsite 7-11 which proved helpful on our first night when we arrived very late and got the midnight munchies. And in the mornings, the adorably named \"Honey Bee\" cafe served both Korean (delicious!) and Western breakfasts complimentarily. The cafe is accessible internally from the hotel lobby, which means shelter from the winter cold in the mornings. There are many restaurants and convenience stores within a 3-5 minute walk radius, and the amazing Galleria department store is only a 15-minute walk.

The staff at Graytone were professional and helpful. They can assist you in English. They will also lend you a wall adaptor for your North American chargers for a 10,000 won safety deposit.

We loved the heated floors in our room! We also liked that we could open our windows for fresh air in the mornings. Because the room is Korean style, we removed our shoes at the door and put them in the shoe cabinet (cool), and used the slippers that the hotel provided. Each room has its own door bell which makes it feel like a home ;) We are definitely staying here again when next we visit Daejeon to see the new Korean friends we had made during the wedding!

Convenient/complete option for stay in Daejeon

Nicely located with stores and restaurants nearby. Small room, but has more or less full kitchen, including fridge/freezer, glass cooktop with hood, pots and pans, some dishes and utencils, electric hotwater kettle, microwave. Clothes washing machine in room.
Bed hard but I found it comfortable. two kinds of slippers in room. good bath with lots of liquid soap and shampoo. Every day you get a kit with toothbrushes, toothpaste, q tips, soap bar, etc. Every day they provide instrant coffee and green tea and two bottles of water in the fridge. Bathroom with good shower and electric heated and spray function toilet.
Room nicely cleaned and madeup daily.
Good breakfast with western and Korean options, including eggs, sometimes scrambled and sometimes boiled, toast, juice, coffee, milk, cheese slices, some canned fruit, and Korean options, including lettuce salad and sushi, etc.
Take along a Korean version of the hotel name and address for taxi.
staff knows enough English to help you out and provides minimaps to help you find things
Near the Government complex bus station - convenient to get to the city from Seoul airport.

Hotel Graystone-Dunsan

Boyfriend and I visited Daejeon for a weekend and originally chose Hotel Graystone because of its location. I was very pleased to find the hotel had much more to offer than a convenient location.The hotel was very clean even by my OCD/type-A standards. There was a nice plasma mounted on the wall with an assortment of channels including English-movie channels. The room was quaint in size but more than sufficient for a quick overnight trip. I would highly recommend this hotel for those travelling to Daejeon. It is about 7 subway stops away from Daejeon Station. Very accessible and easy to find!

Great Value if you like hard beds and small rooms

People were friendly, free but limited breakfast, free and good internet. Bed was like a rock, pillows like marshmallows. Rooms were very, very small but well equipped with fridge, freezer, cooktop, washing/drying machine, TV, AC, etc. However it needs more space, total of less than 150sqft. Bathroom door hits toilet, shower doesn't have a closing door so water gets all over floor. Entry smelled like cigarettes in non smoking room. Nothing written in English, but plenty of English TV channels. Great operating shower. No desk. Nice restaurants in same block. Very good value for money, but must be able to survive in this environment.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Dunsan Graytone Hotel just for a night. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is within a short walking distance to Daejeon City Hall Subway Station (Daejeon Line 1). There are restaurants and coffee shops nearby. If I was to stay in Daejeon, I would stay here again!

조식 그럴거면 없는것이 좋을듯 외국인들도 많은데 내가 외국인들 보기 창피할 정도 삼겹살 파는 호텔건물 2층에 마련된 식당은 좀 그랬고 체크인은 신속 하게 키오스크로 해결 주차도 매우 편리 했으며 지하철이 가깝고 주변 환경 편의점 커피숍 식당등이 많아 훌륭함 조용하고 잘 쉬었다 가지만 조식 서비스는 좀 손봐야 할듯 합니다

평점보고 갔었는데

3시쯤 일찍 입실했고 배정받은 객실의 창을 열면 약 1미터앞에 앞 건물이 있고 더군다나 엎 건물의 공조기 실외기가 바로 앞에 있어 웅웅거리는 소음이 심해 교체를 요청했는데, 남는 객실이 없다면서 좀더 알아보겠다고 하고는 아무런 피드백이 없었습니다.. 숙박앱으로 할인받아 그런건가 하는 의심을 품어봤습니다. 소문듣고 찾아갔었는데 글쎄 제 경험은 별루 였었습니다.

長期滞在にはよい部屋だと思います。改善するとすれば、以下の部分を挙げたいと思います。①シャワーブースは扉かカーテンが閉まれば、もう少し気持ちよくシャワーできるかもしれません。トイレと続いた部屋なので、シャワーを浴びるとトイレの床が濡れてしまうのが問題です。②洗濯機があり、洗剤も置いてあってありがたいのですが、乾燥機は付いておらず、あるいは洗濯物を干す場所も確保されていないので、結局洗濯はしませんでした。③テレビは電源が入りませんでした。いずれも大きな問題ではなかったと思います。ありがとうございました。

벽지 곳곳에 뜯긴 자국들 너무 빈티나보여요.ㅠ 도배 좀 하시면서 영업 하세요.
로비만 시원하고 각 객실은 더운 편이었네요.

문 열자마자 불괘한 냄새가 나고 LED등은 깜박거리며 에어컨은 왜 그리 시끄러운지 관리가 전혀 안된 호텔이다.
조식은 왠 횟집에서 자리도 많지 안아 줄을 서서 기다려야 함.

청결한거 문제없고 직원서비스는 나쁘지 않았고 대전에서 서구면 인프라문제 당연히 없으며 위치가 대전시청역 옆이라 위치도 좋음 문제는 시설이 애매함... 조식은 정말 해당가격대로는 안나쁘지만 호텔이라 부르기엔 아쉬운점이 한두군데가 아니었는데 우선 방음이 아쉬웠고 다음으로는 창문위치가 옆건물뷰라서 친구랑 생각없이 놀겠다고 트윈룸 잡을거면 차라리 돈주고 다른곳 가던가 아니면 조용한방 달라고 다른 숙박업소 권하겠음.;;
