Comfort Inn in Yreka is horrible! We didn’t have towels in our room, which we had to get from the front desk. The room wasn’t vacuumed & there were obvious items on the floor & there was a foul odor in the room. There were people camped out in the parking lot & they had others hanging out with them.

The hot breakfast was very nice and the staff was friendly. A major complaint though is that it was obvious the room hadn’t been well cleaned. The bed was made up with dirty sheets (ick, took a picture) and there was a used towel on the back of the bathroom door. We noticed these things when getting ready for bed late, and so lived with them.

We were put on a dog floor…the dogs barked non stop for over an hour. I called the front desk at 11:30pm and were told we can switch rooms. Ya I’m going to pack up my family that late at night and move. The grounds were disgusting food all over the parking lot a homeless man sleeping in the bushes. I think people live in this hotel. The carpet was stained and the bathroom had yuck on the floor and there was a used qtip left behind. I would not stay here! We had no choice seeing as it was a holiday weekend.

Well I had driven 10hrs. The people left their dogs in their rooms
And they were barking. Guests yelled in the hallway. My body wash soap and conditioner were out in the shower. The shower towels were not in bathroom. I told them they were great getting me them and by sound of it several rooms did t have them. I felt bad for the staff. The two were wonderful the man helped me to my room. I kept my dogs quiet. The people guests were just flat rude coming into the hotel and no carpet in hallway so you could hear Ppl walking always. I thought I would be staying in top end hotel. But the place is just a thin walled hotel and casino nearby that makes people come in drink and loud. If you were tired like me don’t stay in it. The casino makes it noisy for people leaving dogs in rooms. The rooms didn’t smell. Choice on tv were limited. A/c was great. Bed great and pillows. It was clean room

Not good. I requested room for mobility issues w/ stairs & shower. We were put on the 3rd floor w/ tub shower. No elevator. Attendant directed me to park near the north door. The key reader on outside doors did not work. I packed luggage up to office & back to stairway. Staff propped door ajar with rick & door mat… There was a guy sleeping on the 2nd floor landing, when I went down at 6am. Waffle iron needed cleaning.

I stay in a lot of hotels for work I wouldn’t waste my money. Needs updates staff was ok. They keep out side doors propped open all hrs not very secure. People could come and go. Check in room went to room found half empty bottle of liquor by microwave in cabinet and pulled sheets back on bed like I always do to check and found hairs. That tells me the maids do half ASS clean jobs. The remote to tv didn’t work so went to front desk asked for new remote Clerk gave me new one that one also didn’t even work so I gave up on tv. They were guests that were living there plants in windows dogs barking as u walk to your work all hrs. Kids running up and down hallways all hrs. Mop handles holding room doors shut so the dogs wouldn’t open the doors from the inside while there owners were gone so would not stay there. Shower head when turn on sprays against wall and just runs over tub onto floor so u can’t adjust it just aprays high.

The hotel itself wasn’t bad. But it was impossible to sleep. Multiple dogs in multiple rooms were barking all night. And there was so much foot traffic down the hall. You could hear everyone come in and out of their rooms all night long. I’ve never had such an awful nights sleep at a hotel.

Staff at check-in was helpful. I had requested a room on the quiet side/away from the freeway, but the room assigned was on the freeway side. They quickly checked and found a different room on the parking lot side. Thank you! Unfortunately, the vent fan in the bathroom did not work! The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was typical and adequate. I stayed there for 9 days! Not once was the room serviced, the trash was never collected, towels never replaced!! I mentioned this to the front desk staff at check out: he commented that not that it is acceptable, but there was a recent change in management and front desk staff, and that evidently all the communication issues have not yet been ironed out! Nice to hear, but as he stated, not acceptable service.

We called the number on the notice posted on the lobby door, but no one answered. As we walked around the property, we eventually found another entrance where we could use our room key to get in. It would have been helpful if this had been mentioned at check-in.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. The night time staff weren’t very friendly or professional in appearance.

The TV was a nightmare! Every few minutes a ROKU sales advertisement would pop up on the screen.

There were people cooking on a small grill behind the hotel and later were eating their food in the dining area. Not sure if they were staff or homeless but didn’t give us a good feeling. It looked like a homeless person sleeping in their car in the parking lot where we parked.

Overall we’ll never stop there again.

Front door was locked manager came from where the rooms was then was given a key to someone else’s room after manager stated ICE came through earlier and got people went in the room tv still on bags and water bottles still there then went to the car walked past a room with tweakers then in the morning a man approached my girl and said hello then stood there asking if we needed help walking things to the car and he wasn’t a worker no worker was in the lobby at all for more then 10+ minutes

check in went fine...the gal at the front desk was pleasant enough. She gave us a room on the second floor - there is no elevator, FYI. When we attempted to get in to our room, out key wouldn't work. There was a loud barking dog in the room next to us. She was able to move rooms when I requested a different, quieter room. She put us on the third floor. The room itself was acceptable...nothing fancy but fairly clean. However, the walls are THIN and there was loud people in the hallway at midnight. A man was snoring loudly in the room next door. I would never stay in this hotel by myself. Won't choose this hotel in the future.

The counter person had a boyfriend with a pit breed dog in th lobby barking at other dogs and when we arrived they were giving tattoos in the lobby. They meaning homeless vagrants. The place was loud all night with slamming doors and homeless bikes and shopping carts out back. Broken cars barely drive able. Just gross. The tv didn’t work. It was a night mare

When I entered the room, I almost lost consciousness.. such a terrible smell in the room that it was impossible to be there.. as if they had smoked there for a long time with the windows closed. Not a room, but a smoking room. I was staying with a child. A homeless woman was sitting at the entrance to the hotel. I liked the breakfast the most, it was wonderful. The staff is friendly. The location is good, but our windows overlooked the I-5 highway, so it was very noisy, but the room smelled so bad that it was impossible to close the window.

There’s no reason to stay in Yreka except you are on your way to somewhere “obscure”. It’s a small town of 7,500, but it’s still relatively a big town in the area. We were driving on our way to Reno. Initially we were planning to stay in Ashland, but found out we were arriving too early, and in trying to shorten our drive to Reno the next day, we stayed in Yreka which is 50 mins further down south. Hotel is unassuming; it looks worn down on the outside. It tries its best in a down beaten town like Yreka.
Best is that it has Raleys and Walmart a block away. Other than buying some food, we didn’t leave the hotel room. There’s nothing to do or see.
Advice: Stay a bit north in Ashland or bit south in Redding.

I reserved a room and communicated that I needed a first floor room or access to an elevator due to my 92 year old mother was not able to climb stairs. When we arrived I was told that there were no available rooms on the first floor. They had already filled them. They then said I could just take a second floor it I could be refunded. First and foremost, the hotel staff initially gave me and my wife a room that was already occupied. When we opened the door, we were immediately hit by the strong smell of food—something like a hot plate and rice cooker cooking Asian cuisine. It seemed less like a hotel room and more like a crash pad.

There was garbage piled in the corner, open cases of food, leftovers still in grocery bags, and stacks of single-use plates. Clothes were laid out on one of the beds. Strangely, the beds looked untouched or already made, and there was even a fully assembled baby crib. It was around 10:00 p.m., and we were understandably confused and concerned by the situation.

The front desk gave us another room, but when we got to the third floor, things didn’t improve. People were loudly socializing in the hallway with doors wide open—even though it was late. It felt like they had taken over the entire floor, talking and laughing well into the night without any regard for other guests.

Overall, the entire experience was unsettling and unprofessional. It didn’t feel like a safe or well-managed place to stay.
