Take glamping to a whole new level with a stay in these luxury tents under the stars at Zion. Located on 196 acres bordering Zion National Park, Under Canvas Zion offers a unique lodging experience just as incredible and unique as the park itself.
The camp seamlessly blends in with its dramatic surroundings (the majestic red rocks that make the park so famous) and the three options of luxury tents allow guests to enjoy Utah's spectacular desert without giving up the comforts of home. There's plenty to explore within the park, whether rock climbing, biking, cayoneering, hiking, safari tours, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, helicopter tours, kayaking or UTV/ATV guided tours.
On-site massages and yoga sessions are also available to guests and an American or vegetarian breakfast is available every morning.
When you stay at Under Canvas Zion in Virgin, you'll be in the mountains and 14 minutes by car from Hop Valley Trail. This lodge is 20.1 mi (32.4 km) from Zion National Park and 20.2 mi (32.5 km) from Zion National Park South Entrance.

Location: The stay is East of Zion so it is about 27-30 minutes to get to the Springdale entrance of Zion.
Amenities: Restaurant on-site available for breakfast at 7 am, lunch, and dinner. S’mores are available at 7-9 pm.
Coffee and to go snacks and sandwiches are available starting at 5 am.
Yoga was available and board games too !
Recommendation: Consider starting breakfast earlier than 7 am to allow guests to beat the traffic and find close parking to the Springdale entrance of Zion.
Note: Arriving at the park prior to 7 -7:30 was very good for parking nearby. Also, recommend renting E-bikes so you can park at the place you rented and ride the bike inside the park instead of using the overpacked shuttle bus ( we used Zion E-Bikes was about a mile away from the Springdale entrance).
Tent: The tent has battery powered lighting and portable batteries for charging electronics. There is a hot shower and sink with hot water. Wood is available for burning on a hot stove furnace for heat (we went in end of May and it was freezing around 3-5 am). The bedding is luxury king size and there are 7 layers of sheets. There is no on-site WiFi and cell service is spotty, which is what you expect in a camping experience.
Our Experience: Stepping out of our tent every morning to see Zion mountains was priceless. We loved that we can watch the sun rise, sun set and the moon rise from our tent. The staff were excellent. Everything was just perfect.

There are few amenities because it's designed to be off grid. The tent is nice and so is the bedding. Because it's an off grid camp, you have to deal with taking a shower by pulling a lever. Let go of the lever and water shuts off. Same for the sink. Also, no electricity or wifi. You have to rely on battery packs. Tents can get hot. They offer small fans that do help. However, this experience was enough for me. Others may love it and want to return.

My husband and I had an amazing time here for our anniversary! We had a stargazer tent and we enjoyed the stars every night! The tent was so spacious and we had our personal bathroom and hot water. We were also able to use the furnace in the tent to heat up the room at night, it was so cozy! The complimentary coffee/tea in the morning as well as complimentary smores in the evening was great and we definitely utilized both. There was also some free arts and crafts that we did and took home to commemorate the trip. One of the night staff, Rhys, suggested a scenic drive on the mesa that wasn't populated and the views were INCREDIBLE!! She mentioned it one night, took the time to map it out for us and gave us the directions the next morning. All of the staff was wonderful and helpful, and we had a fantastic time. Thank you!! Will definitely be visiting Under Canvas again!

The one thing that was terrible was when it got cold at night, the potbelly stove utilized to heat the tent had to be manned all night. The wood to keep the tent warm was only good for about a half hour, so the temperature dropped dramatically if it was not constantly being fed wood. That should not be.

The place itself is amazing, but unfortunately the service really let us down. There wasn’t much friendliness or hospitality, and a big part of the staff came off as rude. What we expected to be a relaxing experience turned out to be the complete opposite.
When we arrived, the rules weren’t explained clearly. The girl at reception mentioned that we couldn’t bring drinks into the tent and that we had to consume them in the restaurant area. Later, when we tried to have our drinks at the restaurant, the manager rudely told us the opposite—that we should be drinking them in the tent. It was confusing and honestly stressful, since every staff member told us something different.
It’s a shame because we chose this place to celebrate my friend’s birthday and have a great time, but we didn’t really get to enjoy it :(

Our last night a wind storm kicked up. Our tent already had a small hole in it, and the wind tore it even more. We ended up with a 5’ hole in our tent. It was very cold out (feels like 21°), and we couldn’t relight the fire due the wind in our tent. It was not the company’s fault up that a 7-hour windstorm kicked up, but there was no contingency plan. They did refund us $500 without our even having to ask, so we did appreciate that.

If you want to totally unplug (there is no WiFi and no service in the are) and gaze at stars, then this is the place for you! What a great space and concept. The tents are well thought out and comfortable and and a fraction of the price of comparable stays, this is money well spent.

The stove is too small to keep the tent warm overnight. The bed frame was making noise each time i moved. The floor/carpet was not vacuumed. The shower started dripping in the middle of the night. The tent had a few holes in corners.

wonderful stay - just a mishap the morning checking out. We loaded the car with our belongings - all but one bag left on the bed - went for breakfast before checking out. When we got back - the bag was gone. Quite upsetting. After speaking with 2 staff members - it was found to be at the office. They thought the bag was left behind - but we hadn't checked out yet! All good in the end - but for a while there - not good

Loved the individual tent with a bathroom and a fireplace. Felt private and rustic in a beautiful setting. Short walk away was a wonderful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, multiple fire pits and seating areas. Must admit I love the free s’mores. I especially loved that we were able to come back after a long day of hiking before we headed to the airport!

We loved the tents but we picked the wrong time of year to go. It was so hot and the fans just didn't do the job of keeping us cool. We would for sure come back but at a different time of year. Everyone was so nice and the tents were beautiful. We had booked for 3 nights but we had to leave and get a hotel. Needed A/C. We did not ask for a refund because we booked thru Expedia and you know you cant get your money back. Please try this place out but check the temperature and go when it is not too hot.

Really beautiful Under Canvas site. They do have a few rules, but that’s OK. For example, you can’t bring outside alcohol or food into the public eating area. And you can’t bring food into your tents at all.

This was our first \"Glamping\" experience. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful in suggesting where to go to rent hiking equipment or fun things to do. The tent was spacious and clean-only wish the battery packs lasted longer. There were ample board games for the kids (their first time playing Scrabble), and the musician added a nice touch as we made S'mores.

I was sceptical at first, having expected not to enjoy the experience. Arriving in a bad mood and a little annoyed by the lack of WiFi, I only booked this place due to its close proximity to Kolob Terrace, as I was doing the Subway Canyoneering nearby.
Travelling alone, I had assumed this would be more of a couples’ retreat, but I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was fantastic and welcoming to everyone, not just couples. The accommodation was phenomenal—probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, making for an amazing and restful experience.
The food was simple but of great quality and very tasty, which complemented the overall stay perfectly. To top it all off, the live music was truly amazing and added a wonderful vibe to the evenings.

Under Canvas Zion was an awesome place to stay while visiting the park. The stargazer tent had all the amenities I needed and the night sky view was great. Only downside is you can hear any noise through the tents. Cars driving and people talking can make it hard to sleep.

We stayed here for a single night after a day hiking in Zion. It’s about 25 min away from the park, in a secluded, stunning area surrounded by canyons. The stars at night were fantastic, although I wish the main building patio lights went out to allow better star gazing. The rooms were comfortable, with running water, hot showers, and a wood stove to keep you warm at night. One recommendation would be to stock each room with 3-4 of those fire starter pucks - our room only had 2, and when the fire went out in the middle of the night, I had to use one each time to restart the fire, so when it went out the second time, I couldn't restart it again. We ate miso salmon and flank steak dishes at the restaurant on site, and both meals were tasty beyond what you might expect at a tented facility. Would stay again.

Under Canvas is always next level with a stunning location and unique experience. In the past, we've had a secondary tent with two bed (kids) -- this time we opted for a couch fold out bed in same tent -- not a great option/comfort wise. Maybe they should consider a mattress topper?

As someone who has done “glamping” in the past this is a very subpar experience. If you know what you’re getting into this could be a good experience but the problem is the advertising isn’t an accurate depiction. There is no electricity, no AC or heat other than a wood stove which with the lack of insulation will not heat the tent, the shower is a pull shower so you must be pulling it down for it to run. At the price point and distance from the park, it’s a rip off. Food is decent but overpriced and none is included.

Thoroughly enjoyed \"glamping \" as part of our Zion experience. Under Canvas Zion is 25-30 minutes further from the Springdale park entrance but offers another viewpoint. The tents are comfortable and well equipped. I thought the \"star gazer\" upgrade was worth it- each night I looked up and saw a sky full of stars

It was interesting, and something to check off a list. But price wise it was not worth it. Staff were lovely, the room was very clean. But there are things you can’t get away from, like no food in the room to avoid bugs, noise all night easily heard through fabric walls, the tents are see through at night toilet included, lukewarm- cold water in the shower, waiting till 10 pm for the tent to cool to a reasonable temperature. All part of a camping experience however you pay premium luxury prices, I was over 500 US. If you are looking for something unique -stay, if you care about spending money -pass. I would not pay any more than 200$ to camp here.

Such a fun adventure and beautiful location. The only downside to our stay it was a little warmer than we had anticipated. Loved the concept and it was really well done. Excellent staff. Enjoyed the live music and hanging by the firepit. Dinner was unexpectedly good. Enjoyed the yoga class on the helipad which was well timed muscle stretch from all of our hikes. We were focused on main Zion but this also allowed to explore Kolob canyon area... really enjoyed nearby Wildcat Canyon To Northgate Peaks for easier hike with great views.

They offered to help find things for us to do and suggested a beautiful Reservoir for us to go visit, surrounded by apen trees and so much beauty. The only sad part is we had to leave!
