The rooms that you see and choose from on their website and Expedia are not the rooms you get ..rooms are very small and the descriptions are very inaccurate.....what you get is not what you receive...over priced for the actual room you stay in....not recommended..

I had great hopes, but I was very disappointed. The breakfast is ok, but it's the same thing every day. The room is old and in desperate need of updating and repair. The towels are old and raggedy. The bedsheets are rough, and the pillows are flat. There's no place to just sit and relax, other than the tiny corner by the tiny pool that I dared not use. The location is relatively near the center of the city, but the walk there is treacherous. There's an overpriced restaurant that opens only at 7:00 PM, and down the road there's another overpriced restaurant. There's nothing else near the hotel, nothing.

We were disappointed that the hotel is really not in the city--it's about 20 minutes walk up & down hill with poor sidewalks or crossings.

On the third morning a heavy rain collapsed the ceiling in our bathroom. We were moved to another room but no view. We used the bathroom as an excuse to change hotels.

Pretty hotel, slightly away from the city centre which was perfect for lovely walks and vistas. The staff was friendly and accommodating (e.g. baggage hold, directions). The room was comfortable and peaceful even during a busy weekend. The outdoor infinity pool had a magnificent view over the bay. We were happy with our stay.

The property was well maintained, modern, and had a comfortable bed, hot water, refrigerator, and plenty of space. Staff was very friendly and spoke enough English we didn't need to use our very limited French. Stored our luggage for the day without issue. While it is a bit out of town, there is a huge grocery store and a mix of budget type restaurants closer by (main road below hotel, walking in direction away from town). It was a very good value for us. Thanks for the great stay.

NOT for international travelers.......

The hotel had no charging points for laptop or cell phones. There was only one charging station at the reception. No one speaks English and expect that each visitor would know French language. This was an issue all over Martinique.
If any hotel doesn't have these basic (charging) facilities which is a worldwide standard, it must be mentioned in the their space at Hotel.com
Also, what language they will be speaking and if anyone is available to speak the international language (English) all these should be mentioned. There was computer at the reception but that too was French friendly and keyboard as well so I couldn't even use that when my laptop run out of battery.
All signs including security signs were in French only, this is a serious security hazard. Menu was also in English only.
So overall, hotel rooms were not comfortable, one room was too small we had to ask them to change and the other room was leaking everyday in washroom from roof (most likely air condition issue) but they took three days to fix it, they were coming ever day but issues was still there.
Overall Martinique is not for international tourist, only for French and hence the hotel.
Cleaning was not so great as well.
I won't recommend it anyone.

Very disappointing in room conditions. Shower curtain was dirty and filthy. The bathtub was extremely high from the floor, therefore taking a shower was practically impossible. As a senior I don’t expect to climb into a 6 feet tub. My experience was dissatisfy since I couldn’t utilized use of the shower. Staffs were pleasant and helpful.

Karibea Squash needs an update

Karibea Squash is dated and could use a renovation. On the plus side the location is convient to downtown(15 minute walk) and there is ample parking. Breakfast is available and it was buffet style with many options. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant because there were no vegetarian options on the menu. The pool area and bar could use an upgrade with worn furniture and no place to get a drink during the day. The room furniture is very worn and the shower drain had a broken cover. The comforter was old. Only two towels were in the bathroom. It is fine if you just need a place in transit.

The location was very convenient, within a good walk to downtown Fort-de-France and a boat excursion across the bay and buses to other parts of the island were close by. The food in the hotel's restaurant was terrific, a very good variety for breakfast and dinner...certainly different from the wide variety of great food in my home towns of Lawrence, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. The staff were very friendly and responsive. What a wonderful place on a great island.

“Squash” sounds about right

We chose this hotel because it was budget friendly and you really do get what you pay for. The rooms are outdated, from the blankets / curtains to the towels and television. The hallway outside of our room always smelled of smoke. The pool is good for snapping a few pictures but in person is pretty depressing. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep and nothing more this is a fine budget friendly option. It’s a little difficult to find from the road but once you get in there, there is plenty of parking which is hard to find in Martinique. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Very poorly kept. Never seen a bathroom that was so bad. The hotel was completely not worth the price we paid for it. Everything was shabby. The air conditioning did not work properly. Linens and the blankets were also not clean. I am disappointed in lack of vetting of this property by hotels.com and giving it 3 stars when it doesn't even deserve one.

Horrible place to stay, old,dirty and decrepit furnishings stained, discoloured and scruffy bed linen. Don't be fooled by the pictures like I was its a completely different in reality. Ontop of the awful stuffy odour in the room I had insects to keep me company as well. Not worth the hassle avoid it all cost are you will be desperately disappointed like I was.

Chose the hotel because of the price and what I thought would be a shorter ride from the airport than the other hotel I originally booked. Wrong - Taxi still about 40 euros from airport. Hotel pool was great. Had a nice view and was clean. From what I can tell the hotel bar only opened during dinner (or at least meal time). Front desk said restaurant was a la carte, restaurant said restaurant was only doing buffet. Room is sparse. Bed is uncomfortable. If you don’t bring your own pillow you probably won’t sleep well. Safe didn’t function. Bathroom clean at least. No security lock on our room door for the night and the hotel doors to the outside were open all the time it looked like. Stayed two nights on a layover. Overall, adequate if you’re waiting on a plane, but not much else.

Within walking distance, if you are a walker.

If you are a traveler that like to lace up your sneakers to go explore, well you might actually like this place. We enjoyed walking downtown daily to either explore, shop or just people watch during our stay. The language barrier was a minor hurdle but if you understand and respect that you are traveling to a different county with a different language and a different way of doing things than things won't seem as bad. The hotel was a bit dated. They didn't have an elevator. They did, however, have a restaurant on site, maid service was prompt every morning and they had polite employees that always tried to help.

Hotel with a pool, in Fort de France

We stayed 3 days at Karibea Squash hotel. The hotel was comfortable, and good value for money. The breakfasts were very good, with a selection of eggs, sausage, bacon, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit etc. It was a short walk into Fort de France. We took a taxi ride to the Musee de Paget, the home of Josephine (wife of Napoleon), and Diamond Head, to see the statues of the slaves. The taxi driver Jean-Paul was amazing. The first two nights we ate at the hotel, which was OK, but on the last night we found an amazing restaurant called the Favela, just a short walk from the hotel. Fortunately we booked, as we wouldn't have got a table. The staff there were wonderful, and the food was good and plentiful. Wish we'd found it the first night.

Room plain but comfortable, roomy, and clean; beautiful view of the bay out my window, powerful air conditioner kept me cool. good food in restaurant and bountiful fresh breakfast buffet; helpful staff did their best to cope with my non-French; computer for guest use in the lobby. Cab fare about 30 euros from airport, 8-10 to town if you don't want to walk the hills. Fort-de-France small, crowded, noisy, always full of goings-on; big stores (along the lines of WalMart) as well as minuscule boutiques and tiny-box stores.

I booked four nights and only stayed for one. I've NEVER done that. The staff was pleasant. But the hotel is awful. It's far away from the town. The rooms are ugly...bare lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling. The bathroom had chipped tiles and the shower stall was TINY. The restaurant only served buffet the night I was there and it was pricey for what you got--very limited selection, and the food was average.
The tv in the room did not work. Eventually, I realized that there was a loose connection somewhere, and even when I fixed it, there was static.
The infinity pool is tiny as is the pool area. There is a fence surrounding the pool that limits the surrounding area to about 4'. The lounge chairs provided can only be arranged parallel to the pool. It is impossible to place them perpendicular, as is the norm.
I do not like leaving a bad review, but I'd hate to have others deal with this place. I want to emphasize that the staff was great, but the location, the rooms, the pool, and the restaurant, were awful.

After checking in we were sent to the older building with no elevator and dingy rooms that smelled a little musty. The pool was closed because of a chlorine issue the bar didn't seem to have a set opening time and overall the quality of the hotel should be two star. We were told that because we booked on Expedia we had reserved the basic room and there was nothing we could do unless we paid more

This hotel was such a disappointment. It was so dirty, at the building entrance there was a dinner platter for 2 days with glasses and left over food. The building is falling is in disrepair. There were ants everywhere in the room. The bathroom was so dirty, the tub had a ring of dirt. We didn't even try the pool it looked suspicious. The creole/french breakfast looked nice but there so many gnats all over.

For $179 a night our room definitely wasn't worth the money. The beds are very uncomfortable, the pillows were paper thin and there were many things wrong with the room including the bathroom light that kept blinking until it finally cut off to the lamp that was missing half of the tiles on the base. Decent Location and overall friendly staff!

First, It was quite difficult to find the hotel as it is within a residential area. Once we arrived (8pm) the room we reserved had been given out. The manager assured us he would switch the room in the morning and he did. The view was improved to water views but nothing like the picture you see online and the room was essentially the same.
The bed was very low to the ground, but basically comfortable once you drop down. The staff (especially Myrna) was kind. It is a French speaking Island, so don't expect everyone to speak English. However, just about everyone tries to be helpful. Myrna was exceptional with advice on where to go, where not to go and just a great representation of how you want to be treated as a guest. The breakfast was ample enough to enjoy but still limited. If you want or need a decent room with great access to all points of Martinique (without frills and modern touches), this is it! If you are looking for an upscale or an average American 3 star hotel, this may not be it.

Hotel was difficult to find because outdoor signs were not sufficient--but local folks at a bus stop helped! The staff was great--welcoming, friendly throughout, very helpful and generous in spirit. The room was clean, bed comfortable. Dinner at the hotel was good, pool adequate. It was easy to walk into the center of town. We would recommend the hotel for those who want a few days in Fort de France, not for a long stay. Hotel seems to have lots of meeting rooms and I am sure they do a good job supporting those who organize meetings.

Well it was a OK hotel. But room standard comes with the price. Not the best beds and bathroom was kind of ok. Was really a lot of noise during night, one could really hear everything to the room from all over the place. And many people who came home during late hours didn't have the respect to be quiet.

Great breakfast, views and short walk to downtown.

The staff was extremely helpful, the views from our room were magnificent and the continental breakfast spread in the morning was superb. We didn't have a rental and would walk downtown everyday which was perfectly fine. From there we could take ferries, the bus or the taxi collectif wherever we wanted to go. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds well maintained and it is a good deal for the price.

The room I had in that building seemed to be in better condition than the 'high end' room I had next to the reception (the 'high end' meaning apparently having a ironing table).

The hotel is not as nice as the pictures depict. The doors have standard keys (no cards) and are a bit of a pain to unlock. The rooms are not sound proof as stated by the hotel. The breakfast is a bit limited, but you can make do. Food on the menu for Dinner is quite delicious and not exorbitantly priced. Hotel staff does need to improve on English though; some persons are able to speak a little, but other almost none at all.

Easily the worst thing about the hotel is its location. I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be convenient to - I know it says the \"commercial centre\", but the neighbourhood seemed largely residential to me and the only businesses around didn't seem to be anything you'd visit Fort de France for. It's a good 20 minute walk to the city centre, and every route takes you through a dodgy neighbourhood. That alone would be enough to stop me from staying here again. That said, the room was pleasant (if a little cold) and clean; the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was more than sufficient. If they could move to a better location I'd be happy enough to recommend them in future.

Nice Hotel but no bar

The restraurant & bar lets this hotel down. It has no atmosphere when dining or drinking. Its more of drinks service with a bottle of local beer at 4.5 euros - 50% more than in town. And no bar to actually sit at. The swimming pool is more of plunge pool.

Need to Improve

Generally the stay suited its purpose but it is definitely not a place to stay for leisure. The hotel needs something to attract custom and cannot rely on a few meeting rooms when the quality of the experience leaves a lot to be desired. Particularly disappointing was the quality of service and food in the restaurant. It is not a measure of the staff, although they do need training it is very poor vision and management. It is just not worth the money. Service is poor, ambience is poor and the food is unimaginative and stogy. The hotel is in urgent need of a high quality restaurant to attract custom. As it is I would not go again.

Friendly athmosphere

We stayed only one night at the hotel but due to late departure of our flight next day we wanted to keep the room until 5 pm. We asked in the reception - no problems and no extra charge! The breakfast was also good with most of what you want. Location of the hotel is only 1.5 km from center but be ware of that it is located on a hill - easy to walk to the town center more work to walk back.

Squash hotel - staff fantastic

We were booked in for 6 nights but had to extend our stay as my father was being treated at the hospital and he stayed longer than expected.
The reception staff were fantastic (in a country that speaks limited English and us no French!!) they allowed us to keep the room on a rolling bases as we didn't know when my father could leave.
The staff could not do enough for us.
The breakfast which was included was diffinitly worth getting up for!!

Definately not what I expected

Kcock-roachs in and arround the pool and under my table in the restaurant. Poor quality of the food (Dinner). Breakfast turned out not to be included.
