Les gouvernantes étaient très accommodantes, nous avons manqué de rien. La chambre et la salle de bain étaient toujours soigneusement nettoyées. La réception a répondu à toutes nos demandes. Le jardinier a gentiment soufflé les feuilles du terrain de tennis à notre demande. Toute l’équipe nous a servie avec courtoisie et sourire. Le site est agréable avec un très beau jardin et un magnifique paysage de la mer et Fort de France au loin. C’est aussi situé tout près village avec restos et petites boutiques. La plage est magnifique, très peu de vagues et l’eau est propre. Nous y retournerons avec les enfants.

L’accueil était très chaleureux. Les employés super gentil et prêt a aider. Jean-Michel à la reception était vraiment super.
L’hotel est situé sur une superbe petite plage parfait pour la plongée en apné. Il y a beaucoup a voir.
On avait une chambre sur le jardin, la vue était magnifique avec les palmiers et la mer au loin. La chambre était grande, tranquille, propre, lits très comfortable. Le service de chambre était tres bien et les bouteilles d’eau gratuite étaient très appréciés. La chambre avait un frigidaire, coffre fort et suffisament d’espace de rangement pour une famille de 4. L’hotel est très bien situé, café, resto shopping et marina à 5 mins de marche. Je recommande fortement cet hotel.

Honestly, the rooms were clean, a bit outdated but clean. Really appreciated the coffee machine and Nespresso refills every day, it allows us to enjoy the morning on the balcony before we started the day and explore the island. The hotel offers private beach access, so at the end of the day when we are back we get to relax there. Great restaurants in the village, walkable. The only negative - never got a hot water shower in the evening, just luke warm.

We had a four nights stay at Hotel Bakoua, and we loved the proximity to the ocean and the coconut bar where you could get drinks and food during the day while you were on the beach! Loungers and umbrellas on the beach were really nice and the beach was clean and not crowded. The hotel was a little old and needed some updates. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms and showers were nice although there was a drought and we didn’t have water one night! They gave us plenty of bottled water! Restaurants were nice and all the stuff were great! It was a great location close to the Creole village with lots of shopping and restaurants within five minutes walk of the hotel , the hotel was lit up really well at night and you felt safe walking with security all around. We would stay there again as it was very reasonably priced and we loved the beach. We had 12 friends staying there at the same time so we were a big group and they managed to seat us all together in the restaurant , and the food was pretty good. I would give the hotel an overall 3 to 4 star rating.

RUDE STAFF, BEYOND RUDE. If you are not fluent in french, all staff members will pretend not to understand you. This place had broken beds and rooms in a BEYOND aweful state. I should have trusted the reviews and saved my money. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY that was spent on this hotel.

Amazing!

An Amazing find! Great room, ( quality sheets and towels) and helpful staff. Right on the beach and always a bed available. Good swimming and snorkeling - saw lots of different species of fish.
A few minutes walk into the cute ‘village’ with great informal restaurants - you feel you’re in France with the food- AND a boulangerie!! Definitely would return!!

Niel at the front desk was soooo sweet and amazing. The rooms on the beach are the nicest so I would suggest those. The other rooms were nice but the AC leaked for a few days before they came to fix it. The food was overpriced but good at the restaurant. The people at the beach bar were rude. I may stay again if they make upgrades.

The location is superb right in the middle of Trois Ilets with an infinity pool overlooking the beach and a bar for cocktails and drinks after 4pm. The beach is excellent for swimming, snorkeling or just wading around. It’s shallow for our toddler and gets deep enough further out for the older ones.

The hotel is outdated with simple furniture but the rooms are clean with a balcony. We had a spacious room with two double beds and space for a crib they provided. The balcony overlooked many palm trees and the beach and it was very quite. They have a buffet at the beach restaurant, La Sirene on Sundays with a live band so it was nice to hear it from our balcony.

The staff is very friendly with Keny, Cristian, and another gentleman at the front desk being very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is decent at 20 euro person with the usual fruits, pastries, salads with ham and cheese, boil your own eggs station and a cook for hot eggs and omelettes and crepes and coffee and juice, etc. a crepe with ham, cheese, and mushrooms cost 9 euro outside, so this buffet is worth it for the variety and amount of foods you get. And they won’t mind if you take away a banana or yogurt for a snack later.

They have lounge chairs and think beach towels for hotel guests which are very nice. There’s also a cute Cocoa Bar right on the beach for drinks and sandwiches. We went there daily. It’s worth it to stay here.

This is a great place 6 days per week. Beware, however: every Thursday there is a massive outdoor party with ear-shattering music that lasts from 8pm until 2am. This is not your ordinary hotel party. The bass will shake the pictures on the walls and loosen your fillings. There are no rooms in the hotel where the noise level will be bearable. If you like parties, this is great. If you are trying to put your kids to sleep, get ready for a bad time. Families should definitely stay somewhere else on Thursdays.

The is a great area, the environment is splendid, but the hotel did not aged well. There has not been enough maintenance or care brought to the place and it is a real pity. Most of the staff members should not be in the business. They are just sinking it by the way they behave. We were happy to have Air France flight attendants staying over, since it did help getting better breakfast experience. We will most probably not be back there, and would of course not recommend the place to people we care about.

Rare hotels that has it's own private beach in Martinique. Good location, lots to do around. Hotel has good potential but is a little run down in places. I am sure it used to be very nice but has not seen enough maintenance. Breakfast is OK, not great but you have other options at walking distance. We had a few good meals there but again, not spectacular. A few staff were nice but most are quite cold and not particularly interested in assisting you.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bakoua. We researched hotels with enormous scrutiny and chose this one with an upgraded room right on the beach....im so happy with the choice and spending a bit more. We paid for breakfast on the 2 mornings and though at 20euro a person is high, you get pretty great food(imported cheese) with a spectacular view. All around hotel service was amazing, rooms dont provide lotion, so pack some. They do offer 1l water bottle each day. Very quiet area, adjacent creole village was very nice for food and shops.

Excellent location, good room with comfortable bed. Overall infra somewhat weared out. My stay got a very negative turn due to the rude behavior of the receptionist. Both at check-in and check-out the desk was empty. At check-out he managed even to say a single word. This is the service at the most reputable hotel on the island where a client is treated like a dirty towel. I’m a frequent business traveller over 35 years and I’m afraid that this is my most shocking experience

Excellent beach location and plenty of beach chairs and shade. Beautiful pool area although chairs not as comfortable and no umbrellas. Good location for ferry to Fort de France. Everyone was friendly. Restaurant stated to be every night but often there are changes to a special menu by the beach instead. Lunch options at the beach could be more extensive with longer hours.

We had a room on the beach which was so ideal. The location of the hotel was perfect, easy to walk to the town which had a lot of restaurants, shops and the marina. The room was small, but functional. There is not much help from the hotel to plan activities and excursions, but as for a place to stay and relax, I would recommend it highly.

I love my room with sea view! It was really worth it!
I also enjoy the open spaces in the hotel. The food at the restaurant La Sirène was wonderful.
The only downside were the parties and weddings going on during my stay: 3 out of 7 nights with loud music or live band until 2:00 A.M. It is common in July and August but not really the rest of the year.

Adequate room, clean and comfortable - coffee, milk and hair conditioner not replenished once used, which was disappointing, despite requests. Reception staff very helpful and welcoming, but all other staff quite surly. Food at all restaurants was good, but very expensive. The location of the hotel, minutes away from shops (great boutique shopping as well as swimwear/t shirt shopping), restaurants and bars, was perfect. It is also minutes away from the marina, from where you can get ferries or leisure boat trips. Beach was good, felt like a very safe bay for swimming. The entrance lobby, bar and main restaurant area had a lovely old colonial feel, a little tired, but that was part of the appeal.

A pleasant surprise

Our 1st time on Martinique. We loved the sprawling open air 1st floor. We couldn't believe that our room was 15' from the beach and 40' from the water. We liked the covered private patio outside the room and used it a lot (note, this made up for the somewhat small room size). There was a nice deep tub for my wife and a shower for me. The free breakfast included pretty much every breakfast food you could imagine (salad?)

The hotel appeared to be 40-50 years old but was very well maintained and clean.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Unlike St. Martin, where I'd estimate 9/10 residents speak English, I would estimate 1/4 Martinique residents speak English. My wife and I speak some French, so we had to step our game up, but when there were problems communicating with a staff member, they would find someone who spoke English.

We greatly enjoyed our stay, we will go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our last four days on Martinique here. A very comfortable, well appointed clean hotel with good amenities in lovely grounds with beautiful views. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent service. In a good area for sightseeing and beaches. Very good breakfast and dinner in the hotel dining room and Sunday buffet in the beach restaurant. Good location but needs staff training and refurbi

Location is very good especially if you have a car. However they took no notice of my request not to have a ground floor room ( how hard is that in low season?) and apart from that, the attitude of staff was poor. If I asked for something- like a copy of the bill (it was booked throgh Expedia) they told me to ask Expedia for it and the attitude was not at all helpful. Also no lifts to the lower rooms. Food choice at the restaurant is limited but there are plenty of outside restaurants within walking distance. Given the price I probably wouldn’t go back.

Overall the hotel was much better than expected. We were in an ocean view room with a patio right on the beach, so had superb views across the man-made bay. Room a bit dated, especially the bathroom, but had a new smart TV and coffee machine. The bed, strangely, was very uncomfortable. We were very happy with the price as we got a deal for 3 nights free.
- The staff were helpful when they could be, but most only know basic English, so it was useful that one of us speaks French.
- The hotel should inform you when cruise ships are expected or there are events in the restaurant. On a couple of days the beach and grounds became very crowded and we had no idea in advance.
- The hotel is in the far south-west of the island, so rent a car so you're not trapped in the local area. Martinique is stunning. Visit an agricole rum plantation and buy some white and vieux bottles. The replica plantation / creole village nearby is also worth seeing. Go wander around Fort de France; it's tiny so will only take an afternoon.
- It only rained once, but it was apocalyptic and lasted an entire day.
- Learn to play the local domino rules. Drink ti' punch.

Hotel is very, very dated. Doesn't look like it has been renovated in at least 20-30 years. You will need a converter for electrical. Only found 2 electrical outlets that worked in the room. Beach is very nice. Not much of a choice of restaurants because none of them are open at the same time. Breakfast at the hotel is very expensive for your choices. Coco Bar at the beach is very good. Pick the \"onion sauce\". Drinks are mixed right and strong. The staff at the hotel was excellent. They did everything possible for the patrons. One of the nicest things about the location is it is very close to the \"village\" where you can shop and find many restaurants that are really nice. Also close to the marina for ferries and excursions.

Lovely island - not typical of Caribbean in some areas. Good location, hotel nice with great breakfast, rooms overlooking beach bit dated but super view from balcony and clean/comfortable, lovely beach does not get overcrowded and super view across bay towards Fort de France and Mount Pelee. Good selection of restaurants in village gives variety as one restaurant in hotel for evening meal lacked atmosphere being in wide open area. Particularly liked the one with meals cooked \"on the stone\". Meals can be pricy. Worth getting car for few days to take look round island and see Mount Pelee, the East coast has great boarding beach at Le Francois to enjoy/sit in the sun at one of the numerous drink stalls/restaurants and narrow roads can take you up mountain where many villages are perched to take in the fabulus views. Feb saw many heavy showers - only lasting a few minutes mostly - but be prepared to shelter when required. Fort de France can be reached by ferry - but very disappointing town, lacked character, Fort not open to public and just lots of shops/boutiques selling tacky carnival gear.

Do whatever you can to not stay here. Our rooms were not ready until after 7pm, half the staff seemed like they didn't even care. We were not offered a drink or a complimentary meal by the beach and when we got to our rooms, only one was ready. The interior is in desperate need of an update, the staff at the beach bar are surly and take almost 20 minutes to pour two cokes which they then charge you 8E for. The security is non existent so I wouldn't leave anything in your car. The restaurant was closed and so we were charged 58E for a terrible buffet that we promptly got sick from

Presidents Weekend Escape to the Caribbean

A delightful location on the western (Caribbean) side of Martinique. Water and air extremely tranquil and warm with both at 83 degrees all week. As a department of France, all communication was primarily French, although English could be used when needed. Hotel was slightly dated with limited electrical outlets, but complete with in room safe and mini-fridge. As with other European facilities, extra towels and coffee needed to be requested, but the location and views certainly offset any minor inconveniences.

Very nice hotel and right on the beach. Great Stay

We were 2 couples and had a wonderful experience and enjoyed our stay. The view from the hotel was awesome. The Hotel Bakoua has a few restaurants and the lovely Coco Bar, right in the beach area. The Hotel Bakoua is centrally located in the town of Trois-Ilets and close to many fine restaurants as well as a little supermarket for supplies. The hotel staff, especially Line- Rose was quite helpful and made some very good suggestions for lunch and dinner. In order to get around to other parts of the island one should rent a car and if you are not nervous about driving it is a great island to visit. We drove up to Le Carbet and spent the day at the Petit Bonhonum beach and restaurant. It was a lovely day.

The only issue was the shower without an entire door. It was hard not to get the floor wet and I slipped and fell the first day.

Our stay at the Hotel Bakoua Les Trois Ilets was wonderful. The location is excellent, close to shops and activities. The staff was always friendly, courteous and helpful, especially Jean Michel, Line-Rose and Alice at the front desk. Also the housekeeper who was cleaning room 114 on Sunday, January 15 (I'm sorry I did not get her name). We had just checked in the night before and were wandering aimlessly looking for beach towels, she went and got some for us. Also, the nice kid who takes drink orders on the beach was so friendly and helpful all the time.
We had a garden room which was a little dated but very clean.
We checked out on Saturday, January 21 at 5am only to get to the airport to find out our flight had been cancelled. After making other flight arrangements, I called the hotel and explained our situation, we were told we could return to the hotel and were given a room to change, beach towels and they stored our luggage so we could spend the day at the beach.

The Bakuoa is a lovely property with a pleasant private beach, small but accommodating infinity pool, lots of activities at the site and nearby (interesting sailing vessels, for example). It is close to outside amenities, restaurants, a small grocery store, souvenir shops, etc.

We got to the hotel, nervous about the language barrier as we do not speak French at all. The front desk staff, Jean Michel, was very friendly and helpful and went beyond and above to help us throughout our stay there. Our room was clean and quiet, right on the beach. We only tried one of their restaurants there but it was amazing. English menu available.

We stayed at Hotel Bakaou for 4 nights after 3 nights at Club Med. They were both great but I will give Hotel Bakoua the edge. I like the 2 minute walk into town for other dinning options. Felt very safe, about 1 out of 20 people speak English. Drove around the whole island 1 day and the southern half has the better beaches.

Good choice for a beach-side hotel in Martinique.

This hotel is a greatt choice because it is right on a great beach, also has a very nice pool, and bar. The rooms are a little dated, but most are in Martinique. It is worth staying here for the location, although a sea-view room is not right on the water. If you want that pay extra for the ocean-front lodging.

Skip the expensive breakfast and go into the nearby village for pastries & breakfast.

Romantic, Scenic, Relaxing

As a first time guest at this hotel, I was highly impressed with the level of service from check-in to check-out. Our room was very comfortable and the view of the beach was stunning. All the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful and very patient with our minimal French speaking skills- only a few things got \"lost in translation.\" Outside of the hotel is the Village Creole- a wonderful place to explore alternative food and beverage options. We felt very safe meandering through streets and talking with vendors. There is an ATM conveniently located there as well! Do yourself a favor and book a reservation here soon!

We spent two days at Bakoua and enjoyed our stay. It's a great place if you want to stay in one place or visit Fort de France by ferry, but it's not that convenient to some of the more distant points on the island.

Very nice location but the rooms/hotel is very dated (1980s) when it comes to style and finish. Service OK but nothing spectacular, too expensive. There is a hotel across the street (forgot name) which is slightly cheaper and has just been refurbished - one of our friends stayed there

Best Hotel on Martinique for Overall Experience!

I spent 9 days traveling around Martinique staying at 8 different hotels. This was the best overall hotel on the island for bedding, location, beach, bar and hospitality! The food in the main restaurant was great and included live music. The bar makes a killer martini rouge. You have the option of swimming in the infinity pool above or the beach below. The bedding offered the best sleep out of all the hotels I stayed. I spent two nights here and would definitely return for an extended stay. There's not much night life in Martinique, and good restaurants are hard to come by in town, so the amenities of the hotel are critical for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend!

We had a quiet room and loved the stay.

When we arrived the receptionist told us that the room was assigned to us and we would not have an option to change it if we didn't like to room or the location because the hotel was completely booked. Our room turned out to be ok and was quiet during the whole stay. We loved the breakfast buffet and the view from the restaurant although we had to pay EUR 20 per person and day extra. Most guests' breakfast seemed to be included, but the Expedia reservation stated that we would be charged for breakfast EUR 20. However, this didn't reduce our enjoyable experience of the stay.

we arrived late and the staff went out of their way to get us a room because our original room was occupied. They were apologetic and helpful. We wound up with a great room with a view of the garden. We had ordered drinks in the bar - which were complimentary because of the room mixup. Breakfast was a nice buffet in the European style. We were only there one night before heading out to Tartane but it was a good place to stay and very comfortable. Some advice - leave your car parked at the hotel and walk to the town and \"creole village\" - navigating the streets is tough and parking is impossible!

There is no reason to stay at a hotel like this

There is no reason to stay at a hotel like this. It's way nicer to get a small boutique hotel in a small fishing village - that it what Marinique is all about. the beach is crowded, the place is run down, the management runs it too strictly and are unhelpful. No character at all. Martinique is not known for its resorts, and for good reason, way better to travel to other parts.

The Best Hotel in Martinique!

One of the best things my wife and I found at the hotel was the hotel staff. As I planned the trip last fall, I contacted the hotel via email to ask specific questions about the room I reserved. I was answered by Lucile Theron who immediately emailed me back and provided important information about the Internet performance. I had to work while I was at the hotel using the Internet, so performance was important to me. It worked fine, I did not miss a beat on my job. I got to meet Lucille at the hotel during my stay. She is a tremendous asset to the hotel – it seemed like she was working 16 hour days.

We flew into Martinique after dark and managed to get lost as we drove into Point du Bout. Fortunately we had a phone with International Service and called the hotel – Lucien provided excellent directions. We arrived after 21:30, he checked us in right away and held the dining room open so we could have dinner. It does not get better than that!

The location of the hotel was also fantastic. You could easily walk to a large number of restaurants and shops. You were also a five minute walk from the ferry boat to Fort du France. For only 7 Euros you could take a round trip and the schedule made it easy.

It is a nice but very basic hotel with beach access. The beach is crowded. The wifi doesn't work or is so slow that we gave up and worked from our phones on the cell network... The best thing is that it is close to the ferry that takes you to other, nicer beaches and to Fort De France.

Would not recommend this hotel at all
The only consolation was the view from the hotel room
It is quite apparent that they don't cater very well for guests from UK or USA.
Some poor guy had stayed at the hotel for 5 days and hadn't spoken to anybody
The room first allocated was dreadful and after a fuss at reception our room was changed
I am very well travelled as a businessman and for pleasure but was glad to depart
Huge renovations were going on and we were not informed about this at all at the time of booking
Not a good experience either in the restaurant

Pros-Beautiful grounds and overall decor of the hotel with ocean view. Most of the staff speak some English and are very accommodating. The room was clean but there was mold and cracked tiles in the bathroom. They also take USD if needed and may be able to exchange small amounts.
Cons-The room was lacking outlets (we found one that was being used) The shower is very small with no shower curtain and only about a foot of wall to block splashing onto the floor.

Stay Away Until Properly Refurbished

My wife and I just visited five Caribbean islands and stayed in six different hotels over three months. This was the worst hotel. Since the hotel badly needs a refurbishing, things do not quite work. Thus, once we were locked out of our room because the lock system failed. There were also problems with the shower. MGallery Collection just broke up an arrangement with the hotel. I informed reception about our frustrations with the stay and the employee just shrugged and said: \"This is France.\" As if being French was an excuse for poor performance. Food was actually up to par.

We chose this hotel for our wedding night as it is advertised as the best hotel in Martinique but the equipment are pretty old, and the rooms lacks of charm (we had a room by the beach) and they are not soundproof, so prepare yourself to be burdened by your neighbours' noise. Apart from that, the service is very available and the maids are nice.
