This place is in a quiet, beautiful location overlooking a lake in the distance. The building is going to be renovated, but the rooms are clean and our room was renovated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet had numerous cold options. Had an overnight and would go there again, especially after it's renovated.

I was refused a room because I had a dog that was going to stay in the car, and she didn’t believe me. She thought I would sneak it in. I’m hoping I don’t get charged for the room.
Not impressed with the new management. It used to be my favorite hotel, but I regret, I won’t be back.

We felt so welcomed and and so appreciative of the well preserved historical site. We would have appreciated a little fridge in our room, and better Internet but the staff was willing to help us with our ice pack for our cooler and indicate an area of better reception Fort our cellular phone s! If you return to the respect of this site, they didn’t have all those accomplîtes in the past!

The fellow Don was nowhere to be found. Nice lady at check in. She told us that the place was sold to a big development corporation and it's was closing at the end of September for renovations. Too bad we didn't experience any of the stuff that all the reviews mentioned. It was old and not really taken care of over the years. No live band either and we were there on Saturday night.

202 CDN $ is a rip-off , place should be shut down , is dirty and worn out , owners say they're shutting it down for renovations end of Sept , but it never shoud've been even on the Expedia website . I hope they tear it down and rebuild it from the foundation up , even the local town people are amazed that it is still in business, they see it as a filthy neglected dump.!

The view from this hotel is fabulous. Everything else leaves much to be desired. The condition has declined markedly over the years. You are greeted by weeds in a decrepit driveway the landscaping needs some tlc. The front steps have chipped paint and recovered with dirt. The entire exterior of the hotel seems to need a refurbishment. The sheets were thin. The breakfast marginal. There was no TV no hair dryer no clock and the woman who is supposed to be there for breakfast at 6:00 a.m. showed up late

Overall a good stay, eclectic clean rooms and all utilities worked fine, older property in need of some repairs but a neat building with a lot of history making for an interesting stay. Continental breakfast was basic but ok. Red Rock in general is a nice area but seemingly a dying one; one restaurant which was closed on our stay so options were go to grocery store which had minimal selection and expired food or drive 20 mins to nearby town we opted to get a few groceries and use the Inns kitchen (which was very nice of them) but we’d opt to drive to restaurant next time due to limited grocery option. Staff was great and very helpful.

I was so wanting to stay here but when we got there....was disappointed. There was no TV in the common area and no amenities on the property like they show in the pictures. They are getting ready to renovate the property. I don't feel they should have charged me full price for my room. With nothing to do and no TV in common area. Staff were friendly. But disappointing.

Staff were friendly, the Inn is very run down and out dated, rooms were clean aside from stained sitting chairs. The breakfast area could have been nicer— written notes on old scrap paper and old coffee stained paper towel on an old cookie sheet to hold the coffee carafes. The outside gardens had not been tended to at all but the lake view was pretty. There was only sheer curtains on our windows so privacy was lacking. The entire place had an “old cottage- like smell” to it that was unappealing. Good water pressure in the shower, bath towels were clean and crisp, however mine had a hole in it. It was nice and quiet for sleeping but the bed was hard. It met our needs with no frills at all and was a convenient place for us to stop on our route.

We did not stay as we cancelled our booking once we saw the room assigned to us. We were bumped from our original room to a room on the 2nd floor. Plastic bags were stuffed around the window to keep flies out. . The room had not been renovated in years (we were told it was the last room they typically put someone in). Original booking was for a renovated room on the completed 1st floor. The general areas of the inn are in desperate need for refreshing. Hopefully the new ownership achieves this over the coming off- season. and hopefully

Help this beauty out owners!

This inn is a diamond in the rough. The innkeeper Don is a delight but it is shameful to let this beautiful historic site decay. I would love to see the porch repaired with new furniture and the whole outside could use paint and new windows. Otherwise it was quiet, comfort able and the bathrooms were modern. I don't need TV so I never missed it.

Great for a night. Would stay here again. In fact, we did on our way back. Donnie is a beauty, but you have to be careful or he can talk your ear off with stories (part of the reason we returned). If you want a posh hotel, carry on, but if you want a quaint, vintage and authentic stay, come here.

Rude staff. Even though we listed a service animal on our reservation, the staff was extremely rude and demanded that we leave \"early \" compared to the 10am check out. When checking in I asked 3 separate times if I needed to get the paperwork from the car, which he ignored. Then when we were leaving at 830am, he started yelling again that it was a \"no pets\" inn. The room had no security lock on the door and the only light that worked was a lamp on the bedside table. Two books for \"entertainment \" were a \"Nancy Drew \" and the other was \"Hardy Boys\"

The Red Rock Inn is a must-stop for any Trans-Canada journey! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, but truly the best part is the building itself - the history! It’s a museum of Red Rock’s past and Don is the curator, regaling us with stories from Neil Young connections to the local WW2 POW camp to where all those Nancy Drew books came from. Do yourself a favour and stay here!

Small Town Inn Near Nipigon

Red Rock Inn provides a nostalgic view at inns of the past .In need of some exterior upkeep but provides an amazing look into the past . Lacks some modern touches , AC and in room coffee maker . Don makes an eyeopening coffee for Continental breakfast .Great local restaurant a short walk across a ball diamond field . Definitely worth the visit . Spend some time viewing the memorabilia .

Very old Inn with lots of antiques, Our room was clean and updated. The outside of the Inn is not well maintained and we were regretting our decision. When we got inside we discovered such an interesting and quirky place. Lots of games to play in the huge TV room. No TVs in the rooms. Another room in basement has pool tables and many other games that were unusable. Nothing hot for breakfast, not even toast. Not sure I would go back, but it's the place we'll talk about when we think of our vacation.

A living museum with charming vintage items everywhere. Lots of art, antique appliances, a complete games room with pool table and many other games of coordination and a separate room for board games or movies. No tv or fridge in room but access to a full refrigerator/freezer, microwaves, dishes etc. continental breakfast in a large, lovely well-appointed room with great coffee, and delicious muffins made in-house. Amazing host Don. Unforgettable stay. Nice patio (too cold for us to enjoy during our stay). Gardens looking a bit wild (reminiscent of home).

We were put into a room that was not clean, old beds and there was newly renovated rooms that were empty. Old tin shower with a piece of plywood to stop the water from going onto the floor. Out dated yogurt for breakfast. Unkept yard
