This is a sweet hotel on a fairly busy street. Hotel Stendahl has taken every reasonable step to mitigate road noise through having well insulated windows and interior shutters. I was in a street-facing room. I am not sensitive to the sounds of the city but someone who is sensitive might request a room away from the street.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in every possible manner. The room was immaculate, well decorated, and matched the website description. It is a European hotel, so the size was reasonable but not large.

The included breakfast was very nice and included pastries, fresh eggs, and fresh fruit. There were plenty of options. The cappuccino that I ordered each morning was perfectly prepared and was a real treat.

Well situated for walking to all the major sites. Well appointed, clean and staff were lovely. Bedrooms are comfy and nicely set out.
Couple of slight downsides. Downstairs area is to small for breakfast with small tables and makshift serving area on the bar. People stood around waiting for a table to become free.
On the whole I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Wife was feeling ill and they allowed us to check in at noon which is really appreciated. The room is in their next renovated building. Bathroom is brand new. Their free breakfast buffet is so good that they could easily charge $20 per person.

Walking distance to all major attractions. Breakfast was surprisingly generous and staff very friendly.
The down side is the street facing rooms are very very noisy from the traffic, I had ear plugs and background noise app on my phone. Also there is no valet parking as per Expedia, you need to drive yourself to a garage in the area

Room we got was extremely small. There wasn’t even enough room to open up two luggages. Our room had a standup shower and there was barely enough room for one person, extremely uncomfortable.

The Elevator unfortunately was out of service for the duration of our stay, so having to climb 4 flights made the stay a bit more inconvenient. The hotel did help us with luggage nevertheless.

We had a very nice one-week stay. The location was amazing but if you're in the front, 01, 02, 03, be ready for a bit of noise. The building is well insolated for sound, however Tritone is a very busy street. Staff were friendly and courteous, especially the woman that took care of our room. The daily breakfast buffet was a great convenience. Most major sites are within a twenty-minute walk. Would recommend this hotel.

Disappointing. Not a 4 star in my opinion. Very noisy road with traffic noise all night. Our Superior Rooms were overlooking the road. We were told that there weren't any quieter rooms. I think the standard, tiny rooms are mostly at the back of the hotel. Smallish rooms. Had to ask for cups to go with our kettle and tea/coffee tray which was odd. Had to ask for dressing gowns even though our type of room is advertised as having dressing gowns. Hotel seemed very clean. Lots of plastic which isn't good like plastic wrappers around soap and disposable plastic squishy cups in bathroom. Very thin towels. Not a bad location to get around. 10 mins to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Lots of restaurants on lane that leads to Trevi Fountain. The restaurants closer to the hotel didn't look very nice. Metro stop 3 minutes walk from hotel. Breakfast was ok. It was included in our rate. I wouldn't pay extra for it. I wouldn't recommend it purely for the noise.

Absolutely BEAUTY!!!! Perfect room (comfort) was well laid out and very cozy. Bed was very comfortable, washroom was large and shower is amazing. Walking distance to all the sites in Rome, Trevi just down the road with loads of restaurants. The staff at the front desk are excellent and guided us to where we wanted to walk. The breakfast is the morning is really good

My family just stayed here, it’s a clean modern hotel so close to the Trevi fountain and other tourist areas. The staff and service was great overall, the only disadvantage was that we paid for bed and breakfast, the ‘free’ breakfast was quite small and lacking, and the tables weren’t big enough to hold all our food for a family of four. Everything else was perfect but breakfast could be improved.

The front person would not help us with an european modificator to charge our phones. The elevator broke so we had to use stairs, with bags and luggage. Hotel bathroom was not clean enough, kind of older hotel, small but very walkable to everywhere, shops, fontana de trevi and restaurants.

The location has great walkability to the metro, multiple spots for sightseeing, and restaurants. My only recommendation is for the front desk staff to provide general hotel information upon check-in such as: the times breakfast is offered, if room service is or isn't available (it wasn't available when I arrived although it is listed as a service for this hotel), if / when the bar is open, etc.

Old school hospitality is the best description of Hotel Stendhal. We had a lovely room, excellent breakfast and were served by gracious and helpful staff. It certainly didn’t hurt that we were one block from the Metro and in the middle of the old city within walking distance of many of the most popular sights. If we are lucky enough to return to Rome we would certainly stay here again.

A classic gem!

A gem in the middle of Rome’s historic district, walking distance to most sights, restaurants, stores. Staff were most helpful, professional and spoke fluent English.
The is a classic, small boutique hotel, beautifully decorated - from marble floors to wall paper, quality furnishings and immaculately maintained. It has an on-site restaurant and bar, as well as a elevator. There is so many thoughtful touches. Our bathroom had deep marble bath, with hand sprayer, and shower head - great for soaking after a long day of sightseeing. We got a queen size room, while compact was adequate due to the well designed layout. The classic deco was charming and lovely, great mattress, double-panels windows to block the city’s sounds. I could go on and on...this will be my home base when in Rome.

I have stayed in many hotels in Rome over the years and this was my first time staying here and will now be my go to hotel while staying in Rome. The service, the cleanliness and the location were all excellent. I stayed during the hottest time it has ever been in Rome and the AC was superb which can be difficult to find in many places. The bed and pillows were comfortable as well which can also be difficult to find. Slippers and an electric kettle were bonuses! Walking distance to everything. I look forward to staying here again.

Memorable Roman Holiday!

Hotel Stendhal stay was excellent from check-in to check-out. Our first day of stay after a long flight from the USA was great and continued to get better day after day. Our rooms were immaculately cleaned, A/C very cool, showers refreshing and despite being close to the street, quiet enough to nap peacefully during the day.

The hotel staff knew every guests and were always ready with a genuine smile and desire to assist. It was also readily apparent to us that they helped support each other to better serve the guests and make Stendhal standout. A special shoutout to Simona for greeting and feeding us breakfast each day in preparation for a long day of seeing the beauty of Rome. Your beautiful smile and bright outlook was a wonderful start to each day.
Suraj and the rest of the front desk, thank you for the smooth check-in and helpful directions throughout the stay.

My family and I truly enjoyed our Roman holiday at the Hotel Stendhal. We will be returning in 2022 for a cruise and will make sure we return to say Ciao once again.
