Nuestra experiencia en el hotel Fénix Beach siempre ha sido espectacular. Desde el momento en que llegas, el lugar transmite tranquilidad, buena energía y una vibra perfecta para desconectarse de la rutina y realmente descansar.

El ambiente es increíble. La combinación de la playa, la música, los espacios del hotel y la atención hacen que la experiencia se sienta muy especial. Es de esos lugares donde uno puede simplemente relajarse, disfrutar el momento y pasar tiempo de calidad en pareja.

El servicio merece una mención aparte porque todo el personal es extremadamente amable y atento. Siempre están pendientes de cada detalle y hacen que uno se sienta bien recibido durante toda la estadía.

La comida también es deliciosa. Todo lo que probamos tenía muy buen sabor, buena presentación y se nota el cuidado que le ponen a la experiencia gastronómica.

Definitivamente se ha convertido en uno de nuestros hoteles favoritos en Cartagena para escaparnos unos días, descansar, disfrutar juntos y salir renovados. Súper recomendado para parejas que quieran vivir una experiencia diferente, tranquila y con un ambiente espectacular.

Excellent stay, they offered yoga but it was not available every day which was disappointing.
Should also look into trying to coordinate with scheduled activities into Cartagena if guests need to leave before 10 AM otherwise they will not be able to attend.
Breakfast options were very limited, for tourists who have children.

Water amenities like paddle boarding, kayaking, parasailing all great opportunities.
Would recommend using www.getvibevid.com to help with Marketing tools for more tourism opportunities and creating videos.

I wish I was being exaggerated when I say, this hotel almost ruined the entire Cartagena trip for us. Before I get into it I will add some considerations because I do not want to be unfair in this review.

When booking this hotel, it is NOT very clear that this is on a completely separate island from the city of Cartagena, it is isolated and you have to take a boat back and fourth everytime you need to go. So for other travelers that aren't familiar with the term \"on the beach\" for many of these international places, it doesn't mean a hotel by the beach, it means a hotel on an island. So i wish it was worded better, but I will take accountability for that.

Now, several factors going into this I want to start with, we left the property 3 days before checkout because we couldn't bear staying there anymore. I don't have unlimited characters so I will short form it: The food was pricier than a lot of mainland spots and didn't taste good, no hotwater to shower first day, bugs everywhere in room crawling in bed to us, boat schedule inconveinent and not timely (can get costly as well out of free hours), the beach area dirty and pillows laid on / urinated on by wild dogs, staff (not all but a handful) not very courteous and they do not seem to care it is just a job to them.

We had to book another hotel and just check out early even though we paid for 3 additional days we didn't use. This hotel single-handedly ruined Cartagena first time experience for us. Not worth pricing.

If you are planning a trip to relax, this one is not the property, loud music until 3 in the morning, no one was at the property to get the situation under control. The room was clean but the air conditioning was not cooling enough. Food was good.

We went to the port on a Tuesday afternoon and it was easy to find the staff. They also communicate by WhatsApp. The boat rides went fine.

The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful.

If you want a second cup of coffee during the breakfast, you'll have to flag the staff down.

The hotel room was good and we liked the bed.

Lots of beach loungers with shade available during the midweek.

Food was good, but a bit pricey.

Beach was nice, the water could be rough if boats pass by. The water isn't as clear as the other islands but this one is much closer to the city.

The resort dogs and cats were friendly.

There are day pass visitors but we didn't feel like impacted the service level from the staff.

We didn't like that the jet ski staff would ride into the designated swim spot. Seems like an accident could happen and it also makes the water quality worse.

One thing to note about the property is that they asked for reviews from us several times.

The most horrible experience, we took the house, and it was very nice but when we arrived they was waiting for us to charge extra money for each person, I booked a house for 8 people and it was suppose to be for my family of 5, but when we arrive they charge for each person I was very mad because they never said anything for us before to charge the book it’s obvio you book a house for 8 we will be more than one. And at this time I tried to book one more room because it was so expensive at the end to the argument the manager said ok I’ll make an adjustment but it was too late because I booked another room I asked for the refund and they took my money!! The place is beautiful but the manager and some people that work over there are so rude!! Definitely I’m not coming back, my friend asked me and reference to them don’t go! They are waiting to see what they can charged for you

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in a room with a private pool. The room itself was nice and comfortable, although the private pool was not very impressive and didn’t add much to the experience.The hotel has only one restaurant available and unfortunately the food there was not very good. Also, there is not much to do around the property, so it can feel a bit boring if you are looking for activities.However, if you are looking for a quiet place to completely relax and disconnect, it can be a good option. The staff were very nice and friendly, and we especially loved the dogs around the property 🐕, which added a charming touch to the stay

I think Fenix Beach has potential to be a great hotel but it needs serious upgrades. The room we got is not exactly what was advertised and neither was the entire experience. When I booked the reservation, no one at the hotel indicated that we needed to coordinate our own transportation to get on the island. We were there for Christmas and when we arrived we were told that we needed to order Christmas dinner specifically otherwise we would not have access to food for the rest of the evening. The rooms are dilapidated at best and our mosquito net was ripped. The guy at the front desk was asleep when when we went to ask him a question. There’s no way to contact reception unless you leave your room and walk all the way to them. Don’t get me started with the dogs and cats. I mean I like pets but it seemed a bit odd to see dogs and cats roaming around and sitting on countertops. What if I had an allergy? The showers were disgusting and I actually was scared to shower in them or even use the bathroom.

We were never able to check in because we never received the check in email or ever heard back from them after multiple messages and phone calls on how to get to the boat. We arrived in cartegena with no help from them at all. I’m extremely upset and it is all completely unacceptable!

I loved the beautiful property. There’s so many beautiful areas for photos and the beds are super comfortable. The beach view is great and the staff were amazing. We did find the food and drinks a bit pricey and there was a slight odor in our room. Also we did not know about boat times and we sent several messages and the response time was very slow so we ended up canceling three of the days we were going to stay there due to not being able to get a boat after our flight or before our early morning flight out and they refused to refund that day which was pretty disappointing since we didn’t stay there however I would recommend but be sure to read all fine print and contact them way in advance

My toilet in my room kept overflowing even after it was fixed the first time. No phone so I would have to leave my room if I desired anything for me or for the room. Early morning construction woke me up. At night dogs around the property would bark at night, and worse if it starts to rain. I saw dogs without their leash and saw two cats around the reception area. I mean why have animals wandering around the property? One of the dogs barked at me as it was blocking the path to go to my room. Furniture at the beach were dirty and covered with ants. I went to gag some breakfast and I sat down waiting for 15 minutes to be served. I lost my patience and left. Thank goodness there were snacks in my room and water in my minibar. I miss the hop on and off bus tour because the boat couldn’t make it on time to the hotel due to the rain. Plus as I walked around to explore the property the walkway had cracks and I almost fell. I was miserable

As there is a character limit, here are the pain points of this location:
- Service/Staff - LOL what service? They would openly ignore the guests and/or you would have to request the same thing numerous times. Still lucky if you ever received it. Then at checkout you are greeted with a hidden gratuity fee. FOR WHAT?
-Responsiveness- you have to arrive via ferry. Extremely difficult to book/communicate with the hotel, as they are unresponsive or delayed. We were told multiple times we didn’t have a reservation at the hotel when trying to book transportation.
-checkout - during my stay I cut my finger on a piece of glass (found on their beach) and wiped it on a towel. At checkout they proceeded to showcase the towel as if it were a flag, in front of multiple guests telling us they would be charging us for the towel. I’ve never experienced this before, I was fine with being charged for the item, but the way they openly displayed it to try and shame the customer was a new one.
PRO’s
Pepe (vendor) / 1 bartender - these are the only two knowledgeable people at this location. They are the only ones that demonstrated any type of service or care for the guests.

We enjoyed our stay at fenix beach club! We stayed in the deluxe bungalow which was very nice and cleaned daily. Though the downfalls of fenix for us were the food price for relatively mediocre food as well as the slow service during breakfast and dinner time as we waited on average of 45 minutes just to be served. However the staff were very kind and helpful which made the overall stay at fenix very enjoyable and we would recommend staying there to anyone in the future.

We booked a private transportation through customer service to go to Cartagena at 8:00 am. When we we're checking out, the receptionist wasn't aware of this service, and we departed 50 min after the time expected. We ended up missing a booked transportation we had scheduled at 9:00 am, and had to pay extra money plus the private service we already payed. This is unfortunate that due to the lack of comunnication, we had to go though all this.

THERE ARE NO HOT WATER AT THIS HOTEL!
Rooms do not have basic amenities such as, Iron, blow dryer, and no hot water at all of the hotel! so yes, you will need to shower with cold water!
This hotel doesn't look as nice as in the pictures and it is definitely not a 4 starts Hotel as rated by Expedia!
If you are looking for a nice hotel, it is not the place, it more for a low budget travel.

The property was unorganized and on a remote island where we had to pay cash to a local boater to take across the Atlantic ocean to get too. I understood there was a storm beforehand but that doesnt excuse the fact that we had no running water. I could've been okay with no hot water temporarily but no water equals rough times.
We luckily had a private pool and used this for water in the toilet for both my wife and myselfs bathroom sessions to be able to flush the toilet. No fun!
There also were many dogs on the island in which is not a problem if there were a just a few and taken care of. But there was feces in the sand throughout the property and unfortunately at night you cant see it. So on top of no water, feces on my shoe and the mosquito fiasco we were not happy.

The property needs more attention by the owner. The staff that work over there vey kind people, I would like to also tell you guys that if you go over there, Jackson, Jesus, Carlos, ibama and Lilli they are amaizing humans be. If you can stay at the island the whole trip would be better. I’m telling you this cause at Cartagena specifically in gestameni we got scam by the people over there. Do not go to Cartagena stay at the island. You can trust the people at the island.

La propiedad necesita más atención por parte del dueño. El personal es muy amable. También quiero decirles que si van allí, Jackson, Jesús, Carlos, Ibama y Lilli son personas increíbles. Si pudieran quedarse en la isla, el viaje sería mucho mejor. Les digo esto por que en Cartagena, específicamente en gestameni, nos estafaron. No vayan a Cartagena, quédense en la isla. Pueden confiar en la gente de la isla.

No deberían cobrar el transporte en lancha, ya que no hay otra forma de llegar debería estar incluido dentro del paquete. No avisan eso y hasta que llegan al hotel nos cobraron.

El lugar es lindo y las habitaciones son súper cómodas, pero la playa tiene mucho oleaje y piedras en el suelo, es mejor buscar las Islas del Rosario.

El staff no es atento. Teníamos que pedir lo mismo a muchas personas y nadie nos atendía, especialmente los muchachos son muy groseros (éramos dos chicas viajando). Además, no realizaron ninguna actividad extra durante los dos días que estuvimos.

En resumen, no recomendaría el lugar, buscaría uno en las Islas del Rosario.

Lovely place though the beach waters were not transparent like the images. I was really looking forward to my stay but overall was a little disappointed for the price. You have to go by boat so it’s not the place behind a place that you can come and go easily. When I reached out to the hotel via email to get answers, the person responding seems to have no clue. You have to take a boat either at one or five, which means that you spend two hours waiting for check-in And your day kind of gets killed. The first day waiting. Poor service. I could not get a single waiter to take my order despite their being like five people looking at their phones. That same night I had a similar problem and the next day same thing. That was a little surprising because there’s so much staff. Overall, they need to have better training for their people, but it’s a nice place. Lovely woman doing yoga was the most attentive person.. one of the days we had full construction and sound at the beach all day and that was the one day that I had designated not to work— so that was disappointing.

We stayed in Villa 4 and were never informed about construction at Villa 3, right next door. On our first night, hammering continued past 10 PM. I messaged the hotel via WhatsApp, but they never responded. The next night, it happened again, and I had to go to reception before anyone told them to stop.

The next morning at 8 AM, the hammering started again. With three nights left, we asked for a refund for the last two nights, but the hotel refused. The boss denied the noise ever happened, implying I was lying—good thing I recorded it! She also lied to her staff, saying she had spoken to me when she hadn’t.

The outdoor bathroom was covered in dust and paint from next door. The pool was always dirty with leaves, bird droppings, and bugs. At night, bats flew around the pool, feeding on the insects.

The food was overpriced and mediocre, with a limited menu.

The only positive was the staff, especially Jesús, who went above and beyond.

We left early to stay in the city. While we got a small food discount thanks to my audio recording, this was a terrible experience.

I do NOT recommend this place unless major changes are made.

I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful country of Colombia with my sisters and daughter just this past week needless to say it's absolutely beautiful & colorful!
We stayed at Fenix Beach Cartagena- would like to shout out Wessley he was amazing his customer service was the best received through our stay with that said we had many inconveniences at this location that let us not wanting to return or recommend to anyone.
1. The room we booked was WITH a king size bed in which we did not get in our room.
2. The wait at the airport was so extensive we had to pay for an additional charge of $30,000 pesos ($7.31 USD) per hour our driver waited which that wasn't the problem the issue is once at the hotel and after checking in we owed an additional $5,000 pesos per hour because it was $35k not $30k.
3. The food took 1 1/2- 2 hours to come out, twice they forgot about my food after the long wait the hotel wasn't even busy to say that was an excuse.
4. The boat to the city- boat is on a schedule to and from the city when the times were provided, they didn't mention an additional charge until getting on the boat they stated if we wanted to go to the city, it was a charge per person.
5. We purchased a bottle (off the property) asked for ice and lime since the bottle wasn't purchased there they would provide for a fee of $100,000 pesos ($24.37 USD)
6. Upon checking out they stated we \"stained\" a towel and charged us $50,000 pesos ($12.19 USD) towel was not stained it was dirty.

Perfect for couples for two days max. Its beautiful and staff is extremely attentive. Be warned.. hot water isnt a thing on the island and the location makes it hard to get anywhere.
There are tons of fur friends that makr yhe experience a bit fun.

Fantastic suite, not fantastic service.

Our suite was fantastic, with a private pool. Food was decent. The service, especially at the front desk, was pretty horrible. When we checked in there was a woman who didn’t help anyone, and kept rolling her eyes. It took an extra hour to get into our room, and they tried to charge us for transportation we didn’t take. There were a lot of people fighting about their bills upon check out. When we checked out they insisted that we took a bottle of water from the mini bar even though we had pictures to prove that we didn’t. Which left a sour experience. If you come, be very wary of the charges. All that said, I am giving it four stars because of the luxury suite.

The check-in for this hotel was very slow and inefficient. There was no hot water in the hotel and this is typical apparently for these islands. There is only one restaurant and it was average. The seawater was warm but the chairs and lounges on the beach are very dirty. I would not recommend this to friends
