The unit is very simple but adequate. It is the perfect location right on the beach with great restaurants that are walkable and a grocery store very close. Don't miss the patisserie that is a 200 yard walk! We didn't use it but there is a frequent ferry across to FDF so this is a great base to see the town without actually staying there. Would definitely recommend it.

Well, we tried

Our room was incredibly basic (as expected) and not at all comfortable (which was totally unexpected...1 pillow per person, wood plank-like mattress). You would think being on the beach would be grand. Instead, the incessant pummeling of waves 10 feet from my ear with no soundproofing in the hut made me fear we were on the verge of being swept away by the Great Flood...every 2 seconds. Couldn't sleep through the roar and rose with a stiff back every day. The beach was as compact as concrete, which meant even sun bathing was out. On the upside, the bar/restaurant down the beach (right, as you approach the beach from the complex) was amazing. Wonderful people, wonderful wine, almost-wonderful food.

I really enjoyed my stay here. First, I was literally on the beach, like 10 steps away (beach view cabana). I loved having a kitchenette and a grocery store across the parking lot. There are a few restaurants on the beach and the ferry is a few steps away, which was great since I didn't have a car.

The room was basic, but I expected that. It was very clean and had everything I needed. I think it's important to note this isn't a hotel, its like renting a service apartment, so you have to clean up after yourself. People do sit outside and talk, but everything was quiet by 9-10 pm. Other guests were friendly. It was like a little community, I loved it. For reference, the taxi is about EUR 60 each way, so factor that in (taxis are pricey on the island). Overall I had a great time!

On the beach, friendly helpful staff, ferry every half hour to the city right on the beach.several beach front open restaurants in the sand, grocery store on site , fresh bakery (think warm baguettes/croissants baked all day long), all in French,European warmth (greetings with kisses on both cheeks). Excellent price (no frills, eg. sheets and towels once or twice a week - in line with responsible tourist behavior.)Good/fair internet.Great A/C , all French TV. Car rental probably necessary to see rest of island ( not good public transportation), great parking.

Great area

The location was perfect. The front desk staff and cleaning staff were very kind and helpful. Internet connection terrible unless you camp out by the front office. Extreme downside and health issue ROACHES. Continuous and scheduled extermination services need to be employed. The a/c units worked well. No issues with plumbing. We blew the power out once but assistance was quick and kind.

Good value for money, and right on the beach

I liked the facilities, it was right on the beach so very convenient. There is a supermarket right next to the hotel, and the kitchen has all equipment needed to cook your own food. I did not like, however, that I needed to clean and even mop (!!) the room before leaving. This is a hotel, and if you need to charge more for cleaning, please do so instead of asking people on vacation to do it for you.

Disappointing Stay

The room had a decent shower, ok bed and kitchenette. But small balcony just overlooked other cabins, no hob and MDF units falling apart. Sewage pipes from an upstairs room ran through the room, not insulated, so hope no-one flushes in the night. The girls in reception were helpful.

Nice for the price.

The hotel was nice. It is made up of little cabins, each with a small kitchen area that has microwave, mini fridge, sink, and cookware and dinner ware, a TV with French television, and a separate bathroom. The bathroom was nice, and warm water was always there. The bed was absolutely atrocious for comfort. The room was a little dark because it had shutters on the windows that you could either open and let light in and mosquitoes, or keep the bugs out along with the fresh air and sunlight. It did make the room feel a little oppressive.
The staff was wonderful! Nicest people in the world. I had a problem with my car and they did all the calling for me to get it taken care of and were so gracious about it and anxious to help me. There is also a Carrefour market right next to reception that is open until 7 or 8, but the people are so rude I opted to not have anything, than go in after the last time. There are two souvenir shops, but I never patronized either.
There is a beach so close you can hear the waves at night and there are several restaurants on the beach and at least one dive shop and one water sports place. There were obvious tours leaving from the dock at the beach and the views at and around are breathtaking. You could probably have a vacation without ever leaving the area. Mostly middle class French tourists and English is not spoken, but with a smile and an apologetic shrug they will usually try.
All and all I would say it was a good choice.

Overall the experience was good. You must speak some French or it will be a challenging trip. The restaurants got our meal orders wrong on a few occasions and I was traveling with someone who is fluent in French and used the 'language barrier\" excuse.

Little village by the sea

Well,I arrived at night,so I couldn't see much.I was in a studio,in a two story building.Around me were bungalows,it was rustic.The problem for me,was the noisy crickets or froggies all night,each night.I guess it's the country!
Also,you can hear people talking,right near you from other rooms, or bungalows.
The location was good,right on a pretty, neat little beach.
The boat for fort de France ,the capital was right there,very convenient...There were restaurants right on the premises.
Unfortunately, my camera was lost or stolen...Not at courbaril...The staff were helpful,and kind .The water at the beach was warm and inviting,and flying fish were jumping.
It was clean in the room,but no daily housekeeping.They did change the towels and sheets every four days.Good deal for the money...

A remake of Pitch Black but near the beach

It was terrible.
Starting with the positive: the staff was friendly and the hotel is literally 30 second walk from the beach. That's it.
The negatives are plenty:
The rooms are absolutely tiny and uncomfortable. I took one of the bungalows and it was minuscule. The other rooms are even smaller. The furniture is composed of the bare minimum and is very aged. The rooms are very dark so you have to put your towels and swimming suits outside which makes the whole place look like a shanty town.
It is very poorly isolated. You can hear what the neighbours do all the time.
In addition, you don't get much air. The whole place is built like a council estate. No air streams in or out.
The place is very near a stagnant stream with lots of wild trees. When you first look at it, it seems quaint and then come the horrors: mosquitoes galore. And we are talking about relentless, merciless monsters. That would all be fine if you could live comfortably inside the accommodations but you can't. Best of all, the accommodations don't have windows, they only have poor shutters that have gaps to let the little monsters through.
This was like Pitch Black the movie: stifling during the day with an uncomfortable and bare bones accommodation and at night, the monsters come out and you have to live in the dark covered with repellent spray that doesn't keep the surnatural monsters at bay.
After day 4, I booked another hotel and left this horror behind. Didn't even ask for a refund.

Nice convenient quarters right on the beach

We stayed in a bungalow that gave us lots of freedom to walk directly onto the beach, shop at the handy store and walk to several different spots to eat out. We could be self-sufficient for breakfast (with warm bread and croissants each morning), lunch, etc., and yet easily get a drink or a good meal anytime we wanted.
Getting the ferry into Fort de France was easy, but would recommend a car for getting around as this perfect vacation spot is a little off the beaten path (thank goodness!).

WiFi was essentially non-existent. They say they change linens every 4 days but we were there for 7 days and they did not change it once. The futon was broken so it was very uncomfortable. One of the four kitchen burners was not working. Needs better signage for the residence, especially reception desk -- it was difficult to find since we landed after dark. The gap between the front door and the ground was very big, making it easy for bugs to crawl in. The bathroom's shower area was too small, and since there is no clear separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, it was easy to get the whole bathroom wet and slippery.

Easy beach access with a few places to eat. There is a store a few doors down where you can get some groceries if you don't feel like going to a market. OK for what we paid, but would've paid a bit more to get a bit better.

Budget friendly hotel, right on the beach

Loved that this local hotel was convenient in so many ways! The beach is just outsude the gate. There's a mini market close by fot fresh fruit & snacks. There's a choice of at least 6 resturants. I sampled 5 of them! The staff was helpful & courteous. Plus access to the ferry & water sports right out back. What more could you ask for??

Can't beat the price

Courbaril Village offers an incredible value with a warm and friendly staff. It's not a Ritz Carlton and that should be anticipated at the price point. That said, the location directly on the beach looking across to Fort De France is wonderful, the room
Is clean, has AC, a small kitchen area, and even has a balcony. the grocery store next to registration has everything from daily made warm crosiants in the AM and nearly anything else you need to have a full no frills meal - down to rum, Bordeaux, and champagne. Don't expect house keeping, don't expect perfection, but well worth it if you are looking for sun, beach, and people that will point you in the right direction for your adventure while in Martinique.

Quite good location, right on beach and few minutes walking distance to the ferry to Fort De France.
The beach is not the nicest in Martinique, though.
The rooms was small but clean, with little kichinette. Be prepared to clean your room and take out the garbage when you're leaving, the guests are required to do so.
Overall it's was a good experience and I would recommend this hotel.

My family three adults paid for two bedrooms two bathrooms. We had one bathroom downstairs and bedrooms high up so at night it was a major hazard to venture downstairs. The air conditioning worked only in bedrooms; wifi worked only outside staying next to the main office, so practically does not work, the beach has no chairs or shaded covers for guests, so accommodations are primitive. If you add to it an indifferent restaurant food, total absence of night life and dark and narrow roads....

Nice if you're a low maintenance/flexible person

We had a great time here. The location of this hotel was the best part. It is only about 30 minutes from the airport. There is a mini market and car rental business right in the same area. We were only about 10 feet from a pristine and gorgeous beach. The beach had a few restaurants within a short distance and also a business that offered many different water activities. The ferry to other bays is also within a very short distance. We took the ferry to Anse Mitan (5 minute trip) for dinner one night. Since we have a relaxed vacation style which is comprised of eating great food and sun bathing, this worked really well for us.

This hotel is well positioned for the beach, bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean and well equipped. I think this hotel is excellent value for money. English is widely spoken by the staff here which helped us as none French speakers in a French speaking country. Check in isn't until 16:00hrs but they did let us drop our bags early while we went for lunch down the beach. If you can bag a sea view room even better.

Bungalows are on a VERY nice beach. You can not only see Forte De France across the bay but take a ferry from the deck on the beach for a few Euros. 20 minutes and very pleasant ride. Bungalows are fairly small but clean. There is a grocery store nearby and restaurants walking distance. You don't ever have to leave the premises

Price worthy and right on a very nice beach!

This is very basic but all you need. Well worth the money. We spent the first week in an expensive hotel but this was much better over all. Right on the beach, gated so it feels safe. The beach is very nice and the ferry boat to Fort de France and other beaches is about hundred feet from the hotel. There is a store in front and the bungalows (if that is what you are booking) have a 2 burner stove and a small fridge. I think my two complains were the WIFI, slow or not working, and the you have to clean and take out trash yourself. They give you towels and sheets one a week but you have to buy toilet paper and trash bags and if you have an early flight the cleaning is a drag. But like I said, over all this is a nice place compared to others for the money and great little restaurants around it. Staff is nice and most of them speak english. I recommend this hotel...

Pleasant, affordable, conveniently located

This is a pleasant beach-front bungalow/apartment complex for budget travelers. I was here to visit Martinique and for some preliminary independent research, so was not looking for the resort experience. This suited my stay well. It is located in the Trois-Ilets region, very touristy, and across the bay from the capital, Fort-de-France. The location is very convenient, as others have said: beach right in front of property; dock with ferry to FDF steps away; supermarket open 8-8 on-site; a few restaurants on beach. Bus stops minutes away. I had an apartment with a beach view and a small balcony. It was clean and cheerfully decorated, totally comfortable and pleasant, with a kitchenette for the guest's convenience. I advise a bungalow/villa for longer stays because standard rooms do not have a hot plate for cooking. I think people should look over description and reviews carefully - do not expect an all-inclusive hotel! You should bring all your own toiletries (towels provided) and expect to do a basic clean-up of the room before departure. There are several rules/procedures to follow, just keep this in mind. Clientele seems courteous and respectable. As a single female traveler, I felt quite safe (some strange characters on beach in the evenings, so careful) and enjoyed a short stay.

My stay was just what I hoped to experience, except for the language barrier . Was given the impression that a lot more English was spoken and written. Would have liked to see the menus at the restaurant's in both French and English. Other than that its a beautiful place and I would not hesitate to encourage anyone wishing to stay there, because of easy access and convenience to amenities , the beach , the ferry to and from the city is a plus.

Great hotel- cottage like atmosphere!

Stayed at the Courbaril Village in Martinique in December. Overall we enjoyed the experience. The little \"cabin/cottage\" was quaint and perfect for what we needed. Great atmosphere for a laid-back experience. The only thing, I would ask for would be more towels and an extra roll of toilet paper! (seriously- there was only one, half-roll when we arrived). It was a lovely place- close to the beach and a good basic grocery store on site. It is quite far, by taxi, from Fort de France so this was an unexpected expense as we arrived late at night. I would recommend trying to time your arrival so that you can take the \"little ferry\" that runs between the hotel and Fort de France (much, much cheaper), or look into public transportation (taxi collectif).

Very nice campus, good price/quality match. Very convenient location (sea-shore, regular boat to Fort de France, close to Trois Ilets resort and beautiful south beaches). Not for fancy, spoiled people, but excellent for everyday family or friends. Staff OK, helpful and kind. Lots of \"do-it-yourself\" like brooming, taking out the garbage, but this seems to be habitual in Martinique.
Warmly recommended for not very sophisticated travellers; I'd choose it again without reserve.

Parfait quand on a des enfants surtout pour la plage a deux pas. L hébergement est très bien situé.
Devant le balcon il y deux arbres qui font le bonheur des oiseaux, Une petite branche entre les deux s'est elargit et empêche de bien voir la plage du bacon. Mais Dès que possible j'y retournerai encore et encore.

Großer Parkplatz vorhanden. Kein W-Lan im Zimmer. Jedes Schlafzimmer hat Klimaanlage.

À refaire dans un bungalow

Cela c'est très bien passer,le seul dilemme qu'on a eu qu'il y avait des clients sur leur terrasse juste au dessus de nous qui parlaient fort jusqu'à 2h du matin et aussi en face des clients qui se réveillent dès 4h30 et fesaient leur menage.C'est vrais on aurait préférer un bungalow mais sinon on a passer un bon moment

Le séjour dans l'ensemble fût agréable cependant la literie inconfortable. J'y suis reparti avec les reins en compote malheureusement suite à ce détails je doute que je retournerai dans cette établissement.

Les bungalows sont bien situés, vu sur la plage,petits restaurants à côté , tout est à proximité. L'endroit est calme.Draps et serviettes changés régulièrement. Les extérieurs sont bien entretenus, le personnel est agréable et disponible.
Très agréable séjour à courbaril.

nous avons aimé l'emplacement: au top . la plage a 10 m , le supermarche à 50m
nous n'avons pas aimé le lit : pas de sommier (planches) et matelas tres leger

La salle de bain a besoin d un rafraîchissement (meuble sous vasque complètement explosé a l interieur
Tres mauvaise insonorisation : on entend tout ce qui se passe chez les voisins comme sion y était.

Exellent we, comme la dernière fois j ai eu mon bungalow préféré les pieds dans l'eau sans en faire la demande . Arrivé et départ tardif bien géré.
Bravo l équipe !!
J y retournerai encore .

Tres bon emplacement. Restaurants sur la plage. Commerces. Navette fort de france. Parking.
Les bagalows sont vétustes, mais climatisation dans les chambres. Ne surtout pas prendre le bungalow nina, situé derrière les cuisines d'un restaurant (tres bruyant)

Vraiment direct sur la plage! Vous descendez de votre balcon et vous y êtes! Près d'une épicerie (très commode!). Endroit tranquille, propre et parfait pour un voyage en amoureux ou en famille

Un point moche a considérer: un seul rouleau de papier de toilettes est fourni. Si on a besoin d'un rouleau supplémentaire, on doit payer($$$) ou aller en acheter un paquet (de 6-8!) à l'épicerie

Bungalow vieillots, du bruit jusque tard dans le nuit, une odeur nauséabonde en permanence sans doute liée aux égouts.
Bref pas à la hauteur de ce qui est annoncé sur leur site.
Je déconseille fortement

L'établissement est à côté de la plage et le personnel est très gentil. Mais tout le reste est nul: l'électricité saute en permanence, internet ne marche quasiment pas dans les chambres, la chambre est très humide etc...

Aucune photo du site ne représentait la réalité du bungalow dans lequel nous avons été logés. Sentiment d’enfermement avec très peu de lumière dans un espace restreint. Beaucoup de bruit dès le matin tôt. L’equipe est toutefois réactive et aimable. Les pieds dans l’eau n’ont pas suffit.

super séjour de 12 jours en bungalow 4 personnes vue mer.
seul petit bémol, les meubles du bungalow mérite un changement car vétuste et pas appropriés pour 4 personnes( trop petit, pas assez de rangement pour les affaires).
personnels au top.
