The room was large and spacious and overlooked the pool with a large balcony. The hotel itself is looking a little tired. But the price, location and size of room compensated for that. We did only have one towel hook which was annoying. Breakfast was a coffee which was amazing, croissant and two boiled egg. Conveniently located to Old Town and several eateries nearby.

Easily accessible to all the shops & Sunday night market. All in walking distance. Felt very safe walking around at night through all the streets. The hotel is cute and clean. Tucked inside a coffee shop. I had a nice balcony but wished for a softer bed. After an almost 24 hour day of flying the bed was too hard.

Convenient location in Phuket Town. Excellent swimming pool and WiFi and Air conditioning. Comfortable room. Very clean. Our room had a street view and there was some noise from bars across the road between 7-12. Luckily this stopped at 12.
Useful for shops and restaurants. All in all a good place to stay

Location was great. 5 mins walk away from One Chun Cafe, 3 mins walk away from Indy Night Market. There is a Tops Supermarket nearby within walking distance. Going to The Central Mall is a 250-300 baht taxi journey… about 15 mins away. Older hotel but air con was good - strong. Can walk to Super Dim Sun & Noodle, about 8 mins walk away. Old town is about 9 mins away.

Love the decor and facilities! Got microwave, fridge & sink outside for washing cutleries! Didn’t use the bathtub as it was more economy to use shower instead. Shower tap was easy to use and shioks. However the shower curtain would be good to be longer else the water would splash out to the common toilet floor and make it slippery. Love the comfortable and big balcony as well! Suitable for our snorkeling and beach clothes to dry! Highly recommended for independent travellers as it’s near the airport bus (100baht) & 1km walk to the beach song theows (30-40baht one way) but take note of the last transport back to Phuket old town since grab Is expensive there!

Hotel in middle of extensive renovation

Picked this hotel kind of randomly for a 1 night stay in Old Phuket town. The positives: the hotel allowed a very early check in which was great after an early transfer from Bangkok. The support staff, room cleaners, etc. We're all very nice and accommodating. Everything in the room \"worked\", i.e. a/c, lights, shower, etc. all functional. The negatives: the hotel is in the middle of a major renovation! The construction starts very early in the morning and continues until very late afternoon. This means very loud saws and power tools and lots of construction people about. The hotel is very close to the old town district but there are other hotels closer.

The hotel is basic accommodation and ok for 1 or 2 nights but due to and until the construction is completed I highly recommend booking an alternative location for your stay in Old Phuket town. After the construction is completed it may well be worth a couple staying a couple nights.

Do not stay here before assurance from MGMT.

I am in hospitality, I live in Phuket but travel extensively. I do not like to ride home after wine with dinner, ususally at Suay or Salvatore’s. We usually stay at Casa Blanca or Memory at OnOn because I love to get away from 5/6*. This hotel is nothing like photo, under noisy extensive renovation. I cxl 2nd night immediately. Staff were ungracious. Housekeeping staff very good but clearly under stress. In evening when I asked for walking directions to restaurant the girl told me to sit and wait she was playing on computer and eating. It was all a surprise for my husband, I was running late so I had to move her, sit at computer, get restaurant number, make her call it. She said she could t get me a taxi. Salvatore staff not happy with her attitude. In end I walked across street and a coffee house owner took pity and rode me to restaurant. He had heard many complaints. Salvatore had too and said I had made a “big big mistake.”
Please try the other 2 hotels. Oh and though I requested in my booking, I was told they don’t have ice ... go to supermarket...and I won’t even tell you about their idea of a double bed.
Lastly, I have never written a review as scathing as this, ever. Because of my understanding of the industry I’m more forgiving than most but WOW, even my driver (business friend) said he was treated poorly.

Stayed here for one night and I have absolutely no complaints. Granted I missed any construction going on... the neighborhood had plenty to do and see and the service was good.
I had a very early flight-4am and since only security is working past midnight the woman who worked the front desk actually woke up and helped me order a cab.
Also, I booked my stay on the wrong night and they were very accommodating. The room was very large, it was clean and the pool looked nice!

Very disappointed!!!

We chose this hotel because of the nice reviews. We were extremely disappointed due to the following reasons:
1. They are currently undergoing some major renovations. Work starts at 8:30am - the noise, from knocking down the walls or something, is extremely loud that you won't be able to sleep or stay inside the room. The ceiling & the floor of the room are shaking (I am not exaggerating!). There is no way that one can enjoy the stay with this kind of unbearable loud noise!
2. Due to the renovations, the major way of getting into the hotel is blocked and there is no sign to tell people how to access to the lobby. We found the sidewalk which is filled with wild grasses and the stone path is not even stable for older people to walk onto it.
3. The staff - only one staff is helpful and speaks enough English to communicate! Others look at their mobile all the times. They don't even look when people walk pass. They couldn't even help to arrange a car to go to the Phuket Weekend Night Market at 5pm. The staff said the driver is off and then I asked for a taxi. She said taxi is also on holiday. I've never experienced this in Thailand. Have been to Thailand more than 20 times and hotel can always help to arrange a car/ taxi.
If you are thinking of night life, this is definitely not a hotel for you. Patong area is 30 mins away. If the hotel cannot arrange transportation, it's not easy to get there. Will definitely won't stay at this hotel again!

Nice hotel in Phuket.
The room is nice and large and has a kitchenette.

The mall/supermarket across the street is a PLUS.

Negative things:
NOISE:
There were constructions across the street that woke us up very early but that is not the hotel's fault.
However, there is no carpet so you can hear people's bags rolling on the floor as they check out early in the morning.
The staff itself was speaking loudly in the hallway at 7am. Very not happy about that.

The swimming pool is nice too but is in the shade very early in the afternoon, so you won't get any sun.

SMOKE: the smoke from other rooms would get inside our room through the balcony and AC. Disgusting.

WIFI: it absolutely sucks! Wasn't able to navigate the internet at all while connected to their wifi. We stayed in room 201

Did I like the hotel? Yes, definitely for the price.
I would consider staying there again but hopefully it wouldn't be as noisy and we won't be surrounded by disgusting smokers.

We stayed here for 2 nights as it was near Rassada Pier, and we wanted to go to the elephant sanctuary before catching the ferry to Krabi. The location of this hotel is great; you can walk to everything you would need (food, bars, shops etc). There is a mini-mall right across the street! The hotel staff are friendly, and will go above and beyond to try and help you with whatever you need. We needed a taxi and they didn't understand where were going or how to get there, so the receptionist looked it up and provided directions to our taxi driver. She also got him to lower the price for us. The room was great- clean and spacious. We had a soaker tub and a shower in the bathroom. We had a pool view, and the hotel is just like the picture. The a/c was great too; we needed a blanket at night because we were freezing. The hotel is quiet so you can get a good nights sleep, but if you want a party you can walk 5 minutes down the street. We saw couples and only one family at this hotel.

One thing I will say - the minibar isn't entirely free. If you take the chips or the juice boxes they will charge you. The rest you can take with no issues (beer, pop, oreos). They don't tell you this upfront, but you'll find out when you go to leave!

Not a fancy hotel but safe.comfortable and very affordable..The only suggestion is for the hotel to leave a few dishes, cutlery , and dish soap for guests to use as there is a lot of take away food.

Great little spot in town, but not on the beach

This hotel delivered everything promised. It is small and quiet, right in the middle of town, with lots of small restaurants and cafes nearby (with local clients, not just tourists). The Sunday evening market was especially lovely. It isn't on or near the beach, but offers something different - a more authentic Thai experience. If you're looking for a true beach vacation, this isn't the spot. However, if you are in Phuket and want to experience a bit of \"Thailand\" rather than simply being on the beach with thousands of Russian and Chinese tourists, I would recommend it. In my opinion, Phuket Town would be a great base if you were in Phuket for 2 weeks or more, and wanted to go out to different beaches (or attractions) for day trips by bus or rental car. (I felt like I was being conned every time we used a taxi or tuktuk). For example, the bus system is a 'hub and spoke' system from Phuket Town, so getting in and out is easy (unlike being in one of the beaches where you can't get to another beach directly - the taxi mafia seems to have eliminated the competition).

We stayed for 3D2N. Really satisfied with the room, spacious for 3 of us. It's a Pool View and very nice with balcony which they provided the tea table and chair. The bed room is clean as well as the bath room with basic toiletries. They provided microwave that made our life so easy to heat any instant food. Fridge, Kettle and free drink water.

Stayed for 1 night in June. We arrived very early in the morning but the reception was pleased to check us in. The hotel might not be big and lacks full amenities, but it makes up with its cosiness and warm and pleasant staff. The room we stayed in was big and comfortable and the sheets and towels were clean and white. The hotel itself is next to a park with a number of restaurants and a small shopping centre across the road. The town centre is easily accessible on foot. All in all a pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is really worth its price. I think this hotel has just been renovated, so the facilities and the room are in a good condition. The room is very clean and tidy. Bathroom is new and pleasant to use. We booked the studio room for 3 persons with 1 extra bed, and the room still spacious and comfortable for the stay. There's also a nice swimming pool which is clean and silent. You can check the detail of each room type in their website and the information there is reliable. There's a parking lot also so don't worry if you hire a car for the trip. The location is spot on. Opposite the hotel is the small shopping mall and the convenience store. Nearby there are also nice 2 famous restaurants which you can walk 5 minutes from the hotel. You can also walk for the local food in Phuket town area also.

What a pleasnt surprise

This hotel is excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge and very well appointed. There is a great little swimming pool too. The mall is literally across the road, with a night market on the doorstep too. I highly recommend this place.

Very good location

The hotel is in a very central location. Close to everywhere, restaurants, shops and the pier. The staffs on the front desk are very friendly, those girls always have a smile on their faces, no matter how many time we dropped off or picked up our room key on one day.

As usual, a warm welcome.

A perfect hotel for the visitor to Phuket who is not interested in the flesh pots of Patong and wants to be based centrally in Phuket. Excellent restaurants all within walking distance.

The penthouses are large good value for the money but the rooms are also large and adequate for a short stay.

The only item I would ask for in future is a safe in the room.

This is our third stay in four years at the Baan Suwantawe and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to locate centrally and visit the old town.
