We liked:
1. It's a nice hotel in an area with plenty of good restaurants and a short walk to the beaches.
2. Pleasant rooms kept spotlessly clean and well stocked
3. Roof top sun terrace with small pool and good bar service.
The downsides:
1. Wifi seemed to be unavailable throughout the hotel
2. We were told the adjacent road closes at 5pm so made sure we arrived prior to that time. The reality is the road is permanently closed so it's tricky to reach on foot with luggage particularly as parking is at a premium in Nerja
3. The breakfast was the poorest we had on our trip around Southern Spain
Aside from the negatives which were frustrating we did enjoy our stay

Nice hotel and location

The rooms were small, but we had a balcony with a mountain view that made it seem sweet. Without that it would have felt cramped. The breakfast was great, worth paying for it. Location was excellent. Roof pool is small but the view is fantastic.

Lovely Stay in the Heart of Nerja

Wonderful stay in the heart of Nerja. We travelled as a family (parents and two small children) and booked the quadruple room. We requested two double beds but since that wasn't available they put two sets of twin beds together and they were very comfortable and lovely.
The rooms were spic and span and the breakfast was delicious and filling. The staff was phenomenal and everything was in walking distance.

It rained a bit during our stay and we found the pool to be quite cold and the pool area to be a bit small for children. That said, the rooftop pool would be ideal for sunbathing in sunny weather.

Thank you Hotel Cavana, we hope to return some day!

Little Gem

This was our second stay here and it did not disappoint. Everywhere is super clean and the staff go out of their way to help. The reception staff and the ladies that serve the food by the pool are amazing, thank you to them for making our stay special. This was by far the best hotel I stayed in a long time! Super clean, quiet, respectful staff, all the above! Jose Padilla from front desk was very welcoming and helpful! Great hotel centrally located on plaza Cavana but very quiet. We had a room at the back with a Juliette balcony which overlooked another street yet could still sleep with the window opened. The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean and I could find nothing negative to say about this hotel other than I didn’t stay long enough!! Will definitely return.

Very nice hotel in an excellent location--super convenient to several beaches and plazas with dining. Roof area with pool and bar very nice, views off to the ocean. Staff were very helpful and courteous, A for them.

Only complaint--they have parking in the building, but what a pain. Good luck finding it, as Google won't get you there. And you have to go the wrong way down a one-way street a short distance. And a staff member has to help you get in there. They should help by telling you some of this info. Next time I'd just park in the public lot a 5-minute walk away, much easier.

The Balcony of Europe

The hotel is located at a short walking distance from the Balcony of Europe. The area is pedestrian (no car access), but there is a convenient underground parking at the Plaza de Espana around the corner. We had an upstairs room with a terrace with ocean view, away from the street noise, at the roof pool/bar level. There is one steep flight of stairs, but staff helped us with the luggage. The room, including bathroom, was very nice: quite large, very clean, nicely decorated, with plenty of storage space.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, the staff are extremely helpful, pool and rooms spotless. The only issue was that a large group took up ten sunbeds and several each day, which left little for other guests. It didn't pose a problem with us, but it was a little unfair for everyone else.

Excellent hotel right in the centre of Nerja. Staff were very professional and courteous at all times. We had a room which overlooked the square, very clean and spacious, however, a bit noisy in the mornings with the cleaning etc on the square (not the hotels fault). Pool was lovely and clean, however, not many beds due to lack of space on roof.

The staff was absolutely great, in particular the bartender. We had lost a phone (stolen really), and Adonai Ruiz not only went with us to retrieve it after figuring out where it was located, but used some magic words to convince the person to give it up. Pretty unbelievable. In fact, the entire hotel staff were calling police and checking google maps to help us. This is a hotel that really cares for the guests. The owner even showed up, although I do not know if it was for us. BTW, they have a great selection of wines in the bar as well. Super great stay, and the hotel is located in just about the most central place in town. So close to the Balcony of Europe, great restaurants, and beach as well. If we go back to Nerja, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Thanks Adonai!!!

Nice hotel in the heart of Nerja. Just steps from the Balcone de Europa.
Exactly what you can expect from a 3 star hotel.
The air conditioning didn't seem to be working but we didn't make a big deal of it since we were only there two nights. We had a view of the Med over the top of the buildings across the streel. The balcony/french doors looked out into the Plaza, which was a little noisy, as can be expected. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had rented a car which required our pulling the car into the street behind the hotel and squeezing it into a car elevator! The maintenance man ran from the office to assist us. Over all, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Location of the Hotel was amazing. Right in the centre of Nerja close to all the bars and restaurants and the famous Balcon De Europe. Access is a problem as the cetre is pedestrian from midday. So it is very dificult to successfully use the Hotel Car Park. However a tourist pass for the main car park is good value and allows access throughout the day & night. Rooms are clean & tidy and the rooftop pool is very good.

A basic hotel priced in line with others in the area. You have to pay a €5 deposit for pool towels and the bed / bedding wasn’t as comfortable as we’d hoped. There was also a loud bell ringing noise right by our room which kept us up. I wouldn’t hurry back here but I also think it is one of the better hotels in Nerja.

The hotel was immaculate and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay here especially due to the staff. The only issue we really had was the small room size, to the point you couldn’t close the wardrobe door properly with clothes on the hangers. But as we spent so much time exploring the area this wasn’t really an issue. Our room also had a very nice balcony into an interior planted courtyard which was very well maintained. Comfy bed, super shower, and great air con very happy with our stay.

Central clean hotel but too noisy!

Unfortunately we would not go back to this hotel as it was far too noisy - either people talking loudly outside the rooms including the cleaners or residents opening of the window shutters, church bell or clock ringing plus a very loud lift constantly in use day and night - came home for a good night's sleep!

Recently stayed for two nights. Our second floor unit was facing the sea and, while a bit small, was clean and comfortable with gleaming marble floors throughout and all necessary amenities. There is a scenic roof deck with a plunge pool with lots of seating areas. As the hotel is very close to the waterfront in the centre of town it is best to arrive before evening, when the hotel's front street is part of a pedestrian-only zone, requiring one to park in a nearby public garage. Tons of beaches, restaurants and bars within a five minute walk.

Perfect hotel right in the center of Nerja 60 seconds from the Balcon de Europa. Location, location, location - modern, clean, great value, wonderful 8€ buffet breakfast. I also recommend PlayNerja for sightseeing adventures, like amazing day trip to Granada & Alhambra. Fantastic food - like tapas lunches with 2 drinks, sparkling water, 2 free tapas & roasted red peppers for 10€ (at Pulgullia). And all the gelato you can eat at 4 gelaterias within 1 block. Felt like royalty when Nerja Taxis picked me up in a Mercedes at Malaga & whisked me to Nerja.

Such an amazing hotel. Could not have got anything as close to the centre of nerja. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean and the facilities such as the pool were brilliant. Would recommend this to everyone.

Save your money

The hotel was nothing special. Outdated decor, but large enough rooms. Biggest complaint was our broken A/C. We told the front desk, but they did nothing to address our problem. It was stifling hot in our room making it quite uncomfortable to sleep. Also, some hotel guests were rather loud and obnoxious at 2 in the morning.
