While you are updating your rooms, I was put into a room that was using the old heating system. The room was stone cold when I entered, the heater never got it warm enough. I had to sleep with my fleece vest on. There were only two electrical receptacles. Of the four outlets, three were used for appliances (good that you had those appliances), so only one plug for my stuff. Legally, I believe you need a receptacle every 6', and on every wall. Finally, the wifi kept dropping, and it requires a new code each time, so I couldn't use the wifi. Really bad experience.

Quick and easy check-in. Plenty of good parking spaces. Room was clean and well stocked. Bed was comfortable. Walkable to Black Bear Diner next door, McDonalds, Carls Jr, Arbys, Walmart, DMV, AutoZone, O'Reilly. Nice Motel 6 overall.

I'm not even sure where to begin with this review. I wish I would have checked the reviews on Google before booking a room for 1 night on Expedia.

We were going to be out and about all day in the area and decided not to make the 7-hour drive home after dark. We decided to book a room to sleep for a few hours and decided to be cheap and went with the cheapest room for 3 on Expedia. WRONG MOVE!

Where do I begin? The property was worn down, unkept, pool was closed and nasty. Dog feces everywhere on the little grass area. I watched someone literally walk their dog out of their room, watched it do its thing and walked back into the room without picking up after their dog as I was unloading my truck and trying to get to my room. This place looks like an apartment complex you'd find off Wilson Way; in Stockton that houses temporary tenants. It definitely looks like there's long term tenants living in these rooms.

When we finally got to the room, it was so disgusting! The room was old, walls, TV, doors, were tearing apart. The room reeked of weed, because the people next to us were smoking and it came through our vents. The floor was so dirty and upswept. I literally walked inside with my shoes on because my shoes were cleaner than the floor. Both the microwave and refrigerator inside the room were nasty, looks like it hasn't been wiped down in a while. The beds were old and creaking. The bathroom is another story. There were feces wiped on the wall where the toilet paper dispense

Motel 6 in Yreka, Ca is a runned down place.. Missing fire detect devices in our room , bathroom counters falling apart, it was a quiet place to stay at but that was the only positive thing about this Motel 6... They are allowing people to smoke in rooms which is against the law in California.. So since I have asthma , it was difficult to breathe...

I generally take into account when a hotel is less expensive and don't compare it to an upscale property. This is a low cost hotel so they get the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, even with that in mind, it still only rates a \"2\" on the overall scale.

The beds had pet hair and the floor was sticky. I requested a change of room which was granted. The 2nd room was a bit cleaner but the ac was very noisy (rattling). I was told that that was the best available. I asked for a refund, none was given. I found another hotel in the area.

The hotel was fine. The room was clean, which is the most important thing to me. There were some sketchy people in the back parking lot so I wouldn't be wandering around in the dark. Dogs are free so thats always great. If i need somewhere to sleep for a night passing through I'd stay again.

Location within walkjng distance of the necessities of lufe. The staff were attentive and caring. The night auditor even knocked on my door late at night once because he heard a loud noise and wanted to make sure I was okay. (Way cool, thank you.) Very clean and well maintained. My go to while in Yreka. Doesn’t offer food or coffee in room but if you go to and front they have coffee. The staff make it worth it and are always nice. Sometimes there will be problems with guest but they manage it quick and efficient. I love the parking and it is close to a 24 hour gas station that carries pretty much everything you need. Good with kids and also was nice when my daughter pulled the fire alarm lol

Stayed for one night and didn’t even sleep due to upstairs making so much noise and being inconsiderate between 2am-4am when I needed to be up at 7am. Upon leaving I saw my car had a dent meaning someone over night hit my car in the parking lot. It’s ridiculous, never staying here again. The toilet didn’t even look clean at all in the room I stayed in and the shower floor looked dirty which I didn’t use.

I’ve stayed in many Motel 6, this was the worst.

We booked a non-smoking room and the room smelled horribly of stale cigarettes. So much so that my nose hurts today. The screen on the window was half broken off, so it felt unsafe to leave the window open to air out the room. The bathroom and floors were terribly dirty. The curtains had dirt on them. The shower had urine one the rim. The towels had multiple hairs stuck in the fibers. The walls in the bathroom had filth in various places. I didn’t even want to use the shower. My husband stepped in poop outside of our room on the way in. It felt unsafe and unclean and I would not recommend anyone stay there.
The only positive thing I can say is that the sheets appeared to be relatively clean.

Property is being upgraded, and the changes are good but not yet completed. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Pet exercise area had supplies, but no grass yet. The room was very small but the bed was super comfortable. Price was a little high for the usual lack of amenities in this chain.

I was expecting bare bones for a single night on the road but this wasn't acceptable. The floor felt slightly sticky. There were no cups/glasses in the room, which felt like a minimum requirement. The water pressure was so strong in the sink that only a slight lift of the faucet was necessary to turn on the water, anything else resulted in spraying the counter, the floor and one's clothes. The water was hooked up so that the hot was on the right and the cold on the right. None of this was mentioned when we checked in. Orbitz had booked us for a handicapped room which we didn't need. Perhaps we should have taken it.

A good deal in a small town - very pleasant

We've never had any problems with Motel 6. This one is a nice, inexpensive place to sleep. No frills (though they did have a pool - we didn't use it, but other families sounded like they had a good time). And it's conveniently located next door to Black Bear Diner, which has good food!

Drink so much you pass out for better sleep

I wasn't really expecting much anyway - as it is a Motel 6, but I wound up more exhausted from traveling after waking up in the morning that I did before going to sleep. The upstairs and adjacent neighbors were mostly to fault - banging around stomping on the floor (or falling down) and chatting loudly till 2am or so. There's a homeless man camped out on the front lawn next to the electricity box too. Tougher times for him than me, so I can't complain much.

Super clean, convenient location, quiet and pet friendly motel. The AC in room 116 does not work and they offered to move us but it’s winter so we managed with opening window for fresh air which was great.
The important things we appreciated were first floor easy unload logistics and a clean smelling room with fresh linens no stains, no odors etc

Rundown sketcy nightmare

Was moving from Oregon to Slo County California and stayed here as an in-between point out of pure exhaustion and I instantly regretted it after getting to this hotel. It was the epitome or RUNDOWN. The last person who commented siad 50/50 thought his car would get broken into and I felt the same exact way. I made a point to check on my car sevral points throughout the night. Not only was this place extremely sketchy but the room was not in good shape by any means either. The curtains had something splattered all over it, the bathroom shower was plastered over the whole bottom which makes it impossible to properly clean because with the plaster on it it makes it a porous surface (it honestly looked like a great place to get warts) - and thats not all. There were dogs barking at all hours of the night and at one point at 3 in the morning a smoke alarm went off scaring the absolute day lights out of my partner and I. I mean Ive stayed at a few motel 6s and this is definitely the bottom of the absolute barrel.

Overnight Stay During Travel

Convenient location just off the freeway but far enough away to be in a quiet area. It was an overnight short stay on our way back to Washington state from California. No frills lodging perfect for such instances—clean, low cost, convenient location close to restaurants, gas, retail stores. Not a Hyatt, but fits the bill for the occasion.

This property is not safe. I worried as soon as I walked in the dingy, bad smelling office. After a very long wait, I was checked in and told to be sure not to leave anything in my car as there was a large homeless encampment behind the property. Was also told there were monthly guests in the building. I drove to my room on the very back side of the property and found the monthly guests and their belongings had spilled out on the walkways and into the parking lot. There were many people milling about by the parked cars. As a solo female traveler, I didn't feel at all safe even getting out of my car, let alone staying at this property. The building is run down on the outside. I didn't even go inside the room. After finding another hotel, I called this propedty to let them know I didn't feel safe and would not stay there. Instead of offering me a refund, they said they would \"note that\" and hung up on me. No refund was given.

After staying at numerous Motel 6 locations this was the absolute worst. Our clerk was friendly, the pet area was decent. However, the room was dirty. Trash, debris under beds, shower not properly scrubbed, broken/moldy shower curtain, sink clogged, toilet handle in disrepair causing toilet to run continuously. The list goes on..
I never leave reviews, although, I felt compelled to share and possibly save someone from the experience I had.

Not Bad for an Overnight Stay

Stayed there overnight during a road trip. It was a smoking room so it had a strong smell and a stained bathroom ceiling, and the toilet seat was obviously aged. Bedsheet was stained.
Other than that, the bed was comfortable enough, bathroom was in working order and I had plenty of space. Staff was friendly and helpful and check in was easy.
Just what I needed for a quick overnight stay.

Cost effective stop.

We enjoyed the room, sheets and towels were fresh & clean, the area was quiet, great for sleeping. The bed was a 6 out of 10 the springs squeaked every time we moved. The next morning our car was covered in ash due to all the fires in the area, hope Yreka stays safe.The staff was awesome😇😃🙂👍
